Its what his discord told him to call the game. Just think, they send him instead of coming here themselves. He's the one they consider expendable.
He can't explain why he's calling it reddit game because he was just told to call it that by his superiors.
They didn't explain why to him, it isn't needed for the shitposting.

Its just discord embarrassing themselves again, its fine.
Take 5 single player games you like and look at their steam achievement or trophy completion rate. Most people will play a game for a few hours and never touch it again.
ER's clear rate is way higher than 25% as well. There's 4 endings and he's only looking at the cheevo for 1 of them.

It's totally fine to dislike or even hate the game. The question was simply, what is a reddit game. And you weren't able to answer

in a short answer
a generic game or a game that is average/not that good, but it gets overly worshipped as a legendary masterpiece or the best game of all time when in reality the game is extremely overrated or just a quick cash grab.
take fallout 4 as an example, the game got praised be every youtube e-celeb, every gaming journo and since reddit loves to follow the status quo blindly, they also worshipped fallout 4 like the best game ever. In reality fallout 4 is garbage and a massive downgrade to the fallout series
when i call something a reddit game this is what i meant^^^^
obviously i can't speak for everyone, some posters think a reddit game is a completely different thing it's an abstract concept afterall, i can't define the concept of a reddit game for a whole board since Ganker is not one person

Ok this makes absolutely no sense, and I reread it 4 times >but it gets overly worshipped as a legendary masterpiece or the best game of all time
And this was not the case with Stray, not in the slightest. >take fallout 4 as an example, the game got praised be every youtube e-celeb, every gaming journo
No lmao, wtf are you smoking. Everyone said it's a cool game and that's it, nobody "praised" it because there's nothing to praise, it was just a nice game among many others. >and since reddit loves to follow the status quo blindly
How do you know so much about reddit? How many hours per day do you spend there? Seriously >they also worshipped fallout 4 like the best game ever
How do you even know that? You must really spend a lot of time there >when i call something a reddit game this is what i meant^^
Nonsensical shit you made up in your mind to have a reason to be mad? >some posters think a reddit game is a completely different thing it's an abstract concept afterall

this is the mentality of nu-/v/, nu-Ganker is cancer

I have no idea what you're trying to say. To know so much about reddit simply means you spend time there therefore know reddit. Nothing wrong with that, I myself got filtered and don't understand how it works, so I don't bother. But you seem to be quite knowledgeable about the people there and their tastes. >oldgay
Unless you were on Ganker in 2004 you will always be a newbie, it's not a matter of how long, but when. I'm a 2007 newbie and at 30 I have better things to do than "larp as an oldgay".
This all started because I wanted to know what a "reddit game" means, no need to get mad, let's talk about the game

It would be really nice to have a covenant system again, there’s so much they could do with Elden Ring covenants, they completely dropped the ball with PVP otherwise I’d probably be playing Elden Ring so much more
probably because they saw it for what it is - dark souls game with hamfisted empty open world
Most of the world have shitty and unfitting rewards (katana from dragon?, shitty summon you will never use, consumables that are pretty much useless) and while locations do look nice most of them lack anything that would force to explore them differently than the others which makes game look.
I have completed it and most of the bosses are boring anime spammers
I don't particularly love ER but >empty open world
You haven't played the game. The world is filled to the brim with stuff to do and find. If anything there's way too much content.
It does have issues, but being "empty" sure ain't one if them
I did and I enjoyed the bits that were not an empty open world, most of the quest are you basic shit dark souls "you can miss things if you go the other way" shit and while it does work for linear game it sure doesn't for such big open world.
That is also mainly the reason why so many people got ranni ending, because it is only non convoluted shitty quest that tells you anything, not like the one with shabiri eyes
You can play the game and not like it you moron, most of the dungeons with ashes is fricking same shit with open the door to fight the boss it reminds me of ___skyrim___
I was only talking about "world is empty" part.
Otherwise yes you are right and the game does have issues, but the world itself is absurdly packed with content
I think they should have removed one area and combined haligtree and farum azula. And the capital should have been AFTER the mountaintop
2 years ago
Anonymous
Could you really say it was packed with content when it is nearly Witcher question mark shit quality?
Only locations that felt good because of the open world was first 2 and maybe vulcano manor due to nature of story there.
If they wanted to make open world game they should have also make quests more apparent or harder to fail due change of the world and the fact that you don't even have scarce quest log that would at least track the shit that you did and had npc dialogue so you won't forget it 5 hours later is ridiculous. They wanted to make open world game but they didn't change their mindset in the slightest and we good that husk that, while filled with something, lack interesting stuff
2 years ago
Anonymous
I think they should have made roaming respawning bosses in the open world that dropped decent crafting materials or something. The open world itself is just full of chaff and generally anything worth fighting doesn't even respawn.
I know they already reuse the bosses they have quite a bit so maybe people wouldn't like it, but still. Give them a gameplay time respawn of like an hour if they're worried about grinding or whatever.

