Actually console gamers are generally the smelliest, as console gaming is lazy. They collect farts on their couch as they eat Doritos and drink mountain dew all day.
fricking this. every time i buy a used console, it is literally the most filthy shit ever. those "people" are incapable of just doing a quick wipe down which would take like 2 minutes max
RA2 also my first PC game
few months later bought and installed a 60gb matrox HD and geforce 2 mx
never looked back, consoles were dead to me, especially for anything fps
This, I have been playing on a PC since 1997 (since I was 4 years old) since my father made me play educational games on his computer, the only console I had as my own was a clone of the NES and a PS1, I still preferred the PC.
Idort has meant portable + pc for a good while now.
Even back when ps4 had exclusives they were tied to a system that made jet engine noises and could only run them in unstable 30 fps.
Then NEVER tell you this, but the PS4 was much LOUDER than a pc.
I've been playing bloodborne in my cousin's ps4 and I sometimes have to stop because the thing feels like it's going to explode. Thank frick ghosts of tsushima is coming to PC because that game makes the thing get so loud it's nearly unplayable.
Watch Dogs is the most famous example of consoles holding back gaming
https://gamerant.com/watch-dogs-visual-downgrade-ps4-xbox-one-714/ >In a new interview with the Evening Standard, Watch Dogs senior producer Dominic Guay reminds people that "the first showing of Watch Dogs came in summer 2012, before anyone knew what the Next Gen of consoles and hardware would be." The producer explains that he and Ubisoft "did our best at the time to predict what that would be and always were forward that this first showing was running on a very powerful PC." Essentially, the lack of information that the development team had on the PS4 and the Xbox One meant that they perhaps overestimated how good the final release would look on those consoles.
I don't think as many people believe this as they used to. We've since come to realize that devs are just incompetent and the games we imagined we would've had without consoles were never going to become a reality because they're more expensive and harder to make.
Consoles aren't holding back games in terms of graphics, but rather console gamers' slavelike attitudes. Did you see how many sony players were shitting on PC for refusing to make an account? They were mad because PC players proved it wasn't necessary to just bend over and take it; something they'd never even considered.
Imagine how big of a shitfit they'd throw if MS decided PC players need to start paying for Xbox Live if they're going to use the MS store and PC just refused with another boycott.
You're not wrong, but the helldivers thing was a special case. They were in legal trouble since they sold the game to countries they didn't do business with, then were gonna yank the game out of their hands unfairly. Notice how there was little to no outrage about GoT also requiring an account.
>Imagine how big of a shitfit they'd throw if MS decided PC players need to start paying for Xbox Live
MS tried that a decade ago with the Games for Windows Live shit. And that was before the PS4 launched with PS+ being mandatory for MP. Console players are just cucks.
No, ps gamers don’t get it because they don’t sign into anything, they make their account and that’s the last sign in they ever do. Its one sign in per 4 or 5 years. Pc gamers hate it because every company wants you to sign into some different launcher and they repeatedly have to do it time and again and manage passwords and login ins for numerous accounts.
Because devs don't care about the future or development of games. They care about selling their product to as many people as possible. Which is why movie games are such a "hit" among devs.
>Bioshock Infinite
Watered-down and redesigned from the ground-up as a generic linear FPS basically gutted all immersive sim and exploration elements from the first two games. >Watch_Dogs
Graphically regressed from prerelease footage on PC due to pressure from Sony and Microsoft to maintain graphical parity with inferior console hardware that was recently released, only for modders to find the shaders and effects that give the game its distinct look as shown at E3 were still buried in the game's files and disabled. >Cyberpunk 2077
Last-gen versions are notoriously awful and clearly not suitable for the hardware, PS4 and Xbone versions should have been cancelled prior to E3 2019 and made PC/next-gen exclusive.
Just three examples of games from recent years that were all compromised by weak console hardware and devs being forced to achieve multiplatform parity with them.
>Most games that innovated have come out of Japan almost exclusively on consoles.
like what? the only video game innovation to EVER come out of japan is the wii. nothing before or after that is remotely relevant, good, or innovative. jerking off japanese games as good is a sign of delusional moronation, which you have.
If we’re talking about hardware there’s many examples like the Dreamcast’s VMU. If we’re looking at games there’s lots of experimental ideas. It’s not about “jerking off Japan”, plenty of Western games are good, Japan just tries new things more often.
All the west does is rip off Japanese ideas while not doing them any justice. Like with Souls games, no one gives a frick about Lords of the Fallen in favor of Souls which itselfbl borrows western fantasy but actually makes an appealing action game out of it. They'll rip off the Japanese half heartedly while pumping in DEI western values to make it something so unappealing that not even western customers will remember it exists a month later.

i dont even know how you can get this moronic.... like what. you do know that majority of the games that the west plays are made in the west with ideas not from japan..?

>ellipsis >no argument
I accept your concession, DEI westcuck shill.
No but I miss actually giving a shit about achievements.
The era of Xbox 360 gamerscore prostitutes was a fun time to be alive. Steam achievements just don't hit the same.
I love it when I see a Wojack style thing in a Youtube thumbnail.
It's an immediate alarm bell to just block the fricking channel because nothing will be funny or entertaining. Just like posting here really.
let me guess: >upfront cost is too much >messing with settings hard >controllers are almost always useless due to no aim assist on pc versions >if you want a good one you have to build it yourself... which is le hard!!
I got into PC gaming for 1 reason only and that was the cost of online multiplayer with xbox/playstation/nintendo. Atleast nintendo prices their shit cheaply like their servers
cost is too much
Kinda true, especially if you are moronic
with settings hard
If you are moronic maybe
are almost always useless due to no aim assist on pc versions
Why would you play a fricking fps game on c**troller? >>if you want a good one you have to build it yourself... which is le hard!!
I dont think it gets hard even if you are moronic tbh

Just realized Nintendo's winning move. They sell their consoles cheaply (compared to the competition), so everyone buts, but charge £50 for their games and never ever drop the prices so that people who already own the console will feel compelled to eventually buy more of these full price games, slowly but surely making up the cost of the cheaper selling price for the consoles. Whereas people will outright not buy the latest Playstation even if there's a couple of exclusive games they want on it because the price of the console is too much, even though Switch owners eventually pay that much and more in order to purchase Nintendo exclusives.
>competent gaming PCs are now cheaper than the highest selling console >morons STILL say it's too expensive >highest selling console with the most exclusives is less powerful and runs games much worse than said gaming PCs (said gaming PC also emulates the console's exclusives at much higher framerates too) >morons STILL cry about muh optimization >competent and affordable gaming PCs can now literally be bought prebuilt without even bothering with PC building >morons STILL cry it's too hard WAAAAAA
Just buy a fricking Steam Deck if you're too low IQ to fit GPU in slot. They are literally cheaper than Switches now.
Also love how he uses slop games like Halo Infinite to cry about poor optimization. Like any non-moronic PC gamer is playing that garbage? Current/last gen games aren't even worth pirating.
a 4090 is double the price of a ps5, and thats just the gpu >inb4 you dont need something that powerful
anything less wont be able to run games that a console would
VI will come out on PS5 which has a GPU equivalent to an RX 5700. It will definitely not need a 4090 to run unless Rockstar India is handling the port. GTA V's PC port ran on literal toasters even by 2014 standards.
Someone tell this Black person that the PS5 runs at 720p upscaled and 30fps "quality mode". It's nothing that even a low-end shit tier card can't achieve. >true 4K
Doesn't even require a 4090 as long as you aren't playing bad ports. A 4090 struggles to even get 4K on ugly ass titles like Starfield and all of its "power" comes from fake frames/framegen. Stop making excuses for your poorhomosexualry and stop playing slop games.
>anything less won't be able to run games that a console would
but no consoles have the games i like. consoles cost way more in the long run due to online membership and having to buy all the games. even if i had a 4090 the games i would play would be.... the exact same games i play on my 980 lol
they aren't though, the switch lite is 199, and even less refurbished. The switch is extremely cheap and is actually available in stores around the world.
If consolegays weren't moronic, they would be making the argument that it's moronic to spend a high amount of money getting the most out of slop games and butchered pozzware (which is all modern AAA gaming is nowadays).
But they don't because they are cattle.
it is. If you buy a PC to play higher resolutions and frame rates, but buy a shit PC so the resolution and frame rate is still dire then you're a fricking idiot and you might as well have just stayed with a cheap console

You have never seen a good PC. You're hating on console because your own PC is shit and a console is all you're capable of shitting on. >but I get 50fps at 1440p where a console gets 60fps at 1080p
A console knows exactly what it is, a cheap device for playing games on, while your PC is dogshit and you're larping that it isn't.
I would take a console over a shit mid-range or older PC every time.

You do know you can change resolutions in a console, right, you can see clear differences in image quality when it's set to 4k or 1440p etc.

yes but you will have much lower quality than PC on the same FPS and resolution

it might do on my PC. My PC cost a lot more than a console does. Other people in this threads PC's not so much.
I bet most people crying about consoles are still running 1080p monitors.

