Core skills are always available but are situational. For instance, some skills may only be available while clinging to a monster, while others can only be used on the ground.
Core skills are mostly passives, a few situational actions, or an alternate light attack string by doing specific inputs (something the original game already had as well)
So it's mostly 4 skills for the entire game (or is it 3 for some classes?)

Managing your stamina by using dire onslaught was great since dire onslaught was actually pretty solid damage and stagger. Your skills were currency to be spent on utility not just for pouring into damage.

Probably, a 6800 or 2080ti is listed as the raytracing card for 2160 interlaced, or 1080p. Most likely 30fps, but that should easily clear 1080p 60 without raytracing, and maybe around 1440p 60 too. Settings may be like high for 1080p and medium for 1440p if I had to guess.
I'm gonna see how hard they made this game scaleable by checking with the 'eck first.
It's hard to tell. Historically RE games have ran very well and been pretty scalable. But it's also a large scale open world game with lots happening, seemingly very little if any loading zones and no previous gen console release. I doubt it'll work well on the steam deck, but may be surprised.

The same GPUs are listed for 2160 interlaced with raytracing too, and the difference between that and 1080p should be a large margin for GPU power. Even if it's a 2x given that it's interlaced and not native 4k, turning off raytracing and lowering some other settings make me not overly concerned.

The thing that annoys me the most is that they could've easily made it so that there are a bunch of skills that you do out of your vocation action, and using the action gives you a different selection of skills. So steady shot gives you more precision oriented skills, defend gives you shield skills, the thief run gives you skills with high mobility, it really wouldn't have been that hard

Trickster seems interesting. If the pawn AI is beefed up and competent, being able to exert battlefield control and buff your pawns might make for some fun gameplay.
Glad to see that several vocations seem like they could offer their own gameplay style. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up maxing out Sorcerer, Magic Archer, Mystic Spearhand and Trickster on my firat playthough.
I find it a bit funny though that anons' primary complaint is that being a buffbot healbawd mage as an arisen is a chore and the first thing itsuno does is go and add a DEDICATED buttbot arisen-only class.

It's already surprisingly viable in DDDA. If you can find 2 other competent pawns picking mage and abusing the shit out of Grapnel and Comestion for CC and making sure everyone has the right enchantment up you can let pawns do like 80% of the work against everything but dragons and Daimon/Death. And they'll even eventually kill dragons, as long as you deal the killing blow, you just need to constantly pick them up after roars. Also if an optimized ranger gets possessed and you don't notice it can 1shot your squishy mage ass, which is very funny when it happens.

True. In a game like DD, you want to be the cool guy doing the monster climbing and toppling. Having an inverse option seems niche, but it depends on what you can pull off with illusions. Toppling a griffin like it's nothing is potentially very useful. There'll be a lot of butthurt no doubt.

For the elf language in English, they revert to the Japanese audio. Ie. the English voice actors didn't record their own elf-speak.

We have no idea. Probably more hope for it now that we have a weird Purple/Pink hybrid class (thus throwing old vocation theories out the window) than before though.
Having said that, the devs do seem to be sticking to a philosophy of each class having a unique weapon, so I don't know how Mystic Knight would work. Yes Magick Shields are unique, but what replaces their sword/mace?

It's Mahou Kenshi. Knight is Kishi or 騎士.
Not a moon speaker, it's just Kishi is an iconic word due to Final Fantasy's Dragoon Job (Ryukishi) and the Umineko creator/writer.
Kenshi is Swordsman unless a moon speaker has a more accurate EN translation.
In DD(DA) it's just ミスティックナイト, so literally Mystic Knight. 魔剣士, while extremely generic (FF, Tactics Ogre etc), is new to the series.

Assassin was an amalgamation of Fighter and Strider. Seeing them split Strider into Thief and Archer shows they wanted to flesh out unique aspects of vocations rather than have them share a bunch of tools. Assassin goes directly against this vision so I wouldn't expect the vocation to make it in. The same goes for Strider itself.
The cool tools Assassin had will probably be distributed between Fighter, Thief, and Archer.

Aren't some of the vocations locked behind quests? What if there's regional based vocations that you have to travel somewhere to get? We already know we're getting that sandy area with Sphinxes and middle eastern/egyptian type weapons so why not their own vocations as well that don't tie into the main 4? Like maybe theres a pink class, a purple class and the Trickster as the hybrid of those but they don't have their own advancement or hybrid with the others?

If you didn't minmax the stats, minmaxing the augments works.

Generally, you want to fit in at least Clout for the 20% strength boost. It's applied after the weapon, so it's fairly massive.
Sanctuary reduces all physical damage down to 1 as long as you're at the death door (the low health state). It can supersede pretty much all defensive augments.

I'd say Sanctuary is better than Mettle and Recuperation. You can drop those two, take Sanctuary and shove Vehemence in the slot that opened up. That's 10% extra strength, multiplicative with Clout.
I don't think Articulacy does anything on Fighter.
If you can stomach always running around at death's door with its shitty screen, you can slot in Exhilaration for a massive 35% multiplicative boost.
Just keep in mind that the total boost from all the augments can't go above 80%.
Having Clout, Vehemence, and Exhilaration will put you at 78.2% bonus strength.