Not him but every 5 seconds there's a new dungeon, a quest, a new unique enemy, something to find, secret locations, the one thing ER isn't, is empty
2 years ago
Anonymous
>every 5 seconds there's a new dungeon
Really? A NEW dungeon? With new things to see and do? Really?
Or is it just the same dungeon and the same patrolling enemies and the same useless camp of monsters with nothing remotely interesting or rewarding at the end?
Anonymous
>every five second
It really is exaggeration >new dungeon
fair enough, there are many of them but most of the time they have same copy pasted texture and are just "open door, kill miniboss, get ashes) >quest
they are very scarce, after 2 first location you get maybe 2-3 quests per location and that is only if you didn't miss some obscure npc that maybe told you that he will be somwhere there but you don't remember because it was 10 hours ago and game does not have journal, you can also fail quests you do not know about because you skipped them early and while this worked in semi linear dark souls it does not in big game like ED. >new unique enemy
if you mean mini bosses then ok, I will give you that they are quiet unique but most of overworld enemies have low variety per zone >something to find, secret location
most of them are related to quests and they are very scarce,
Most of dungeons have shit rewards like ashes or consumables. It wouldn't be so bad if upgrading ashes wasn't done with limited resources because then I would like to try them all but due to how they did it it was shit
How is it copy pasted if it's always different? Sure some dungeons have the same aasets but they are still very different >who doesn't understand what empty wod means
Empty world means a world that is empty, devoid of content, you know, EMPTY. Which ER cannot be since you find something new every 3 minutes
2 years ago
Anonymous
>but they are still very different
I think you're using the word "very" incorrectly here. They're SLIGHTLY different.
Anonymous
Ok, let's go even further and say the dungeons are extremely similar.
The main point was the world being packed with content
2 years ago
Anonymous
Your definition of "content" is so lenient that I bet you'd consider a single enemy standing in place to be "content".
>Over here, there's 3 giants. >And over there, there's 5 bats. >And if you go over HERE, there's 6 soldiers guarding a chest with a useless weapon you don't need. >And if you look over there, there's a door to a dungeon that's the exact same as all of the other dungeons, and leads to the same exact final room with a "boss" which is just a normal enemy but called a boss that you've already fought elsewhere, and the reward is a chest with a weapon you don't need.
If you fill an open space with 1000 of the same exact thing copied and pasted, it's hardly "full of content".
NTA, but the world is indeed so crammed with content that I find new dungeons and shit I missed on each subsequent playthrough. However the issue is that's it's always the same 3-5 structures ; one of 3 dungeon types, a ruin with an underground, a tower puzzle, or a boss you already already fought before.
I would have personally really enjoyed it if each region had at least a gimmick in exploration, like if only Limgrave had the windspring thing. Imagine Caelid having some root/plant thing you can hit to make it sprawl into a makeshift platform, Liurnia with some magic bridge, and mountaintops being actual mountain peaks you can only traverse by using an horizontal gliding equivalent to the windspring
With how it currently is, the exploration is too boring by never breaking the rhythm/loop introduced as early as Limgrave. It's the same with dungeons, the few actually unique ones are really refreshing compared to the copy-pasted majority of them.
It's really apparent that they spent a majority of the development on Limgrave and then the creative directors said "ok now do the same for five more regions" and let the grunts fill the rest of the game.
lmao truth is that stats are completely normal for any games with a beggining and end, many people buy a game and never play iut, or play it for 3 hours and leave it, or get stuck in a part and leave it, or do all the secondary stuff and get tired and stop playing, or get spoiled of the final boss on youtube and think "ah whathever" and just don't bother, I literally did that my first time around with Bloodborne, I have never even seen the credits even though I played through 955 of it and think it's a masterpiece lol.
Take 5 single player games you like and look at their steam achievement or trophy completion rate. Most people will play a game for a few hours and never touch it again.
>I don’t think you know what that word means
dunning kruger at its best
open world isn't the opposite of a linear game, in fact it's still more linear than non linear
open world just refers to the physical dimension and means, that you could theoretically go to most locations right from the start of the game
in practice there is still a certain order as to when you will be where - a certain line that you will always follow
most of all, there is a beginning and an end that is always the same and only the road their varies slightly, but not enough to distinctively leave that line / order / road and reach a completely different end
looking at the other dimensions of a game, in terms of story, gameplay, character development most open world games are close to 100% linear
a non linear game on the other hand is a game that has no fixed beginning or end, i.e. a sandbox
Anon, it's a single-player game with some online elements, implemented in the worst possible ways.
if the base state of the game is single player, then it's single player.
you won't meet a single other person if you don't actively try to, you'll just see their ghosts.
The lack of covenants and disconnect issues really killed the interest in pvp imo. Even casual players would at least try pvp if a covenant had a neat reward at X rank or whatever. Maybe any eventual DLC will add some kind of area or some shit that revives it a bit.

