Excluding spinoffs, Amy hasn't been normally playable since Advance 3, almost 2 decades ago.

Castrate and fire Iizuka for that to happen. He's also the butthole who ensured that Tails and Knuckles lost their super forms. He's also the reason female characters can't go super (Blaze has the alternate reality excuse). Anyway according to this bastard who should have been fired years ago, only male hedgehogs can go super or hyper or whatever in Sonic's main dimension when the Chaos Emeralds should not be discriminating. The chaos emeralds power you up no matter what you are including a machine (the Eclipse Cannon).
And then she will force human males to frick her
Remember in Sonic 3 where Super Tails had a legion of swarming animal buddies that could clear enemies for you? Remember how soulful and unique that was? Never again will this be allowed.
Surprised the comic haven't done it yet
Old comic focused most of it's chaos autism on the echidnas. New comic is more grounded in game lore. There really was no opportunity for her.
Yes. I've come to realize that pretty much anything you can think of will happen in a franchise given enough time. One day we will see a critically acclaimed triple A Sonic 06 remake that is universally loved by the fanbase. It might take 60 years, it might take 160 years, but they'll try anything eventually.
It is time. Sonic Origins Plus as announced just last week, with Amy as a playable character. It'll allow us to play as her, gather the Chaos Emeralds, and have her go Super in the classic games of Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Sonic & Knuckles
