Nothing in this game dicks me as hard as these living armours do. Daimon was easier than this. A room full of eliminators is easier than this. Lord have mercy, I have an abysmal magick stat due to playing mostly as fighter/assassin/warrior but I'm gonna have to master MK to deal with these c**ts
I have too many of these, first 5 replies with a Steam pawn get one (except the pawns that I rented recently because I already gifted you one)

If you have a hard time with RC just do the "From another sky" quests and do re-runs of the game as the emblems carry over. The quests will reset and net you 100.000 RC each run.

I get what you are saying, but personally I can't start modding in shit like that, because I'll just start abusing it and then the game turns dull.

>What weapon >Weapon (singulary)
You're going to carry a weapon of each element type, and you're going to like it.
And currently I'm carrying: Virge of Madness, Magebreaker, Font of Fire, Crescending Roar and Cursed Light (because I can't be arsed to farm Ur-Dragon for the holy mace).
Why bother farming for anything? If you can beat BBI theres no point grinding anymore, you can beat that shit on hard mode at level 40 and even earlier.
All magic weapon skills for daggers and swords scale with weapon magic. Except Immolation which for some reason scales purely with strength and magic doesn't affect it at all.

Better to just have Holy Trance, Thunder Trance, and Holy Riposte.
The only thing weak to dark is the dark bishop who is a chump.
Magebreaker has a default ice enchantment for cyclopes and wyrms.
Lightning affinity for elder ogres and wieneratrice.
Holy Riposte and Holy Trance for anything weak to holy.
There, you have every good element covered. Swap out thunder for fire if you're not in BBI.

You can swap off Holy Trance for Abyssal Anguish and just find any one of the 4002353 blue pawns with Holy Affinity anyway. Also if you really want fire damage you can run Stone Jungle, which is a great spell on its own. If your loadout is >cannon + stone jungle + free space >thunder trance + abyssal anguish + holy riposte
Then you have every single element covered if you have magebreaker.
She shows up with her moniker for some reason, you should let people know that if you're gonna ask for hires again. I favorited and will take her out later.

Hard mode is a joke as a warrior and makes it apparent to me now why you guys say the vocation sucks. No better feeling exodus slashing a horde of hobgoblins charging and flailing at you and them being completely unphased by it. This is like DMC dmd mode where every has DT but you're nowhere nearly as mobile as Dante in melee. >Get a better weapon, level up etc
I know i know or just play a vocation that can actually dodge and kite and doesn't require staggering enemies to work.
Has the best knockdown stats sure but it doesn't mean anything if you can't apply it safely. What would you have me do, run in circles and jump slash the goblin crowd once in a while?
He's way worse than most other vocations get real.
Did you miss the part where i said it's horrible against attacks with more than one hit if it can't stagger the enemy? It's the reason why i specificaly mentioned the goblin flailing charge as a problem. Exodus is good but not nearly enough.
How smartass? The scenario is 5 hobgoblins and you stagger them with 4 jump attacks from a longsword. More than one can decide to flail charge at you at any time i retried a lot.
>goblin flailing charge
just... walk out of the way? jump attack them? exodus slash in another direction? i have no idea how you could possibly be having trouble with this >stagger them with 4 jump attacks from a longsword
you are under geared, take your time instead of leaving yourself open, or get better gear
2 years ago
Anonymous
You can't walk away or jump out of the way. You can only run away and have to actually run for quite a while.
I can do the same fight easily with any other vocation even undergeared. It's only warrior who relies so much on stagger that hard mode fricks them over so much. Fricks them over meaning you have to just get even better gear than what you'd need in normal mode. Your tactics don't change. You guys can try it for yourselves though. Go fight hard mode hobgoblins with the starting longsword level 17.

>level 17 hard mode
Hard mode isn't even balanced for a fresh character. But you can use all the money you're getting from hard mode to buy yourself barbed nails and a better weapon to catch up easily. Level Ranger to get Impact. You're level 17 on hard mode and wondering why you're doing poorly. The other vocations wouldn't exactly be at peak performance either. Warrior is just as good as any other vocation, complaining about this specific case doesn't make it a bad vocation.

It certainly worse than other vocations at quite a lot of things. Plus i've done the fresh hard underleveled whatever with other vocations and it was fine. Harder but doable, hits felt like my fault. I'm sure it's fine with better gear and levels but it just goes to show hard mode and warrior mix very poorly compared to the others.

>Warrior is just as good as any other vocation
I love playing warrior but this really isn't true. Their damage requires a ton of risk for not that much reward in the long run, they're slow as shit, they only get 3 skills for some reason and you've even said yourself that you shouldn't play one normally but have to resort to jump attack spam else you're attacking too slowly to be effective.
Anonymous
Not to mention that there are certain enemies that Warrior simply can't do anything to like Condemned Cyclops besides spamming Arc of Deliverance on their feet/hands or Hydras which they have to poke to death with jump attacks. No other vocation really has this issue.

Anonymous
That's why you play strider instead. You go to condemned gorecyclops, use pilfer to rob it until your pawns are maxed in weight and you're almost max, then just finger it.

Awakened Daimon as Warrior is a meme regardless of your setup. Ironically Iraklis Warrior which is normally a meme build is the only way for warrior to actually damage Awakened Daimon efficiently.
bro just equip impact and barbed nails, get a better weapon with more knockdown, use jump attacks, it shouldnt be hard to knock down enemies with warrior, youre doing something inefficiently
Might as well tell me to just level up. I never said it was hard to knock stuff down as a warrior. But the moment you can't the vocation completely falls apart in crowds. Hard mode makes it really obvious at the start. Poor warriors have no true range are slow and their i-frame move depends on them staggering the enemy if it's more than a single hit attack.
How smartass? The scenario is 5 hobgoblins and you stagger them with 4 jump attacks from a longsword. More than one can decide to flail charge at you at any time i retried a lot.
see that's when i'd whip out indomitable lunge and see who stat checks who (on normal it's always warrior stat checks gobshit btw)

They should just make warrior hits stagger smaller enemies no matter what or something. It's really a nightmare going against big groups that ignore your slow ass wide attacks and can kill you in 4 hits. Or better yet give him a parry mechanic like DDO alchemist when you time your attack as an enemy would hit you.

That's the same as being able to evade the drake all day but unable to damage it. And people hate that kind of damage calculation because it's just a gear check at this point even if your strategy is fine. I get this has an rpg aspect to it but it doesn't stop it feeling terrible when it rears its ugly head during action.

I personally never fail gear checks past my first playthrough because I always upgrade my equipment. My first playthrough I thought it was gonna be like other RPGs that shower you in better stuff as loot, but instead most of the good shit is bought in stores and upgrades matter a lot.

Only gear check i consistently "fail" is BBI Bishop going in BBI before Grigs. If you can't kill that possessed dragon fast enough you're in for a looong fight.
all I wanted as a Warrior is being able to cancel attack animations with certain skills or a jump. every button press feels like such a commitment when every swing animation takes 10 seconds to start and 10 more to finish
Why holy counter?
Also i'd argue sorcerer can have their niche cases and you lose nothing because you still have access to the previous verions. Pawn AI is a different story.
Can you elaborate? Is it because of the way they scale?
Deadly gouge straight up scales worse than dire gouge, the 3 forward balls of hallowed feint come out in a wider arc than blessed riposte. As for upgraded sorc spells, pawn AI can't handle it and will unleash grand bolides on harpies and gobbos
>pawn AI can't handle it and will unleash grand bolides on harpies and gobbos
2 bolides will always hit one enemy, having multiple enemies means each bolide will attempt to hit each and every one, if one gets taken out when a bolide hits another enemy the next bolide will target the remaining, its actually very good on multiple enemies due to splash damage, you're spouting bullshit.
>Upgraded sorcerer anything is worse.
What was that? I can't hear you over the sound of this High Maelstrom. Seriously, this thing is fricking loud. I also can't see because my screen is covered in flying dirt.
Upgraded Sorcerer spells take way too long to cast and Pawns will always try to cast the maximized version.
>Upgraded sorcerer anything is worse.