whats wrong with 1080p? Its the only resolution you need, maybe 1440p at most, anything above is a meme and scam just like RT lol.
^these liars think that people can't look up prices for graphics cards, processors, memory modules, power supply units, motherboards, and computer cases that are Worth a Damn.
https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/LGgXsY/entry-level-intel-gaming-build
Well you don't really need a case so you can take that and get to ~$500 without a singular sale or trying too hard. Any man worth their salt can just use scrap wood. A woman may have to get a man to do it for her.
You can also ind a few Optiplexes online at eBay or Mercari for ~$150 and plop a $200 GPU and a PSU in them and be fine gtoo.
>buy a console for gaming >buy the competing console to access its exclusives >buy older gen consoles to play games only available on them >buy a PC too because the consoles are useless for anything other than games
Would you just look at all that money I saved.
The upsides have been tremendous, but getting random issues that other people don't is a nightmare problem with them. You can be up shit's creek with a game patch completely fricking you over for reasons you don't get. is it something else you have installed? is it an incompatible driver? Who knows
this is true, but each successive generation of gpus, cpus and games seems to mostly minimise this, early access games are awful for this stuff though, but the bug-fests of a decade ago are definitely becoming rarer.
They'll never go away until pcs become less modular though, as hard as that is to admit.
No but I do play games on my tv pc with a controller more now
Buying a console is moronic, I have access to virtually every game ever made on my computers
Only because they largely stopped making the games that brought me to the platform >RTS is dead >RPGs have become dating sims >Adventure games are dead >MMOs are dead
Only thing left are a few strategy games like Paradox stuff or Battle Brothers
I've always played on PC and console. More PC nowadays, but up through gen 8 I was way heavier on console for multiplats, just because there were less hackers, less horseshit, and less chinks.
Now with crossplay none of that holds true so it makes no sense to spend the extra money on a console. It's slightly cheaper but my 1070 still works to play a huge majority of everything I'm actually interested in, and I saved up over the course of covid to pick up a 3090 for pretty cheap, and I don't think I'll have any issues running any game that comes out for quite a long time, with my secondary PC with the 1070 in it being used for guests or kids or my girlfriend.
Consoles were legitimately at the cutting edge from the early 90s to the early 00s. A PC game released in 2001 isn't going to look as good as Final Fantasy X.
There's a reason why PC gaming didn't really start building a reputation for complete technical superiority until the mid-00s.
>N64 gamer >Nintendo's entire first party N64 library! >Rare's entire N64 library (peak Rare)! >Worth playing today? Hell yeah!
>PS1 gamer >Square's entire PS1 library! >Capcom's entire PS1 library! >All of those other awesome 3rd party devs! Too many to list here! >Worth playing today? Hell yeah!
>mid-90s PC gamer >Quake! >Warcraft 2! >A bunch of crappy adventure games that time has forgotten! >Quake was impressive back then!
I wonder what percentage of people who declare that PC was superior in the 90s were obsessed exclusively with Id Software. One developer headed by a programming magician isn't really a great gauge for the entire scene.
UT2004 is better than anything ever released on any console
but you're simply a Black person with no taste so you don't matter even if there's more of your kind
Battlefield 2 could not be released on your dogshit hardware either, we could've had a full blown bf3 if it didn't have to dumb everything down for """people"" like you
stick with your bing bing wahoo chink games, go live in chinkland and kill off your genes and play cross platform games with ""aim assist""
Zog has warped your brain to think any fps slop is better than 90s consoles. You're too far gone and luckily your bloodline will cease when the military industrial complex's brainwashing inflicted upon you inevitably causes you to die in a war.
Unreal was ahead of consoles and arcades in terms of gameplay just like how Quake 3 was years ahead of everything in 1999.
Like some lads in my town would play Syphon filter one day and then next day we are in a net cafe playing Quake 3.
I had the experience of playing Contra on sega and going that same day to cousins house to play Unreal on a pc.
Contra is great but its like a different paradigm of games.
And then there was multiplatform games like Warzone2100. It was like ass on the playstation, but on PC you could play it at 1280x1024 res ...
There wasn't a single game released in the entire history of all consoles combined that's better than Might & Magic VII, let alone "released in 2001" or earlier.
So while the graphics argument might've been up in the air, the game quality argument was absolutely not.
I've recently gone back to playing on my PS4/Switch since my old desktop stopped working and there's nothing current gen that interests me. I enjoy owning the disks and being able to sell them instead of having crap that I have zero interest in replaying like I have in Steam. However if I ever need to upgrade for something and I have the choice between PC and digital only consoles they have now then obviously I'd go for the PC
The amount of options you have on PC compared to a console makes up for the price difference IMO. Unless you can't afford a decent PC I really don't think there's a reason to play on console, especially with how bad current gen consoles are.
How are people posting here and on Ganker in general if they only play on consoles.
Do you guys have browsers on your consoles?
Are you typing each letter individually like a moron by moving to it with sticks?
Dont tell me you leave your game to sit on PC to type on Ganker.
And in no way i believe someone is sitting on a coach and in the middle of a game picks up his phone to post on Ganker.
How do u even find images in half a second on a phones to post on an imageboard?
Surely all pictures on your phone aren't just pepes, wojacks and other reaction images right anon?
have just built a good pc, but were too dumb
no you couldn't, you're probably thinking of a budget gaming pc when i said "cheap pc", i didnt', i legit meant a pc with the specs of a late 2000s mid range pc, thats all someone who doesnt play games on their computer needs for other tasks, you can get the aforementioned combo for like 600$
>$600 >+ several hundred more for a console
yeah you could instead have just built a gaming PC, but you are stupid because you're poor, and you're poor because you're stupid.
>watch a guide on youtube on how to get a gaming pc for only a couple hundred dollars >"you know what? i wanna be part of the masterrace" >switch to lord almighty PC >get the components and pay someone to assemble it >getting ready to game >driver issues >BSoD >blacks screens >crashes >"this cannot be...it was supposed to be the best way..." >browse the internet for answers >"lol he fell for the AyyyMD meme" >"imagine buying AMD"
I miss being a child playing on my ps2, it was so simple... it just werked...still works in fact
What did you build? I recently put together three pcs and have had no issues. A 3060 build for my youngest brother, and a 4080 and 6700xt build for friends who want to play elden ring.
Yeah amd is a fricking pain in the ass sometimes >6700xt owner
Only good thing is I don't need to give AMD my email just to use all the features on my card unlike Nvidia
If that's your main concern then you'll be happy to know that the new nvidia app doesn't require a sign in. If you like you're card then you shouldn't consider changing it, but at least it's a welcome change.
>fellow 6700xt owner
My main issue is the software is finnicky. Fricking Adrenaline just doesn't load properly and I have to reboot my PC to get it to boot so I can configure some shit.
The card itself I'm happy with, I only really care about playing at 1080p/144FPS (if possible) but AMD's software is annoying to work with.
>buy budget secondhand parts based off of a meme video by a youtube creator trying to churn out videos >didnt use pcpartpicker >didnt check compatibility on anything >likely bought a secondhand gpu (often has problems as people who rotate out gpus can often be pretty lazy and harsh on them because they know they're just getting another one in a couple years on repeat)
i had issues with my first pc too, bought the wrong ram and didnt get ssds+m.2 drives until much later, proper ram specs and setups can do wonders. If you apply yourself and have a pc gamer friend to bounce ideas off of, and are still having unsolvable issues, its a skill issue.
I will say that there is some seriously lacking info on critical things like motherboard UI functionality, learning that you're not supposed to ever defrag an ssd/m.2 drive, ram model advertising specs flat out misinforming customers (a 2x3000mhz ram sticks arent actually 3000mhz speed, they are 1500mhz speed each, this is moronic and ram manufacturers shouldnt be allowed to advertise their shit like this). But for some reason tech-tubers never address this shit.
He makes a good point. If you're on the fence, you should just get a console. If you're someone who is just interested in playing a couple current gen games, it makes no sense to pay over 1000$ for a gaming pc.
I discovered the sect of couch PC users and have been converted. >comfy couch >OLED TV with actual not dogshit HDR >keyboard and mouse in lap, or controller with Bluetooth
No. I've always had a PC and a console but the last console I ever bought was a PS3 and I only picked it over the 360 because of the free online. As soon as I saw the asterisk on that sharing game mock video for the PS4 I went full PC. Frick that.
Consoles are just for poor people who can't afford a decent pc. I use to work at Wal-Mart and 95% of my co-workers were either ps4 or Xbox one gays. They would max out their credit cards on MTG cards or get new tires for their shitty looking trucks while living with their parents. Got my B/A and moved on as a Java dev and all my co-workers are gacha prostitutes driving used toyotas making 130k+/yr playing on pc.
I'll never understand the pc hate. Even brain dead morons can pc game these days It's that easy. It's not like a game being on pc invalidates your console. Pc gaming is more accessible to a lot of people and many even grow up or just get a proper job. Ever since I've been on steam I've talked to a quite a few guys who started on poverty rigs or cheap gaming laptops and now have really nice rigs.
You overestimate average person and the midwits.
The pc hardware gore thread comes to mind, with USA fat mutt that has them fat hands and ham fists, breaking a couple motherboards trying to jam a cpu into the socket, screwing the board without standoffs directly to the case and short cuircuting everything, etc.
Like he wasted a couple grand of components "to learn how to do it"...
And the prebuilt has a shitty psu, shitty case airflow solution, 1 stick of ram, stock cpu cooler, windows 11 home with settings for some granny that needs a computer for facebook, cheapest motherboard... >inb4 its a non issue for a tech literate/ nerd/ non npc
It is, but here itt you have midwots that allow windows update to arbitrarily overwrite their gpu driver. And Blacks that think using 3rd party software is the devil.
You need to find a local prebuild company not Starforge meme systems or whatever.
For example
https://ozb.techfast.com.au/products/Gaming-PC-AMD-Ryzen-7-7800X3D-RTX-4070-Ti-Super-16GB-Gaming-Desktop-EOFY
$1300USD. The actual sale price is $2000AUD not as listed.
Most people who work white collar jobs sitting at a desk all day do not want to come home to continue sitting at a desk to rest.
People in general are not going to set up a tower at their couch let alone a wireless MKB setup with some sort of lap desk to use them on. Even if you want to argue they can go into Big Picture Mode and use a controller then there still comes the issue of having to troubleshoot PC problems which isn't necessary with consoles, you just reboot the thing and it works. Enjoy telling someone who wants to play something like Deadly Premonition on their PC that they can't without installing DPfix, or someone who wants to play FPS games that they have to use a MKB or their experience is going to be abysmal.
The overwhelming majority of people rely on prebuilt computers which not only skews their perception on performance, but also their perception on cost. Even cheap ones are like $500 if you're not looking directly at a Chromebook, and when you go to "Gaming" things you start to see how ridiculous the prices get. This leads to a preconceived notion of it being expensive. Many people also grew up on a "family computer" that ran like garbage.
Even if you get past the preconceived notions you then get to the next hurdle of having to pay for someone to assemble your PC because people are scared of tinkering or breaking something adding even more cost on top of it. They don't realize it's just expensive Legos, they think they have to baby everything, and some people do not want to spend a couple hours Youtubing guides on how to do it.
Many of the attractions of PC gaming like piracy or emulating are not what the average person agrees with. They will actually consider you a bad person for even mentioning those as options. Just look at how religiously fervent people get about emulating Nintendo games. Even if they see the BC thing as a legitimate benefit not everyone cares.
Most importantly: People's friends very likely do not play on PC.
>I'll never understand the pc hate.
it's more about "do you want first party games that exist because they need to sell a machine (which usually mean a bigger budget for that) or independant games"?
Everything is really sharp. Jumping from a 1440p monitor to a lg oled tv was a nice jump. Moreso the oled, but games almost look like there's innate anti-aliasing thanks to the high resolution.
Technology's not there yet, wait 5/10 years before jumping into it. Nobodys playing new games on ultra 240hz/4k yet and they won't ever be with how many shitty associate degree having programmers they hired back in 2020.
Based. I have a PS5 that I use once in awhile to play any AAA games aren't shit. I just stick with my Switch and all my old, jailbroken consoles and handhelds. Original hardware is always better than emulating. I don't need a PC to pay for shitty indies "inspired" by retro games when I can just boot up my retro consoles and play any retro game I want for free.
I have a 3090 gaming pc, and I don't like emulation. I have a retro collection starting from the japanese master system up to the ps3. The one thing I'm missing is a 3do
Nope. Feels good digging into my steam backlog and maxing out older games with power to spare.
If I bought ps3 or xbox copies they'd be struggling to reach 720p30.
My biggest reason for PC gaming is not being limited to modern games, since I can choose to run or emulate basically the past 40 years of releases
If you're a console-only gamer, then you're pretty much limited to the PS4 and PS5 generations unless you go out of your way to find and pay for older consoles plus their games, since the vast majority of older games aren't going to be ported to modern systems
Reminder that being able to play last gen games is a new feature again. So little is coming out these days that both the xbox and ps needed the last gen library.
And it's a limited selection of only the most popular first party shit at the price of yet another subscription to pay on top of paying to use your own internet
Nah, it's pretty comfy to pirate movies and shows for the wife and play virtually anything I want. Going to knock out Transformers Devastation with weekend.
Main problem with pc gaming is most dev don't gave a frick for optimization
Just look at eldenring, that game run so smooth on console plus pvp have zero cheater
Then look at pc version 🙁
The game ran like crap on all platforms anon. It's why people were even buying the ps4 version to play on ps5. lying doesn't make your platform better.
I don't own a single console but i played er on my friends ps5 and difference is day and night
On pc there a huge problem of shuttering and so many cheater on pve/p
There are more cheaters on console kek, and not even the fun explode your screen with visual effects kind. Its easy to give yourself 60K HP with a save editor.
It's a handheld and the only real other handheld competitor is a console which can't even run the game period and wasn't even ported to it because of that.
there a some little quirks that come with PC gaming. Maybe your controller isn't fully supported, maybe HDR doesn't turn on automatically, or the monitor you just switched to doesn't recognize your sound settings for some reason. All of these are easily fixable but it's still annoying how one day something works and for no reason it just stops working in a week.
This guy is okay, but he unironically likes that crappy new Indiana jones movie. I like what he says about halo, but he clearly isn't one for good taste.
I was a pc gamer until 2009. Started in 2003. First game I ever paid for was daggerfall, second game was the Diablo 2 expansion (I was a moron) stopped for 11 years. Came back and now it's awful
amazing how limited your brains are. you cant even insult properly. you have to understand person if you want to hurt him/her... your lazy attempt with zero correlation to target... disappointment
Ive been strictly PC since the 360 era and while Ive certainly had moments of jealousy, its never been enough to buy an entire console with its special controller and MSRP priced games.
The only advantage console gaming has is that because the hardware is bespoke first-party titles can be optimized to an unparalleled degree.
They CAN be. Not necessarily always are.
No, it's just so much better in every conceivable way. The only problem is that when people talk about some new game they played on consoles and ask me what I play and they say computer they assume I have a worse experience then them and they try to describe how good shit looks. And it's hard to not reveal your power level and correct them how you absolutely mog every aspect of thier console and I get free Internet play. I said that to one guy that asked me if I knew a cheaper way to play online and he got mad that I was "taking advantage of the devs servers", like he thought I stole free Internet play.
When i compared the 2 of them (PC or Console) and being a long time PS user since the PS2 to PS5 and how the console market changed this where the conclusions i got comparing the 2 sides:
PC
Pros: >Better deals for buying games >if you have a good CPU you can just buy a new GPU for the equivalent price of the console and get so much more for your money >You dont have to pay to play online >there is mods that give more content to your games >simulation for consoles and their games >You can do more stuff with your computer than before just having a CPU >you can have the console experience just buying a controller to your liking and without limitations to brands >The features for Nvidea and AMD GPUs are so much better than the console is dreaming to give to their users >You can used it for work, learning >you can get an option to refund games depending where you buyed them no matter the game >you can get games not limited to your countries market
Cons: >More expensive >Learning curve to get good >Need more IQ to just play games >Driver updates can frick your exprience depending on the games
Console
Pros: >No IQ needed made for kids to plug and play >No driver updates >it just does what is made for, games >Now supports mouse and keyboard for some games >they have great controllers no matter what brand you choose >There is a market to improve your experience with things made just for your console and controllers
Cons: >Limits the video game market with exclusives >Have to pay to play online and get special disccounts >You cant change the settings on games to get a better experience >Is practically a computer but is limited by greed >The GPU is not used to their fullest because of CPU limitations >The market right now is better to expend to get a Gaming PC for the same amount of money you spend on a console
