10 minutes in and I'm having a blast. Also how do I stop getting guard broken? The regular goblin attacks break my shield stance.

Buy a better shield and enhance it
The game was so easy for me because my friend's pawn is a max level mage
>this game was so easy because i got carried
??
Cry about it, it's still hard because it takes forever for a mage to cast and they always cast the wrong spell
>this game was so easy
>it's still hard
based schizo
true, just no shit summoning a level 200 to help you makes the game easy when you can beat hard daimon at 100 solo
>game is still hard
>game was so easy
So which one was it you homosexual
It's not like the game isn't easy to break by the 30 minute mark if you know what you're doing
>the game was so easy because I didnt du nuffin
Black person
>because my friend's pawn is a max level mage
Don't you still need to hire them for a bajillion RC?
If friends, hiring is free
That sucks, completely shreds the balance of the game for no reason
Nah, I get it. Lets you play with your friends pawns without gating you out.
Plus, as someone who just picked it up for the 7th time to do BBI basically, getting a 123 Sorc to just run through the NG with me made it much quicker. Now I'm at the content I want to do, without having the slog of the main game.
>not starting BBI by picking up zombies and hucking them down ledges before they fully get up
weak. pathetic, even.
First room is hellhounds, hobbies and a cyclops. Zombles aren't even until after Gazer in BBI.
>he didn't get the zombie-luring brazier from the elf village
lmao. i bet you haven't even gone past the shadowfort
First room is those poison plague dogs, but that's besides the point
You go right and down the ladder, then book it past the hobs. Death spawns there scripted so you have to run through anyway. No way to actually really die there, although pawns might get stuck and get downed. Sucks to be them.
After that, you're in the room where you meet Barroch the first time, so no enemies there. You go down, right towards the first void key. There you can huck two zombies down a ledge after avoiding two that are already up, but any fire spell will stagger those to huck down the ledge as well.
Optionally, you can get into the room with the skeleton key. If you're fast enough, you can grab the knight skeleton (dread lord?) from behind and huck down the ledge too. The wizards are.. wizards.
From there, the next big encounter is the swarm of skeletons you can beat all of them with just the explosive barrels that are ambient there.
Then at the room with the imprisoned gorecyclops, you just chuck the wizards down the ledges. At that point you're around level 10, if you went there first thing.
The only real dangers are pawns dying and the gargoyle in the last room.
Oh true, I forgot the Void key Room. Still. That sounds more of a grind than just going through the main game and getting some okay gear.
To me, it's super fun to cleverly beat far too hard enemies without having any right to make it. Chucking enemies down ledges and explosive barrels beats throwing 30 throwblast into the Gazer, at least.
I understand why and don't think it's really that bad, but I think the game is most fun cycling pawns every few hours.
why would you intentionally break the balance to such a degree
>ruining your own expierence with the game
He was probably told to do so by his ""friend"" just so he could get some free RC out of it.
My buddies who had played before all tried to get me to use their pawns and that it "didnt matter" if they were high level anyway just to try adn get me to farm them some RC.
>level 200 pawn
>tell my friend doing a playthrough to not use the pawn and to rotate random ones unless bitterblack starts getting bad
Are there any other somewhat early escorts that give pretty good (pre-bitterblack) weaponry? Also got the Keen Dragon's Wit.
mercedes' one gives a nice shield, i think the other good ones are just gold weapons
Knew about the shield. For some reason they let you get two soultakers from different guards as far as golden weapons go.
Thanks. Actually wanted a sword so that works out.
Caxton's unlocks when you get to Gran Soren and it gives you a Bastard Sword, which is better than anything else you can get until way later in the game
You can cheese them with port crystals anyway so you might as well do all of them just for the collection
This line of thinking might be why I end up playing games for so long, come to think of it. Plus I love games like new vegas where both the story is good and it lets me indulge my weapon and armour hoarding tendencies.
this is not directed at (you) specifically, but I keep seeing people b***hing about escort missions online.
Why do people do the escort missions
don't these guys realize they're essentially dating sim-esque dating missions?
They only exist to increase affinity with an NPC. You're only meant to do them if you want to frick someone.
The escort missions are my favorite part of the game. Its the ONLY time you ever get to do anything with this interesting and dynamic map that isn't "sprint from A to B while munching on mushrooms. Slaughter any chimeras you see along the way if you're feeling adventurous". I don't see why anons dislike them.
NPCs will run straight at whichever monsters are attacking you sometimes. It's literally sprint from A to B but now interact with the things around you even LESS unless you want to fail the quest.
I picked up mercedes and carried her around whenever we got to dangerous stuff I as worried about her getting killed by.
Escort missions are require to unlock specific things in shops, as well as to move npcs to unlock other (admittedly, usually more escorts) quests.
plus there's only 3 types of non-story side quests, being kill/collect/escort. you also get affinity on the road during escorts.
Yeah I don’t get it either. You can heal the NPCs, carry them around, even revive them with wake stones or just teleport them where they want to go. They are the easiest shit. Like I know wake stones are rare early game but even so, they are all pretty much fine so long as you avoid the big boys on the map.
some of them give unique items
It's because people get caught up in the idea where they want to do everything in front of them. Personally I just portcrystaled them and before then I did Adaro's and carried him all the way to the shadow fort first playthrough (which is funny in hindsight because despite him being a decent character he has one of the worst escort quest rewards). I still like them even if I skip most, and I also like the idea they can have decent rewards besides. If they up the rewards for non-important characters in 2 I could see it working as pretty funny bait to get people to try to do them which could end up with more people complaining.
Based Aughtist.
Berne and Mercedes are the only ones that give decent gear, the other ones that give gold shit are the salomet tome guy and the both father and son from the wakestone quest, and all three don't let you escort them until the greatwall opens up
The head (?) nun of the monastery, Clarus or something, gives a good archistaff.
he said he got it already
Don't stay in the stance, time your blocks with the blows. If you do it just right you'll frick enemies up.
wait this game has a block/parry window? Also is there a hotkey to put on and put away lanterns?
>parry
You need to get the core skill to perfect block on fighter and mystic knight to do that depending on which vocation you want to do it on.
>wait this game has a block/parry window?
Yes but you need to unlock it first. It's a rank 3 core fighter ability. Mystic Knight has its own equivalent as well.
>wait this game has a block/parry window?
Yes.
>Also is there a hotkey to put on and put away lanterns?
You can set hotkeys in the inventory.
>You can set hotkeys in the inventory.
Only on PS4 I believe
You can hotkey using the number keys on PC too, and if you're using a controller you can use steam configuration to tie controller combinations to the number keys. For example I have R1+DPAD set to 1-4 number keys.
>you can use steam configuration to tie controller combinations to the number keys. For example I have R1+DPAD set to 1-4 number keys.
What a great idea
can dd2 ever really compare to elden ring? honestly from is the only dev doing these styles of games worth a single frick these days
in terms of sales, no
everything else we won't know until it's out
elden sucks though
It won't sell as well if that's what you mean. Whether or not it'll be better we'll have to wait and see, it might be.
ER is complete shit so yeah DD2 will easily be better
ER stat system is boring and combat is simple. The exploration is rather linear after the midgame. This is from a diehard Fromsoft fan.
DD has a lot more going on and you can plan shit both for yourself and your pawn. Good rpg shit. If Fromsoft wants to capitalize on rpg games then they could take notes from DD's class system.
Dragon's dogma does not have a good stat system
I like DD1 more than Elden Ring.
>can dd2 ever really compare to elden ring?
Since er is so shit its fans need to beg for good reviews, yeah.
no, theyre different kind of games.
but ill be happy to play something different because even as a dark souls lover having roll combat for the 6th time in a row but this time with shitty weapons, bosses and world is too much
From is making the same game but worse for the last 10 years. They almost did something interesting and different with Sekiro, but it never got the promised DLC/expansion, so it stays this one game that could be something more.
ER is flanderized Dark Souls. Sure it has some amazing moments (they are only one time elements of surprise though) but the worst parts are the worst the series have ever seen, not even Dark Souls 2 was this bad in some parts.
DD2 probably won't sell as well as ER (though anything can happen, MHW was an insanely successful game to everyone's surprise), but if Itsuno will keep his vision and team, it will definitely play way better.
I also liked elden ring! Simultaneously, frick you!
Elden ring is a decent game but the combat in these sorts of games isnt as good as gamelets think. DD1 already has better combat. ER thrives on its great exploration and multiplayer.
they're totally different games
Souls is based on hard lock combat, status buildup, rolls, and highly curated balance (well, not in Elden Ring, but normally)
DD is based on the climbing mechanic, a lot more action game gimmicks (e.g. like special knockdowns for perfect blocks against certain enemy attacks), softlock combat, sprinting, per-vocation defense mechanics, silly overpowered spells, and a lot more RPG shit like traditonal status effects and elemental weaknesses
nioh 2 alone btfos from games
I like them all but I want DD2 to be DD2 not ER lite or open world Nioh.
The base Rusted shield gets guard broken by literally everything. Even the basic store-bought shield from Aestella's is significantly tougher. Oh yeah, watch your stamina meter, because you'll also get guard broken if you run out of stamina while blocking even if your shield is strong enough.
There's no shield stability stat or anything, you just kind of have to keep buying better ones.
Later on in the game, post-game, they need dragonforging to at some point get the "enhanced blocking ability" stat in the upgrade menu.
Essentially, if you get guard broken, get a better shield.
>There's no shield stability stat
There actually is, but it's hidden. For the most part it just boils down to "if enemy breaks your guard, get a better shield or upgrade it". There's also an augment, I think it's from Mystic Knight, which improves your stability, and might be worth considering if your shield sucks.
Yes, you can perfect block almost every single attack (including spells) in the game and it not only protects but also deals damage and staggers your opponent. There's also the Mystic Knight, which can put elemental buffs on his shield that cast spells when he parries. Look out for the augments that increase the parry window, too.
>There actually is, but it's hidden
So there is no shield stability stat
>So there is no shield stability stat
There actually is, but it's hidden.
I'm still surprised that there's still no rough listing of shield durability after all this time. At the very least, what can take a good Eliminator swing.