Souls vet here, this is my take on things as someone who has obsessively played the shit out of DeS and DaS1 since their respective launches on PS3.
Concepts:
>New Firelink Shrine (DaS3) == The Nexus (DeS)
The resemblance is fricking stunning if you've ever played DeS. Lord Thrones are in the exact same alignment that the archstones are, surrounding where you spawn in, with multiple levels of height within the area accessible by curved staircases.
>Lothric Castle (DaS3) == Boletaria Castle (DeS)
You start the game here, and the climax of the game is here (fighting twin princes/false king allant).
>Karla (DaS3) == Yuria the Witch (DeS)
Karla teaches forbidden hex magic/miracles/pyromancies that channel the power and rage of the abyss, Yuria the Witch teaches forbidden magic that channel the power and rage of demon souls.
> Stormruler (DaS3) == Storm Ruler (DeS)
Used to take down mighty foes with a legendary sword found in the corresponding boss arenas. Yhorm and the Storm King are basically the same type of "puzzle boss" until you find the sword.
Mechanics:
> FP (DaS3) == MP (DeS)
Literally the same exact shit.
> Rolling
Functions the same exact way as DeS, because med rolling was buffed so fricking hard that the difference between fast roling and med rolling is so small that staying right under the fat roll minimum is required for every build.
Case-in-point, DaS3 is super fricking stale for veterans who have been with the series since DeS in 2009/2010. It's literally because the game is around 50% recycled DaS content, 30% recycled DeS content, 10% recycled bloodborne content, and 10% original content.
I didn't realize there was a sword to fight Yhorm until you pointed it out. I would have labeled Yhorm as the worst DS3 boss because I had to hack away at him for 20 minutes or so while he attacks the same way the entire time. I thought they just tried and failed to make a hard boss by giving it high def and lots of health, but it turns out it was just me who was moronic.
All Souls game are repetitive to a veteran. If you started with Demons Souls and went on, the series has very few original ideas in terms of atmosphere, locations, characters and mechanisms. The 4th time I walked up to a crestfallen character who laughs nervously after each sentence or a character that laughs maniacally when you release them and then says very little about themselves, or I had to walk off an elevator mid movement to reach a ledge, I realized I was done with Souls.
To be fair DS3 really pushed the whole endless combo shit rollfest to what it is now in Elden Ring, which is the one of the main reasons people hate it.
>which is the one of the main reasons people hate it.
Literally everyone except a couple autists on Ganker love the game anon
I hope you realise this board does not represent the real world
>Literally everyone except a couple autists on Ganker love the game anon
And avengers endgame was the best selling film of all time or some shit and people love it. Doesn't make it great. Also the game is dead somehow, a reality so damning that people are calling it a single player game to cope, despite the previous Souls games also being "single player" and not dying anywhere near this fast.
no anon, you ever think about people that don't post? it's not rocket science, just look at the enemies/bosses combos in elden ring and compare them to those in bloodborne or des/das. try to think for a second
I did beat it so your statement is wrong.
You're like your console can't run it Tendie, because you would have been filtered so hard that you would be making rage threads here.
You do realize 45k players is a pretty good amount? You do also realize it’s a (mainly) single player game with no dlc so the replay value isn’t the best for most people? I swear you morons just look at numbers and say “hurr durr numbers down so it’s bad” instead of actually thinking WHY the numbers could have gone done? Definitely can’t be because it’s half a year old, single player, isn’t pumped with constant online support, and is the steam version?
No, just a bad game. Has to be right? Numbers are down
Deserved.
Game's multiplayer is completely barebones and broken (literally, you cannot be connected to another player for more than 2 minutes) compared to the previous games and the singleplayer isn't worth replaying in the slightest.
How do homosexual OPs get the energy to keep making these gay threads? Is the power of homosexualry that strong? Why cant it be put to use powering the grid?
I am in the club of thinking ER is not that great, but you have unrealistic standards if you think a single player game is not going to shed player count after launch.
The only point you're making is that the game: >is not repayable >has poor multiplayer experience
I don't think you'll find more than a handful of people that have 100h+ who would disagree.
Shame they didn't allow for Torrent during co-op, even if it would trivialise the overworld to the point of a joke.
It's a single player game with online elements, it's been out for 6 months and there's no new content. Of course it's not going to have 900k concurrent players all the time. The PvP/Co-Op only applies to a smaller portion of the playerbase.
Plus as it's already been pointed out, you're only using steam so that's one specific platform. What I really don't understand is the purpose of this thread; is it just some moron trying to get (You)s even though there's no reddit karma system on here, or is it bamco's shitty marketing trying to gauge interest on when would be the best time to announce the DLC? Either way, frick you. Fix the fricking XenoVerse 2 servers/netcode, it fricking sucks
I didn't say anybody forced me to reply. I simply stated that I do not understand what you would expect as a reply by saying that, which is clear from your typing method that you're attempting to instigate.
10% player retention after 6 months is actually insanely good, most mobile games are regarded successful if they retain 10% of their users at the end of the month they come out and they are regarded as service games, and are much more dependent on player retention unlike a single player AAA game with no outside monetization
pvp is not the main draw of these games, it's meant as a companion to the whole experience, where sometimes you might get invaded, the people who play these games as pvp games are a very small minority, and they most likely went back to dark souls where the competition is at its highest
I'm going to assume you're the OP, because nobody else could be so fricking dumb as to not understand why it's important to state the nature of the game when talking about player retention.
Translation for those who are not subhumans: 90% of the players have completed the game in every facet after 7 months and are now playing other games while they wait for dlc.
watch ER fanboys in delusion trying to defend this with their excuses
ds1 kept its playerbase for years after the release and not just because ds1 had pvp
reddit ring is a mediocre game but redditors on Ganker won't admit it