I've had consoles since 4th gen and PCs since 5th. They all have their place, but I tend to prefer playing single player games on console because of fewer distractions.
I only play on pc but I don't understand masterracegays that spend so much on hardware just to play consoleportslop, you may as well just get a goystation at that point
I miss coming home, turning on my xbox and just playing a game. It was simple, easy.
Now its:
>Turn on PC >Run through 4 windows updates >Log on >Open Steam >Steam updates >Error updating >Spend 3 hours troubleshooting >GPU needs an update >Restart computer >Launch game >Needs an update >Finally get on >Games full of hackers >Game crashes
Its fricking shit, once this PC dies go back to console, theres no advantage to PC gaming anymore, just a ton of downsides.
Anon windows doesn't update like that any more. Since windows 10 game mode doesn't allow the os to interfere. Not to mention gpus don't update every week. It's like once or twice a month and they're optional. If you're going to post a fake story then at least make it believable. I don't understand why console gays can't let pc gaming exist without making things up about it.
dont pretend like you pcgays dont run a game for 15 minutes on high settings just to never play it again
dont pretend you're not utterly depressed, and deeply you know you're about to be even more depressed
and dont pretend you dont fully understand the consequences of taiwan getting invaded, and don't pretend you don't secretly know it will inevitably happen
FACT: If you have one of those glowing rainbow turds in your room instead of consoles you're not a gamer. You're a homosexual. Girls laugh at you. They see your gay multi-monitor setup for optimized goon seshes and think "yeah, this guy is a homosexual." They see your lack of any consoles or even a TV and know "he doesn't play any games." And your parents know that they made a series of mistakes that can only be solved by getting you out of the house.
I haven't fiddled with anything beyond shit like FOV, keybindings and mouse sensitivity in PC games for over 10 fricking years.
What the flying frick are you talking about?
Actually own my games >INB4 B-But P-Physical
You need a computer of some kind to back up the iso don't you? Console only and the update files are at the mercy of Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. Not to mention you at least have some kind of recourse if you want to play a pre-updated version of the game on PC while on console you have to give up literally everything to do it. Also piracy.
You might as well though and train AI waifus, porn, as well as teach yourself skills for jobs and hobbies like Blender, video editing, etc.
Console is paying $500 for the opportunity to play 3 games...and nothing else really.
>Ok I want to play games >Sorry PS5 needs to update. >No thanks > OK, b***h, you aint't doing anything else until you do. No PSN, no internet, no updating other games, nothing.
this dumb frick doesn't know that connecting a console to the internet is optional
this failed abortion doesn't know updating offline games on console is optional
bad faith af
how do you think console players who play version 1.0 discs Stay on version 1.
your moronation might be terminal.
>J-j-just don't connect to the most vital component in the entire world that's not linked to your biology. These g-g-game breaking bugs a-a-add s-skill to the game.
Replace PS5 with Steam and you're bang on. Not Sony, not Nintendo, not even fricking Microsoft consoles require online patching. You can literally decline an update and it just lets you get on with your life like it should because it's yours. Sure, you can't play mismatched versions online and you can't use the online store for the same reason, but who gives a frick? As long as the game works and it does.
Not so much steam. If an update it pending steam won't start until it's installed. If the publisher pushes out a patch, it will invalidate your steam ticket FIRST *then* attempt a download so by the time you find out "Update Available" it's already too late.
You can easily remove the DRM on Steam.
You can also pirate it, and freely do anything else on your computer not using steam, including using other launchers like GOG.
If you can't do anything else but play the disc, and can't patch out game breaking bugs or use even the online store, you're shit out of luck.
Hell, you can still keep the same version of Steam (Like Windows 7 users do), or just install steam and your games on another device, and copy it over.
I've have bought and played through so many games since I switched to primarily pc gaming. You people probably don't like games that much. Even my switch doesn't see that much use since most jap games are releasing on steam.
No in fact switching to PC is probably the best decision I ever made. So many excellent games at insanely cheap prices. Pretty much every game worth a shit (indies) will come out on PC so I feel like I don't miss out on anything. Sales are showing that people making the switch to PC pretty much don't care about consoles anymore and will just wait for the 1/2 games they want
>Buy a PS5 >Have to pay to play online >Have access to the PS5 library and a few backwards compatible titles that are sanctioned and supported >Pay 70 dollars for new releases
>Buy a PC >Don't pay for online play, even MMO's have free private servers >Access to every video game made, for free >Easily modify and fix video games for fun, making a decent game better >On the off chance I want to buy a game, resellers offer them for a mere fraction of PS5 game prices >Can watch any movie or anime for free >Can listen/download any song/read any book/enjoy ad-free internet browsing with plugins
Damn it feels good to be a gangsta. A real gangsta-ass homie plays his cards right.
I'm not gonna watch that moron's video but the thumbnail tells me he probably considers PC a bad choice just because you have to troubleshoot it once every 3 years or swap parts around once yours become obsolete, and that's honestly pathetic, PC building these days is absolutely braindead, everything has unique plugs now so you can no longer do something moronic like plug the pins that go to the MOBO in your GPU, PSU makers now account for all the 80 IQ broccoli haired amerimutts that get into the hobby.
No. 360 was the last decent console (PS3 only became good near the end of its life). I left after that and every game worth it's salt has gotten ported or multiplatted to the PC.
Only gen z morons that grew up on the xbox 360 and then switched to PC because xbone had such a shitshow of a reveal with no used or shared games would even think about this.
>250
I just checked how many games I have.
I've got.
144 epic games (my main game launcher)
61 steam games.
11 gog games but I barely play them, they were all free with prime.
19 windows store games.
1 battle net game.
48 amazon gaming games
8 ea games.
16 Ubisoft games.
Last console I had was a 360, glad I missed whatever happened after that I honestly dont know what the order of xbox console releases is after the 360 and cant name any exclusives worth playing either
no, if anything I regret not switching sooner. sold my PS4 and games to buy the components little by little. ended up saving money in the long run through sales
It is for Ganker where the average poster age is 14 ( down from 15 three years ago btw)
There really isn't any reason to own a PS5 or Xbox since they literally have no games or hardware features. Back in 2020 as backup maybe, just because graphics card pricing was dumb and stock hard to get.
I would unironically quit video games if PCs didn't exist, pretty much 99% of games I enjoy (RPGs) are dogshit without mods that remove the pozz and shit UI/gameplay balancing and improve the graphics/waifu.
I hate having to deal with DRM when I buy legitimate copies, but if I don't want to do that, I could always put on an eyepatch, if I REALLY do still feel like playing something. Having to make separate accounts from where you bought a game just to play it is literally a humiliation ritual. I don't wanna do it anymore and will skip games on that basis alone. Launchers are cancer and we'd be better off if everywhere handled installs like GOG.
I don't get it, why are consoles constantly held up as "da best thing evar!" when PC could do alot more things than a console could ever do. I had a PS Vita, PS3 and a PS4. Whilst they were all pretty nice to play with my brothers they simply just don't have as much videogames as PC does and 90% of games cannot be modded on console. I guess consoles are convenient and cheap? But you could also just build a decent pc for five-hundred dollars nowadays and you can emulate console games onto the computer.
No.
I love being able to tinker with shit. I love customizing shit. I love getting great deals or simply pirating it. I love being able to just stream my shit to my TV if I want to.
PC rewards you if you're willing to do some basic troubleshooting/tinkering.
Anyone who says >no I don't have time for that
is someone fundamentally not curious about the world and not interested in learning new things and their opinions can be disregarded.
>But you could also just build a decent pc for five-hundred dollars nowadays and you can emulate console games onto the computer.
I'll be honest with you, I don't see building a decent PC for $500 raw without second hand parts being viable to play the latest triple AAA games unless you get really lucky with some deals. Consoles can at least usually play the latest shit since games can be optimized for them and are usually developed for them in mind.
That said, if you build a pretty decent PC now, it'll last you years if properly taken care of and we don't see a huge requirement in specs for games which I'd be surprised to see.
There's probably some extra shit they do beyond the hood but I expect most just do lock it to medium. I do think it's neat when some games feature different modes for performance/graphics.
No i don't
my gaming journey started with PS2, great console with good and huge number of vidya.
Some years after i switched to PS3, still good console and it still serves me today with no problem.
About to 2 years ago i switched exclusively to PC when i managed to finally save up for a decent rig and i do not regret it at all.
I can play Switch games through Yuzu
I can play Xbox 360 games with Xenia
I can play PS2 games i never played with PS2 emu
and i can also play some PS3 games i never played with emu
PC is king, consoles past PS3 have no meaning or value tbh, that includes weak ass handheld like Switch, Switch 2 looks to be even more useless with just slightly better performance but i guess if you are thirdie or poorgay and don't wanna save up for PC then i guess its okay for the very few number of worth Nintendo games.
>tfw spent 10 minutes trying to plug in a USB connector to my motherboard once >turned out I simply had to use more force but I was really scared of bending any pins
I genuinely don't see the point of consoles.
Switch I can get since it's portable and you can play it on the go but why would I get an Xbox or a Playstation?
Some people play like 4 games per generation and to them its easier and cheaper to just get a console. I see it everyday. A friend of mine a few years ago got a ps4 just to play COD, fortnite and spiderman. He later also bought worms wmd for whenever we would come over to his house. He really didnt have interest in anything else, doesn't even have a desktop PC.
This board would be so much better without the third world morons from Chinese to streetshitters that dabble in console wars thinking it has any significance.
Controllers offer the benefit of 24+ inputs without even having to move your hands. For third person action games, fighting games, racing games, platformers, and some other obscure genres, controllers smash M+K. M+K wins whenever you need to aim a projectile weapon or manage a lot of menus.
I never "swicth" to anything, if I want to play a PS5 game I play it, if I want to play a Xbox game (mostly retrocompatible ones) I play it, if I want to play a Switch game I open Ryujinx.
Nah. I bought a gtx 1080 and it was worth it. Gonna buy a ps5 for gta 6 and then buy a monster PC so I can play it in 4K.
But overall vidya sucks now. It's all woke, companies keep raising prices, multiplayer is at best forced 50/50, games release completely broken etc.
The core console experience is having to get up, unplug the Gamecube because you're done playing Smash, plug in the PS2 because it's time for Dark Cloud, and return to the couch.
I don't see PC gaming as less convenient. My computer chair is extremely comfy. And 99% of games work fine out of the box; some of them even automatically detect your hardware and select reasonable settings for you, for those who don't even like selecting between low, medium, high, and ultra.
Modders are the ones who have to deal with the game freaking out for god-knows-why.
Only reason why I tolerated console gayming during the past 20 years was because I was too much of a poorgay to build a PC. I've finally built mine and surprise surprise, it's exactly what I wanted
Hmmmm I feel like playing Sly cooper 3 today... >PS2 games looks like blurry shit on a modern display even with a component cable >my CRT TV doesn't support NTSC games, so I would have to play the game at 50FPS like a fricking deranged psycopath >PS3 controller doesn't work for some reason, can't use my fully functional PS2 controller on the PS3 without buying stupid ass adapters >need to install CFW so I can use xinput/directinput controllers >somehow install everything via FTP without using a controller >homebrew fricking sucks, has insane input lag and some games aren't even compatible >game isn't available on PS4 due to ~~*reasons*~~
Man, if only I had built a PC so I could emulate PCSX2 and instantly start playing the game without any issues oh wait, I do have a gaming PC because I am not a fricking moron
Feels good man. Shame that I lost like 10 hours of progress since it took me way too long to take the PC pill. Never touching consoles ever again
2 >man, a plateformer game mixed with a bit of stealth? This is so nice! >well, it's very simple, but of course, I wasn't expecting Splinter Cell or Thief after all >These hipopotamus levels (Press A A A A A A) >and now the turtle >urgh... >Ah, back to Sly >dancing mini game where "you have to press the right button like a QTE :)"
miss me with that shit. And don't get me started on how you play the same level over and over with slightly different objectives just to make the game longer.
Well, check 1 then. It's LITERALLY a plataformer game mixed with a bit of stealth. I prefer 2/3's structure a lot more since it actually makes you feel like you're a group of thieves performing a huge heist, but 1 is genuinely a really good plataformer with great movement and collectibles. There's also only some minigames and you pretty much only control Sly
Frick no, exclusives and reasons to get a console have only degraded over the years as first-party support, better VR options and graphics settings for PC's have generally increased, modding and emulation scenes give plenty reasons alone and nothing beats playing on actual fanmade servers (for games that still support them) with content you can make yourself as well. And then all that doubles if you're also into full-fledged gamedev like I slowly have been getting into. Sure you're trading consolewars for cardwars and the pricetags are an uphill climb for people who don't have proper-paying careers, but the results are absolutely worth it.
>muh ownership
Consoles killed this concept all the same, unless you don't play past sixth-gen consoles you aren't getting out of that hole either. At least USB storage and static Steam accounts are a thing as opposed to repurchasing your games every fricking gen.
>At least USB storage and static Steam accounts are a thing as opposed to repurchasing your games every fricking gen.
You xab't resell your steam games.
Console wins
And you're on competitive disadvantage on console if you don't pay for the online subscription for practice, don't have a TV with input delay and don't have the $199 pro controller
Also, it's awesome buying a PS4 at launch and then having to rebuy the same console later on because of the pro model
>LAN fiber
What does that have to do with consoles vs. PC? That's your internet setup. >544hz
What? You just need 120hz+, which is your typical gaming monitor. At 120hz, you literally are getting to the point where even the people with the best eyesight won't notice the improvement as the number goes up.
You have any proof for that? Especially for standard play? And I didn't say 60, moron. Even if you could notice the difference side-by-side, FPS obviously has massive diminishing returns, and you'd probably have to squint. 20 -> 30 is a much bigger jump than 30 -> 60 in terms of visual improvements, and 30 -> 60 is a much bigger jump than 60 -> 120. In other words, 60 -> 120 is a smaller jump than 20 -> 30.
544 hz sounds like a ripoff for people who need to have the biggest numbers even if they don't really understand what they mean.
>You have any proof for that?
Are you asking for the 255+ fps thing or the "competitive" thing?
If it's the later - read
>you literally are getting to the point where even the people with the best eyesight won't notice the improvement as the number goes up.
To be fair, a 544 Hz is an objective competitive advantage over anything that has lower refresh rate, disregarding response time and input lag for simplicity's sake.
You don't even need to perceive difference between a 544 Hz and, say, 240 Hz, to objectively have frames present themselves between your eyes at a faster pace, thus reducing the delay between screen refreshes, effectively reducing your reaction time to the new information being shown on screen.
It does get into heavy diminishing returns the higher you go, but it is an objective competitive advantage.
.
If it's the former, the research regarding this topic tends to be done using the bleeding edge approach straight from the 1950s i.e. >After wasting millions of dollars, scientists finally confirmed that some people are in fact capable of seeing beyond 24 fps under very specific circumstances! (inconclusive) >No evidence has been found that the human eye is capable of seeing beyond 30 fps (conclusive)
Despite literally everyone with a pair of eyes capable of walking into an electronics store and immediately noticing the difference.
I think, there was a somewhat recent study that did a massive breakthrough and confirmed that some people are actually capable of perceiving 60 Hz. Imagine that.
Seriously though, moronic scientist being moronic and tech-illiterate outside of their field is nothing new.
There were experiments that weren't specifically designed to make up absurd shit about refresh rates, but instead were measuring human reaction time through visual stimuli.
The short of it, translating it from milliseconds to FPS, most people have reaction time of actually sub-60 Hz equivalent when the stimulus is "flash" of darkness but reaction to the flash of light can well exceed 1000 Hz equivalent.
The bottom line is, the human eye doesn't "see in frames". The vision is analogous, if you will.
There is no upper limit to how fast you can be presented with information for that to make a difference.
But, again, we do get into heavy diminishing returns after some point.
And no, you are not crazy. Personally, I find the >high refresh rate smoothness
to be simply above 90 Hz - I'd probably need another monitor to try and perceive any difference between that and 120 Hz.
But that is not what a "competitive advantage" is about.
Even if that weren't the case. Higher frames still reduce input lag. You will fire faster, move faster, flick faster and do everything faster than somebody with 60fps
Some multiplayer netcode is even so fricked your rate of fire is increased when you have higher frames. So if you're wondering why that guy emptied his entire magazine when you've only shot two bullets he probably has 300+ fps
>you literally are getting to the point where even the people with the best eyesight won't notice the improvement as the number goes up.