Im tempted to add you just so I can actually use pawns from Ganker. my problem is that Im too low level to summon 90% of the pawns here
Finally got the assless chaps, time to store them since they're pretty ugly and the spike boots are better and easy to gold rarify
She's level 115 now, also does anybody have a bloodred crystal they're willing to gift away
> Head into BBI.
> Get Strigoi'd.
> Let it feed and get fat.
> Kill it when it flies off.
It will now drop a bloodred crystal.
Get to Fortress of Remembrance post-Daimon, it's the area after the Gazer fight, meaning you can get there directly from the first BBI shortcut.
If Strigoi don't immediately spawn, go in and out the door until they do, then
And this will also unlock a bestiary star for Strigoi.

It's okay. Already found her
Love you bro. I have to tweak her vocations a little and really needed the RC. Thanks 🙂

Not meaning to be a dick here, but level 200, how do you get that far? As in, how do you play for the bajillion hours it takes to get there and still have fun? I'm at level ~70 currently stuck at the BBI cursed dragon boss and I already feel like I've seen almost everything I need to
>bajillion hours
On BBI it doesn't take much to level up even just by playing normally
Well as I said, I'm not even halfway to the cap but I'm more than halfway through BBI - I think, not sure
Got it fellow Arisen, recruit my dear girl Alice! Platform is Steam btw. She’s super helpful and very active on casting spells!
You are lying. It's impossible to have 4 pawns only in 10 minutes from starting up the game. Why do you lie OP?
Really digging this pawn i found in the rift. Looks like a rule 63 William Wallace
better shield, upgraded shield. I think there's also an augment that enhances your block ability
Is the server down for anybody else
This shit keeps happening since DD2 announcement.
capcom most likely hasnt done server maintenance in years so expect random times where the online just breaks and comes up.
Sometimes it fricks up and I have to restart the game.
When the ur-dragon enters grace period, how do you beat it? Is there anything I should do to prepare? I've never fought it before.
You kinda just take out one of the hearts and it dies instantly.
It's at 3.4 now according to last report, so get ready to find out soon.
Bring some periapts and pop his zits
When it's in grace you need to just smack it once
It's mostly about doing a ridiculous amount of damage at range. Do something that focuses on that.
Try beating the offline one first, the online one has like 50 billion times more health and there's a time limit. BBI 3 weapons, periapts.
What the frick is the appeal of this game? Theres like 6 shitty dungeons and two worse than skyrim tier towns. Most of the enemies are goblins wolves or bandits. I picked it up on sale last week and was thorougy underwhelmed. BBI is the only decent bit of content and even then its short and has many copied rooms. The armor system is fricking dumb. Elden Ring absolutely obliterates it in scale and quality.
Here's your (You) kid
Frick off elden troony from discord.
Enjoy your assets from an ancient ps3 jrpg lol, things that gets recycled are usually trash.
>things that gets recycled are usually trash.
Bitterblack isle is trash? Ok
>Bitterblack isle is trash?
Unironically, yes.
The story, the new enemy variety, the necrophages etc. are nice, but the level layout and geometry is shit.
I don't blame the devs, since it was rushed like the base game, but I'm really hoping we can get something similar with more variety in 2.
>since it was rushed like the base game
was it?
It’s like Chronicles of Mystara in 3d. Or any classic fantasy beat ‘em up.
Ur is at 1.2 on Steam, Grace soon, Arisen. Get in and do your part!
i've been fingering him
and damn i'm going to have to start selling bbi armor to afford more soon
I'd join you but I locked Fournival away on NG+ for the giggles and now I need to do ++ to get him back.
definitely need to make him my beloved next ng since waiting for him to leave the front of the castle sucks but i also wanted judith
also i'm just contributing to pay back for the last ur kill i looted but did nothing for
You can always just avoid going to talk to the Duke so the Noble Quarters remain available.
Going to pump him full of blast arrows now.

Where the FRICK is fournival
At his house, the Black Cat or your house if he is beloved.
Feel free to add on steam for free hires. I will also get your pawn and gear in out in fashionable stuff
How do I have fun as a fighter?
I've played every other vocation (except mage) but fighter is just so fricking bland
Don't play it then?
What's so bland about it? They have a variety of good skills and can parry.
Two Bloody Knuckle rings, no sword, perfect block.
Perfect blocks and iframes my dude
Fighter is both fun and strong, but you need to spend some time with the vocation and unlock the right skills to really see its shine -- it'll click eventually, I promise. No other class will let you trade blows with God and come out on top, and I'd argue no other game does sword&board as masterfully as DD does. Counters, i-frames, parries - it's got them all. A tip: get good at perfect blocking and even Condemned Gorecyclopes will get their asses knocked down once you parry their swings a couple of times.
Here are some skills I strongly recommend for you to get a feel on how a fighter should be played:
>sword
Hindsight Strike (the BBI upgrade for Hindsight Sweep. Sweep is wack but Strike is brilliant)
Dragon's Maw (use Full Moon Slash in its place until you unlock it)
[free space, use whatever you wish]
>shield
Cymbal Onslaught (for skellies and monsters weak to blunt damage)
Sheltered Fusillade (the BBI upgrade for Sheltered Assault)
Divine Defense (for whatever the frick you can't block or i-frame)
>augments
Clout
Vehemence
Proficiency
Impact
Prescience if you're really struggling with perfect blocking, otherwise Sinew or Ferocity
[free space]
You can, but there's no visual indication of the horns being broken and the pawns don't comment on it either. You'll know you did something to them once you hit them for a bit and the cursed dragon does that head shaking animation all other dragons do once you break their horns.
Their wings can be broken normally. They look a little different when damaged and pawns will say something like "Now! 'Tis grounded!" when you break them (but only sometimes).
Horns and wings can be broken even after the dragon has died, but has yet to decompose.

slash or blunt damage?
Is it okay if I change to Mystic Knight now? Or do I miss out if I don't level fighter more?
Stats don’t really matter all that much in the long run it’s all about gear. Play whatever you want.
You can switch between vocations you've unlocked at any time.
Augments, you can get them whenever, they don't matter in the base game
>augments
>don't matter in the base game
Playing as a e-girl or shota without sinew is aids.
Sinew even without playing one still feels like the best augment in the game. I can't think of anything that can give you more immediate strength than carrying more shit.
adhesion is great
makes doing daimon as fighter/warrior easy
Fighter does get a damage increasing augment at rank 8. But you can switch back and forth whenever so you can just get it later if you do want it at some point.
min max kills the game... go with the wind anon and play with it
As people have said, constantly stressing about optimization can burn you out quick. It certainly ruined a run for me. Just play what you want and pick up augments that you think you want here and there as you play. Long as you're geared up you'll be fine.

You're not. You're only hitting damage cap if you don't get the accessing server message.

Holy shit, are these the ones people wanted?
Yes.

you have a pawn that can equip them?
No, my pawn is a sorc unfortunately.