>I also can't see because my screen is covered in flying dirt.
Oh wonderous joy when I realized High Miasma was a very effective maneater killer. Also a wonderful spell in general. Especially with a rusted staff.
I really wish there a version of Hard Mode with just the damage modifiers. I really like going down in 1-2 hits in combat, which is a staple feature of hard mode, especially on Hard Mode. On the other hand, I HATE the stamina and knockdown changes of knockdown: it simply makes some skills not worth using, and it cucks you out of spamming the fun skills in combat.
>stamina and knockdown changes
Hard Mode should be reserved for when you're already high level and geared up, when that shit barely makes a difference anyway. It really wasn't balanced for a new game.
I'm fine with hard mode. My grievances with it at higher levels don't really change, which is that the stamina consumption for skills is way too high. For example on normal, I'll be able to use antler toss, dragon's maw, hindsight slash and the shield stab skill like 20 times. Whereas on hard mode, I'll only be able to use these skills like 7-10 times. The only thing this achieves is the pace of combat being slowed down since I can't effectively use my skills. Or me opening the menu every 5 seconds to down mushrooms to counteract the insane stamina drain.
Stagger has a similar issue, enemies end up having WAY too much poise. Clairvoyance for example is pretty shitty on hard mode. Because, you can perfectly execute it only to be b***hslapped by a mob who wasn't staggered by the parry while you're moving through the riposte animation. Yeah I can alleviate this somewhat with double barbed nails, but the issue will always exist to an extent.
If you don't have stamina, then skills will have to have a cooldown for balance purposes. This would lead to significantly less satisfying combat.
If they bring back forgeries they better give you the option to search for items/materials or at the very least automatically sort it alphabetically.
For forgeries I'd like the ability to dupe more than 1 of an item at a time. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to dupe 5-10 of an item if I have the money to do so.
A good build is Maelstrom, Seism and Bolide (DON'T upgrade them!) and only have those three skills.
Personally my pawn has High Miasma, Maelstrom, Glicel, High Ingle/Comestion, High Fulmination, and High Blearing if I'm running as a Magic Knight or Holy Affinity if I'm running practically everything else.

depends what you want to minmax
if all you care about is damage then just play assassin from 10 to 200
warrior trades a small amount of damage for a shitload of health
Ranger trades a little more damage for a shitload of stamina
Any combination of them works out fine.
>minmax for the purposes of assassin or ranger
Any vocation that doesn't level magick seems like it would be fine to me.
There's no effect for carrying capacity, right?
I don't really care much for health or stamina, since Ranger is just blast arrow spam if I optimize. I was just looking for excuses to use big hammers and I don't like mystic knight.

This game is pure fun sometimes. Other than that macabre statute in BBI, that could only be reached with a siren, I don't remember any other places where you could utilize harpies that way.
fighter and strider get augments that affect carrying weight but stats have no effect on it, just character size.
Warrior is 85% as good as Assassin in terms of damage, whether that matters is up to you
>I was just looking for excuses to use big hammers
m8 i leveled every vocation, even the magic ones, and i still wreck shit as ranger (my favorite vocation) without any blast arrows, so yeah warrior will be fine
It doesn't really matter whether you take 10 levels as a fighter/strider, go to bitterbutt and play 190 levels as a ranger or assassin.
In the end there'll be maybe 150 difference in damage, maybe 50 in difference in health/stamina.
And your gear is going to more than make up for it regardless.
I really like strider, because I enjoy robbing the random pawns that wander to the north of Gran Soren.
Strider is also a great vocation:
Skullsplitter shreds everything. Especially if you combine it with elemental weapons and barbed nails.
Leaping stone helps you advance directly to Skullsplitter and can also be used on certain items in the terrain, so you can reach places even doubling jumping can't.
Can steal shit.

Start fighter, rank up to vehemence, go warrior, rank up to clout, go strider to rank 9 for various augments, then go Assassin
Assassin already has the max attack growth in the game and better stamina gains than Warrior. You'll have no defense but defense is gay.
>You'll have no defense but defense is gay
Can't damage what you can't hit. And if you actually manage to hit me it's because I let you. Masterful Kill
Nothing personnel, kid!
minmaxing is utterly pointless and can be actively detrimental. That said if you're playing assassin it already has the overall best stat growths in the game for physical classes.
You shouldn't minmax. Even if you do pure Warrior from 10 to 200 and then decide you want to play sorc, with full dragonforged and rarified Lv.3 BBI gear, the gap between you and someone who played more balanced spread of different vocations will be like 15% stat difference.
Just a reminder that if you use nothing but BBI gear and your loose pawn looks like every other fricking loose pawn, congratulations because you're playing the game how you want to play it.
If they don't finish their task, and stay out of any conflict they'll potentially live forever. The Dragonforged, who was so old he crumbled to dust, is an example of that.
If you know what you're doing? About two hours. Grigs battle takes a long time the first time. God I wish I could delete my memory and do it for the first time again.
wtf happens if the arisen kills the dragon and refuses to challenge the seneschal, like he just says frick this man i killed the dragon now imma frick off to not france and drink some wine and hit on some brown b***hes
If you think about it, just from a perspective of quality of life, the arisen is encouraged to defeat the dragon. Your heart is gone, the thing pumpjnv your blood. Imagine how cold you'd get. No fast heartbeat when running, scared, excited. No flushing skin and warmth. no erections
Man, imagine being turned into an immortal being, given the opportunity to create a big, titty goth gf and not being able to give her ballsdeep, leglocked, mating press creampies 24/7.

So what? Ddda had an empty basegame with about 5 skyrim tier dungeons. Pawns had fricking awful ai and felt useless. Bbbi was servicable but despite being very short had a whole bunch of copy pasted areas.
The large monsters were cool but there wasnt much variety. I really dont understand why Ganker likes this game so much
>contemporary
Also there's nothing wrong with reusing old enemies in the sequel. Elden Ring's bigger problem is that the world is unironically too large. They needed to cut down the number of mini-dungeons drastically and sprinkle their rewards through the open world.
>Elden Ring's bigger problem is that the world is unironically too large.
I could probably run the length of elden ring on torrent in less time than i could run across the map in dragons dogma. You talk about sparse combat but elden ring has 6 legacy dungeons that dd has nothing close to matching and about 100 mini dungeons that are all as good as or better than any of the 5 or so in ddogma.
So elden ring is probably 30 times as content dense as dd.
>I could probably run the length of elden ring on torrent in less time than i could run across the map in dragons dogma
If you didn't have liquid vim, yes. The problem is that Torrent is fast enough to outrun any combat encounters, unlike in DD where you can only do that when you can sprint.
If you have liquid vim and sprint across Gransys you'd do it in a fraction of the time it takes to cross Liurna alone. > You talk about sparse combat but elden ring has 6 legacy dungeons that dd has nothing close to matching
None of the legacy dungeons in Elden Ring are as good as BBI except for maybe the capital, which is the only dungeon that felt like a good challenge and not a "enemies have 10x the HP" challenge like the Haligtree. > and about 100 mini dungeons that are all as good as or better than any of the 5 or so in ddogma.
The majority of the mini dungeons are dogshit and wastes of time. >So elden ring is probably 30 times as content dense as dd.
And yet its enemy variety isn't much higher considering the increase in size compared to the two games.
Regardless of any of this, Elden Ring doesn't qualify for my post because you can't read.

Perhaps, but your traversal speed on Torrent is triple what your on foot speed is in DD. I was talking about traversal time. If you weren't a midwit you would understand that the traversal time for an area is proportional to distance and speed.

Sprinting isn't used in either video. Torrent would be about 6x faster, so it takes half the time to traverse ER as DD

87 mins to run across entire ER map on foot
34 mins to run across entire DD map on foot
Sprinting isn't used in either video. Torrent would be about 6x faster, so it takes half the time to traverse ER as DD
QED Black person.

I accept your concession. I'm assuming you didn't have time to find someone doing it as a e-girl to further cherrypick in your favor. And even if you had, you STILL didn't read my post - nor even address what I actually said in that reply, which was about the total area, and not how long it takes to run from one extreme to the other.

>nor even address what I actually said in that reply, which was about the total area, and not how long it takes to run from one extreme to the other.
But I wasn't talking about area. I was talking about the time to cross the map, so you're arguing with a strawman.
jog vs medium jog
It's irrelevant what the speed of the character in one game vs another, what's relevant is how the speed of the character in his own game allows him to traverse the environment. Are you really this dense or am i being trolled?

And I wasn't.
As I said, you continue making yourself look like a moron by failing to read my posts then posting non sequiturs in reply.
You also failed to prove the time to cross the map was comparable as even your cherrypicked example was significantly shorter. >It's irrelevant what the speed of the character in one game vs another, what's relevant is how the speed of the character in his own game allows him to traverse the environment.
Okay. So compare fatwalking in both games. Or compare someone sprinting on Torrent to someone Mad Dash Instant Resetting with liquid vim or you're cherrypicking.

One of these is how most players would traverse the game world. The other is a ridiculously labour intensive way of traversing the game world requiring consumables.
You might as well compare the zipping glitch in elden ring, you moron. You utter, utter moron.

>One of these is how most players would traverse the game world. The other is a ridiculously labour intensive way of traversing the game world requiring consumables.
Then compare sprinting with mushrooms (the way the majority of players traverse the world when not teleporting), you'd get the same results even though that would still be cherrypicking as you'd still be comparing the fastest traversal method to one of the faster but not fastest traversal methods. >You might as well compare the zipping glitch in elden ring, you moron. You utter, utter moron. >comparing moving fast with the skill whose entire purpose is to make you move fast and is designed for you to use it to move fast to abusing bugs and glitches

Also there's nothing wrong with reusing old enemies in the sequel. Elden Ring's bigger problem is that the world is unironically too large. They needed to cut down the number of mini-dungeons drastically and sprinkle their rewards through the open world.