as another anon pointed out. this is the same as on console. also advantages like higher refresh rate and your hardware literally only matters when you are better than 99.99% of the player base already. this is the same line of thinking as "you can't play a fighting game without a 600 dollar controller" while kids using office keyboards are holding the top ranks lmao
>ok but what about hardware ? you would just cry about how everyone is using 300 dollar controllers instead. realistically your hardware is irrelevant until you are literally at the top level of play. i have a mate who's pretty much top level play on CS and he plays on a shitty old LCD tv at (barely) 60fps. don't get me wrong at a point it does become a factor. but odds are it's not a factor for (you)
>this is the same line of thinking as "you can't play a fighting game without a 600 dollar controller" while kids using office keyboards are holding the top ranks lmao
If you know how to avoid ghosting, office keyboards are better than every other controller aside from dedicated leverless.
true but it won't stop noobs from pretending that they are gate kept by financial factors lol
>this is the same line of thinking as "you can't play a fighting game without a 600 dollar controller" while kids using office keyboards are holding the top ranks lmao
If you know how to avoid ghosting, office keyboards are better than every other controller aside from dedicated leverless.
Upfront cost is worse than ever dude to memeflation and the crypto gold rush. Show me a PC that can outdo PS5 performance for less than $1500. You can't.
my last console was a ps3. I just refuse to pay twice to use my internet. That's the hill I will die on. And don't try to sell me these lies about it being a cost they're trying to recuperate, else why is steam free? Why is xbox PC free?
i have two more pc at my place both with dual boot win7/10
they are more modern obviously
this is old one at my parent place with xp/win7 dual boot
it work and i can play some old game son it np
>Being an idot circa 2000 AD >not just exclusive games but entire genres are platform specific >being an idort circa 2024 >like 5 games you can now play that you couldn't if you owned a PC
I don't get the point any more. I am one myself, have a PS5, PC, Series S and Switch. Definitely not doing it next generation, the only one other than the PC I get some use out of is the Series S and that's just as an emulator I can use in the lounge, the only console game I'm looking forward to is the new Astro Bot game.
Playing on the consoles just feels substandard now, UIs are clearly designed for PC with tiny fonts you can't read from the couch and virtual mouse cursors you have to control with an analog stick, performance issues with everything. It honestly reminds me of playing console ports on PC back in the day..
This seems like the thread. I'm planning an upgrade, here's what I've selected >Z790 LGA1700 MOBO >i7 13700 CPU >4080 super GPU
Already have a 850W PSU. Am I bottlenecking anything with my cpu/gpu choices? I haven't done this in 7 years
After being a PC gamer since the early 2000s, I'll probably be moving to console for the first time due to GTA VI and some other issues. PC hardware is just too expensive in my shithole and I am tired of games not working properly with controllers on OC (as M+KB is only really good for shooters and strategy games). Console is far better for the "shut your brain off" experience.
i do
built a decent pc and it cant even run gta 5 on lowest settings without shitting itself
my 8 years old switch still runs games better than my newly built pc
pc building is just a scam marketed by shitskin pajeets on this site
take my advice and buy a console instead of wasting your money on pcs
No, I actually switched to consoles (it started with switch) and sold my PC. Imagine being a grown man and still gaming behind a desk like a sweaty cuck instead of lying in couch with a controller and games on a huge TV and surround audio system.
It just works dude. All this does is show that you don't have an argument. You just want to hate pc gaming. Just because I play on pc doesn't mean your consoles are invalidated. We can enjoy different platforms. I have my pc behind my tv and connect my controllers through bluetooth. It's that simple. Steam big picture mode handles anything that needs a keyboard. It'll only get better and easier as valve keeps investing in these features.
-Don't have to deal with bullshit like Fire Stick or whatever to watch any services or just plain youtube
-Since it's actually a computer, you can have full browsers with ad blocking plugins
-You can browser whatever, use whatever programs you want. Do anything
Overall, you don't have to be desk cucked to do anything or use the shitty cellphone or table to browse on the couch >yes and it's the same shitty experience like using Steam Deck docked to TV
???
What's the difference between that and your desk if you're just gonna use a controller anyways. The only thing PC gaming on the couch is bad at is for Keyboard only games
lol, it's easier than ever to get into PC Gaming, less problems overall
Even on Proton on Linux there's barely any big issues now, most things just works unless you're a total moron who barely can use a PC in the first place
Don't think I ever "switched" to PC. I always had a PC as far back as I could remember. I was playing Doom on my 386 alongside Mega Man X and Gunstar Heroes when I was in elementary school. I just stopped caring about consoles around the PS3/360/Wii era because they became redundant. I could emulate anything Nintendo was offering, and all the Sony/Microsoft stuff ended up on PC anyway.
No, I play exclusively what I refer to as Austism games. This means that on console, 1 of 3 things will happen
A) game doesn't exist on console
B) console version is many updates behind, or not getting updated at all
C) the control scheme on the console is horrible
I regret trying consoles.
They're slow, the controls are bad, the resolution and frames per second are bad, the game's prices too high, etc
Went back to my lovely PC, while my consoles are gathering dust
switching?
i buy everything. consoles, handhelds, and own a PC.
i just like to play games. thats it. I dont have feel like i have to shill for one specific platform. thats fricking stupid and i dont know why people still do that to this day.
I used to do that, but I can't justify it this generation. The xbox doesn't offer much and the playstation only seems to have astrobot. It's a sad state of affairs. At least the switch is still getting games.
>At least the switch is still getting games.
yeah. just remasters. what was their last big, notable new game? tears of the kingdom?
that peach game came out afterwards but seems like nobody even fricking talks about that one. lol
and then after actual first party titles, you just have either shitty versions of multiplatform games. or games that were once exclusive but now are on other platforms.
The last games I've bought on switch have been unicorn overlord and Miku fitness boxing. I mainly use it to play the few jap games that don't release on pc. My favorite exclusive so far has been Astral chain though, and pikmin 4 was really neat.
I moved from PC to console. Why? I want to play games. That's it. No drivers, no fuss - just games. All I want to do it just play games, dude. A console does that. It just works. Physical media is a plus, and I can sell my games when I am done with them. >But but yo dont uwon ur games!!
doesitplay.org
Anyways, I have realized PC gaming is a goddamn joke, and whoever plays on a PC is a porn addict or a low-life that spends all their life in front of 3 screens. I have a PS5 and a Chromebook, what more do you need? >kek chromebuuk and ps5
porn addict lamao
Good for you dude, but I like to play games and it's why I play on pc and switch. Pc gaming just works and if it's too hard for you then I fear what that means for your intelligence. These things are moron proof now.
>free games(pirated) >free manga and anime(pirated) >notepad(free) >ability to make my taxes >ability to make ABC agents that spy on me scream in disgust
>more mature
No
I've seen the steam deck wanking to know that is waaaaay worse then not true, even the amd fanboyism.
The pc community is aids, imagine being so bored out of your mind that you cry about launchers.
I don't care for PC either, but I do have a Deck for old exclusives and emulation. I used to build rigs but Windows sucks balls and SteamOS isn't good enough (yet) for me to turn away from console gaming. When the Switch 2 comes out, I could see myself playing mostly on that since modern PC exclusives either aren't good or are RPG Maker-tier and don't require anything better than a Deck.
I don't even understand how anyone can even play on consoles. I wouldn't be able to cope if I couldn't Alt+Tab to something any time I wanted, or if I had to sit with a controller on a couch that isn't close enough to the screen to properly see everything in the game.
The thing is... We play the game. We don't need to alt tab like morons.
Good for you dude, but I like to play games and it's why I play on pc and switch. Pc gaming just works and if it's too hard for you then I fear what that means for your intelligence. These things are moron proof now.
I played on PC for 10+ years and sometimes drivers prevented me from playing a game. Games would crash, games would be poorly optimized for PC. Legit PC crumbs.
Once again dude. That's a you problem. I haven't had those issues. Sure you have to sometimes troubleshoot an old game or something doesn't release right, but to pretend consoles are a smooth and perfect experience is a joke. Especially modern consoles. I've been pc gaming for years and unless you really can't grasp basic concepts then you shouldn't struggle with it at all.
It's not about being able to do certain things or not, it's about valuing your time. I can troubleshoot. Heck, I played on Linux for 5 years or so. But do I want to? No. I want to play games.
I can't play shooters with a controller
Sorry I'm just not going to do it
Keyboard and mouse = work and for sweaty esports player that hate fun
Controller = fun and for people that want to have fun
Cont
"not valuing your time" Woah imagine taking less than 5 minutes to fix an issue. Dude just admit you either don't know what you're talking about or are just a tad slow. There's no issue with that. Consoles are full of issues that you pretend to not notice because it benefits your "argument"
>The last games I've bought on switch have been unicorn overlord and Miku fitness boxing
i guess switch owners are used to just gnawing on bones.
"play the few jap games that don't release on pc." Nice selective reading anon.
Games tend to either run poorly or look muddy. Worst part is now they want you to choose through "performance" or "visual" modes. Vrr implementation is spotty and on a per game basis. Rise of ronin for example would constantly flicker in and out of vrr range and that's an "exclusive".

