The problem is the games replayability takes a massive nosedive due to the insane amount of unskippable cutscenes that are fairly bland. There's not really any details to latch onto on a replay that you didn't pick up on your initial run. That doesn't make it bad as a whole just bad at this one specific thing. Also not a fan of rotom phone I guess. Dances are a bit dumb but not nearly as bad as anons here pretend. The pss being removed was moronic. But the relative challenge of totem pokemon and aura shenanigans were both fun, and the locations were interesting. I also genuinely enjoyed mantine surfing even if it could have been polished a bit more.
I love gen VII actually. Many good new mons, good antagonists, good waifus, nice character customization. People whine about tutorials but it's not really much worse than any other modern game. Trials are dumb but so are gym puzzles, it's ultimately not that different.

My second favorite (if we’re excluding LGPE). I find the cutscene issue a bit overblown but I do wish they added an option to skip cutscenes

Honestly, as long as you don't have to actually play the games, Gen 7 is one of the best Pokemon generations ever made.