Concession for moving the goalposts from >the gameworlds are the same size >actually they aren't, but they take the same amount of time to traverse >actually they don't, but they do if you don't use torrent and the DD player is weighed down and takes a circuitous route and stops to pick berries along the way >actually using movement skills designed to be used for fast movement is just like abusing frame-perfect glitches that require precise positioning and inputs and hours upon hours of practice >I never brought up Elden ring. No, someone who made a non-sequitur comment about Elden Ring's open world being barren and traversed too easily due to enemies being non-threatening and unable to pursue you. To which you apparently began responding to my original post as though it were a valid example even though said post explicitly states that it is not. No. You didn't explicitly reply to that statement and by doing so implicitly stated that your argument about comparing two drastically different game's movement speed instead of objective things like the actual size of the world was proof that it wasn't correct.

It's pretty much the only team-based real-time action RPG in existence. Everything else is something turn based or other weird type of isometric classic cRPG "combat". The potential is amazing if done with proper budget and artistic freedom.
Not to mention it does many "immersive" things better than fricking FromSoft games do which are hailed for that.
You actually can change your character height and weight, which affects gameplay like being able to go into goblin holes or how much stamina you have, how fast you are, how strong winds affect you etc.
Dungeons and caves are actually dark as frick so you have to use a lantern that can get wet if it touches water and extinguish itself.
Games today struggle with mechanics like this, and people hope that Itsuno will finally get to have his full RPG dream game with proper adventure feel.
The only thing that is up to debate is the whole Pawn system. Many people would definitely prefer to have predefined, well written characters that can join your team, but with a properly established and complex enough system, it won't have to be like that if people can create actually unique Pawns with unique personalities and behavior.
Dragons dogma isnt team based though. The ai is absolutely atrocious so only the constant spamming of "wolves hunt in packs" give you the illusion youre in a party of 4 adventurers whereas in reality its you and 3 utterly moronic ai scripts that do a shitty job at anything they attempt.
Just killed the dragon, some credits showed and then there was a scene near a bonfire in where I guess is Cassardis and then Valmiro comes and he and my character start making out, what the frick? I'm a male character and never gave anything to him.
A shitty romance system they implemented because they were rushed.
They planned to have few predefined romance options but ran out of time to make them (and develop ending where you don't have a beloved) so now your "Beloved" is whoever has the highest affection to you. So doing a lot of quests for a character means they will like you more up to a maximum point.
Now, you can have multiple people with max affection. Then the game decides that your beloved is whoever you talked to LAST.
Yea it's convoluted and moronic but it leads to funny scenarios. Also you can romance literally ANY npc you can talk to and give gifts.
I didn't even remember about Valmiro, had to google his name to remember the quest. I saw him being attacked by the dragon and asked to choose if I wanted to save him or not. I thought it was a random NPC, since I wanted to fight the dragon I chose to save him.

Getting jape'd by Asalam in my first playthrough was rough.
I don't think it's ever explained what Dusty's wish was. Only that he either fought the dragon, b***hed out and managed to escape or didn't have the balls to fight it at all.

Is that ever explained in-game? I could never figure out when he was supposed to live in the timeline, as he seemed to have lived before Savan, yet died along with Grig implying that Grig must have been "his" dragon.

>Is that ever explained in-game?
He literally tells you he's a ghost, he talks about the Arisen's quest as if he's done it and he's covered in burn marks and literally named the "dragon forged." As in, forged by a dragon. As in, bathed in the Dragon's fire. Do they need to spell it out for you? > as he seemed to have lived before Savan
There's nothing really to indicate this. Savan was the last Arisen to slay the Dragon and become Seneschal, but it's not like Savan's Dragon was the last dragon to appear. Each Arisen in the base game represents the possible outcome of the cycle. Savan is the successful Arisen who becomes the Seneschal and watches over the world until the next Seneschal arrives. Sofiah is the Arisen who defeats the Dragon then lives out the rest of their life in peace with their pawn. Grigori is the Arisen who fails to defeat the Seneschal and becomes the Dragon instead. The Dragonforged refused the wish but failed to defeat the dragon. The Duke took the Dragon's bargain and sacrificed Lenore. The player becomes Seneschal but rejects their fate by committing suicide, with unknown results.
He didn't die. The dragonforged calls himself a revenant, it's more like he was burnt beyond recognition to any non-arisen.
He may not have fully perished by whatever the outcome he was defeated by the Dragon.

yeah iirc he even talks about how your bond is a weakness if you do the bond quest then talk to him before grigs but yeah it makes the most sense to me that he didn't take the bargain (couldn't) and failed, because then it leaves the duke who did, and you who didn't and succeeded
2 years ago

also grigs in his fight says >Heed well this place, Arisen. Know the frailty of the works of man. This hold once stood proud and firm... 'Twas the fool's decision of a man too weak brought it down. which i'm assuming refers to how grigs says he'll burn everything if we lose to him after refusing the bargain (which is what i assume happened to the dragonforged, tried to fight and lost so grigs burnt the place)
But he was: >Death was once an Arisen. The notice board quests The Wages of Death I, II, III, and IV, were written by Death. In The Wages of Death IV, it states, "I have cast away the shackles of the Arisen. In form and function, I have embraced my calling... as death."

The monument also explains exactly how he became Death.
He got stuck in BBI, went insane because of loneliness because he kept killing other arisens he met instead of talking to them and started thinking he could appease his dragon by sacrificing the lives of other arisens for his home

>started thinking he could appease his dragon by sacrificing the lives of other arisens for his home
He originally wanted to save his homeland from the Dragon, but after going insane in BBI he started hearing voices telling him that he had to collect a thousand souls for his homeland instead. So he went to see his Dragon and wished to become Death.
RCs. It's great to complete the chain once and use it farm easy RC by speedrunning the game several times.
If you just follow the guide, with a couple strategically placed warpstones, it's done in a couple of hours. But yeah, the emblems only spawning when you have the quest, and only being able to have six quests at a time was fricking bullshit.
Reminder that the dragonforged is called the dragonforged and his arms are black because his weapon broke during his fight with the dragon and he fought with his bare hands which became dragonforged
Yes and no. Dragonforged's spear most likely broke while fighting the dragon, and he was then badly injured, probably burned, making him "dragonforged". It's not his fists, it's him.
The Dragonforged died while fighting the Dragon. He's literally a ghost. Hence why he says "You can see me?" when you meet him. He's part of the cycle. Arisen that die to the Dragon live on as shades to mentor future Arisen.
He didn't die, based on what we know he would be a lesser dragon then, but he is in some sort of limbo.
He probably took the "third" option Grigori gives, after failing the fight >If you sought to live you had naught but run and hide yourself away
His current state is >The Dragonforged suffered mortal injury in combat with the wyrm, though he persists now between life and death >A thousand years since it was stolen, and yet it beats... As long as the dragon lives, the hearts in its safekeeping know no death
All Arisens are mortally wounded you fricking moron.

You're literally arguing about a videogame where a dragon pierces your chest and steals your heart then eats it.
If you have a staff and you can levitate up the cliff whenever you want
>playing a class that can doublejump/leviate
What are you, women?
Isn't the dragon's deal with the arisen that he must sacrifice his beloved(s)? So he can't get close to anyone like duke edmun or he loses it and chokes them to death ala the incident with aelinore. So the dragonforged just avoids all human interaction, that way he can't get close to anyone
I think the sacrifice changes depending on what's most important to the Arisen, which in (you)r case, as well as the Duke and Ashe, is other people. This why the Arisen's Bond manifests itself as a ring for you. Seemingly it didn't have that form for the Dragonforged, so his sacrifice must have been something else. He implies he considers bonds to be a weakness.
Instant Reset seems to be inoffensive at worst. Hundred Kisses for when they climb.
Fivefold, Fracture Dart and Downpour Volley. If you think your pawn is using too much bow just unequip it.
Well, if you want to go full aughtism and abuse pawn AI, keep it limited to splitter and fracture dart. Those are the two strongest skills strider has. Instant Reset is alright to add, pawns use it somewhat inconsistently to get out of stagger animations.
>trying to gleam details about what may or may not have happened to character xyz in this unfinished game
There are many questions left open. The dragon implies essentially destroying the world if the arisen loses. "Show that you possess power fit to best me, or your world is forfeit unto ruin. And by your own choosing, what is more. The one you refused to offer up shall die as sure as the rest." If the dragonforged lost, how is there still humans on gransys?
Isn't the dragon's deal with the arisen that he must sacrifice his beloved(s)? So he can't get close to anyone like duke edmun or he loses it and chokes them to death ala the incident with aelinore. So the dragonforged just avoids all human interaction, that way he can't get close to anyone
>Rush in and grab hold of its neck -- it's risky but might work! >If we can but cleave off all its heads... >Focus on the wounded head! Cleave it free! >Now - sever its head!
try throwing your pawn at it when it opens it's mouth, that's always fun
thing is I have no idea how to kill bosses with him, I just picked it up post-dragon since I wanted sinew
If I wanted an easy time I would switch to strider
Fighter isn't too bad at climing, just grab one of the heads and R1 it. That or bait it into head slamming you then Dragon's Maw as the head comes down.
I'm currently melting them as a warrior so I'm not sure what you're doing wrong. Generally I just wait for them to lower their heads in that dumb snout attack, grab one and start hitting it until it breaks. Then maybe back off in case it starts moving around since getting run over is really the only thing that's a threat, but you can just keep heavy jump attacking at the severed neck until it gets up. Having a Sorcerer buffing your weapon and doing fire damage also goes a long way.
God i hope Dragon's Dogma 2 is going to be good. I'm afraid that it will be a watered down piece of shit aimed at normalgays like sequels tend to be nowadays.