I think it looks nice. Plus, we talked about the platform - consoles and pc - not how it looks. Name more issues please. Spotty and muddy issue in the eyes of a superior pc porn addict. Lmao

Just calling me a porn addict doesn't mean anything nor does it invalidate what I told you . I gave you three quick issues that I had with modern consoles and you hand wave them away because it's fine to you or you choose to be blind to it. I don't care that you like consoles, but I hate gays that pretend to know what pc gaming is.
consoles are a crutch, a surrogate to games, games are made on pc to be played on pc, consoles are a poor man's way of adapting
>1080p render resolution as a standard began on pc, with next generation consoles mimicking afterwards >4k render resolution as a standard also began on pc, with next generation consoles poorly upscaling lower resolutions to 4k, being unable to render it natively >raytracing began on pc, specifically on nvidia hardware, with next generation consoles rushing to try and implement a surrogate alternative which to this day still works with prebaked shaders since the hardware cannot calculate path tracing on the same manner >all large graphical leaps happened on pc, for pc. the new unreal engine 5 photorealistic demos can only be run on computers with 32gb+ of ram, which no console can even come close of replicating
if you have a console, you are poor. you have a cheap mimic, a surrogate. and just as a homeless man cannot choose what to eat, you cannot choose on what to play. because you are poor.
this whole thread remind me about one of my acquaintances from time when I was studying
he used to play Neverwinter Nights with amazing high FPS of 3-5. Yes three to five it was like watching slideshow.
I checked his PC and installed card drivers and then it jumped to over 40. His face was like
It was like 20 years ago but it still make me laugh
My neighbour gave me a non-playable CD demo of Deathtrap Dungeon when I was 8. I was inexplicably able to dig it up a few years ago, none of my other shit has survived
I'd love to actually see a study on the average IQ of PC vs console gamers. I'd unironically bet good money there's a statistically significant difference.
I never switched to it and never will. Never liked pc gaming because for decades it got almost no Japanese games that were worth a damn and those are what I primarily play. Sure that’s changed now but why switch to it when consoles already have what I want? No physical media is another mark against it and then there’s the community that might be the most obnoxious group of homosexuals I’ve ever seen that look down on people like buying thousands of dollars worth of hardware makes you more “hardcore” than someone that plays a lot of games of different genres. I never understood that about the pcmr pcgays
>the most obnoxious group of homosexuals I’ve ever seen that look down on people
huh? console morons have genuine actual anger over which console someone bought. no one does this on PC. >inb4 amd vs intel vs nvidia shit
nice disingenuous moronation.
PCtards have constant wars over storefronts/launchers in addition to AMD vs. Intel. Linux vs. Windows threads are the same shit too. Laptop vs. Desktop, prebuilt vs. custom, UMPC vs. laptop. Only one being disingenuous is you.
>PCtards have constant wars over storefronts/launchers
anyone that genuinely wants to play the game is doesnt care where it is. console morons do. were not the same like you corpo penis slurpers.
>Linux vs. Windows threads
are frequently filled with trolls no one takes seriously. you pretending Ganker is the face of the internet is due to your delusional moronation like previously stated.
>Laptop vs. Desktop, prebuilt vs. custom
lol? literally no one cares about this in real life. if you play on pc you play on pc.
No amount of coping stops everything I mentioned being a truth about discussing PC gaming on the internet. You can't magic it away like China does with Tiananmen Square, everyone can see PCgays arguing with each other every day here.
>yes i am totally correct! everyone on the face of the earth uses Ganker and this is the face of the internet everyone reads this!
stay delusional and moronic lol. you failed the provide and argument so stay mad.
Uuuuhhh
Honestly the fact that these storefront warring videos are made by fat 40 year olds is just icing on the cake tbh.

I am correct and you're wrong + coping. Deal with it, hypocrite Black person moron.
>Never liked pc gaming because for decades it got almost no Japanese games that were worth a damn and those are what I primarily play. Sure that’s changed now but why switch to it when consoles already have what I want?
Because, even by your logic, it makes perfect sense: new Japanese games come to PC officially, old Japanese games come to PC via emulation.
pc gaming post 2013 was the only good option for playing games. the only people coping about it were morons that couldnt afford it back then and morons that cannot afford it today.
I never switched to it, I'm a PC gamer since '98
i can smell these posts
Actually console gamers are generally the smelliest, as console gaming is lazy. They collect farts on their couch as they eat Doritos and drink mountain dew all day.
yeah, too bad theories can't beat evidence, buddy
fricking this. every time i buy a used console, it is literally the most filthy shit ever. those "people" are incapable of just doing a quick wipe down which would take like 2 minutes max
Those are pc gamers selling their console that they bought on a whim.
First time you smell a masculine scent full of testosterone?
Why? They're not PS5 nogs
They are PCurries though. Stinky.
same. played on PC my entire life since my brother introduced me to Red Alert 2.
Same, only consoles I ever tried were my cousin's PS2 and then my brother's Switch.
based, I regret buying a PS5 when I already have a pc
I fell for the idort meme and I'm not doing this again
the idort meme died last gen
Idort has meant portable + pc for a good while now.
Even back when ps4 had exclusives they were tied to a system that made jet engine noises and could only run them in unstable 30 fps.
Then NEVER tell you this, but the PS4 was much LOUDER than a pc.
I've been playing bloodborne in my cousin's ps4 and I sometimes have to stop because the thing feels like it's going to explode. Thank frick ghosts of tsushima is coming to PC because that game makes the thing get so loud it's nearly unplayable.
>Idort has meant portable + pc for a good while now.
And now that PC is portable, it's all PC.
this
Yeah, you play console for a bit but a console is purely for videogames, a pc is for everything.
You get a PC and then you use it for playing games sometimes
Fippy bippy
yeah been on PC since 97 or so. Started with a Hewlett Packard and WC3, AoE2, Morrowwind, and BG2. What a time to grow up a gamer

I had a SNES and a N64 when I was a kid, but always wanted a PC and got one in 2004.

World would be fixed overnight if every console and mobile phone on the planet was destroyed
>muh consoles are holding gaming back
I've never seen a dev actually say this. Only homosexuals on the internet.
world would've been a better place if consoles never existed
when is the last time you saw a dev tell the truth about what was wrong with gaming?
people don't talk about a lot of things to protect people like you, they think you don't have any agency and are barely sentient
(they are right)
Watch Dogs is the most famous example of consoles holding back gaming
https://gamerant.com/watch-dogs-visual-downgrade-ps4-xbox-one-714/
>In a new interview with the Evening Standard, Watch Dogs senior producer Dominic Guay reminds people that "the first showing of Watch Dogs came in summer 2012, before anyone knew what the Next Gen of consoles and hardware would be." The producer explains that he and Ubisoft "did our best at the time to predict what that would be and always were forward that this first showing was running on a very powerful PC." Essentially, the lack of information that the development team had on the PS4 and the Xbox One meant that they perhaps overestimated how good the final release would look on those consoles.
I don't think as many people believe this as they used to. We've since come to realize that devs are just incompetent and the games we imagined we would've had without consoles were never going to become a reality because they're more expensive and harder to make.
>I've never seen a dev actually say this.
I'm pretty sure that was said about specifically Xbox Series S a couple of times recently.
Series S says hello.
>cyberpunk 2077
Because devs don't care about the future or development of games. They care about selling their product to as many people as possible. Which is why movie games are such a "hit" among devs.
Ds2 looks like shit thanks to console zoomy newbie, now frick off
hi, homosexual
star citizen devs did
make of that what you wll
Think of all the shit that wouldn't have been cut from FNV if they didn't have to take their specs into consideration
Limitation makes for good games. Games have essentially zero real technical limitations so games are lazy and bad.
Just three examples of games from recent years that were all compromised by weak console hardware and devs being forced to achieve multiplatform parity with them.
lmao
They literally b***h all the time about Series S, also last gen with PS4/One being toasters and games like TW3 getting gimped to oblivion
consoles hold back video games in relation to gameplay innovation so yes, you are wrong and moronic.
Most games that innovated have come out of Japan almost exclusively on consoles. All pc has had are regurgitated RTS and shooter games
>All the west does is rip off Japanese ideas while not doing them any justice
i dont even know how you can get this moronic.... like what. you do know that majority of the games that the west plays are made in the west with ideas not from japan..?
>ellipsis
>no argument
I accept your concession, DEI westcuck shill.
nice reading comprehension mr ESL.
This. Homeworld 3 is GOTY and PC-only for a reason.
Why Would I consoles don't have sim city 4 therefore already inferior.
No but I miss actually giving a shit about achievements.
The era of Xbox 360 gamerscore prostitutes was a fun time to be alive. Steam achievements just don't hit the same.
No
I get to have more, better games and I get to shit on thirdies and wageslaves
Switching?
Buy and Ad loser
Why waste money when it would just get adblocked anyway?
Not at all, in fact it's the best time to be one since more companies are realizing they should be porting to PC
I love it when I see a Wojack style thing in a Youtube thumbnail.
It's an immediate alarm bell to just block the fricking channel because nothing will be funny or entertaining. Just like posting here really.
>getting filtered by 'jaks
I've never owned a console.
no
let me guess:
>upfront cost is too much
>messing with settings hard
>controllers are almost always useless due to no aim assist on pc versions
>if you want a good one you have to build it yourself... which is le hard!!
>Nintendo
>cheap pricing
lmao nice headcanon
>controllers
Gyro
Just realized Nintendo's winning move. They sell their consoles cheaply (compared to the competition), so everyone buts, but charge £50 for their games and never ever drop the prices so that people who already own the console will feel compelled to eventually buy more of these full price games, slowly but surely making up the cost of the cheaper selling price for the consoles. Whereas people will outright not buy the latest Playstation even if there's a couple of exclusive games they want on it because the price of the console is too much, even though Switch owners eventually pay that much and more in order to purchase Nintendo exclusives.
nintendo is the only console sold for more than it's worth, anon. nintendo sucks their users dry with their OVERPRICED consoles, controllers AND games
even lefties gonna tell you: "it's always fair game to pirate nintendo games"
>competent gaming PCs are now cheaper than the highest selling console
>morons STILL say it's too expensive
>highest selling console with the most exclusives is less powerful and runs games much worse than said gaming PCs (said gaming PC also emulates the console's exclusives at much higher framerates too)
>morons STILL cry about muh optimization
>competent and affordable gaming PCs can now literally be bought prebuilt without even bothering with PC building
>morons STILL cry it's too hard WAAAAAA
Just buy a fricking Steam Deck if you're too low IQ to fit GPU in slot. They are literally cheaper than Switches now.
Also love how he uses slop games like Halo Infinite to cry about poor optimization. Like any non-moronic PC gamer is playing that garbage? Current/last gen games aren't even worth pirating.
>competent gaming PCs are now cheaper than the highest selling console
>go to settings to activate windows
>implying
10/10 bait image
>he doesn't know
a 4090 is double the price of a ps5, and thats just the gpu
>inb4 you dont need something that powerful
anything less wont be able to run games that a console would
Name 5 games that require a 4090.
GTA 6
GTA VI
GTA 18/3
GTA 8-2
GTA 5 the sequel
Full gameplay for VI hasn't even been shown
VI will come out on PS5 which has a GPU equivalent to an RX 5700. It will definitely not need a 4090 to run unless Rockstar India is handling the port. GTA V's PC port ran on literal toasters even by 2014 standards.
If you're playing at 4k like you should be, the vast majority.
Stop making excuses for your poorhomosexualry and stop playing slop games.
>a 4090 is double the price of a ps5, and thats just the gpu
yes, one of hundreds you can choose from
>anything less won't be able to run games that a console would
but no consoles have the games i like. consoles cost way more in the long run due to online membership and having to buy all the games. even if i had a 4090 the games i would play would be.... the exact same games i play on my 980 lol
they aren't though, the switch lite is 199, and even less refurbished. The switch is extremely cheap and is actually available in stores around the world.
If consolegays weren't moronic, they would be making the argument that it's moronic to spend a high amount of money getting the most out of slop games and butchered pozzware (which is all modern AAA gaming is nowadays).
But they don't because they are cattle.
because pc is the best and cheapest way to play mid-to-low spec non AAA games
No one drops $3000 on a machine to run indie games, brainlet.
yes, exactly
buying a cheap machine to run indie games is better than both consoles and gayman pc
>$3000
>mid-to-low
console babies really are lobotomized
meanwhile it's pc sharts who actively pretend that everything sub $3000 in american prices (so $4-5k everywhere else) is console tier shit
it is. If you buy a PC to play higher resolutions and frame rates, but buy a shit PC so the resolution and frame rate is still dire then you're a fricking idiot and you might as well have just stayed with a cheap console
>wahhh if it's not 4k120 fps it's dire!
and here we have a typical axewound pc troony
i'm a pc owner and it cost 4x the price of a console but is still running 1080p 45fps in most games
yes you're a moron. well done
>4x the price of a console but is still running 1080p 45fps in most games
literally doesn't happen but cope harder troony
israelite enablers like you who pretend that top level cpu and no less than xx80 card is not even a pc need to rot in hell
I would take a console over a shit mid-range or older PC every time.
>more troony rambling
don't forget to buy a 5090 next year troon
yeah you only 60fps 1080p
anything above is troonycore
> you only need a pc to run 60fps at 1080p
you mean like a console does?
except they don't lol
You do know you can change resolutions in a console, right, you can see clear differences in image quality when it's set to 4k or 1440p etc.
yes but you will have much lower quality than PC on the same FPS and resolution
it might do on my PC. My PC cost a lot more than a console does. Other people in this threads PC's not so much.
I bet most people crying about consoles are still running 1080p monitors.
whats wrong with 1080p? Its the only resolution you need, maybe 1440p at most, anything above is a meme and scam just like RT lol.
>what's wrong with 1080p
it looks like shit.
I built a rig that can roughly match the PS5 for $400. Suck it.
^these liars think that people can't look up prices for graphics cards, processors, memory modules, power supply units, motherboards, and computer cases that are Worth a Damn.
Even the 1st three components^ can set you back
https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/LGgXsY/entry-level-intel-gaming-build
Well you don't really need a case so you can take that and get to ~$500 without a singular sale or trying too hard. Any man worth their salt can just use scrap wood. A woman may have to get a man to do it for her.
You can also ind a few Optiplexes online at eBay or Mercari for ~$150 and plop a $200 GPU and a PSU in them and be fine gtoo.
^what is this trash indie/ emulate-old-games machine
this is not worth a damn
Buy used parts. Buy parts from China. Reuse an old case. There are many corners you can cut and still get away with it.
wow. investing in Crap/ Trash.
stop being cheap or poor.
Factual
>put a black woman on Fable 3 cover
>can't play as a black woman
No. What a stupid thread
Nope, PC had the best exclusives last year.
>buy a console for gaming
>buy the competing console to access its exclusives
>buy older gen consoles to play games only available on them
>buy a PC too because the consoles are useless for anything other than games
Would you just look at all that money I saved.
>exclusives
those are being phased out hard
Switched to PC in 2008 when my xbox360 died, and I've never looked back.
You have to have low IQ to have issues with PC
The upsides have been tremendous, but getting random issues that other people don't is a nightmare problem with them. You can be up shit's creek with a game patch completely fricking you over for reasons you don't get. is it something else you have installed? is it an incompatible driver? Who knows
this is true, but each successive generation of gpus, cpus and games seems to mostly minimise this, early access games are awful for this stuff though, but the bug-fests of a decade ago are definitely becoming rarer.
They'll never go away until pcs become less modular though, as hard as that is to admit.
Nah, consoles are so much worse they're not even worth considering. The only reason to limit yourself to consoles is if you can't afford any better.
No but I do play games on my tv pc with a controller more now
Buying a console is moronic, I have access to virtually every game ever made on my computers
Only because they largely stopped making the games that brought me to the platform
>RTS is dead
>RPGs have become dating sims
>Adventure games are dead
>MMOs are dead
Only thing left are a few strategy games like Paradox stuff or Battle Brothers
the only reason i'd ever "switch" to pc is if i never wanted to play games again. pc "gaming" is a joke, but not a very good one.
I've always played on PC and console. More PC nowadays, but up through gen 8 I was way heavier on console for multiplats, just because there were less hackers, less horseshit, and less chinks.
Now with crossplay none of that holds true so it makes no sense to spend the extra money on a console. It's slightly cheaper but my 1070 still works to play a huge majority of everything I'm actually interested in, and I saved up over the course of covid to pick up a 3090 for pretty cheap, and I don't think I'll have any issues running any game that comes out for quite a long time, with my secondary PC with the 1070 in it being used for guests or kids or my girlfriend.
my last console was a ps2
I switched to PC from NES.
It was a massive, monumental improvement.
Never regretted it once.
Consoles were legitimately at the cutting edge from the early 90s to the early 00s. A PC game released in 2001 isn't going to look as good as Final Fantasy X.
There's a reason why PC gaming didn't really start building a reputation for complete technical superiority until the mid-00s.
quake was better than anything else made in the last century
>N64 gamer
>Nintendo's entire first party N64 library!
>Rare's entire N64 library (peak Rare)!
>Worth playing today? Hell yeah!
>PS1 gamer
>Square's entire PS1 library!
>Capcom's entire PS1 library!
>All of those other awesome 3rd party devs! Too many to list here!
>Worth playing today? Hell yeah!
>mid-90s PC gamer
>Quake!
>UT2004
Yeah, but he said mid-90s. If we can list newer stuff, I'll just point at how much Deus Ex had to be pared down for the PS2.
There was plenty to play on the PC too.
https://vsrecommendedgames.miraheze.org/wiki/PC
Descent and Freespace 1 and 2 tho
it's true, warcraft 2 alone basically moved me off consoles
FPSgays are mentally ill
There wasn't a single game released in the entire history of all consoles combined that's better than Might & Magic VII, let alone "released in 2001" or earlier.
So while the graphics argument might've been up in the air, the game quality argument was absolutely not.
*SHADER STUTTERS WITH EVERY DRIVER UPDATE*

