This. I think that MGS should stay dead otherwise, but I’m sure Konami is exploring the possibility of desecrating its corpse by remastering/remaking one of the games.
this
MGS1 and 2 already have pc ports (even though they're shit) they just need to port 3 4 and PW (maybe even PO) + the MGOs
this would be a huge jackpot for konami but they're preoccupied with their gay mobile games
No. The last story I thought I wanted was a prequel where you play as The Boss during WW2 and work with the Cobra Unit but Kojima is off his rocker and wouldn't make what I wanted even if he gave a shit.
I've always liked the geopolitical thriller aspects of the MG franchise. The geopolitics the public sees and the fun action spy shit that you actually get to play. If it leaned into that stuff I'd be really happy even with Kojima's brand of cheese.
>Stormfront is the elite Nazi unit of specialized soldiers, sent in to deal with threats the normal soldiers can't deal with >Lufthammer: A jetpack-wearing Nazi who can no longer fly in the Luftwaffe because his left arm was blown off, so he attached a hammer to the stump and flies at you. You beat him by tricking him into smashing into a wall and shooting his back >Black Sun: An occultism-obsessed Nazi who wishes to find a rumored child in the Soviet Union who can talk to ghosts. Uses psychedelic drug clouds to make a trippy boss fight against 'ghosts,' tries to kill you with King Arthur's magical sword, which is probably just a normal sword according to your radio backup (the game leaves it ambiguous) >Doctor 371: A Japanese doctor who's here to trade medical secrets with Doctor Mengele, attacks you by unleashing insane prisoners he's done surgery to. Dies instantly when you finally catch up to him and shoot him once, can be killed early by poisoning his food, but then the hospital level has more guards in it instead of a boss fight >U: An ancient Prussian soldier who's still around, was a U-boat captain during the Great War, you fight him in a submarine as the British bomb the area because they don't know you're inside. Fights you using 1800s weapons because that's what he's used to >Der Ubermensch: The leader, and the guy on all of the Nazi propaganda posters you see throughout the game. Completely beautiful Aryan superman, spends the entire game reciting propaganda at you. You must fight him as the final boss, after which he reveals he's actually israeli and just looks like an ubermensch, and exploited that position to lead Stormfront to failure so that the Allies could win the war
>You must fight him as the final boss, after which he reveals he's actually israeli and just looks like an ubermensch, and exploited that position to lead Stormfront to failure so that the Allies could win the war
Halfway through reading this one, I thought to myself "I really hope he doesn't go for le epic Aryan superman was a israelite all along" trope.

No. With MGS4 and MGSV it's probably best to just leave it alone. It would be cool to have a spiritual successor to mgsv with mgs4's gun details and more difficulty.
tbh i like all MG games
MGSV gave me a new look on series and its probably my favorite one
If there will be another mgs game then i doubt it will be sandbox like this.
No.
Not really. It had a good run and I don't have faith that a new game for it would be any good.
I just want the mainline series released on modern platforms.
No. Maybe re release mgs4 with MGO
Nah, bring all the good MGS games 1-4 and PW to Steam with achievements and I'm good.

mgs1 doesn't need a port because ps1 emulation is so good
mgs2 is good with the mod
what mod?
just look up mgs2 remastered mod or something, it fixes most of the problems
>watch Escape From New York
>it's literally just Metal Gear
>Snake Plissken is literally just Solid Snake and Big Boss without the autism
What did Kojima mean by this?
Wow you're a genius how has nobody recognized this before
>Snake's codename in MGS2 is literally fricking Plisken
No. The last story I thought I wanted was a prequel where you play as The Boss during WW2 and work with the Cobra Unit but Kojima is off his rocker and wouldn't make what I wanted even if he gave a shit.
What would you even want from that game? For the boss squad to just be increasingly stupid Nazis with silly weapons?
>watch out Boss, that's the israelite Slayer!
>Stormfront is the elite Nazi unit of specialized soldiers, sent in to deal with threats the normal soldiers can't deal with

They don't have to mention any old mgs games in new ones, I think it got out of hand. In regards to your "russian child who can speak with ghosts"
these just off the cuff? pretty good tbh. weird war RTCW type pulp mgs could be pretty awesome if done right.
It was off the cuff, yeah.
>Doctor 371
Keep in mind Japan has taken the stance that a lot of their war crimes either never actually happened or are greatly exaggerated
>You must fight him as the final boss, after which he reveals he's actually israeli and just looks like an ubermensch, and exploited that position to lead Stormfront to failure so that the Allies could win the war

No but I kinda wish there was a series with Liquid
nobody but kojima could make a good mgs game.
and i say, let the man move on from the franchise already.
I can't imagine Konami not fricking it up. Survive should have been a great game and they smothered it with monetization.
Maybe a spiritual successor would be cool. I miss "tactical espionage action" more than I miss "MGS".
yeah i think i'd be more interested in a new game than a new mg entry at this point.
Yes. I want a gulf war game called Metal Gear Strike but only if Kojima is involved
I'd like another game like MGSV, but with some better world design
Sadly no.
>Do you want MGS to come back?
I really miss MGS, but I don't trust anyone to do it justice.
Not even Kojima, unless he brings back Tomokazu Fukushima to help write....if he's still alive anyways.
>Meryl falls in love with the easter egg joke character who shits himself in every game
that was pretty funny ngl
This is a good explanation, I always felt like this dude did the bulk of the important writing (codecs)
i thought fukushima autists were ironic since he wrote the codecs only.
ok but fukushima didn't write literally everything nor did he come up with the plot for MGS1 and 2
He didn't write everything, but there was definitely a shift in the quality of the writing post MGS3.
MGS4 is when the series truly became "dumb".
tbh i like all MG games
MGSV gave me a new look on series and its probably my favorite one

I like all of them except GZ
oops meant to say TPP
Liquid Shart
Make a MGS game that's like an episodic Ground Zeroes and I'm in.
I want a 'spiritual successor' that recreates the Tactical Stealth Espionage Action™ of MGS3 and MGSV:GZ with an unrelated story/new characters
no.
but I would love to see Ape Escape coming back after Nintendo saves the IP from Sony.