Firedrakes, Frostwyrms, Thunderwyverns, and Cursed Dragons are exclusive to Bitterblack Isle. Cursed Dragons are very good at dragonforging (I once nailed 7 items with one kill), and the most reliable way is by killing the Ur-Dragon during the grace period (which only happens maybe once or twice a week, depends on how active the community is)

Anybody playing on ps4? Take my goth statusprostitute gf on a date, lvl 109 ranger, moniker poison, equipped with silverforged oil daggers, and a rusted longbow.
many things can activate a Great Cannon. some of the best are Ruinous Sigil, the floating orbs from a holy parry, and a pawn's Fulmination. Full Moon Slash is good too
usually the most efficient way to use the skill is to place two Cannons right next to each other, and use the above methods to shoot a really high number or projectiles. one thing to note is that there is a limit to how many projectiles can be active at any time; meaning that if you're generating too many, they might "die" before reaching an opponent (you can see this in the webm at around 12 seconds, where the Mystic Knight places another cannon and for a moment too many projectiles are created, and the Gorecyclops stops losing health)
the cannon's damage can be further increase by first enchanting your main weapon to something that's strong against the opponent (or using one of the permanently enchanted sword/maces)

What weapon is good for a mystic knight?
All of bbi weapos are pure str damage while mk is said to deal more with magic.
Aren't maces better than swords in terms of magic?
I mean, BBI lvl3 mace has 153 more str damage than lvl3 sword. Both have 0 magic damage.
>What weapon
>Weapon (singulary)
You're going to carry a weapon of each element type, and you're going to like it.
I'm sure I will.
Which means periapts are mandatory for MK to get over damage thresholds?
Stack 4 Demon's and 4 Conqueror's periapts when it's go time.
I finished this game 5 years ago, and again today. Great game. Greater ending. Cannot wait for DD2, I trust Itsuno to deliver us a flawless product.
It's a fun game to play. Why bother do anything in any game at all?
All magic weapon skills for daggers and swords scale with weapon magic. Except Immolation which for some reason scales purely with strength and magic doesn't affect it at all.
lmao why just use trances on the BBI lv2 mace.
>lmao why just use trances on the BBI lv2 mace.
That's a skill slot I could use for something else.
Like what?
The only shield spells worth using are abyssal anguish and trances.
Holy Furor is cool but impractical.
Fire, ice and lighting trances along with the holy shield. Anything weak to dark get the big bonk instead.
>You're done, bro. Just stop playing the game now, bro
Theres literally no reason, theres no ng+ scaling, I wish there fricking was a reason to grind but autisming all the way to 200 is pointless when the content literally stops at 80.
I've completed the game dozens of times as different vocations, different skill setups, self imposed limitations etc. I just enjoy it too much.
What are you even doing in this thread?
You're a misreading moron intentionally ignoring what I wrote. Starting new games is fine, one shotting everything is NOT fun or engaging gameplay.
I'm not ignoring anything you wrote. My answer can literally be boiled down to "I'm having F U N". Why is this such a foreign concept to you?
You're not even having any sort of challenge how is that fun? I bet you use dx8input aswell. Guess what? You're not playing the game at that point.
>You're not even having any sort of challenge how is that fun?
"I've completed the game dozens of times as different vocations, different skill setups, self imposed limitations etc"
>I bet you use dx8input aswell.
Now you're just projecting.
>Guess what? You're not playing the game at that point.
Yes, I'm the one not playing the game by quitting at level 80 because "YOU'VE DONE EVERYTHING NOW. STOP PLAYING!"
Do you even read what you write before posting?
>I bet you use dx8input aswell
I do, it tells me in-game time 😀
>He can't tell the time from the position of the sun
Let me guess, you're american.
>position of the sun
level 200 is for Ur-dragon speedkills and farming BBI for fun.
>Fire, ice and lighting trances along with the holy shield.
I'm not taking off abyssal anguish.
You can swap off Holy Trance for Abyssal Anguish and just find any one of the 4002353 blue pawns with Holy Affinity anyway. Also if you really want fire damage you can run Stone Jungle, which is a great spell on its own. If your loadout is
>cannon + stone jungle + free space
>thunder trance + abyssal anguish + holy riposte
Then you have every single element covered if you have magebreaker.
Boring b***h
30+ hours in and never had my pawn hired. On Steam.
What was her level at last rest and also moniker just in case. I will try and find her and hire later.
Screenshot is current. Moniker is Red. Just rested right now at Lv 35.
She shows up with her moniker for some reason, you should let people know that if you're gonna ask for hires again. I favorited and will take her out later.
You rock anon
She still level 35?
37 now.
Bumped to 38 after the Fedel letter quest
Try mine. Still at 0 hires at the moment
Make sure to rest so she's updated in the list.
Hired, but yeah like the other anon said she only showed up with her moniker
I wonder what's the deal with that
the servers have been acting up lately it seems. lots of weird bullshit going on recently.
too fat
Oh yes, deliciously so
DD2 better come with 100% more thigh and ass armor.
god frick this stupid fricking system I will personally shit on Itsuno's desk if they bring this shit back in a sequel
It should only exist to stretch out the content Bitterblack was.
Are you aware of how it works?
>Oh look, the arisen is using destructible items to climb higher
>Guess I'll fricking break them
why
but what if there's aught inside those barrels??
I hate this
>train your pawn to break stuff
>your pawn breaks stuff
>other arisen do this too
>every single pawn ever created breaks stuff
It's natural to them, rook breaks boxes too
>climb on armored cyclops
>he's about to swipe off his own helmet
>mage pawn hits him with lightning and stuns him, canceling the helmet animation
You fricking idiot
Those pawns get low ratings from me with the comment "this pawn needs training" Little frickers.
You know what to do.
?t=36
Is it better if I clear BBI now that I’m done with my current playthrough? Or is it better I start NG+ on hard for that fat stack of loot?
only gransys loot seems to change on hard and it's just sacks of gold anyway
go to BBI first if you want a real challenge.
is there anything more satisfying then cutting off 20 hydra heads during a fight?
yeah, killing the hydra without cutting off any heads
Pawn system was trash and I hope it wont be in this but it will be cause you autistic fricks want it.
nah it was really good actually
why would you willingly choose to have the wrong opinion?
What's the lightest stamina consumable? Mushroom?
I believe the Large Mushroom is the best pound of pound and availability wise
I just want to use them to stunlock dragons with Arc, so it doesn't really matter how much it gives back as long as I can use it again
Is there an explanation to all of these?
ya
Hard mode is a joke as a warrior and makes it apparent to me now why you guys say the vocation sucks. No better feeling exodus slashing a horde of hobgoblins charging and flailing at you and them being completely unphased by it. This is like DMC dmd mode where every has DT but you're nowhere nearly as mobile as Dante in melee.
>Get a better weapon, level up etc
I know i know or just play a vocation that can actually dodge and kite and doesn't require staggering enemies to work.
Warrior doesn't suck, and is the best at knockdowns even on hard mode. Git gud, unironically.
Has the best knockdown stats sure but it doesn't mean anything if you can't apply it safely. What would you have me do, run in circles and jump slash the goblin crowd once in a while?
He's way worse than most other vocations get real.
>having trouble with goblins
The problem is you, not Warrior.
You're not even arguing the same thing with me.
bro do you even exodus slash
Did you miss the part where i said it's horrible against attacks with more than one hit if it can't stagger the enemy? It's the reason why i specificaly mentioned the goblin flailing charge as a problem. Exodus is good but not nearly enough.
>goblin flailing charge
just... walk out of the way? jump attack them? exodus slash in another direction? i have no idea how you could possibly be having trouble with this
>stagger them with 4 jump attacks from a longsword
you are under geared, take your time instead of leaving yourself open, or get better gear
Warrior* not ranger
Not to mention that there are certain enemies that Warrior simply can't do anything to like Condemned Cyclops besides spamming Arc of Deliverance on their feet/hands or Hydras which they have to poke to death with jump attacks. No other vocation really has this issue.
Quit b***hing and git gud.
>They should just make warrior hits stagger smaller enemies no matter what
They do if you don't have a shit knockdown rating :^)
If you can't kill that possessed dragon fast enough you're in for a looong fight.
all I wanted as a Warrior is being able to cancel attack animations with certain skills or a jump. every button press feels like such a commitment when every swing animation takes 10 seconds to start and 10 more to finish
is pioneer on bow pawns actually good?
Reminder that the upgraded gouge is worse. Upgraded mk holy counter is worse. Upgraded sorcerer anything is worse.
Why holy counter?
Also i'd argue sorcerer can have their niche cases and you lose nothing because you still have access to the previous verions. Pawn AI is a different story.
Deadly gouge straight up scales worse than dire gouge, the 3 forward balls of hallowed feint come out in a wider arc than blessed riposte. As for upgraded sorc spells, pawn AI can't handle it and will unleash grand bolides on harpies and gobbos
did you ever stop and think that maybe snow harpies and goblins deserve getting struck by meteors?
>will unleash grand bolides on harpies and gobbos
Well yeah, that's the whole reason you carry around a sorcerer pawn
>pawn AI can't handle it and will unleash grand bolides on harpies and gobbos
2 bolides will always hit one enemy, having multiple enemies means each bolide will attempt to hit each and every one, if one gets taken out when a bolide hits another enemy the next bolide will target the remaining, its actually very good on multiple enemies due to splash damage, you're spouting bullshit.
>Upgraded mk holy counter is worse.
how?
Can you elaborate? Is it because of the way they scale?
Upgraded Sorcerer spells take way too long to cast and Pawns will always try to cast the maximized version.
give your sorcerer protection augments and ogre bones and the high spells will be cast no problem. you just have to draw aggro properly
>Upgraded sorcerer anything is worse.
What was that? I can't hear you over the sound of this High Maelstrom. Seriously, this thing is fricking loud. I also can't see because my screen is covered in flying dirt.
>I also can't see because my screen is covered in flying dirt.
Oh wonderous joy when I realized High Miasma was a very effective maneater killer. Also a wonderful spell in general. Especially with a rusted staff.
>Upgraded sorcerer anything is worse.
Factually incorrect
enjoy your pawn never finish casting anything
That sounds like your problem, if you don't recruit a fighter with shield drum thats your fault.
>skill issue
>skill issue
>skill issue
I got powder blast on my assassin playthrough. It's time to spam it repeatedly.
Only skill worth using oil arrows for.
Damn enemy archers. Let me fricking kill you.
If they bring back forgeries they better give you the option to search for items/materials or at the very least automatically sort it alphabetically.
Eh, at this point my character is max level so normal mode is too easy and I default to hard mode.
I think stamina should not exist in this game. In the next replay i'm going to cheat it.
stamina is fine but sprinting draining stamina is a bit pointless so I got rid of that
If you don't have stamina, then skills will have to have a cooldown for balance purposes. This would lead to significantly less satisfying combat.
For forgeries I'd like the ability to dupe more than 1 of an item at a time. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to dupe 5-10 of an item if I have the money to do so.
and it's going to suck
warriorbros...we can have 6 skills now
Am I blind or is there no way to search for pawns by name/moniker?
And if not, then I hope they add that to the new game.
there isn't. I think the switch version has pawn IDs but I dunno how those work.
what skills and inclinations make a good sorcerer?
also do people want the heal/cure spells? they seem like a waste
And for the first build the pawn should have Challenger as primary and Pioneer as secondary inclination. It's nothing fancy but it just werks.
Do NOT give your sorcerer pawn maelstrom. It makes mustard gas and I WILL brine your pawn.
How many of these are real?
define real. some of those are theories but they have some basis in the actual game.
If I want to minmax for the purposes of assassin or ranger, should I use warrior early game?
depends what you want to minmax
if all you care about is damage then just play assassin from 10 to 200
warrior trades a small amount of damage for a shitload of health
Ranger trades a little more damage for a shitload of stamina
Any combination of them works out fine.
There's no effect for carrying capacity, right?
I don't really care much for health or stamina, since Ranger is just blast arrow spam if I optimize. I was just looking for excuses to use big hammers and I don't like mystic knight.
Carrying capacity is determined by your character's weight.
Carrying capacity is determined by your characters weight. Keep them over 109kg and you'll have max carrying capacity.
>109kg
enjoy your nonexistent stamina regen.
