That anon is right. There is a huge difference between gradually loading in assets as you move vs loading an entirely separate area of the map all at once instantly. Both BotW and ER have loading screens in that situation, DD2 does not. BotW in particular has worse loading screens as it happens twice every time you do a shrine, on top of the game being 15 years old visually.

The 360 and PS3 were already pushing it at the eight and seven years respectively that they spent on the market before the new consoles hit. I think the big issue with both the PS5 and xbox is that there is hardly any upcoming games. In 2024 the only 2 games I can see are FF7 Rebirth and Dragons Dogma 2. Thats for the entire year of 2024. Theres just not a wide variety of games anymore like you used to get in the ps1,ps2 and ps3 generation. Its got even worse than the PS4 gen was now.

Well, the PC version has a GTX 1070 as minimum requirements, and though it is stronger than the GPU of a PS4 it's also about as old.
Yes, the GPU requirements are surprisingly humble, but the CPU, while still humble is a lot newer than the GPU.

New games aren't using the power for anything meaningful. They were able to get a game like SSX 3 where you could ride from the very top of the mountain all the way down to the bottom with no loading times working on a Gamecube with dynamic music, crazy good effects, and, above all, actual fun gameplay. Developers rely way too much on making games as graphically intensive as possible and putting all the money and resources into it that they forget the actual game part.
This. It feels like the power of current gen machines is only being used to make games that are basically the same or worse than PS4 gen games due to modern developers being less competent.

RE4R is basically a tight corridor shooter. DD2 will have way bigger maps, more NPC's and enemies, including enemies as big as a building, way longer draw distance, etc. Idk why these moron threads get so many replies.

Capcom used to be very good at optimisation. MT Framework games ran very well on low tier hardware. Dunno what happened.
RE Engine is also an incredibly well-optimized engine. But there are two MT Framework games that ran like ABSOLUTE SHIT on the PS3 and PS4: Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter World.
DD is fine, the consoles were just garbage as evidenced by everything else. It's MHW that's notoriously poorly made as it brought top rigs to its knees.