I can gift you one, if you have a warrior pawn

The plugin bypass that shit if you go bonkers with the xdamage option
I'm a mage (stop laughing!), should I make my main pawn a fighter or strider? Don't care about optimal stat building, just wanna play.
I'd say a fighter is a safer pick. Experiment and see what sticks best for you
Sword & Shield keeping the squishy mage safe is a classic, but being able to enchant myself and archer with any element seems cool.
I'm glad this game is pretty lenient about that stuff.
Completely up to personal preference, try one and then switch them later if you want.
You should take a fighter from other arisens. That's pretty much what this entire system is about. Your pawn is supposed to be similar to yourself, not the complete opposite.
But I don't get to mess with borrowed pawns stats, do I? Double Mage seems neat since I can pretend I'm teaching her magic, but seeing my Mage & Knight/Archer traveling together seems cooler.
mage isn't worth one, never mind two. You're better doubling on Sorcs, or even tripling because of Spell Sync
I'll be a Sorcerer later of course, just starting off as a mage since I can use healing on that bull you escort and enchant my weapon to match an enemy's weakness. Lightning enchant hitting everything was a good time, last I played.
Just run ahead of the convoy and kill everything, then walk along with it. That quest is easy
Aw man, I just assumed the enemies spawn when it shows up. Didn't even think of just running ahead.
The only time extra shit spawns in that quest is after you pull the gate lever. Otherwise, you can clear the canyon out ahead of the cart. Also knock the stones down too.
>but seeing my Mage & Knight/Archer traveling together
Yeah, by picking up other arisens pawns.
But it ain't as personal.
Well, this opens up my choices. Maybe I'll go Archer to Mystic Archer while my Pawn is a Warrior.
Magick Archer is one of the funnest classes in the game.
I went that route a long time ago, and remember having fun. Plus, I'll get to have my magic.
GO GO GO!
And it's over
Those vendors in the Everfall are expensive as frick. What do I do to farm more money?
Sell high level equipment.
hard mode + golden talisman/pilgrim's charm
You could steal from condemned gorecyclopses on BBI. Easy millions in materials.
Play on hardmode
Make sure you install mods to add color.
https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/190
https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/68
You can also use Nvidia's Reshade knockoff to add color, sharpness, brightness/contrast, darker blacks, brighter lights, filters, shaders, etc without installing an extra thing if you have an nvidia gpu and Reshade causes you crashing for some reason. The sharpen+ filter has a fancier sharpening option the has a couple more settings to tune for nicer looking textures especially if you have higher res textures.
ENB is option too but only offers a couple of things extra and the presets are really hit-or-miss. I always have to edit them a good bit whenever I use them.
Frick the *r Dragon
Look at that snout!
I'm almost tempted to reinstall this game. Made a pretty female dunmer pawn which I hope has been put to good use. I'd post picture of her but I'm literally on a boat at the moment.
hope your boat sinks
A part of me wishes it would so let's see how it goes.
I'm thinking about starting a new MK playthrough but without using Great Cannon this time, that shit is OP as frick. Would it work in BBI?
Great Cannon is somewhat overrated. His self-buffs and other skills like stone forest are really strong, you really don't need it.
Sure. The shield magic like counters, ripostes, enchants, healing and perfect parrying are strong too. You can always swap a wand in and out too for even more offensive magic alongside the sword/mace abilities.
Do nighttime augments work in BBI? I just maxed out Assassin at level 30ish and plan on hitting BBI early solo for some easy XP
Yes but resting in BBI doesn't really advance time, you should make sure it's night by resting in Gransys.
Heyy I finally got in at the right time
Damn it, Death escaped with 2 bars and now I haven’t had any luck getting him to show up at all his favorite haunts.
The Garden of Ignominy post-Daimon is the best spot by far. Get the Saurian version to spawn, clear it out. Save and then Godsbane. Put down your rancid bait meat and he will spawn. Ranger with tenfold arrow, conqueror periapts and blast arrows hurts him. Stack barbed nails to keep knocking him down.
Been trying that, 8 respawns now with the damn goblins.
Yeah you have to be patient. Good news is that the Saurian room doesn't respawn and you only have to rest at BBI to spawn Death again.