Who needs stamina when you have L I Q U I D V I M and S H R O O M S?
>have max carrying capacity
>doesn't matter because you're using it all on mushrooms
The real min-max body type is to be a beanpole. You get dodge rolls that move at near sprinting speed, decent carry weight, and decent stamina
>He doesn't play as a squat dwarf strider with pockets full of shrooms climbing and shredding monsters 50 times his size
NGMI
>people actually wait for their stamina to regen
does everyone not just lug around 100 large mushrooms to inhale over an hour?
Can't stand being so fricking slow, dude. On DDO there's an ability or something that gives you a sprint boost after running for a short period of time. We need that in the next game.
You can always use the Leg-Strength augmentation.
sinew + leg strength + very light + strider maybe
never saw much of ddo, i just hope red vocations get any movement skill to match levitate/double jump
Strider doesn't move faster, assassin does.
oh yeah wrong one my bad
Seriously. I feel so impotent while meanuevering around anywhere. There's so many more pros to being everything except fighter/warrior. It's bullshit.
>secret spot? Need double jump bro
>large gap? Levitate bro
>flying enemy? Need a bow bro
But at least you can roll out of getting laid the frick out
Just play Magic Archer, bro! :^)
it's satisfying to grab a harpy and say the frick the system though
>Grab a pair of flying breasts, skip the locked griffon section of Bluemoon tower and open the shortcut prematurely
This game is pure fun sometimes. Other than that macabre statute in BBI, that could only be reached with a siren, I don't remember any other places where you could utilize harpies that way.
>and I don't like mystic knight
Well I don't like you either!! ;_;
fighter and strider get augments that affect carrying weight but stats have no effect on it, just character size.
Warrior is 85% as good as Assassin in terms of damage, whether that matters is up to you
I really like strider, because I enjoy robbing the random pawns that wander to the north of Gran Soren.
Downpour volley.
Is Downpour Volley a good skill?
It's good for stunning shit with arrows if you git gud at aiming/anticipate where the monsters will move to.
Hailstorm Volley is probably the strongest AOE bow skill in the game.
>I was just looking for excuses to use big hammers
m8 i leveled every vocation, even the magic ones, and i still wreck shit as ranger (my favorite vocation) without any blast arrows, so yeah warrior will be fine
>minmax for the purposes of assassin or ranger
Any vocation that doesn't level magick seems like it would be fine to me.
There is nothing wrong with min/max'ing if you decided from the get-go to limit yourself to a specific vocation.
Just a reminder that if you use nothing but BBI gear and your loose pawn looks like every other fricking loose pawn, congratulations because you're playing the game how you want to play it.
>Shadowy person after second Daimon fight
Explain
As Daimons second form rots away you see the form of a human body.
What's with the dead sorceress corpse on the bridge to daimon room? Is she his pawn waifu?
idk which body you mean but bbi is covered in dead arisen
>dead arisen
I never got this, aren't all the arisen immortal?
no. I imagine the majority of them die before facing the dragon.
they can get killed but otherwise won't die, hence your guy being able to die
>aren't all the arisen immortal?
Why do you think you need wakestones to continue if you die instead of loading a checkpoint?
I see they are immortal in a sense, but they can be killed
If they don't finish their task, and stay out of any conflict they'll potentially live forever. The Dragonforged, who was so old he crumbled to dust, is an example of that.
yeah no dying of sickness/old age for arisen
>secret balcony in fallen city
is that one which has light shining and its very very high?
I think so, i just noticed it yesterday for the first time
Yeah. It's also blocked with a invisible wall.
>redditberg
Yeah, go back
Why is this game so great at making you feel powerful?
I just slapped Grigs ass from the sky by doing a perfect block as he swooped over me.
>play Warrior
>boulder rolls down hill at me
>jump in the air and cleave it in half
This game is fricking amazing at impact feedback.
>Cleaving the boulder
>Not throwing a pawn
I have just cleared the griffon and the wyrmking quests. How many hours until i beat the main quest and go to the dlc? I'm lvl 45.
If you know what you're doing? About two hours. Grigs battle takes a long time the first time. God I wish I could delete my memory and do it for the first time again.
Grigori's voice is so fricking kino, I love when he says "Fight, cling to life!" on the bridge
I prefer the game in wapanese, but David Lodge's voice just fricking sells it in english.
*If you don't know what you're doing
Yeah i don't know what i'm doing. Played it in ps3 but can't remember barely anything. Alzheimer is a hell of a drug.
wtf happens if the arisen kills the dragon and refuses to challenge the seneschal, like he just says frick this man i killed the dragon now imma frick off to not france and drink some wine and hit on some brown b***hes
Truly a curse worse than death.
Hopes and dreams for 2?
>transmog armor
>armor/clothing dye like MH
>more armor layers (head, face if not covered by head equipment, shoulders, chest, cape, arms, gloves, under armor/clothing, belts, pants, leg armor, boots/greaves)
>pawns actually interact with each other with banter/stories of previous adventures had with other Arison/etc and differs depending on their personality types
>can still grab and hold people
>minor morality system (people either begin to fear you or love you, not the main focus of the game tho)
>improved and intuitive menus overall (equipment, items, etc)
>better gore (able to chop limbs off, make foes bleed out, etc)
>able to set up cozy camp to sleep the night off while out adventuring
There's other obvious ones like more classes/fleshed out abilities but I figured those go without saying. How about you anon? What do you want?
you can romance the dragon and create a paradox
>the dragon is a female
I will now buy your game
need more villainess dragons
That's basically Daimons storyline.
And I want to get the good ending daimon never got with my own mommy dragon gf
donkey canonnically fricked a dragon before you
>transmog armor
>armor/clothing dye like MH
i never liked these personally, i like forcing people to pick between fashion or stats rather than have everyone use the exact same best armor and boring full sets layered over it, mixed clown sets are soul
and idk i just always see people dye armors in ways that just look ugly, like bright colors or their entire armor is now just 1 color
The 1 color theme horse shit I see people using on MH makes me sick to my ass
more choice isn't always good
Just being able to dye your gear would be good enough for me. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if you had to grind for the materials to do so.
>fix camera and controls during climbing, right now it's impossible to climb onto anything in BBI without Adhesion
>more armor choices/better looking armor, 90% of stuff in DD1 looks like shit
>most important: bigger Pawn customization, i know it will be huge budget issue with voice acting etc., but letting us create Pawn personality like a snarky rogue elf or an honorable paladin would be amazing, give pawns more varied and reactive dialogue etc.
>Fix UI and UX. Right now it's horrible. Having to jump between so many menus to do basic shit is counterintuitive and i wouldn't be surprised if people dropped the game based on this alone. Also for some reason filling a lantern with Oil makes the UI lag for 2-3 seconds?
>fix character progression system, stats being automatically applied depending on vocation is something that again, scares away people and instead of trying to have fun, they will spend time asking questions on reddit what vocations for how many levels they should use before hitting 200 where they can comfortably play whatever they want, which defeats the purpose of entire game, because by that time, even Death is not an issue
>add a quick bar for PC at least, let us place more than 3 skills there per weapon as well
>add more basic utility skills and spells for vocations, i have no idea why such a LotR/Berserk inspired game doesn't have a simple light spell for a mage/sorcerer like Gandalf does in Moria
>make game less about gear check and more about skill, because having an actually rare weapon that still doesn't do shit because of stupid damage calculation system is discouraging
>more vocations, Monk/Unarmed is an absolute must, Warlock/Summoner/Necromancer maybe? some people talked that they will use V's mechanics from DMC5
>>make game less about gear check and more about skill, because having an actually rare weapon that still doesn't do shit because of stupid damage calculation system is discouraging
What are you talking about? Practically all weapons are viable if you get them gold rarified.
>stats being automatically applied depending on vocation
is something nobody who plays blind would notice and if noticed only idiots would truly care about it
>give every class skills that they can use while climbing a monster
>I'd really love some kind of 4-player co-op that you can do for the vast majority of the game
>unless they put a lot of time and effort into it I DON'T want a mount system tacked on
>at least 2 unique weapons for each class, no 2h warhammers that are just reskinned great swords, give em a greatspear or someshit
>actually more spears in general, and at least one of them needs to not be weebstick wuxia sillyness
>give mage more fun stuff, party stealth spells summoning spirits, it dosen't need to be a discount sorcerer, but there's still a lot you could do with it
Black person just use periods.
Why tf does most of the armor and especially late game armor looks like fricking ass? I'm running around the Everfall with a leather jacket and iron arms/leg pieces and a hunters shirt getting my shit kicked in cuz I like the way they look. I just want to make my character look badass while I outskill the 20 foot tardclopes. Not like some fricking weenie wearing LE EPIC DAEDRIC FLAME OF FURY DEMONIC BRIGHT PURPLE GLOWING LORD ARMOR
God fricking damn capcoom, please hire better armor designers.
Free your mind. Go to Bitterbutt, unlock Barroch (happens very early) and just start rarifying the items you like the look of.
Firsat tme I meet this c**t and he just keeps flying away
Is something of the matter, arisen?
>Ciri
can you post the pawn? Had one hired yesterday with the same name
So what? Ddda had an empty basegame with about 5 skyrim tier dungeons. Pawns had fricking awful ai and felt useless. Bbbi was servicable but despite being very short had a whole bunch of copy pasted areas.
The large monsters were cool but there wasnt much variety. I really dont understand why Ganker likes this game so much
What is this all compared to? Can you name some of its contemporary open world action RPGs with good combat that have more enemy variety than DD?
The witcher 2 is about as open world as dragons dogma (i..e. not very) and considerable more content dense and monster rich.
And its combat is total dogshit in comparison and its enemy variety isn't much greater than DD.
Elden ring. Oh wait its all reused enemies from their previous titles plus a few new ones.
>contemporary
>If you have liquid vim and sprint across Gransys you'd do it in a fraction of the time it takes to cross Liurna alone.
This is simply not true
>None of the legacy dungeons in Elden Ring are as good as BBI except for maybe the capital
Fricking lol. BBI is just a basic nested loop of small and self contained areas, many of which are copy pasted.
>The majority of the mini dungeons are dogshit and wastes of time
Yep, and they're still better than anything in DD
I have played both games fairly extensively.
>This is simply not true
Factually incorrect, try again. The entirety of Gransys is smaller than Limgrave in terms of overworld area.
>Fricking lol. BBI is just a basic nested loop of small and self contained areas, many of which are copy pasted.
And it's still better than any of the legacy dungeons because it actually feels like a dungeon instead of a short level and is actually a challenge.
>Yep, and they're still better than anything in DD
Nope. Some of the puzzle ones are interesting, but too drawn out.
>I have played both games fairly extensively.
>sub 200 hours
>extensively
lol.
Also, you failed to address that DD has objectively better combat and also that you didn't read my fricking post in the first place since Elden Ring wasn't relevant to it in any way, and will do so in your reply as well making yourself look like a moron.
>Factually incorrect, try again. The entirety of Gransys is smaller than Limgrave in terms of overworld area.
Perhaps, but your traversal speed on Torrent is triple what your on foot speed is in DD. I was talking about traversal time. If you weren't a midwit you would understand that the traversal time for an area is proportional to distance and speed.
87 mins to run across entire ER map on foot
34 mins to run across entire DD map on foot
Sprinting isn't used in either video. Torrent would be about 6x faster, so it takes half the time to traverse ER as DD
QED Black person.
Disingenuous Black person
1:15:27 for dragons dogma.
>1:15:27 for dragons dogma.
This proves my point even more
Why did he post that pic?
idk i think riding your horse from limgrave to mountain of the giants is about the same as running from cassardis to the greatwall
>idk i think riding your horse from limgrave to mountain of the giants is about the same as running from cassardis to the greatwall
It's not even close assuming you use liquid vim. And that's not even counting Mad Dash.
>fastest jog vs medium jog
>But I wasn't talking about area. I was talking about the time to cross the map,
And I wasn't.
Or compare someone sprinting on Torrent to someone Mad Dash Instant Resetting with liquid vim or you're cherrypicking.