>a game made in a time when gaming is mainstream is more popular than a game made in a time when gaming was a niche

i will take this post as 100% proven truth and fact since there is still no way yet to post a screenshot of someone else's video game completion percentage

I'm not telling you, I'm commenting on the fact that your posts are memes and not real opinions that anyone holds.
>normalgays jump from one meme bandwagon to the next when its time is up
Truly shocking. Perhaps this explains why MGR memes have finally dried up and the only people still talking about Metal Gear are the people who actually played the fricking games.
The shitposters making these threads all got filtered. They stop using names to describe things around Leyndell. Thats where they got filtered.
They usually think the 2 snow areas are the same area.
It's a single player game. People play those, enjoy themselves, finish it and move on. Aside from speedrunners of course.
It's multiplayer games where people have 10k+ hours that are the problem. >b-but souls has pvp
only a small handful of turbohomosexuals care about that
I know, PvP is trash, but I do like reading signs and seeing ghosts of other players and sometimes even coop, if they just turned off one of the most iconic features of the series that means they scammed the players
I wouldn't say that myself because honestly I don't summon other players and I don't enjoy being invaded or seek out PvP because it's dumb. But if that's why you play Souls games, then I suppose you're fricked.
I don't see why this is shocking. PvP is clearly less convenient and puts the invader at top much of a disadvantage.
I also lacks covenants to draw people into the multiplayer. Plus the hardcore audience who's likely to stick around already knew about the game so the new players are more casuals who are happy to frick around with the game for 40 hours.
Noooo. Noooooo!! This is a call to action. Every anon go start elden ring right now! Leave the game idling when ever your not playing another game! Together we can save the ELDEN RING!!!!
I really hope they don't do DLC and just do a new game. DLC in open world games is always ass. They take a tiny new area and make you repetitively go up and down it over and over
It's absurd how angry this game's overwhelming success has made some people.
Reminds me of the unremitting tidal wave of butthurt that ensued following Monster Hunter World's announcement and lauded release.
It's not exclusively Nintendoholics this time round though. More like a fine blend of Snoys, Tendies, and seething third worlders.
It's just dark souls 3 with worse bosses and a boring open world. Ever consider that It just might not be that good? Bloodborne had the decency to switch up with mechanics and aesthetic. De-emphasizing shields and armor for more fast and intense combat, changing the healing mechanics, adding trick weapons for more dynamic combat, parrying replaced by ripostes, brand new fresh world. Whereas elden ring is the same tired formula and an almost identical setting with a jumping and a shield parry mechanic that is basically useless against anything except grunt enemies. Amazing. It's like the worst parts of botw and dark souls 3 had a kid.
maybe because its not a discord raid?
people have other things to do, other boards and threads to visit
if this was an actual discord raid, they wouldn't stop just because you ""exposed"" them
They're both the best because they innovated on the formula and added fun and interesting things to it. Elden ring didn't. Unless you find arguably the worst horseback combat ever, useless shield parries, Pokémon summoning (that play the game for you), or elixers that give you ridiculous buffs like unlimited FP fun and interesting innovations that add to the experience.
I'm actually waiting for the Elden Ring Reforged mod to be completed before diving in again. It's looking like a massive overhaul that will change the way you play the game.
the game is good but it suffers from problems open world RPGs almost always do, especially open world RPGs with action combat. Player power is expected to steadily increase and enemies are scaled to deal with that, the problem is the player gets to choose how their character progresses and its possible they screw up somehow and make the game too hard for themselves, or if they power game it building a strong character and use summons, then the game is too easy.
By haligreee the normal foot soldiers felt about as tough to me as the foot soldiers in limgrave did because my character was balanced, the reason the overall area was harder was because of enemy placement and the more challenging mobs. I had a good experience there but its possible some people feel like its a slog or is too easy.
It's a very overrated game. Miyazaki obviously had little to do with it and is focused on something else. I don't blame him though, he has to be tired of making the same game over and over. Hopefully Armored Core is breasts.
Because he wants to see the phantoms and messages and just play without having to deal with kids?