Why? Dunmer are an evil race.
I hate them
So you did a good job
never seen them dark elves look so good in DD, good job
The male is excellent.
N'wah
I picked it back up after the announcement of DD2 because I never ended up finishing it.
Only like 10 hours in and I already lost most of my motivation due to the fact that I ended up failing about a dozen side quests already because I did not know they'd fail if I progressed with the main story. I was nowhere near good enough to do the quest where you had to save your childhood friend. Was I just supposed to mindlessly grind for a couple of hours or something? Those bandits on the way to her just clubbered me every single time until I gave up and decided to go back to it later.
Just run past them anon, you're not forced to fight
I have absolutely zero regrets looking things up on my first run.
Actually I do have one regret. Not looking up what I was meant to do for Symone's daycare quest.
Or come back at night, these bandits are replaced with a million wolves at night.
Although, they are completely doable. Just get good
I don't understand how you can be put off that hard from missing something. why are zoomers so fragile? I missed all that as a teenager too and it just made me want to do another playthrough at the end.
I am 33 and finished much harder games than this. It's just that it's pretty fricking annoying because the game gives you zero hints that that would happen.
then why are you crying? "oh no quests failed and I've lost the will, woe is me." come the frick on man. if it makes you feel better rare is the man who doesn't get filtered by them.
I am not crying, I am just wondering if the game is good enough to give it another go.
absolutely. there isn't a person who enjoys action, adventure, or RPG games that walks away from a complete DD run thinking it's worthless.
Maybe that quest IS them telling you shit can happen. If you look at the achievements there is one for beating the game twice so if you are going for 100% you’ll know its going to take more than one run up front anyway.
I wish I brought stuff to forge
>The regular goblin attacks break my shield stance.
STOOPID HYOOMIN!
Sorry bros, I couldn’t make it to Ur Dragon this time. I’m currently away
thats okay. I'm too much of a scrub to have ever defeated the ur dragon.
How should I decide which equipment to use and upgrade? Do I keep using the weapon with the bigger numbers?
> Do I keep using the weapon with the bigger numbers?
For weapons, yes. A few weapons have debilitations like the Rusted line once fully upgraded, but most of the time bigger number is better. Armor is also bigger numbers is better in theory but in practice is mostly fashion due to the lack of enemy scaling and some quirks in the Defense calculation. Still, you might want to pay a little attention to the debilitation and elemental resistances in the late game/BBI even if you're going Fashion Dogma.
Cool, I'll do some fashion then
Do enemies get stronger each ng? I'm in ng+ but like an idiot I skipped some quests, can I go quickly to ng++ or enemies become stronger? I haven't done the dlc yet and I don't want it to be too hard
I don't think they scale. I feel perfectly fine on NG+ on post-Daimon BBI
yes
Accursed brat, needs Rift Crystals!!
Teen Symone or Milf Symone for DD2?
> Empty Ur chamber.
Damnit, I missed grace again. I really need to equip my new pawn with that holy staff during her mid levels. This game sometimes, I swear.
>connection failure
The frick?
How do i stop whacking it to my pawn every 5 mins?
Turn off the system.
Let your nuts build up stock again.
>quest: Slay two Prisoner Gorecyclops held at Bitterblack Isle
>Death shows up, kills them both
>quest complete
the funny thing is that Death is the one who gives this quest to begin with
He just wanted to show off in front of someone.
my pawn for most of the game was a mage healer, sorcerrer
i changed class to ranger, strider and it wont attack enemies, just stay behind me
why it wont attach / attach to enemy weak points?
1. You don't really want to switch from magical vocations to physical or vice versa because of stats
2. It's probably mostly because of its inclinations https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Pawn_Inclination , then maybe lack of bestiary knowledge, or equipped skills the AI doesn't like
What level should I be for BBI? It's just struggle after struggle.
after you frick around in the everfall a bit so 50-60 is fine. it will be a ball buster until you get BBI2 weapons.
BBI is literally post game. I feel like 60-70 is a minimum for you if its your first time diving into that content.
post Everfall really for BBI 1
Maybe do NG+ if you're really struggling and dont just want to grind Everfall though.
Should be fine with weapons you get from Greg.
A lot of areas you just run through.
Upgrade, dragonforge, rarefy your weapons.
Get pawns with 1000+ attack.
And what the others said.
Get lvl 2 gear as fast as possible.
lvl 60-70 is pretty good, with ~80-85 by the end of the first run.
Running NG+ once is not a bad idea, you get lots of cash at least.
wait until your pawn brings back bbi 2/3 weapons
Go in immediately when it opens up to you. Use the scattered around explosive barrels to kill enemies and collect items. You don’t have to worry about maneaters except for one chest in ward of regret.
Aim for killing the first boss around level 40.
Post NG+ so that you have dragonforged Grigori weapons.
You should go to bbi asap and start grinding the guaranteed bbi novelty 3 in midnight helix, the only things that will be over your head is Mr. Bones in the ward of regret and the gargoyle in helix.
Oh my god, Jap DD doesn't have "dragonforging", it has "weapon mutation".
How soulless.
pour one out for the arisen in yellow
Did you know their skills go "skill, skill 2, skill EX"?
How savage.
>Did you know their skills go "skill, skill 2, skill EX"?
idk that one is kinda rad. depends on what goes to ex tho I guess.
I'm really nervous about DD2's localization.
>10 minutes in and I'm having a blast
You're either lying or you're an actual fricking moron with no standards for how a game should play for the first 10 hours
t. filtered
i dont think he literally meant 10 minutes otherwise he would still be on the tutorial
Shit fricking taste. If you didn't enjoy anything except BBI you didn't like the game.
.
When are we realistically expecting 2 to release? Summer 2024?
2 years minimum assuming it was in development a bit after dmc v
this is your pawn and arisen for today
Give the left one swirly eyes.
I seriously worry about the amount of children in this game. A lot of you people need help/a bullet
>that health
>that armor
>that weapon
no one likes guide homosexualry and you don't have the looks to get past it in your meta clown suit. gg no re.
Not everyone has to follow a guide you projecting little b***h.
you don't have the health of a purely leveled warrior and the immortal armor + stamham is basic b***h mode. sorry chief, thems the breaks.
You're a triggered pedophile and when this site gets fully doxxed you will be lynched.
I'll be waiting with bated breath
>doesn't even deny it
So long nonce.
Who cares about pawn health when reviving them is free
>level up all the classes because it's obvious they give you new abilities and stat-ups
>get accused of using a guide for playing the game well
Chosen one!!
I was thinking more along the lines of this
Shadow/Steel gauntlets look a lot like this
Also sabatons (forgot its full name)
I think there was also a chainmail skirt that could fit that setup