>compare someone sprinting on Torrent to someone Mad Dash Instant Resetting with liquid vim
I accept your concession.
You still haven't acknowledged that ER isn't even relevant by the way, and look continually stupider by repeatedly bringing it up as if it's a valid response to my original post.
>I accept your concession.
Concession for what, your example of traversal that requires you to unlock skills gated behind strider rank 6 and 7 and using consumables vs something players can do within 5 minutes of starting the game?
>You still haven't acknowledged that ER isn't even relevant by the way
I never brought up Elden ring. I'm not
I was initially replying to
, which presumably is you. Someone so stupid that he doesn't understand more speed makes you traverse a given distance in less time
>Concession for what, your example of traversal that requires you to unlock skills gated behind strider rank 6 and 7 and using consumables vs something players can do within 5 minutes of starting the game?
Concession for moving the goalposts from
>the gameworlds are the same size
>actually they aren't, but they take the same amount of time to traverse
>actually they don't, but they do if you don't use torrent and the DD player is weighed down and takes a circuitous route and stops to pick berries along the way
>actually using movement skills designed to be used for fast movement is just like abusing frame-perfect glitches that require precise positioning and inputs and hours upon hours of practice
>I never brought up Elden ring. I'm not
Then don't reply as if you are or you take up the onus of his point.
>I was initially replying to
Also there's nothing wrong with reusing old enemies in the sequel. Elden Ring's bigger problem is that the world is unironically too large. They needed to cut down the number of mini-dungeons drastically and sprinkle their rewards through the open world. (You), which presumably is you. Someone so stupid that he doesn't understand more speed makes you traverse a given distance in less time
No, someone who made a non-sequitur comment about Elden Ring's open world being barren and traversed too easily due to enemies being non-threatening and unable to pursue you. To which you apparently began responding to my original post as though it were a valid example even though said post explicitly states that it is not. Which you "proved" by cherrypicking someone fatwalking and picking flowers to someone running. With which you proved that ER's world was still more than twice as "large."
Again.
I accept your concession.
>>the gameworlds are the same size
Never once claimed this. If you're going to open with such a glaring lie I'm not going to give you the courtesy of reading the rest of your drivel. I accept your concession.
>Never once claimed this.
You did when I said that Limgrave is larger in terms of area than Gransys entire then you said that's simply not true.
Additionally, you continually lean into your comparison of a slow walking berrypicker vs a guy jogging which shows that even when cherrypicked in your favor it still takes more than twice as long to cross ER's world.
Additionally, each of your posts continually makes you look more and more moronic, as you continue to ignore that ER is completely irrelevant to this discussion in the first place as directly stated in my original post, which asekd for a
CONTEMPORARY
game.
>You did when I said that Limgrave is larger in terms of area than Gransys entire then you said that's simply not true.
You liar.
You said "The entirety of Gransys is smaller than Limgrave in terms of overworld area."
And I responded
"Perhaps, but your traversal speed on Torrent is triple what your on foot speed is in DD."
Stop making shit up.
>You said "The entirety of Gransys is smaller than Limgrave in terms of overworld area."
>And I responded
>"Perhaps, but your traversal speed on Torrent is triple what your on foot speed is in DD."
No. You didn't explicitly reply to that statement and by doing so implicitly stated that your argument about comparing two drastically different game's movement speed instead of objective things like the actual size of the world was proof that it wasn't correct.
Post a video of someone sprinting on torrent vs sprinting across Gransys or you concede to being a massive homosexual who sucks wiener all day just because he likes it so much.
>No. You didn't explicitly reply to that statement
Check again. I fricking quoted it you liar:
>I am a massive homosexual who sucks wiener all day just because he likes it so much.
I accept your statement.
You just got TKOed, lol
Nah, that would be the guy who started arguing an irrelevant point, then when that irrelevant point was coutnered, argued another irrelevant point, only to post a comparison that proved said point was incorrect in spite of being cherrypicked, then literally made a post stating he was wrong and a homosexual.
You don't have to keep posting, the board is anonymous
>samegayging
You literally proved yourself incorrect, then continued making yourself look more moronic, then outright stated that you're a homosexual. Nobody is taking you seriously and nobody believes your failed samegayging attempts.
You got thoroughly felted and called out on the claim "No. You didn't explicitly reply to that statement", and instead of taking the L instead had a meltdown calling him a homosexual. You're now so tilted that you think everyone replying to you is the same person. Just fricking leave it.
>two morons pretending to be six morons arguing about video games
Never change Ganker, never change
And you proved your own point wrong then started harping about semantics of what you really meant by your reply which stated otherwise instead of admitting to being a moron.
>Nah, that would be the guy who...
>blah blah blah
Take the L man. You were probably arguing with three different people
It's pretty much the only team-based real-time action RPG in existence.
What the frick just happened?
Just killed the dragon, some credits showed and then there was a scene near a bonfire in where I guess is Cassardis and then Valmiro comes and he and my character start making out, what the frick? I'm a male character and never gave anything to him.
ratio'd
Is there something you wish to tell us, anon?
A shitty romance system they implemented because they were rushed.
They planned to have few predefined romance options but ran out of time to make them (and develop ending where you don't have a beloved) so now your "Beloved" is whoever has the highest affection to you. So doing a lot of quests for a character means they will like you more up to a maximum point.
Now, you can have multiple people with max affection. Then the game decides that your beloved is whoever you talked to LAST.
Yea it's convoluted and moronic but it leads to funny scenarios. Also you can romance literally ANY npc you can talk to and give gifts.
Damn that's stupid lol.
>What a large tree.
>'Tis even larger up close.
wait if the dragon had no choice but to grant ashe's wish does that mean we could've sacrificed our beloved and wished for dragon sex from grigs?
Grigs had already decided that "your" wish was to rule Gransys. No idea if it was due to the last wish being fulfilled was exactly that.
Aren't the other two Arisen you meet also given the same wish? Wish recycling much? Typical lazy dragons.
>Aren't the other two Arisen you meet
Who exactly?
Duke Dogma and Cave moron
I don't think it's ever explained what Dusty's wish was. Only that he either fought the dragon, b***hed out and managed to escape or didn't have the balls to fight it at all.
Il Duce was just a coward who sacrificed his crusty cumsock pawn.
The Dragonforged died while fighting the Dragon. He's literally a ghost. Hence why he says "You can see me?" when you meet him. He's part of the cycle. Arisen that die to the Dragon live on as shades to mentor future Arisen.
>The Dragonforged died while fighting the Dragon
Is that ever explained in-game? I could never figure out when he was supposed to live in the timeline, as he seemed to have lived before Savan, yet died along with Grig implying that Grig must have been "his" dragon.
He didn't die. The dragonforged calls himself a revenant, it's more like he was burnt beyond recognition to any non-arisen.
He may not have fully perished by whatever the outcome he was defeated by the Dragon.
He was definitely defeated, yeah, but not dead. Just a 1000 year old talking mummy.
He calls himself a revenant and implies that only other Arisen can see him with his introductory dialogue. I'm relatively sure he died and came back to life as part of the cycle.
And considering that he didn't die when Savan slew his dragon.
You know what throws an even bigger wrench into the story? Selene's Arisen died of old age, therefore she got her heart back. But how?
She could also have been an old wrinkly wench when she was chosen, decided she was too old for that hunt shit, and slipped in the shower ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Then Selene would also be an old wrinkly wench...
Sofiah killed her Dragon then fricked off instead of bothering with all the Everfall shit.
i thought dusty literally says that he just didn't have a beloved
and by the broken spear being used a lot i assumed he then obviously tried to fight and got burnt and fled
He says he was a sigma male who rejected any kind of human interaction. Probably why his pawn is such an autist.
yeah iirc he even talks about how your bond is a weakness if you do the bond quest then talk to him before grigs
but yeah it makes the most sense to me that he didn't take the bargain (couldn't) and failed, because then it leaves the duke who did, and you who didn't and succeeded
also grigs in his fight says
>Heed well this place, Arisen.
You forgot Ashe, Arthacos, Barroch, Savan, and Sofiah.
Arthacos is as much an Arisen as the Duke.
None of the other Arisen in the game besides Ashe, Death, and the Duke took the wish.
Death isn't an arisen.
But he was:
>Death was once an Arisen.
Do you even get anything for this?
I'd do it if you could take all 100 quests at once.
I wish people would stop making up bullshit claims this place is turning into reddit more and more with each passing day
He is literally called The Dragonforged, and his iconic symbol is a man with a broken spear. Put two and two together.
Frick off reddit
Yes and no. Dragonforged's spear most likely broke while fighting the dragon, and he was then badly injured, probably burned, making him "dragonforged". It's not his fists, it's him.
He didn't die, based on what we know he would be a lesser dragon then, but he is in some sort of limbo.
He probably took the "third" option Grigori gives, after failing the fight
>If you sought to live you had naught but run and hide yourself away
His current state is
>The Dragonforged suffered mortal injury in combat with the wyrm, though he persists now between life and death
>A thousand years since it was stolen, and yet it beats... As long as the dragon lives, the hearts in its safekeeping know no death
>He didn't die
>he suffered a mortal injury
Anon do you know what a mortal injury means?
Mortal injury just means near death, do (you) know what it means?
No anon, suffering a mortal injury means you're not dead but you're on the doorstep and not able to turn back.
Him slowly dying of dragon burns instead of just being the thing he literally says he is (a revenant) is the most moronic explanation possible.
All Arisens are mortally wounded you fricking moron.
Being revived by dragon magic after the dragon takes your heart is not the same as dying to the dragon's firebreath you moron.
If you get hit by Grigori's breath and die you're just dead.
Not an argument.
You're literally arguing about a videogame where a dragon pierces your chest and steals your heart then eats it.
I accept your concession.
You're not worth talking to
That he will eventually die from it. Mortal injury is not always instant.
+Arisen
strider chads just can't stop winning
You can do that with the levitate skill with a staff
and it's 10x less annoying than whatever the frick you just did
Don't care. Still playing Ranger.
>putting the portcrystal there
I feel like such a moron for never thinking of this.
It's so close to Cassardis it's a waste of a portcrystal when you can just doublejump/leviate your way up there.
>playing a class that can doublejump/leviate
What are you, women?
I think the sacrifice changes depending on what's most important to the Arisen, which in (you)r case, as well as the Duke and Ashe, is other people. This why the Arisen's Bond manifests itself as a ring for you. Seemingly it didn't have that form for the Dragonforged, so his sacrifice must have been something else. He implies he considers bonds to be a weakness.
I'd love to see a troll physics mod that let you do a self-launch with the shield/2-hander.
If you have a staff and you can levitate up the cliff whenever you want
Main strider
Have strider pawn
Hire 2 other strider pawns
It's that simple
what are good skills for strider pawn
apart from helm splitter
Instant Reset seems to be inoffensive at worst. Hundred Kisses for when they climb.
Fivefold, Fracture Dart and Downpour Volley. If you think your pawn is using too much bow just unequip it.
Well, if you want to go full aughtism and abuse pawn AI, keep it limited to splitter and fracture dart. Those are the two strongest skills strider has. Instant Reset is alright to add, pawns use it somewhat inconsistently to get out of stagger animations.
Brain Splitter and Fracture Dart with a rusted bow.
Don't equip any other skills, equip eminence, and don't equip climbing augments.
>trying to gleam details about what may or may not have happened to character xyz in this unfinished game
Shit gets reset just like what happens when you "win".
>"Only my death will staunch the flood of destruction"
>his death brings nothing but destruction
How about this: all notice board escort quests
BUT!
no ferrystone usage
Sorry, but you're going to board the ferrystone express and you're going to like it.
What is your favourite enemy and why is it the Eliminator?