It is part of the game, impossible to ruin anyone's game. What's next? Warzone with no other players?
Are you surprised? The game is absolute normiecore garbage and was marketed out the ass so a lot of people bought the game out of hype but barely got a quarter in much less completed several playthroughs or played online
Video games are casual as frick now, people buy them to feel like they're a part of something, not to play them
>Haven't played ER in months >Hmm lets load up at start a new build >Two hand halberd, no sheild >See first NPC >Hmm lets kill him, I already did his quest before >Invasion items, cool >Pop one at The First Step >Guy with endgame gear, Rivers of Blood >Die to weapon art before I even realize it >Oh, they're still doing this >Lose all interest in the game immediately
The community killed it
Oh wow, homosexuals cheat? WOW WOWOW
I guess they LITERALLY CANT CHEAT if soul memory didnt exist. Just remove soul memory and cheaters will never exist again for the rest of humanity.
This is why I haven't touched the online part of the game after the 1st month of release. Unless FROM does something drastic, ER will have the worst PvP balance out of all the souls games. The moronic invasion system just compounds these problems since the invader is almost forced to cheese to ever get anything done and most Co-op players HATE the fact that the moment they summon one of their friends, facefrick mcgee poof into existance and either slow them down considerably or straigt up reset their co-op session.
It's not fun for anyone involved besides the dicksuckers that liked ganking lowbies with overpowered builds in the old games
PvP was fun and balanced for the first 20ish hours of my 100 hour playthrough.
I rarely even won a battle but it was a fun challenge and I got to see other peoples interesting new builds.
After that RoB Yootoob cancer completely corrupted the normie player base.
I honestly can't believe people are still doing the RoB weapon art at every level bracket and having fun with it.
It became Rivers of Blood the game. Bravo Fromsoft.
Imagine Fromsoft invasions as random enemy encounters, that is essentially how they were designed and function. Now Imagine that every single "random" enemy encounter is the same exact enemy type with the same exact weapon and the same exact move set. That is Elden Ring. No other Fromsoft game compares.
At the very least, RoB is very easy to punish since 99% of the users just do the same "Run up and L2" strategy. I've hit people with fully charged MLGS R2s just because they decided not to roll after the first slashes missed.
this unfortunately.
a buddy and I were repeatedly invaded by the same homosexual using a typical cookie cutter build.
we died to it once and learned his bullshit
then when we had him on the run (and OH FRICKING BOY is there so much room to run) he would b***h out only to invade us again with full resources.
the invasion mechanic in ER either needs fleshing out completely or removed completely.
>singleplayer game >"losing players" >after 7 months >7 months of being a worldwide phenomenon and bestseller >but this singleplayer game with MP options is now fully a multiplayer game because I'm a PVP autist
This exact thread has been posted for months and people are still replying seriously to it.
Please, Hiro, just delete this board and all the fricking double digit IQ morons that infest it.
>ER shitposting threads still going strong 6 months after relases
GOTY is almost certainly confirmed by this alone, the only time shitposters tries this hard and for this long is when they are extremely butthurt over the massive success of something that they have to force their delusions down everyones throats. Only Smash threads seems to rival the autism on display in ER shitposting threads
>Hey I want to play this game's open world with friends >TOS TOS PLAY BROKEN PVP
God why must people be such cry babies
Remember the guy obsessed with the FO4 lone wander perk working with dogmeat?
No, it's >hey I want to trivialize the game and avoid intended consequence and consequently worsen the game for everyone else
The guy who made the rant has a point
This constant shitposting all they have. At the end of the day, they are just NEETs on a NEET discord posting this. If they do not shitpost every single day I am 100% convinced they will just commit suicide. The mods and jannies are aware of this so they have designated Ganker as one of the autism quarantine boards by allowing discordtrannies to post whenever they want without being instabanned as long as it is 0.01% gaming related.
Unironically, I think they're stealth marketers. Nothing makes me want to defend Elden Ring like constantly hearing idiotic arguments from shazamkiddies about how Elden Ring is bad.
>Did everyone play Souls game?
Yes. Ganker used to make really great comics about demon souls/ds1 back before it got popular and therefore wasn't cool to talk about anymore.
That's what the vast majority of people do with every single player game.
It's very rare for people to keep playing through over and over again, such a thing is only reserved for autists, record seekers, and bored video game streamers.
I like to perfect the boss fighting, to make new characters with different builds, to enjoy the duels at Raya Lucaria and sometimes invade some other people.
The worst part about this game is that 99% of the time the rewards are completely useless, to the point where it almost feels insulting. Fighting through a dungeon only to get a smoldering butterfly or some shit at the end, its absurd. It'd be much better if the treasures you earn were actually cool.
It's so fricking boring and empty and what little content they put there is obsessively repeated throughout the game. And I don't give a flying shit about this one's story at all; the devs have gone full late-stage Nolan filmmaking on us
106 hours in with everything but haligtree 100%ed, suck my wiener and enjoy your 2-mile long cavern in the wall that ends with a ctrl-v boss and a companion ash
Then if you really 100% it you'd know the world is stupidely packed with shit to do and find, if anything, there's way too much content
That or you missed everything. Game is full of issues but being empty isn't one of them
Then you indeed missed a lot of things if you only found fricking mushrooms
I'm here wondering how the hell I'll be able to use and see all the shit they added, my inventory is filled to the brim with weapons armors spells and what not and I know I missed A LOT of content.