shreddednerd genuinely believes 90% of fps games are halo clones but i still like him
I've recently gone back to playing on my PS4/Switch since my old desktop stopped working and there's nothing current gen that interests me. I enjoy owning the disks and being able to sell them instead of having crap that I have zero interest in replaying like I have in Steam. However if I ever need to upgrade for something and I have the choice between PC and digital only consoles they have now then obviously I'd go for the PC
Nope
The amount of options you have on PC compared to a console makes up for the price difference IMO. Unless you can't afford a decent PC I really don't think there's a reason to play on console, especially with how bad current gen consoles are.
>spend $2000 on pc
>browse Ganker all day
Get a life, sweetie.
Let me guess. You have a Ryzen 9 7950X3D and an RTX 4090, you silly boy.
>bought a rtx 4070 and a r7 7800x3d
>play nothing but doom conversion mods, modded fallout and indieshit
one day i'll play cyberpunk i swear
Played Crysis yet?
>spend 400 dollars on a pc 8 years ago.
>game every day without a care in the world
maybe you should consider selling your set up anon
I got a ryzen 7 and the most use it sees is for NGS and converting blender hentai into webms for my /trash/bros.
Oh yeah Hellblade 2 was also awesome.
>live in poo peeland
>midrange PC costs $4000

India?
But then compare how much do you have to pay for a PS5 game (plus the extra you have to pay if you want to play online), vs PC games
I refuse to give snoy any shekels to make their homosexual troon moviegames. I bought a switch for pokemon but the new games turned out shit.
Phoneposting and shitty laptops with onboard graphics are a thing.
>Console shitters are phoneposters
A lot is making sense
what even is this question? you don't need a gaming pc to use Ganker
most people have cheap PCs and a printer for studies/work
>buy cheap pc
>buy cheap console
>could have just built a good pc, but were too dumb
yeah it does all make sense
have just built a good pc, but were too dumb
no you couldn't, you're probably thinking of a budget gaming pc when i said "cheap pc", i didnt', i legit meant a pc with the specs of a late 2000s mid range pc, thats all someone who doesnt play games on their computer needs for other tasks, you can get the aforementioned combo for like 600$
>$600
>+ several hundred more for a console
yeah you could instead have just built a gaming PC, but you are stupid because you're poor, and you're poor because you're stupid.
nobody owns a printer anymore, everybody is a phone poster
well at least where i live every middle class normalgay family has a printer
Ganker seems to exclusively be brown nearly homeless NEETs based off this thread
>watch a guide on youtube on how to get a gaming pc for only a couple hundred dollars
>"you know what? i wanna be part of the masterrace"
>switch to lord almighty PC
>get the components and pay someone to assemble it
>getting ready to game
>driver issues
>BSoD
>blacks screens
>crashes
>"this cannot be...it was supposed to be the best way..."
>browse the internet for answers
>"lol he fell for the AyyyMD meme"
>"imagine buying AMD"
I miss being a child playing on my ps2, it was so simple... it just werked...still works in fact
this post wasnt meant to directly reply to anyone
What did you build? I recently put together three pcs and have had no issues. A 3060 build for my youngest brother, and a 4080 and 6700xt build for friends who want to play elden ring.
Yeah amd is a fricking pain in the ass sometimes
>6700xt owner
Only good thing is I don't need to give AMD my email just to use all the features on my card unlike Nvidia
If that's your main concern then you'll be happy to know that the new nvidia app doesn't require a sign in. If you like you're card then you shouldn't consider changing it, but at least it's a welcome change.
>fellow 6700xt owner
My main issue is the software is finnicky. Fricking Adrenaline just doesn't load properly and I have to reboot my PC to get it to boot so I can configure some shit.
The card itself I'm happy with, I only really care about playing at 1080p/144FPS (if possible) but AMD's software is annoying to work with.
>buy budget secondhand parts based off of a meme video by a youtube creator trying to churn out videos
>didnt use pcpartpicker
>didnt check compatibility on anything
>likely bought a secondhand gpu (often has problems as people who rotate out gpus can often be pretty lazy and harsh on them because they know they're just getting another one in a couple years on repeat)
i had issues with my first pc too, bought the wrong ram and didnt get ssds+m.2 drives until much later, proper ram specs and setups can do wonders.
Your parts have to actually be compatible with eachother you fricking moron
Made the switch in 2010 and never once looked back. It has literally only gotten better
Shigeru Miyamoto browses Ganker? Hory Shit!
>Shigeru Miyamoto made the Switch in 2010 and has been refining it ever since
Truly a visionary
got into PC gaming some time around 2002 (but I still played console) and stopped around 2013 and now I usually only play on console.
The only thing I regretted was buying a Bloodborne Box.
I really wanted a gaming PC as a kid.
I finally built one in like 2012.
Haven't looked back since.
I'd soon quite vidya than having to play moviegames without even modding them
A valid tactic though.
Tendies got the shit tier version of SMT V and PC Chads got the ultimate version of it.
tendieBlack personpoorgay cope
He makes a good point. If you're on the fence, you should just get a console. If you're someone who is just interested in playing a couple current gen games, it makes no sense to pay over 1000$ for a gaming pc.
No. I couldn't afford to console game anymore. Sales and Piracy has kept me in the game.
I have never in my entire life owned a console
I love building them. Heck, in fact; I'd do it for free
I've offered to build for family before but they always opt for pre-builts and then still ask me for tech support which I decline.
Iktf. Don't mind but also let them know I can't help for every little thing
in only one regards: comfort
I discovered the sect of couch PC users and have been converted.
>comfy couch
>OLED TV with actual not dogshit HDR
>keyboard and mouse in lap, or controller with Bluetooth
That's my setup. Steam big picture mode makes it all so easy.
Sure, but then you're forgetting that the average person who makes those issues is off buying a prebuilt.
And Blacks that think using 3rd party software is the devil.
i bought a prebuild, from a local pc store, and i picked every single part myself, and paid them to do it.
Still got the case and PSU that came with it nearly a decade later.
Most importantly: People's friends very likely do not play on PC.
>perception on cost.
there's no "perception", when a gpu that actually works is $700+ alone a lot of people don't want to deal with this shit
Anon a growing and popular setup is the couch pc. It's really easy and I play everything while sitting back and on my sony oled tv.
>I'll never understand the pc hate.
it's more about "do you want first party games that exist because they need to sell a machine (which usually mean a bigger budget for that) or independant games"?
redpill me on 4k monitors
Everything is really sharp. Jumping from a 1440p monitor to a lg oled tv was a nice jump. Moreso the oled, but games almost look like there's innate anti-aliasing thanks to the high resolution.
Technology's not there yet, wait 5/10 years before jumping into it. Nobodys playing new games on ultra 240hz/4k yet and they won't ever be with how many shitty associate degree having programmers they hired back in 2020.
console bros life is so good (and comfy)
The one thing I'm missing is a 3do
So comfy playing no games watching Netflix on the piss5, lmao
This but on PC
>consoletards projecting again
There's PC exclusives though
every game thats on PC may as well be exclusive compared to the gimped 30fps console counterpart
That game is 60fps on console though.
>system shock remake
>retro-styled low budget game
>only 60fps on cucksoles
>when a 980ti from a decade ago gets more fps
Weird flex but okay.
>it's le 30
Actually it isn't
>reeee it's still not high enough
Classic PCope
And it's a limited selection of only the most popular first party shit at the price of yet another subscription to pay on top of paying to use your own internet
no my only regret was getting a ps5
almost 4 years and still no web browser
PC gamers subsidize the entire console industry. Console cucks are too broke
Might be your build then. I can play at native 4k at a locked 60 fps. The "stutter" issue isn't and hasn't been prominent since about launch.
have you tried switching between fullscreen and windowed, or back again? turn on/off vertical sync?
make sure your pc isnt third-world poverty tier though, a 6000 series amd and 3000 series nvidia should be enough to run it at 60fps smoothly.
Also your CPU being too old will hold back a newer gpu, and it wont perform at its best.
>Also your CPU being too old will hold back a newer gpu, and it wont perform at its best.
No it won't lol
There are more cheaters on console kek, and not even the fun explode your screen with visual effects kind. Its easy to give yourself 60K HP with a save editor.
Elden Ring runs great on Steam Deck.
30fps is playable?
Ask consolegays.
Consolegays have been running games at <30FPS for decades, so it's presumably playable.
It's a handheld and the only real other handheld competitor is a console which can't even run the game period and wasn't even ported to it because of that.
yeah Elden Ring still runs like shit
the stutter is still there so its unplayable and i haven't touched the game since launch
t. 1060
when pc games say a game 'runs like shit' it still runs miles better compared to the console version.
there a some little quirks that come with PC gaming.
I like what he says about halo, but he clearly isn't one for good taste.
he says valve and steam killed the golden age of pc gaming
I was a pc gamer until 2009. Started in 2003. First game I ever paid for was daggerfall, second game was the Diablo 2 expansion (I was a moron) stopped for 11 years. Came back and now it's awful
>Do you regret switching to PC?
Switch?
The first video game was mixed-up mother goose, which I played on a Laser Pal 286.
I have pc, ps3, ps4, switch, bunch if retro in box. good to be an adult
>wasting money is being an adult
Do you also pay for wieners to suck? homosexual.
amazing how limited your brains are. you cant even insult properly. you have to understand person if you want to hurt him/her... your lazy attempt with zero correlation to target... disappointment
Ive been strictly PC since the 360 era and while Ive certainly had moments of jealousy, its never been enough to buy an entire console with its special controller and MSRP priced games.
In my experience, most big budget games go on sale to ~$20 a year or two after release
Unless it's a Nintendo console
grey market keys arent what they used to be, but theyre still heaps better than walled garden console pricing
>build good rig cheaper than PS5
>actually has games
>also emulate past systems
Consoles are pointless now.
I've never owned a console in the first place. Is there a reason to switch to consoles for gaming?
No, not at all. I can't think of o e game I wanted to play that isn't also on PC.
When i compared the 2 of them (PC or Console) and being a long time PS user since the PS2 to PS5 and how the console market changed this where the conclusions i got comparing the 2 sides:
PC
Pros:
>Better deals for buying games
>if you have a good CPU you can just buy a new GPU for the equivalent price of the console and get so much more for your money
>You dont have to pay to play online
>there is mods that give more content to your games
>simulation for consoles and their games
>You can do more stuff with your computer than before just having a CPU
>you can have the console experience just buying a controller to your liking and without limitations to brands
>The features for Nvidea and AMD GPUs are so much better than the console is dreaming to give to their users
>You can used it for work, learning
>you can get an option to refund games depending where you buyed them no matter the game
>you can get games not limited to your countries market
Cons:
>More expensive
>Learning curve to get good
>Need more IQ to just play games
>Driver updates can frick your exprience depending on the games
Console
Pros:
>No IQ needed made for kids to plug and play
>No driver updates
>it just does what is made for, games
>Now supports mouse and keyboard for some games
>they have great controllers no matter what brand you choose
>There is a market to improve your experience with things made just for your console and controllers
Cons:
>Limits the video game market with exclusives
>Have to pay to play online and get special disccounts
>You cant change the settings on games to get a better experience
>Is practically a computer but is limited by greed
>The GPU is not used to their fullest because of CPU limitations
>The market right now is better to expend to get a Gaming PC for the same amount of money you spend on a console
you forgot
>piracy
There is piracy for older consoles too, which is a plus for both pc and consoles
I've been an idort all my life, save for any Xbox shit.
I've had consoles since 4th gen and PCs since 5th. They all have their place, but I tend to prefer playing single player games on console because of fewer distractions.
>wojak
Not watching your video dude.
I only play on pc but I don't understand masterracegays that spend so much on hardware just to play consoleportslop, you may as well just get a goystation at that point
I like playing my games at 4k and high framerates. Even "consoleportslop" as you call it. Playing through smt v at 4k 120 fps is really nice.
so much seethe lol
No one is seething. The idea that pc gaming could be hard or a "regret" is just silly.
Yes.
I miss coming home, turning on my xbox and just playing a game. It was simple, easy.
Now its:
>Turn on PC
>Run through 4 windows updates
>Log on
>Open Steam
>Steam updates
>Error updating
>Spend 3 hours troubleshooting
>GPU needs an update
>Restart computer
>Launch game
>Needs an update
>Finally get on
>Games full of hackers
>Game crashes
Its fricking shit, once this PC dies go back to console, theres no advantage to PC gaming anymore, just a ton of downsides.
Anon windows doesn't update like that any more. Since windows 10 game mode doesn't allow the os to interfere. Not to mention gpus don't update every week. It's like once or twice a month and they're optional. If you're going to post a fake story then at least make it believable. I don't understand why console gays can't let pc gaming exist without making things up about it.
Wow, that's a lot of lies.
>>Turn on PC
>>Run through 4 windows updates
this is already lies
dont pretend like you pcgays dont run a game for 15 minutes on high settings just to never play it again
dont pretend you're not utterly depressed, and deeply you know you're about to be even more depressed
and dont pretend you dont fully understand the consequences of taiwan getting invaded, and don't pretend you don't secretly know it will inevitably happen
PC gaming is for queers.
i hate fiddling with files, in-game settings, and graphics card settings to make games run properly.
emulating and pirating stuff is convenient, tho.
I haven't fiddled with anything beyond shit like FOV, keybindings and mouse sensitivity in PC games for over 10 fricking years.
What the flying frick are you talking about?
yer mum
Actually own my games
>INB4 B-But P-Physical
You need a computer of some kind to back up the iso don't you? Console only and the update files are at the mercy of Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. Not to mention you at least have some kind of recourse if you want to play a pre-updated version of the game on PC while on console you have to give up literally everything to do it. Also piracy.
you dont need a rtx4090 for that friend
You might as well though and train AI waifus, porn, as well as teach yourself skills for jobs and hobbies like Blender, video editing, etc.
Console is paying $500 for the opportunity to play 3 games...and nothing else really.
pfft didnt you just write the reason your 4090 will be the last gfx card you'll ever get to own in that little lifetime of yours
