don't worry, dear consumer!

it was just a tes- uh a technical error! yes this really weird technical error where a full blown ad popped up instead of your in-game map. we certainly wasn't testing the waters hehe!
this piece of shit industry swallowed mtx to the point where $50 skins are the norm, so I fully expect ads popping up to be next big thing that gets pushed. and remember, you let this happen

Homeless People Are Sexy Shirt $21.68

DMT Has Friends For Me Shirt $21.68

    Yeah its going to happen.
Did you know some companies are adding in advertisments for modern products into movies now? Video games will start including in game ads into the products more often until it becomes so common people just accept it.

This has been happening for over 50 years.

the people who post here have never seen a movie or read a book in their lives. thats why they think moviegames like red dead redemption is the peak of storytelling

Product placement has been a thing since before movies.

What makes them think that would make me buy the product instead of shitting on it

This isn't new. Even Alan Wake 1 did this with Energizer in 2010 and I'm sure there are older games which did it as well. Movies have been doing it for even longer (of course)

Product placement in movies has been a thing forever. Hell I'm pretty sure Adam Sandlers entire career has been carried by product placement. You guys forget the entire fricking subway commercial in the middle of happy Gilmore?

The claim is that the ad was intended for the main menu or something, and accidently triggered in the wrong place.
That part is plausible but I'm not happy with any game displaying an ad for any other game, whether in the main menu or not.

This is the same industry that squeals at consumers telling them to frick off when they raise prices

Epic Ubi, EA. aren't the whole industry. Despite actually making some good games I'm not buying shit from them. I pirate all Ubisoft games, especially ones with a frickton of DLC.

Isnt AC single player? why the frick does it need to connect online?

      Anonymous

The last several ACs have basically been slightly more intricate mobile games, where you level up your character through tedious grinds (that can of course be sped up by buying bundles with real-world money). Even though Mirage was supposed to be a "return to form" and ditch the shitty RPG treadmill, they still need a way to monetize the game after already getting your money by buying it. Thus, it needs to be online so they can shill ads and harvest your data.

I refuse to play anything that takes more than 5GB of HDD and needs more than my 200 usd laptop i3 igpu.

    So far so good.

It's not like they will hire some SWAT team to force me to buy a 500 usd console and also buy their 100 usd game.

At least It would be illegal because I don't like the AMERICA FRICK YEAH!!!!! land of the BLACKED empire.

I only wish now for BUGisoft is to add a TV section of like 5 minutes of ads, for even more realism, because now their games will be like watching cable TV.

That would be better for me, lmao.

nah ubisoft has done it in the past where they say hey we've got the next game released if you want more of this

which is 100% acceptable, if this was EA, epic game store, or steam doing this, i would 100% see it as testing for ads