That's not an issue because the majority of it is redundant. There's very little actually unique stuff.
Almost all weapons on a category have the exact same moveset, those that don't either use the moveset of a similar weapon type or a "unique" moveset that sucks.
Somber weapons have somewhat unique skills at least but most of them kinda suck.
When you're in the 2nd to last zone and find a weapon that's worse than your starting sword in every ways but it slashes right to left instead of left to right, it's not exactly exciting.

To add to what this guy said, in DaS3 you at least had weapon arts unique to new weapons, making them feel special to collect, but in ER the ashes of war have to be searched for separately and even when you do find them they are poorly balanced, with the majority feeling boring and useless, and a select few being significantly OP to use that you would always just pick them
>stupidely packed with shit to do and find >with shit
If I am encountering the same mob halfway across the planet in a completely different-looking region at lvl80 that I already fought at lvl10, something is seriously wrong. If I go downstairs in a ruins and open a chest and get a mediocre weapon at lvl 10, then at lvl 80 go downstairs in a ruins and open a chest and get a mediocre weapon at level 80, something is seriously wrong. If I need to add more health to a boss as the sole method of making it harder for the player, I am doing something wrong. If half of my inventory is full of things I find disinteresting, there is something seriously wrong. If I have to walk throughly 5 towns before finding a single NPC with 3 lines of cryptic victorian-era dialogue, there is something seriously wrong.
It's effectively empty for anything past your first run.
The overworld itself has almost nothing of interest. What little loot there is, you can just run in, grab the loot and be away before the enemies even unsheat their weapon.
For any given build, the majority of caves and catacombs are useless. Sure you can go out of your way to go in one, kill imps #507-528 and defeat some reused boss but you get a rather pitiful amount of runes and no useful loot.
That leaves legacy dungeons but let's be honest they're not very interesting when you don't need to explore them to find the path forward. And then there's the shardbearers.
Godrick shouldn't be a problem since it's your 2nd run and he's pretty easy once you're used to the game.
Renalla is a complete joke no matter what.
Radhan essentially has 2 experiences, melee and ranged, otherwise he plays exactly the same.
Rykard might as well not count with his gimmick.
Which leaves only Mogh being of any real interest before Leyndell.
>Played through blind >Made 2 other builds and played through the game >Made a low level pvp character >Got to Haligtree at level 20 >Made a character specifically to kill early game bosses and invade people to drop end-game weapons like rotten crystal spears, beast greatswords, and flame monk weapons if they aren't ganksquad homosexuals
Still having a pretty good time with the game, all things considered.
>beat Demon's Souls/Dark Souls/Dark Souls 2/Dark Souls 3 >play it again with a new build >play it again with a new build >play it again with a new build >etc
>beat Elden Ring >play it again with a new build >get board having to ride around through the bland overworld constantly >tons of copy paste dungeons sap my will to live >quit
>Beat Dark Souls 3 >Play it again with a new build >Get bored having to walk through the bland overworld constantly >Tons of copy paste soldiers sap my will to live >Quit
Elden Ring is more mentally exhausting and feels more tedious than all other souls game.
It's not just the replay value that's low with all the shitty tombs and mine shafts and pointless areas to traverse, the bosses feel dull to play against too and you don't really feel any joy in fighting them again and again because they rely on bullshit moves and have aggressive but super predictable AI.
You summarized my thoughts better than any other anon so far.
The entire game feels like 10, maybe 15% completion. I would still call this game at its current state in alpha if I did not know what it was. 90% of the map needs to be cut entirely and everything living in it compressed together. It would be a short 15 hour game but at least it would be an stomachable game at minimum.
>normalBlack folk eventually get bored of annual le epic superhard and trendy souls game ever made again
Color me surprised
I'm not knocking the game, but normal Black folk are scum who hype up everything, its gonna happen again anyways like always
>Single player game with a campaign that ends >Complete the game
Wow shit I'm a genius!! I figured out why people stop playing the game after they finished it!! You guys are absolutely moronic ameriBlack folk and I am now your god!
you make this thread every other day for what? its a primarily single player game that still has nearly 50k people still playing it several months later, how is this a bad thing?
It's not even PVPgays, I feel sorry for duelists and fight clubbers that get shit on because of invaders. Do invaders even count as PVPgays when they specifically hate fighting experienced players?