Yes, yes, I know. Leddit.

Stop doing that shit
>Fighter pawns with any skill but Dragon's Maw
It's like you're asking for your e-girl cumsock to be brined.
dogma balls
lizard's ligma
>there are arisen ITT who haven't drained the ward of regret to get the Griffith/Guts armor
pitiable
Isn't the dragon's deal with the arisen that he must sacrifice his beloved(s)? So he can't get close to anyone like duke edmun or he loses it and chokes them to death ala the incident with aelinore. So the dragonforged just avoids all human interaction, that way he can't get close to anyone
from what i got yeah but then he wasn't actually strong enough to smack grigs so it didn't matter
>secret balcony in fallen city
AAAAAAAAAAAA
can you even get there? If you grab a dragon or leap off a portstone?
Ogre origins? Is this another Arcanum case?
just too horny
how do I kill archhydra as a warrior
You hit it until it dies
itsa me mario
You either spend an hour baiting it to headbutt the ground, or play a vocation worth a damn.
Jumping light attacks when the heads lower and jumping heavy attacks when the heads slam.
>Rush in and grab hold of its neck -- it's risky but might work!
>If we can but cleave off all its heads...
>Focus on the wounded head! Cleave it free!
>Now - sever its head!
try throwing your pawn at it when it opens it's mouth, that's always fun
stop using blunt weapons!
Same way you kill anything as warrior.
thing is I have no idea how to kill bosses with him, I just picked it up post-dragon since I wanted sinew
If I wanted an easy time I would switch to strider
Sinew is from Fighter
can't even get the names straight, yeah I'm asking about the default class
Fighter isn't too bad at climing, just grab one of the heads and R1 it. That or bait it into head slamming you then Dragon's Maw as the head comes down.
Just grab the heads when they attack and cut them off, lol. Takes a while but it's easy
Also get a pawn with Fire Affinity
I'm currently melting them as a warrior so I'm not sure what you're doing wrong. Generally I just wait for them to lower their heads in that dumb snout attack, grab one and start hitting it until it breaks. Then maybe back off in case it starts moving around since getting run over is really the only thing that's a threat, but you can just keep heavy jump attacking at the severed neck until it gets up. Having a Sorcerer buffing your weapon and doing fire damage also goes a long way.
Anyone with gacjed pawns stop shilling and taking hires away from people who need them.
>bbi 3 armor as a gift
>get some ugly wizard crocs
>but +20 weight limit
hrgggg
at 200 it's such a minor gain i went back to wearing the cooler looking everfall gear
nothing comes close to +20 weight as a minimum height goblin, not even fashion
just need sinew and a few bigger goblins
>Height goblin
>Weight limit
But carrying capacity is only limited by your weight. You're not playing as a e-girl/shota, are you?
Your height affects your weight
You can get max carrying capacity even at the lowest height.
moron
are you moronic
ERgays frick off
Only e-girl pawns seem to get hired.
I have a cute and funny pawn and she didn't get hired in 40 hours playing until i post her here and some kind anon took her for adventures.
I brine them
>I brine them
is that a euphemism for glazing your pawn with salty ropes of cum?
no
I hope they let you actually go into the water in 2, I want to fight some kino sea monsters.
>Fighting the brine
>It summons all the pawns it ever fed on particularly the ones you threw in
God i hope Dragon's Dogma 2 is going to be good. I'm afraid that it will be a watered down piece of shit aimed at normalgays like sequels tend to be nowadays.
They said they're inspired by Elden Ring so definitely the latter.
Elden Ring is a good game frick off.
bro i love finding a new area and it's always either the exact same stone dungeon or cave and always with imps/skeletons, and the boss is just an enemy from a later area, that i already fought twice, while they patch in the unfinished npc quests pog poggers
proofs
You gotta believe in Itsuno.
It's probably going to be similar to monster hunter 10 years ago to world/rise
World was a real step up. Rise was a real step down.
I hope Dragon's Dogma 2 takes after World's cinematic integrity. I want to FEEL like I'm playing a Lord of the Rings movie.
The jester hat is the least clownish part of this outfit. Feste was doing you a favor.
Can i kill the fricking midget?
Have you tried?
Of course not, i'm a good citizen.
Into Free is cool but Eternal Return fits the game better
I guess, but there's only so many times I can listen to someone sing in a melancholy tone about a DARK ASS NIGHT before I go insane.
Who here never gets hired? I can give your pawn a ride. Just post it Unless they got chipmunk voice.
There are 2 golems in the place where I meet Selene's pawn but they just lay still, how do I activate them
here take
Only one comes alive during her quest (Witch Hunt). You have to complete Lost and Found for it to become available.
Got him.
One spot open still
>Play the game with japanese voicelines
>Some of the normal voice types you can choose are closer to chipmunk voices in english
Sorry, anon ;_;
They only had 1 VA pitched up or down it seems...
I only hire pawns from the most popular of all time ranking
can't deal with archhydra, neither can my pawns apparently, they keep getting eaten by it (2 of them are fighters)
Just climb/spam fire spells
cant climb for more than 5 seconds before it flings me across half the arena and then dying to fall damage
Spam jump attack/charge attacks
even if I do everything correctly, it takes me like 5 minutes just to get rid of 1 head, maybe I'm undergeared? I'm struggling against the ice saurians on that chamber aswell
That must be the case. Go dragonforge your shit at least if you still haven't done it
I did but I can't wear most of it since I changed vocations after that, can I dragonforge my shit reliably? Ive heard killing a regular dragon in the world only has a chance to dragonforge 1 piece of your gear
Guess I switch back to my previous vocation (mystic archer) for bosses
If you're willing to go BBI you can fight Cursed Dragon in the second chamber.
If not, wait for Ur Dragon Grace to instantly forge all of your shit
dragonforging has a better chance if your gear is upgraded (3* best chance) but yeah the weakest drakes in the world are like 20% for a 3* to dragonforge
killing dragons have a chance to dragonforge your equipment based on what dragon it is, and how upgraded the equipment is
Firedrakes, Frostwyrms, Thunderwyverns, and Cursed Dragons are exclusive to Bitterblack Isle. Cursed Dragons are very good at dragonforging (I once nailed 7 items with one kill), and the most reliable way is by killing the Ur-Dragon during the grace period (which only happens maybe once or twice a week, depends on how active the community is)
I want to brine every single pawn, whose owner haven't slapped their ass in the chair, and told them to shut the frick up.
fukken luv battle brothers