It was my inspiration not exactly what I was going for thank you though pal
Something like this?
Impressive, very nice. I went for a red skin colour to look a bit more possessed. Shame you can't transmog armour in this game.
How about this one?
sovereign cape
>sovereign cape
You'll lose the shoulder pads though
does it not just clip slightly? nta btw, just thinkin.
Same armor, but with a cape that covers the shoulders
hm probably would then. I just expected it to clip like the rest of the gear but thinking on it most pics do have the shoulders covered well.
How do you have 3 pawns?
o_O
Hire them
What were they thinking with that area?
it's not bad if you don't rush. I dislike how BBI wants you to play like a pussy though.
>Sixfold Bolt
Sorry, what were they? The dragon is the real problem, the fricker was not made for that area.
>go down stairs
>go right
>sit in square until dragons fly to you
>pound them into the dirt
ezpz. the double drakes are even weaker than normal.
>go to the cliff
>watch them go full lemming
can i make my pawn attack the non-hostile small critters in the bbi safe areas?
trying to find stuff that gives less xp than gran soren guards since she gains 70 levels just getting rank 9 as warrior on them
>since she gains 70 levels just getting rank 9 as warrior on them
bro your ring of perseverance? your asura armor?
using 1 ring and asura she goes from 80-150 going 1-9 as warrior.. i could start my next ng now for the other ring and hope she only hits 140?
i really just don't want my pawn to be too high until they've been hired more but my arisen is already 200
something about that ain't right but honestly going into ng+ would be better than critter grinding.
yeah another ng probably best, needed to get fournival/montebank as beloved anyways
yeah i just didn't expect them to get multiple levels from each individual guard.. just trying to keep my pawn as low as possible but still get clout
If your arisen is high level then your pawn is going to gain levels quickly to match up to yours, even if you grind critters
Best thing to do is let it happen and then go back and use the pawn manager mod and the arisen stat planner to reduce their levels and give them proper stats for that level.
Obviously if you're on console you're SOL (unless they have tools I'm not aware of) and the only way you're going to be able to keep your pawn low level is to start over and never use them until you're ready to gradually but quickly level them up with critter exp
If you're leveling lots from guards, it probably means that your pawn is much lower than your level. In which case it won't matter if you fight critters because the game secretly gives tons of XP on top of the listed values to catch your pawn up.
How, I did this shit on PS3 back in the day and my pawn barely gained any levels, maybe 2-3 at most for all the time I've spent grinding up DP for my main character.
arisen is 200, pawn is 80, so big catchup xp
Why don't you just let her level up as the class you want then grind discipline
i'd wanted my pawn to stay at a lower level so they're not stupid expensive to hire for other lower level people
does the sorcerer class learn healing spells or do I have to keep my pawn a mage for that?
Sorcs do not have any healing spells
Just stock up on curatives
Left or right, lads?
left looks thicker
left. wish there was more stuff that matched those mercenary pants tho.
Left because the focus is shifted near the center on the image on the right instead of her upper chest/head as it should be.
Honestly if you wear the plated coat and a white cape, you should just go whole hog and do your best to make a budget Mercedes clone with metal gauntlets and boots.
i actually prefer right
idk the gloves/boots on the left just stick too much for me
stick out* frick
Did you know that bbi2 magic shield has the same turbo agro passive as the stamina hammer
I'm really interested to see what they do with vocations in 2. 9 is a good number.
I'm getting tired of doing nothing but charging Arc of Deliverance in fights
That is the life you chose
so mix it up? no one forces you to do the same move over and over.
>came back with equipped pantsu
t-thanks
>Get drenched
>Make-up now gone
Huh this game is something
Hows do you guys reckon DD2 will compare DDO? Frick me the combat in DDO was fun as frick, specifically seeker. I hope we get some sort of multiplayer as well because DDO was some of the most fun ive had with friends
how to change guardian to migrator?
i changed my pawn from mage to sorcerrer and want her to attack more often / dont be a pussy
Head to the Encampment, talk to Johnathan inside the tent, and buy some inclination potions.
thanks!
In the tent you get your main pawn, buy inclination potions.
Use 2, maybe 3 to change something into your primary inclination. I would recommend buying 2 challenger or scather potions, drink those first, then 2 or 3 mitigator potions, that should make her aggressive.
Over time the inclinations will shift, so you may have to buy more.
Challenger/mitigator is p.gud. They'll turn Scather slowly anyway.
elixirs A=11 B=10 C=4
AAAAACBCBCBCBBABABABABABA
>still haven't gotten a BBI level 2 or 3 shield
Purification is the dumbest motherfrick. Maximize your chances to have a... 1/10 chance
Are reds better as scathers or mitigators?
I find mitigator to be a misleading name tbh. it makes them clear trash so no that's better for ranged.
>Plays literally 10 minutes, alt tabs out to tell people he played 10 mins and its great, in 10 mins, when you havent' done anything yet, simply because its popular and he wants to fit in on a fricking anonymous image board
Legitimately pathetic.
Game got plenty of flack when DD2 was initially announced and I personally always thought the game had a great first impression so I don’t see a problem with it.
Shame most of the armors in this game look like shit. Hopefully DD2 will have more vibrant designs because DD1 suffered from the shitty "brown gray palette" trend of the time.
the base game had decent variety for blues and reds. surcoats are fire. BBI is bland edgemode gear tho.
I'm level 55, can't even scratch this guy.
There! The point of light upon its chest!
The ultimate gear check of the game. Funnily enough aslo the gatekeeper of dragonforging everyhting thus obtaining better gear. They aren' that hard but until you kill your first one and luckily dragonforge your bbi weapon they take no real damage.
I mean, you can just climb on his chest and whittle away at his hp forever, like all dragons.
So what, I'm supposed to just farm the previous areas until I get good BBI gear? I'm still using gear from the base game.
upgraded grig weapons will kill them.
If you haven't gotten a weapon from Grigori you have to farm for a bbi level 1 weapon. And even then you probably need to stack all your offensive damage augments. Kill one and hope the lvl1 weapon dragonforges and you're set for a bit. If you can kill Undead dragons you can then buy lvl2 weapon from Baroch after reaching the 3rd area. Alteratevely you can cheese the 1st encounter with Shattered earth tomes (lots of them), throwblasts or for bow classes the OP one use arrow Fournival sells you (Gotta do it without the dragon noticing you to get that 2x damage multiplies).
farm ur-dragon on offline mode, get holy equipment, experience and dragonforging
i killed him like 15 times
you can kill it fine with grigori rewards, stop being a moron
Protip: if you climb onto his heart, his left side, he can't hurt you