Haven't played Elden Ring but is it true that they deleted the handcrafted levels and turned the majority of the main game content into copy pasted chalice dungeons?
>is it true that they deleted the handcrafted levels and turned the majority of the main game content into copy pasted chalice dungeons?
... no? Where the frick did you see that lmao
Ds3 is soulless garbage despite being the most soild game from a technical standpoint .
I can barley remember any of it despite beating it twice and putting In 150ish hours, just that the starting longsword was op and made finding other weapons pointless
BB>DS1>ER>Ds2>Ds3
This gets posted for every single game that comes out with a large marketing budget.
Does anyone know the marketing company posting this trash? They sit here bumping the thread pretending to have a conversation with each other, and it's annoying to see the fake controversy
How? But Ganker told me it was the best soulsborne made ever ???
>soulsbornerino
Fricking have a nice day
It is, people just moved on after finishing it
>nooooooo you have to keep replaying it forever like how we replay Mawio 64!!!!
>Still has more players than WoW
its just souls. you dont name a series after spin offs and side games.
>believing bugmen markerters lies
No one that is an actual souls fan says that. The only people who say that are normies who's first souls game is Reddit ring
>reddit ring
What does that even mean
You know exactly what that means
Sadly no. Same with the "reddit game" thing, no idea what that means and nobody is able to provide a definition
Its just what his discord told him to say. He can't even tell you why, he isn't vetted enough to be explained his marching orders.
Maybe Torrent's jumps are like double spacing I don't know.
The bots are in full force today
Its what his discord told him to call the game. Just think, they send him instead of coming here themselves. He's the one they consider expendable.
what?
He can't explain why he's calling it reddit game because he was just told to call it that by his superiors.
They didn't explain why to him, it isn't needed for the shitposting.
Not a bot, I just recognize the same shitposting threads the discord has made for 6 months. It has all the bulletpoints of the shazamtroony list in the posts. Its a discord thread.
lol and people say /misc/tards are schizos
for the average brainlet ER fanboy the idea someone doesn't like their game is inconceivable to them they think it's some "discord raid", with that in mind why should i even bother making some detailed critic?
It is some discord raid.
Its just discord embarrassing themselves again, its fine.
In reality fallout 4 is garbage and a massive downgrade to the fallout series
when i call something a reddit game this is what i meant^^^^
obviously i can't speak for everyone, some posters think a reddit game is a completely different thing it's an abstract concept afterall, i can't define the concept of a reddit game for a whole board since Ganker is not one person
>some posters think a reddit game is a completely different thing it's an abstract concept afterall, i can't define the concept of a reddit game for a whole board since Ganker is not one person
a good reason to just explain your thought clearly, instead of assigning an esoteric concept in your head to a word out of laziness. anyway I know you haven't even played elden ring
>know you haven't even played elden ring
i know, you probably still think i am a discord raider as well.
Ok this makes absolutely no sense, and I reread it 4 times
>but it gets overly worshipped as a legendary masterpiece or the best game of all time
And this was not the case with Stray, not in the slightest.
>take fallout 4 as an example, the game got praised be every youtube e-celeb, every gaming journo
Seriously
>they also worshipped fallout 4 like the best game ever
How do you even know that? You must really spend a lot of time there
>when i call something a reddit game this is what i meant^^
Nonsensical shit you made up in your mind to have a reason to be mad?
>some posters think a reddit game is a completely different thing it's an abstract concept afterall
Holy fricking shit so you demented fricks just type words without meaning at random
Seriously, as I said before, just leave
>How do you know so much about reddit? How many hours per day do you spend there? Seriously
classic homosexualry
if you criticize something without ever experiencing it then you can't criticize it.
if you try something before you criticize, then you can no longer criticize it.
this is the mentality of nu-/v/, nu-Ganker is cancer
bet you like to larp as an oldgay as well, just like any other homosexual who got here post 2016
This all started because I wanted to know what a "reddit game" means, no need to get mad, let's talk about the game
meds. stat.
Salt and Sanctuary actually shits over all FromSoft games
shame salt and sacrifice had to release on the epic launcher. pirated that shit
It is, hence the glowing reviews, absurd player count, months of discussions, incoming goty, etc...
Can you sonygays just frick off already. I get you're mad about horizon but holy.