What are some must have augments for assasin?
Arm-strength, Adhesion and Opportunism.
I had forgot the picture wasn't about DD, lul.

I forgot to do "Lost and Found", so now I can't do "From another sky 78" until I restart the game.

Anyone know if the drawgay has finished his work, the last I saw was of this, it wasnt the whole image and if I remember correctly he was still going to color it in as well.
Anybody playing on ps4? Take my goth statusprostitute gf on a date, lvl 109 ranger, moniker poison, equipped with silverforged oil daggers, and a rusted longbow.

How?
holy riposte into 2 magick cannons or go for the feet
Great Cannon against everything
How does GC work (in order for it to be broken)? Are you supposed to block in it for maximum projectiles or hwhat?
many things can activate a Great Cannon. some of the best are Ruinous Sigil, the floating orbs from a holy parry, and a pawn's Fulmination. Full Moon Slash is good too
usually the most efficient way to use the skill is to place two Cannons right next to each other, and use the above methods to shoot a really high number or projectiles. one thing to note is that there is a limit to how many projectiles can be active at any time; meaning that if you're generating too many, they might "die" before reaching an opponent (you can see this in the webm at around 12 seconds, where the Mystic Knight places another cannon and for a moment too many projectiles are created, and the Gorecyclops stops losing health)
the cannon's damage can be further increase by first enchanting your main weapon to something that's strong against the opponent (or using one of the permanently enchanted sword/maces)
>one thing to note is that there is a limit to how many projectiles can be active at any time
shit game
MK would already drop the framerate in the original console releases to single digit, you don't want that vocation left loose
>try to make female character bigger
>head looks too small
>first half of head size slider just makes your neck long
>second half of slider looks too big
wtf
just do what I do and set head size to max then never touch the slider or think about it ever again
GRACE IS ON!