>amazing stats
>ugly
>fits with nothing
Why
to fill up that 5 head you've got
Good for greenskins
I envy my own pawn's look because I haven't had the chance to settle on something for myself because I'm leveling vocations.
What move is it that dragons do that just kills all the pawns?
The roar
The roar. It happens when you break a body part. Cursed Dragon roars possess pawns instead.
>It happens when you break a body part
That doesn't correspond to any of my billion dragon kills. It's just a move.
no you just didn't notice. I don't know what makes the cursed dragon roar since I've never noticed breakage.
he'll just do it when he gets up to. I've seen him do it a couple times after stunlocking one for a minute and breaking his shit in.
I just haven't noticed that they do that, even twice in a row sometimes, without anyone attacking the dragon?
probably popped one piece to make it fall bro
Or maybe MAYBE it has nothing to do with that and it's just a move they do.
whatever dude. I'll be over here anticipating them while you run around like a chicken with your head cutoff then.
Can you even break the horns and wings of a cursed dragon? I've tried wacking their heads a billion times and nothing happened.
that's where I'm at so I can't pin down their damn roar. just gotta wait til he reels and hopes it's the mouth fart instead.
Don't think so
Cursed Dragons can still have their horns broken, it's just not visible and the hitboxes to do so are wonky compared to the RBY dragons. I do it all the time after killing one to get some extra loot. Not sure if that's what causes Cursed Dragon roars either or if it's something else, since I never go out of my way to break dragon parts mid-battle.
I don't think their wings can be broken, or if it can, it takes a ton of damage to do so. I've tried so hard after killing one.
yeah it's either for the drakes since it's visible.
>either
easier*
I have never seen something drop from attacking a cursed dragons head but it would be super helpful to be able to collect Cursed dragon horns without killing one. Then you skip forward and do Accursed Errand and have yourself a really nice end game weapon.
This is how I do it as a sword and board. The horns seem to have lower priority, because often my attacks are registered as general head hits, whereas with normal dragons any random hit to the side of the head will usually count as a horn hit. You need a lot of hits even with the best sword. Periapts seem to help. That's about all I know.
Horn breaks trigger it consistently, assuming you break one when the dragon isn't downed.
Starting to think Scather isn't a good inclination
It's very climb happy, even more than the pawns already are. And I mean, the pawns will eventually attack the big boss dude, no matter the inclination.
That's why Challenger and Mitigator are generally better, mop up the arena first. Makes your casters less likely to get interrupted constantly when you kill the dogs biting them.
The fact that pawns are so eager to climb yet there are so few active skills that work while climbing is especially fricked.
Speaking of, I'll fricking die on the hill that Dire Gouge and Fate Skewer should've been the same skill. Both Fighter and Assassin would've greatly benefited from this.
I believe in Kinoshita that he'll import the better parts of DDO's vocation design into DD2. Black Flash Fang was indeed the correct answer to this conundrum of grounded vs mounted combat skills.
You gays convinced me. This better be fun. I hear you can be a magical archer?
Yes. You fire arrow-shaped heat seeking spells through your magical bow, and light yourself on fire to climb and stab big homies.
It's kinda fun.
>light yourself on fire to climb
You forgot to mention screaming like an autist whilst you do it.
ye. its a good game.
Just take your time, anon.
The fun ramps up as you unlock more and more skills and equipment. Fighting the same enemies over and over can get a bit boring once you become more powerful but later on enemies ramp up in difficulty and make it fun again.
You can, but don't be afraid to change your class at any time. The differences in stats from leveling are negligible, you can still become a good warrior after 40 hours of being a sorcerer, for example.
So if you get bored of your chosen vocation, just go ahead and change it.
>Do fine in BBI, beat the Bishop.
>Suddenly all enemies take zero fricking damage.
>Reach the room with 2 chained gorecyclops
What the frick are you supposed to do there?
I have dragonforged Grigori weapons and they don't do shit.
Options are
1. periapts
2. rarefy to gold d'forged
3. try to roll better weapons from Lv.2 purifications
If he got lucky with horn drops from the Bishop's dragon, he could try grabbing Accursed Errand from the nearby Arisen's Refuge, clearing it, and just buy a Lv.2 weapon outright from Barroch. It's what I often do if my Lv2 rolls are terrible, but it's admittedly a rough option since he'll probably need to cheese one or more full power Cursed Dragons and scrounge up the money.
>what the frick are you supposed to do there?
Run. How does that pawn line about fleeing and surviving go again? You gotta take that shit to heart.
I didn't play DDO. What's Black Flash Fang? What did it do?
'tis not defeat to flee from battle, master. 'tis survival.
There we have it, thank you. Sage advice, right there.
Black Flash was a High Scepter skill that imbued the sword with dark magic and stabbed the enemy with it. It functioned exactly like 1000/Scarlet Kisses in that it had both ground and mounted animations. It also did big damage to boss stamina so it could wear them out quickly.
Now that I think about it, the functionality to make the Skewer skills work that way already exists in DDDA, as proved by 1000 Kisses. If it's as simple as adding the Gouge classrefs to the Skewer main classref structure and checking a true/false flag to enable Skewer while mounted, I could make a mod that turns the Skewer skills into Fighter's version of Kisses. The only problem I forsee right now is whether pawn AI will be able to use it.
don't hit the cyclopes until you're ready. it's not that hard if you don't get close. really though unless you have BBI2 weapons you should ignore them. get the loot and continue on. the pawns are easy.
