Weapon focus, Power Attack, Cleave, the usual suspects for a mostly melee class. A benefit of using a Paladin in this game is that since it's so geared towards killing evil things (the vast majority of enemies in the game), it's difficult to build a shitty Paladin.
Is cleave and cleaving finish worth it if I want to use longswords?

If you intend to use Longswords then I assume that you also want to use shields, in which I suggest taking Shield Focus, Heavy Armor Focus, and Dodge to be a bit tankier. You already get a Paladin geared towards tanking as your first companion, so I would personally go with a Two-Hander. If you want to kick her from the party and be the main tank instead, I'd focus on what I listed above.

I'm pretty sure it would work well, but you'd want to gear your Magus to focus on Strength instead of Dexterity, which is a turn-off for some people. Properly built though, I think it might be one of the best classes for that particular setup.

They are standalone campaigns but it may be harder to go from wrath to KM if you wanted more due to some QoL improvements.
Personally i would say look for KM as it is cheaper and by the time you are done Wrath's enhanced edition will have come out so you can then go to that rather than starting wrath and if you are still playing in fall when the patch comes out having some changes mid game.

I liked it a lot. People on Ganker seem to hate it, but I liked the writing and companions quite a bit. Build customization is maximally autistic which may turn some people off, but is a big selling point for others. HoMM minigame sucks, you can disable it but you lose out on some content. There's a mod that lets you just auto-win every battle, which I haven't tried but if I ever come back to the game, I probably will.

Never played lich, but everybody I've ever seen talk about this says sorcerer. Lich is undead so gets hp from CHA, and iirc also gets bonuses to CHA.

There are still various AoE effs, attacks from ranged attacks by people who have true seeing and ignore frontline etc. It's why you still throw stoneskin, resit/protection from elements, blur./mirror image etc for the enemies not having true seeing getting lucky snipes and all that.
Cases where fighst start after scene transition (so no alpha strieks) and reinforcements pop up are rare, but no reason not to account for them
If other casters can get by without more HP just fine then it's obviously a minor thing not worth accounting for.
You pick sorcerer because bloodline benefits are betetr than school benefits in many cases, extra casts along with abundant let you go on for much longer, and as a lich when you merge spellbooks, you will not bother with one off spells or less effective variants you'd fill sorcerer spellbook.
Hp is a minor bonus.
But beyond this specific choice, you should not disregard caster defenses completely in this game

This game isn't perfect in terms of player choices, but it's still among best regarding "evil" options and opportunities to frick all those morons over.
Kangmaker is pretty good for that. City even changes according to your alignment and political steps you made, like if you dabble in Blackmancy, there will be skellies for guards.
There is no dedicated Divayth style sorcerous path in WOTR, but you can larp like it a lot anyway, especially with an effect it has on other npcs.
I have yet to find a game that accomodates evil playthroughs so well. Beware though, the alignment system often mark as evil the cartoonishly evil choice, while the medium evil one is not flagged for alignment.
Alignment has little effect on gameplay so just disr gard it if you see your alignment shifting to good even if you are doing evil stuff.
Also evil characters get arguably the best romance (not going to spoil you)

Because nobody's made it yet. I know someone made a mod for a Woljif romance and iirc the modder put out a framework for doing romances, and another group is doing romances for different characters, like Yaker, Targona and Hand of the Inheritor.

I just finished this game 3 days ago, standard ending with Arue romance as a chaotic good angel. Is it worth getting the secret ending? I actually like the gameplay.

I was at mythic rank 9, so yeah I did not get the rank 10. In fact, the mission to follow Mosafaten or whatever was bugged and there were no demons in Plura's Fall for me to kill. I let him escape and saved the inhabitans instead, then no matter what I did I couldn't progress my mythic rank. I guess this locks you out of the secret ending no?

There's a metric frickton of things that lock you out of the secret ending in every act. It's far more involved than the Kingmaker equivalent of "Simp for the plant and research every curse"

Gameplay wise yes. Most get some kind of group like Angel gets a small squad of bros, Trickster has a bunch of pranksters to do ebin pranks with and I think a cult forms around the swarm also but it's not the lord of death, which is mainly there so people like Staunton aren't completely useless since Torag isn't going to let that undead gay cast anything.

Cult Leader is just a subclass of the warpriest class. You can pick any mythic you want.

It's kind of odd the game let's you use certain characters portraits since they give them a completely different one that doesn't really fit. Like if you use Trevers portrait he uses the generic looking black paladin guy from Kingmakers portrait, or using Horgus portrait gives Horgus the jolly bear mode looking knight guy.
Funniest one was in kingmaker were using Tartuccio's potrait made the NPC use the crazy gnome with the hooked hamer

He doesn't take the banner and the demons still come in a massive force and frick up the crusades. Drezen doesn't fall, but it's still effectively lost to the crusade because they're cut off from Mendev. Instead of 70 years being the crusades punching back he's just desperately trying to keep the place from falling for all that time (which I believe is the excuse they use for why he doesn't join the party, he's fricking tired after that) and when it was finally starting to fall you showed up. For all intents and purposes not much changes beyond turning him from the disgrace of the crusade to a war hero. Act 1 and 2 went down the same way only without him present.
Also iirc he admits he's still a simp for Minagho.

I think it's way overpowered for anything intended for DND. DND has divine ranks, but even a level 30-50 divine rank 21+ character would still get stomped by this thing. The only way to beat it would be some kind of cheese involving whatever it isn't immune to.

You'll get small things here and there but in act 5 when iomedae asks you to give up your powers, if you're in a romance with Arue she'll tell everyone she loves you and adiuces you to accept iomeade and give up your powers.
When you have to confirm or reject your mythic path she begs you to drop it if you're playing demon, gets dialgoeu both before and after you do it. She also reduces the DC of the skill checks you have to do if you want to go legend. Not GD though, that one doesn't skill checks.
