Nope, even if I'm not big on gooming the purchase was significant quality of life improvement, everything is snappy and I don't have to worry if I can run this or that simultaneously. That wouldn't be necessary if software were more optimized but it is what it is.
I bought a gaming laptop years ago and DEEPLY regret it.
Absolute dogshit thermals. CPU cannot stay under reasonable temps unless you undervolt and also disable turbo for a good measure.
Incredibly loud fans.
Dirt cheap harddisk that makes all kinds of weird and annoying noises when spinning.
Excrement quality thermal paste that became useless after just two years. My GPU was literally insta throttling at games.
The shitty battery died after tree years.
Built my proper desktop rig recently and it has been comfy so far though.
I don't regret it but other than testing it's capabilities I'm barely playing any demanding games.
My next purchase would be either mini pc or amd powered tablet.
I have a toaster PC. I regret getting into the situation where I legitimately needed a mini-itx PC, but I am proud of what I did within the constraints. I could get something, I don't know, normal sized now, but I run my PC's into the ground. The missus has my first diy build and it's still going strong after over a decade.
No, I love my current rig. Built it with a Xeon kit from Ali, plus some used parts here, for $400 total (plus $350 for a nice 4K monitor). It's some excellent bang for the buck.
If there's one thing I regret, it's my Mac purchases. Even though I loved it back in the day when Windows sucked and it seemed to be the only 'mainstream' alternative, it was a poor choice in the long run. I sometimes wonder: what if I had bought a regular PC instead, and forced myself to learn Linux when it was still rough? Hard times create strong men and all that?
Didn't make any gaming pc purchases. I did go overboard on CPU cooling and case size. If I had to do it again, I'd go SFF and a CPU with integrated graphics.
good machine but if you spent $500 on it thats too much. ive seen those go for $300 and even on my local facebook marketplace ive seen one sell for $150. i have a ser7 i got for $600 and its a beast
not a gaming pc but i regret buying my hp spectre x360. i dont have any problems with it. it has a intel core i7 10510u, nvidia mx250, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd, sexy design, no hinge or physical problems at all. but i spent $1k on it and use it less than my $150 thinkpad x260. if i were to resell it I'll be lucky to get $500- $700 out of it. its not even good for gaming either unless i emulate PS2 & switch games on it. and the israeli bluetooth driver is locked for windows only so if i choose to use linux i wont be able to use bluetooth
every day of my life. i have a fricking 3070 and don't even game anymore. it's fricking boring. its all hellish
literally everything is boring even sex! I'm going psychotic holy frick
nope. not in the slightest
Thankfully I didn't waste my money on a gaming PC.
my gaming PC purchase?
Not. I am glad not being a stinkpad troony

no
It amazes me that people will dump so much crap into a tower but have garbage inside.
sometimes I regret not getting a faster cpu or better motherboard
I regret only the case and the cpu

I regret not waiting a little more. With the money I spent for my 3060 ti I could have bough a 4070 a year later
I paid extra for a meme processor that does nothing
what processor
what do you have
My guess is that he fell for the AI meme and bought one of the 8000Gs.
Or bought a threadripper despite not needing one.

yes, i don't play video games and feel like a manchild everytime i see rgb shit glowing
Nope, i spend most my free time on the pc. Good investment.
Same.
same
I'm having fun playing games every day
Not at all, but I do regret purchasing a chinkpad.
I use it for both work and games and spend most of my time on it, so no.
my gaming pc is in my rack and it works great
i do not regret it

No
I don't play games on it but benchmarking and justifying my purchases and shitting on others in /pcbg/ is more fun
>Do you regret your gaming PC purchase
Not really, but then again I never buy expensive parts. My most expensive graphics card is a 3060.
Didn't make any gaming pc purchases. I did go overboard on CPU cooling and case size. If I had to do it again, I'd go SFF and a CPU with integrated graphics.
If someone gave me that computer I would literally throw it onto him.
no
i was tempted to waste a grand for a new gpu but then came to my senses
I haven't used in like 2 weeks because i have been very busy but even then i will absolutely never regret it. A pc is about the safest buy u can make.
Not at all

No, repurposed as an AI rig, plays games well