It's like 1500, anon. Less than a single paycheck.
>talks out of his ass
>doesn't understand how owning something works
>Ok I want to play games
>Sorry PS5 needs to update.
>No thanks
> OK, b***h, you aint't doing anything else until you do.
These g-g-game breaking bugs a-a-add s-skill to the game.
i didn't know you were a terminally online homosexual
life advice: don't write like sodomite
>Terminally only
Scrubs S3EP14
I pay for my internet, so I will not be cucked out of using it, especially on my property. Sorry anon.
If the publisher pushes out a patch, it will invalidate your steam ticket FIRST *then* attempt a download so by the time you find out "Update Available" it's already too late.
>homosexual trusts gabeN and valve, the latter being a megacorp
GoG, piracy, and emulation will be there.
steam will frick you over when it wants to.
PC gaming is so soulless. Once you switch you just end up playing less video games.
AyMehn
I've have bought and played through so many games since I switched to primarily pc gaming. You people probably don't like games that much. Even my switch doesn't see that much use since most jap games are releasing on steam.
>self anecdote; thinks that's a great example
>presumes to know anons' gaming habits
nice logical leaps
No in fact switching to PC is probably the best decision I ever made. So many excellent games at insanely cheap prices. Pretty much every game worth a shit (indies) will come out on PC so I feel like I don't miss out on anything. Sales are showing that people making the switch to PC pretty much don't care about consoles anymore and will just wait for the 1/2 games they want
>Buy a PS5
>Have to pay to play online
>Have access to the PS5 library and a few backwards compatible titles that are sanctioned and supported
>Pay 70 dollars for new releases
>Buy a PC
>Don't pay for online play, even MMO's have free private servers
>Access to every video game made, for free
>Easily modify and fix video games for fun, making a decent game better
>On the off chance I want to buy a game, resellers offer them for a mere fraction of PS5 game prices
>Can watch any movie or anime for free
>Can listen/download any song/read any book/enjoy ad-free internet browsing with plugins
Damn it feels good to be a gangsta. A real gangsta-ass homie plays his cards right.
oh wow, people who play offline and/ or single player games "Don't Exist"
^mind shattering "news"
I stopped using a console after the PS4 and I don't see any reasons to come back. Switch at least has exclusives but I just emulate those.
nope, switched to it in the late 90s and there's no going back
I mean, I never really switched. I was always a Console & PC gamer.
Dropped Consoles around 2011-2012 and never looked back.
Consoles got too expensive for me.
No, becoming part of the master race is the best decision I ever made.
the mustard race: the pinnacle of mental, physical, and spiritual atrophy
I'm not gonna watch that moron's video but the thumbnail tells me he probably considers PC a bad choice just because you have to troubleshoot it once every 3 years or swap parts around once yours become obsolete, and that's honestly pathetic, PC building these days is absolutely braindead, everything has unique plugs now so you can no longer do something moronic like plug the pins that go to the MOBO in your GPU, PSU makers now account for all the 80 IQ broccoli haired amerimutts that get into the hobby.
I switched away from PC years ago after all the zoomers and twitchgays flooded in.
Honestly the worst community in gaming by a landslide.
I've been a PC + Nintendo gamer since the late 2000s, so no.
Wish I switched faster. Been playing emulated PS2 games for years now.
Switching?
Son I've been a PC gamer my whole life.
>PC gaming....
What the frick, there's a sequel? I haven't even played the first one yet.
I have an RTX 3090 and i9 pc, vr headset, steam deck, a 120hz OLED TV and a 43" 144hz 4k monitor. And over 250 games. I fricking love PC gaming.
>250
I just checked how many games I have.
I've got.
144 epic games (my main game launcher)
61 steam games.
11 gog games but I barely play them, they were all free with prime.
19 windows store games.
1 battle net game.
48 amazon gaming games
8 ea games.
16 Ubisoft games.
>i9
Enjoy your crashes
Last console I had was a 360, glad I missed whatever happened after that I honestly dont know what the order of xbox console releases is after the 360 and cant name any exclusives worth playing either
THIS!!!
>PC gaming.....
Will consolechads play motherfricking GT7, Pcgays play like this lmao
I always was idort but the majority of times I played was on PC. it's just better at everything consoles do.
Why would I regret making the best choice?
>PC gaming.....
Wbat game?
no, if anything I regret not switching sooner. sold my PS4 and games to buy the components little by little. ended up saving money in the long run through sales
I never really switched, I just play on both
>Do you regret switching to superior platform?
no
Modern consoles are literally just gimped PCs or roided up cellphone hardware. The magic is dead. PC is all that remains
No, I get reassured with my decision with every ps5 game released.
>switching
yeah because it's either this or that huh
I have never boughted a console
No, because i could finally mod my minecraft worlds to be anything i imagine.
never switched to PC because was pc gaming since the beginning.
only had 2 consoles in my life
PS2 and the vita. barely use them
>every single first-party controller suffers from drift
>cucksoles struggle to maintain 30 FPS at upscaled 720p
>cucksoles have moron tax
no
Damn, did you pull this post out of your prolapsed anus?
I've been gaming on pc from late 90's. Its the consoles i added to systems later on and still enjoy both pc and ps5
What game is that, and is it any good?
rise of ronin, its peak team ninja combat with niohs loot and now in open world. its good so far
Anyone who says
>no I don't have time for that
is someone fundamentally not curious about the world and not interested in learning new things and their opinions can be disregarded.
I suspect this idea of "games are better optimized on console" is in reality "the console version is locked to medium-low settings".
There's probably some extra shit they do beyond the hood but I expect most just do lock it to medium. I do think it's neat when some games feature different modes for performance/graphics.
I use whatever is best for games I own a PS3/PS4 and relatively high end gaming PC.
No i don't
my gaming journey started with PS2, great console with good and huge number of vidya.
PC is king, consoles past PS3 have no meaning or value tbh, that includes weak ass handheld like Switch, Switch 2 looks to be even more useless with just slightly better performance but i guess if you are thirdie or poorgay and don't wanna save up for PC then i guess its okay for the very few number of worth Nintendo games.
>tfw spent 10 minutes trying to plug in a USB connector to my motherboard once
>turned out I simply had to use more force but I was really scared of bending any pins
I've never been so fricking mad
No. I bought an ordinary second-hand office PC, and I can run most PS3-era games on it, which is all I ever want or need.
I genuinely don't see the point of consoles.
Switch I can get since it's portable and you can play it on the go but why would I get an Xbox or a Playstation?
To play GTA6 on release.
And?
Some people play like 4 games per generation and to them its easier and cheaper to just get a console. I see it everyday. A friend of mine a few years ago got a ps4 just to play COD, fortnite and spiderman. He later also bought worms wmd for whenever we would come over to his house. He really didnt have interest in anything else, doesn't even have a desktop PC.
This board would be so much better without the third world morons from Chinese to streetshitters that dabble in console wars thinking it has any significance.
yeah but then we wouldn't have so many tendies to laugh at.
no.
controllers are responsible for the destruction of gaming
>controllers are responsible for the destruction of gaming
zoom zoom opinion
Exclusive PC gamer here.
Controllers offer the benefit of 24+ inputs without even having to move your hands. For third person action games, fighting games, racing games, platformers, and some other obscure genres, controllers smash M+K. M+K wins whenever you need to aim a projectile weapon or manage a lot of menus.
>For fighting games, controllers smash M+K
Anon, the best controller for fighting games is literally a keyboard with a bunch of keys removed.
I started on PC and i'm sticking with it.
I never "swicth" to anything, if I want to play a PS5 game I play it, if I want to play a Xbox game (mostly retrocompatible ones) I play it, if I want to play a Switch game I open Ryujinx.
No. If anything, PC helps me tremendously, especially when hacking my consoles.
RX7600 laptop is as powerful as PS5 that you can carry and play anywhere
Nah. I bought a gtx 1080 and it was worth it. Gonna buy a ps5 for gta 6 and then buy a monster PC so I can play it in 4K.
But overall vidya sucks now. It's all woke, companies keep raising prices, multiplayer is at best forced 50/50, games release completely broken etc.
i sometimes miss the convivence of it, but even that can be somewhat mitigated with things like geforce now
>His parents couldn't afford a C64 or Amiga
lol
The core console experience is having to get up, unplug the Gamecube because you're done playing Smash, plug in the PS2 because it's time for Dark Cloud, and return to the couch.
I don't see PC gaming as less convenient. My computer chair is extremely comfy. And 99% of games work fine out of the box; some of them even automatically detect your hardware and select reasonable settings for you, for those who don't even like selecting between low, medium, high, and ultra.
Modders are the ones who have to deal with the game freaking out for god-knows-why.
>PC gaming....
sovl
Only reason why I tolerated console gayming during the past 20 years was because I was too much of a poorgay to build a PC. I've finally built mine and surprise surprise, it's exactly what I wanted
Hmmmm I feel like playing Sly cooper 3 today...
>PS2 games looks like blurry shit on a modern display even with a component cable
>my CRT TV doesn't support NTSC games, so I would have to play the game at 50FPS like a fricking deranged psycopath
>PS3 controller doesn't work for some reason, can't use my fully functional PS2 controller on the PS3 without buying stupid ass adapters
>need to install CFW so I can use xinput/directinput controllers
>somehow install everything via FTP without using a controller
>homebrew fricking sucks, has insane input lag and some games aren't even compatible
>game isn't available on PS4 due to ~~*reasons*~~
Man, if only I had built a PC so I could emulate PCSX2 and instantly start playing the game without any issues oh wait, I do have a gaming PC because I am not a fricking moron
Feels good man. Shame that I lost like 10 hours of progress since it took me way too long to take the PC pill. Never touching consoles ever again
I just wish Sly Cooper was good. The idea is interesting, but poorly executed.
Did you only play 1? 2 and 3 are completely different games
2
>man, a plateformer game mixed with a bit of stealth? This is so nice!
>well, it's very simple, but of course, I wasn't expecting Splinter Cell or Thief after all
>These hipopotamus levels (Press A A A A A A)
>and now the turtle
>urgh...
>Ah, back to Sly
>dancing mini game where "you have to press the right button like a QTE :)"
miss me with that shit.
Console wins
>you have a competitive disadvantage if you aren't on LAN fiber, 540hz 1440p monitor, rtx cards, pushing 300+ fps and latest tech
literally pay to win. not to mention all the hackers.
I miss the simplicity of consoles. My only gripe is controllers kinda suck for FPS
120hz was competitive in 2020. not anymore
>muh eyesight can't see more than 60hz u dont need more!!11
that's a cope. humans can see 255+ fps
Most consoles use wifi
I can tell differences of 60fps, 75fps, 90fps and 120fps in VR.
I can't tell much over 80fps on a monitor
>You have any proof for that?
Are you asking for the 255+ fps thing or the "competitive" thing?
If it's the later - read
.
If it's the former, the research regarding this topic tends to be done using the bleeding edge approach straight from the 1950s i.e.
>After wasting millions of dollars, scientists finally confirmed that some people are in fact capable of seeing beyond 24 fps under very specific circumstances! (inconclusive)
>No evidence has been found that the human eye is capable of seeing beyond 30 fps (conclusive)
Personally, I find the
>high refresh rate smoothness
to be simply above 90 Hz - I'd probably need another monitor to try and perceive any difference between that and 120 Hz.
But that is not what a "competitive advantage" is about.
I'm not gonna spoonfeed you.
People can see over 144hz
Even if that weren't the case. Higher frames still reduce input lag. You will fire faster, move faster, flick faster and do everything faster than somebody with 60fps
Some multiplayer netcode is even so fricked your rate of fire is increased when you have higher frames. So if you're wondering why that guy emptied his entire magazine when you've only shot two bullets he probably has 300+ fps
>you literally are getting to the point where even the people with the best eyesight won't notice the improvement as the number goes up.
It does get into heavy diminishing returns the higher you go, but it is an objective competitive advantage.
as another anon pointed out. this is the same as on console. also advantages like higher refresh rate and your hardware literally only matters when you are better than 99.99% of the player base already. this is the same line of thinking as "you can't play a fighting game without a 600 dollar controller" while kids using office keyboards are holding the top ranks lmao
Don't be fallacious. You have a relatively even playing field since everyone is running on the same console
Even if they buy a 540hz monitor it's still can't do more than 60fps
>ok but what about hardware ? you would just cry about how everyone is using 300 dollar controllers instead. realistically your hardware is irrelevant until you are literally at the top level of play. i have a mate who's pretty much top level play on CS and he plays on a shitty old LCD tv at (barely) 60fps. don't get me wrong at a point it does become a factor. but odds are it's not a factor for (you)
true but it won't stop noobs from pretending that they are gate kept by financial factors lol
>this is the same line of thinking as "you can't play a fighting game without a 600 dollar controller" while kids using office keyboards are holding the top ranks lmao
If you know how to avoid ghosting, office keyboards are better than every other controller aside from dedicated leverless.
>isn't this the same moron that praises halo
>oh yeah it is
you can safely ignore anything this man says
No, all my games are free.
No. I can play games and do other shit all on the same device that I can upgrade when I want. I don't miss consoles
pc is great for emulation and retro games
console is great for new releases
simple as that
homie, I used to load this shit in DOS. I never left.
I despise you reddit console war Black folk.
a good pc
Nah, if anything I'm wondering why I didn't get a gaming pc earlier.
>tranime pedophilia at top
obviously
>Switching
Huh? I like my PS1 but I play on both.
PC is better more personal its cringe for me to play Weeb Shit on a TV
Upfront cost is worse than ever dude to memeflation and the crypto gold rush. Show me a PC that can outdo PS5 performance for less than $1500. You can't.
laptop for indies
desktop for big games
>Switching
frick off tendie
my last console was a ps3. I just refuse to pay twice to use my internet. That's the hill I will die on. And don't try to sell me these lies about it being a cost they're trying to recuperate, else why is steam free? Why is xbox PC free?
I never owned a console in my entire life.
this shit looks like it was created by some third worlder using AI.
I used to play on both PC and consoles. If anything it's the other way around, I switched away from consoles.
behold
PC master race
>average tendie's PC be like
>windows 7
>phenom II cpu