If you start a new game on a different machine, is your old pawn still in the cloud? Does the game make you make a new one, overriding the old one or can you carry it over?
The only way for your old pawn to continue existing when starting an entirely new game file is to back the file up or by being hired by someone and not returned yet. Unless you're hiring the pawn yourself on a different account or made specific arrangements with someone else the latter is a crapshoot.
Where does the seat of god lie?
I'm 99% sure they say "eras deus astra", "you were god of the stars", which makes me wonder if they got an actual latin expert, or just put sort of correct sounding words together.
How much discipline do you usually save up for when you switch to a different vocation for the first time? About to hit max level on my Strider, which I'm only doing for the equip load augment
after getting beat by bandits, I decided to do the witchwood quest after pushing the cart to gran soren, but then it failed when I did that. Is it worthwhile going to the witchwood anyway?
Why are you lying? you only fail looking for Quina by doing Lure of the abyss.
didn’t lie on purpose man, that just means I’m stupid and didn’t remember properly, question still stands though
Then the next question is do you want to do the quest witch hunt? If not then its not worth doing, if yes then you have to do lost and found to do witch hunt.
so because I failed lost and found, I should wait till ng+ so I can do both of those quests properly?
Yea just push on, it's fine to make mistakes.
thanks
That, or you go to hard mode, it resets the game but you keep gear, or even go to hard mode then back to normal difficulty.
You missed out on your free wife.
Is Iraklis a meme? Or is it legit as a weapon?
It easily rivals the strongest BBI weapons when goldforged, but you really want to use only multi-hit attacks to maximize crit chance.
Do pawns make good use of it? The +50% damage taken and stamina consumed onus has me worried for them.
Well, kinda.
Convinced me to keep it on my warrior pawn. Seeing crits go off is fun enough that it probably outweighs the damage loss if it does exist.
give them the charge attack and like nothing else
i haven't tested it much on pawns. grit would make up for the stamina issues, not sure for defense
legit, good for multi hit attacks like jumping heavy and indomitable lunge
If it matters it's really easy to goldforge meaning you can sell one or two things from BBI early, buy it, kill one dragon with throwblasts, and then crush the entire game with it.
It's really satisfying once you get used to it. There's no better feeling than a crit on the Arc
it's a meme but it works.
Any character creation guideline where I could make my avatar a cute twink?
I suck at this stuff.
Worth it ro re-buy it on ps4 or just go with ps3?
If you have dark arisen on PS3 then stick with that. I don't think any console version got 60fps.
>burn the goblin leader
>poison him as well
>he still gets away alive
The only time I managed to kill him he was dying mid-air from fire. Looked pretty funny.
Petrify and shatter him. He’s worth like 5k exp for some reason.
as a melee vocation, is using Liquid Vim the only way to knockdown awakened Daimon during his big rift hole attack? I was clinging to him and he drained my entire stamina in less than a second
So I am going to be taking two pawns on my adventure from level 150 to 200 while collecting all the macabre statues and wiping out everything in BBI I come across.
Anyone need RC? Slight Preference if the pawn has sinew but otherwise makes no difference.
im think she has sinew, i cant remember well
Don’t think I can afford hiring a pawn 50 levels above me.
Take out a loan
sorry i tought you where taking pawns from lvl 150 to 200
I had my pawn on Fighter for like the first 30 levels because I figured a party needs a tank
He's just standing near me and barely fricking attacking enemies
Should I just switch him to Strider and hope he stops being a guardian?
Buy a scather flask meme on the encampment, its what I did. Once he switched to Scather/Guardian instead of the opposite he actually started fighting shit again
you can get mindbreak juice by the riftstone you made your pawn
no RC
I already made him utalitarian/mitigator early on but he guarded too much since then
if you're a piratechad you can get RC from the "from another world" quests at the notice board by the everfall door. otherwise bust out those lace panties and gets to twerkin niggy.
Just beat Daimon for the first time. The Dark Arisen content is fantastic. Great expansion. The whole atmosphere of Bitterblack Isle and the lead up to Daimon was peak fantasy adventure. All the other dungeons in the base game are too short and easy so I'm glad they went all out with Bitterblack Isle. I hope the sequel has less focus on open world and more focus on the dungeon crawling. Daimon was a really fun boss, I liked how he basically forces a solo fight unless you know his gimmick beforehand. This was the only fight in the game that made me use up most of my consumables and actually use all the tools I had gathered up to this point. On a side note, Mystick Knight is kind of a lame vocation. I really like the idea of a magic swordsman and the battle stance with the shield on back and sword out looks really cool, but the actual skills are kind of lame. Great Cannon feels like it just exists to cheese enemies and spending like 30 seconds to renew your buffs gets annoying.
Go beat Daimon again, on the same save.
Fricking trust me and do it.
>I hope the sequel has less focus on open world and more focus on the dungeon crawling.
Run it through again.
>Mystic Knight
Mystic Knight is fine but I notice I don't like it going to Daimon. I like it everywhere else except him.
They really did nail the cursed dungeon thing, no other game comes close for me
here we go again...
I must have godsbaned myself a few thousand times by now
Did they really add an item to kys yourself instead of just making it so you can reload from the pause menu
You have a nice day REALLY fast, it's convenient.
>not having at least 300 deaths by godsbane
i must have that many times at olphis' place alone for pairs of lingerie
NO! OPEN YOUR EYES!
Stay with me!!

