genwun sold very well and everybody knows the entire gen was a buggy poorly-designed mess where basic mechanics didn't even work properly, sales mean nothing in terms of actual quality

It has some used for an ingame playthtough via status spreading, its just that It was created when Game Freak actively prevented new pokemon from being "too good" because they were afraid that new Pokemon would like the overshadow their precious GENWUN Pokemon, these why Gen 2 has so many "shitmons". Gen 3 is only ever so slightly better and even then that's due to being hard carried by a handful of shillmons and the starters not being actively gimped like the Johto starters were.
I caught a shiny Skiploom in Scarlet and Jumpluff ended up being my best mon. Fast as hell, Sleep Powder, U-Turn, Acrobatics, Giga Drain. He was a little monster and I'll always associate them with Scarlet because of it

Hoppip is one of those mons that's just more prevalent in another region, like Skarmory in Hoenn
I love both the Hoppip line and their betamons
skiploom doesnt look like a middle stage, its too similar to hoppip