i have two more pc at my place both with dual boot win7/10
they are more modern obviously
this is old one at my parent place with xp/win7 dual boot
it work and i can play some old game son it np
Shader stutter makes your RTX 4080 feel more like a GTX 1080 with the minimum fps
what games have shader stutter? I've never noticed it
All unreal engine 4 games on PC except a handful like Gears, Arcsys games, HiFi Rush, late stage games.
name some games which you get stutter in
Dragon's Dogma 2
Hellblade 2
Star Wars Jedi Survivor
Elden Ring
All games using UE4 or 5.
I've played DD2, E:R and HB2 and DD2 was a little jittery in the city due to it being CPU bound, but the others worked fine.
the only ones I care are Pseudoregalia and Northern Journey.
works on Ayymd
My platform choices are incomprehensible to the average gamer. I am submerged in the dark arts of esoteric idortry
>Being an idot circa 2000 AD
>not just exclusive games but entire genres are platform specific
>being an idort circa 2024
>like 5 games you can now play that you couldn't if you owned a PC
I'm planning an upgrade, here's what I've selected
>Z790 LGA1700 MOBO
>i7 13700 CPU
>4080 super GPU
Already have a 850W PSU. Am I bottlenecking anything with my cpu/gpu choices? I haven't done this in 7 years
go ferret
>buying Intel in it's current state
Switching?
After being a PC gamer since the early 2000s, I'll probably be moving to console for the first time due to GTA VI and some other issues. PC hardware is just too expensive in my shithole and I am tired of games not working properly with controllers on OC (as M+KB is only really good for shooters and strategy games). Console is far better for the "shut your brain off" experience.
>jak
>dogshit thread
Why would I? Games are way cheaper and I can easily mod the frick out of them.
>Games are way cheaper
This is not true and at no point whatsoever it has ever been true.
Anon, are you moronic? Like actually brain damaged?
i do
built a decent pc and it cant even run gta 5 on lowest settings without shitting itself
my 8 years old switch still runs games better than my newly built pc
pc building is just a scam marketed by shitskin pajeets on this site
take my advice and buy a console instead of wasting your money on pcs
>i built a decent pc and it can't even run GTA5 on lowest,
Black person when did you build it like 15 years ago ??? what parts did you use lmao
There's no games on consoles that I remotely care about enough to buy a console so no.
Post your specs, I want to see this "decent PC"
No. Gaming would still have become the current shit show it is even if I'd never switched after the original PS4.
Yes, PC is full of idiots using cheats because they're too stupid to play games.
Console = Real Gamers
PC = Pathetic Cheaters
I was a Sega gay
No, I actually switched to consoles (it started with switch) and sold my PC. Imagine being a grown man and still gaming behind a desk like a sweaty cuck instead of lying in couch with a controller and games on a huge TV and surround audio system.
You know that you can connect your PC to your TV and use bluetooth controllers, right?
yes and it's the same shitty experience like using Steam Deck docked to TV
Lol works on my machine. I game at 4k and sitting back on a couch.
I dont think so
It just works dude. It'll only get better and easier as valve keeps investing in these features.
proofs?
-Don't have to deal with bullshit like Fire Stick or whatever to watch any services or just plain youtube
-Since it's actually a computer, you can have full browsers with ad blocking plugins
-You can browser whatever, use whatever programs you want. Do anything
Overall, you don't have to be desk cucked to do anything or use the shitty cellphone or table to browse on the couch
>yes and it's the same shitty experience like using Steam Deck docked to TV
Went back to my lovely PC, while my consoles are gathering dust
>platform wars
MOOOOOOOOM! THE INDIANS ARE POSTING AGAIN!
switching?
i buy everything. consoles, handhelds, and own a PC.
i just like to play games.
>The last games I've bought on switch have been unicorn overlord and Miku fitness boxing
i guess switch owners are used to just gnawing on bones.
I moved from PC to console. Why? I want to play games. That's it. No drivers, no fuss - just games. All I want to do it just play games, dude. A console does that. It just works. Physical media is a plus, and I can sell my games when I am done with them.
>But but yo dont uwon ur games!!

Anyways, I have realized PC gaming is a goddamn joke, and whoever plays on a PC is a porn addict or a low-life that spends all their life in front of 3 screens. I have a PS5 and a Chromebook, what more do you need?
>kek chromebuuk and ps5

Good for you dude, but I like to play games and it's why I play on pc and switch. Pc gaming just works and if it's too hard for you then I fear what that means for your intelligence. These things are moron proof now.
Based.
PC is for manchildren.
Real men play on console.

"play the few jap games that don't release on pc." Nice selective reading anon.
Name one issue.
>Nice selective reading anon.
that anons point still stands though. lol
nice anecdote, mistah pdf file
I can't play shooters with a controller
Sorry I'm just not going to do it
why would i? literally all the games i want to play are on PC
consoles are a crutch, a surrogate to games, games are made on pc to be played on pc, consoles are a poor man's way of adapting
>1080p render resolution as a standard began on pc, with next generation consoles mimicking afterwards
>4k render resolution as a standard also began on pc, with next generation consoles poorly upscaling lower resolutions to 4k, being unable to render it natively
>raytracing began on pc, specifically on nvidia hardware, with next generation consoles rushing to try and implement a surrogate alternative which to this day still works with prebaked shaders since the hardware cannot calculate path tracing on the same manner
>all large graphical leaps happened on pc, for pc. the new unreal engine 5 photorealistic demos can only be run on computers with 32gb+ of ram, which no console can even come close of replicating
if you have a console, you are poor. you have a cheap mimic, a surrogate. and just as a homeless man cannot choose what to eat, you cannot choose on what to play. because you are poor.
t. Windows slave
I'm a lifelong pc gamer but I like nintendo games
the thing is console games are usually really shitty and boring
sony started porting all of their shit and they're like ubisoft tier bad games
I can't believe console people put up with playing such bad and boring shit and that's their normal
this whole thread remind me about one of my acquaintances from time when I was studying
he used to play Neverwinter Nights with amazing high FPS of 3-5.
If PC is so great, why isn't there a PC98 2?
I've always been a PCgay. Had some consoles but PC is just better.
consoles only exist for poor morons. its been like this since the atari.
You can't magic it away like China does with Tiananmen Square, everyone can see PCgays arguing with each other every day here.
>yes i am totally correct! everyone on the face of the earth uses Ganker and this is the face of the internet everyone reads this!
stay delusional and moronic lol. you failed the provide and argument so stay mad.
>xbox vs playstation people never existed
LMAO
Uuuuhhh
Honestly the fact that these storefront warring videos are made by fat 40 year olds is just icing on the cake tbh.
DELETE THIS NOW, WE MUSTARDS ARE GOOD BOIS THAT DINDU NUFFIN
I am correct and you're wrong + coping. Deal with it, hypocrite Black person moron.
>Never liked pc gaming because for decades it got almost no Japanese games that were worth a damn and those are what I primarily play. Sure that’s changed now but why switch to it when consoles already have what I want?
Because, even by your logic, it makes perfect sense: new Japanese games come to PC officially, old Japanese games come to PC via emulation.
I don’t care for emulation and see it as a normalgay thing
pc gaming post 2013 was the only good option for playing games. the only people coping about it were morons that couldnt afford it back then and morons that cannot afford it today.
Wut
>press Xbox icon on controller
>Xbox starts
>Play game
It's that easy