>10 minutes in
Doubt, takes at least 30 to be able to do anything that's an actual game.
OP here. Maybe it was longer because time just flew by seeing that I played for practically the entire day now.
Joining in this pawn recruitment thing. Not really sure what happens when someone hires your pawn but just give my girl a try. Basically modelled after Regina from Dino Crisis.
>PC

Can’t find your pawn at all.
Weird. Just rested at an inn right now
Moniker?

i had to kill myself 20+ times...
Now comes the fun part, purification lottery!
>Hire new pawn
>Fighting condemned Gore Cyclops
>Notice new pawn is no where to be seen
>Rotate camera
>This fighter is simply staring at me charge arc whilst the mage and ranger are getting knocked about
>tmw I picked up a pawn with the Guardian inclination
>picked up three warriors for a le funny meme team
>walking along the river to finish a kill saurians quest
>they never stray more than five centimetres from me
>yep, all three were guardians
that's when I started always checking inclinations
yeah. some inclinations are just fricking terrible and makes pawns useless.
easy way to kill minotaurs is to lure them to the edge
There Arisen! 'tis an anonymous imageboard poster!
They are many, Arisen!
how the frick are you having a blast 10 minutes in? its the worst part of the game. jesus christ this board has shit taste
You hate the prologue that much?
Brine Rook and get someone else
what lvl i need to beat this mf?
lvl 180, on the second phase i barely do damage in his face chest
forgot pic
It's not a level issue or even really a gear issue. Get some Periapts and maybe some Blast Arrows if you're really struggling that badly.
i hope your heart lead you to fournival
use 4 conquerors/demon's periapts
what weapons?
bb lvl3 daggers dragonforged lv 2 bow dragonforged lv 3
then yeah idk how you're doing no damage but I imagine the daggers are just tickles since even the devil's nail silverforged was barely """chunking""" him. daimon v2 is pretty aids. just keep kissing his chest/face.
Second time I've looked for her with no avail, what's her moniker?
Straight
As all things should be
You're lucky I can't find either name otherwise she'd be tagging along with a group of raging lesbians.
Are you looking for level 199 pawns?
Yes, even found another Anon's pawn that was last posted a while ago but I forgot to search for.
PC? Steam?
Yes, yes. 199, strider, female, half an hour worth of refreshing. When was the last time you rested? Apparently it bumps your pawn to the top of the list.
Like half an hour ago, what the frick is wrong with my prawn
>dd scat.png
It's dirt-cheap on GOG right now, is it worth buying?
not on gog. separate online pool from steam.
If you have any interest in the pawn system at all consider getting it on somewhere like steam. If you don't or don't know then pirate first.
ur-dragon too. the gog one is like generation 40 something while steams is 1580~
>the gog one is like generation 40
lel
Does that mean goggays can semi-reliably kill their ur-dragon without waiting for grace?
no it means since 2017 their ur-dragon has only been killed 40 some times. 46 to be specific.
Right, so it has much less health than anywhere else.
lol guess it depends on your definition of reliable I guess. I'll take the more guarenteed heal
doesn't it gradually get more health for the first 100 generations or so
just leaving this here
cause more people need to see it