PC will never be as good as consoles. Enjoy your hax, crashes, and 30 storefronts for each of your games. Pigs
it has always been better. seethe more about your 3 exclusives every 8 years
Enjoy your exclusive 30,000 dollar space ships and 10,000 dollar train sims. homosexual
Youre also thieves as well as cheaters
>poorgay cant even afford digital trucks and spaceships
hows PSVR going for you?
So you admit to being the real cancer that destroyed gaming. The average PC fat
>Youre also thieves as well as cheaters
Am I supposed to give a shit that people pirate on a platform?
Good job stealing someone elses pedo picture, PCtard
What?
Good job stealing someone elses pedo picture, PCtard
There's no such thing as image posting copyright. If there is, this ENTIRE site would be nuked
this, it is written at the page's bottom
>All trademarks and copyrights on this page are owned by their respective parties. Images uploaded are the responsibility of the Poster. Comments are owned by the Poster.
Why are you even bothering replying to obvious bait?
I'm just so baffled by the idea of stealing images. Usually I don't respond to bait, but stealing images and posting them, that's a new one that fricked with me
What hax, what crashes, and what 30 storefronts? It's either steam or piratebay
>Enjoy your hax, crashes, and 30 storefronts for each of your games
You mean just about everything the PlayStation has and more?
it has more players than every other souls game right now, so it is according to OP
Why did you put a question mark at the end of your sentence?
DaS 2
Bb=sekiro=3>ER=2>Des=das
Elden Ring is practically DS3 modded to be like DS2.
>pc
cope. PC has always been the worst platform for elden ring, and ever since Demon Soul's, playstation has been the home of its fanbase
>snoys one of the most moronic group of people that plague this world and the gaming community enjoy the game the most.
It adds up.
No it's been the 360 ever since dark souls, moron
>PC players finish a singleplayer game and move on to the next-amazing on PC-gaming experience
>nogames snoys and nintendies mazed to the point of replaying the same games and rehashes for the last 20 years lose their mind
consooooooooooooom
>he has actual games to play
>NOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT JUST PLAY ALL THOSE AMAZING GAMES, CONSOOM CONSOOM, INSERT OTHER BUZZWORD HERE
don't think. only cons00m!!
>PC players have literally 1000s of games to choose from in every genre
>nintendies have 5 IPs and snoys have 40 different movie games
>PC players begging for bloodborne
Bloodborne is already on PC
You don't consume video games? Why are you on a video games board then?
Absolutely based, PVP in souls games has always been pretty active and relevant on console
Sucks that PvP is in one of its worst states in this game. Really hoping we get any at all for dlc.
It would be really nice to have a covenant system again, there’s so much they could do with Elden Ring covenants, they completely dropped the ball with PVP otherwise I’d probably be playing Elden Ring so much more
>people stop playing a linear, effectively single player game months after it comes out
whoa
Only 25% has beaten it though.
ok and?
They never beat it, hence ERgays main argument of "le completed singleplayer game!" Doesn't hold up.
you don't have to complete a game to stop playing it
So right, you can also drop it like a turd.
Well, yeah?
There are many reasons to stop playing a game
probably because they saw it for what it is - dark souls game with hamfisted empty open world
Most of the world have shitty and unfitting rewards (katana from dragon?, shitty summon you will never use, consumables that are pretty much useless) and while locations do look nice most of them lack anything that would force to explore them differently than the others which makes game look.
I have completed it and most of the bosses are boring anime spammers
I don't particularly love ER but
>empty open world
You haven't played the game. The world is filled to the brim with stuff to do and find. If anything there's way too much content.
It does have issues, but being "empty" sure ain't one if them
>You didn't play the game
Give them a gameplay time respawn of like an hour if they're worried about grinding or whatever.
>they should have also make quests more apparent or harder to fail
>"Why isn't it more like a Ubisoft or Bethesda game?"
t you
Optional side quests aren't the only thing that make the world empty or full. Shit take polaczku
Then tell me what is so good about empty ring open world because some people in this thread try to defend this hollow shit but none provide any arguments or points why do they think that it is good
Could be new people who feel attached to the game for whatever reason, or trannies who just want to look like fools.
Not him but every 5 seconds there's a new dungeon, a quest, a new unique enemy, something to find, secret locations, the one thing ER isn't, is empty
>every 5 seconds there's a new dungeon
Really? A NEW dungeon? With new things to see and do? Really?
Or is it just the same dungeon and the same patrolling enemies and the same useless camp of monsters with nothing remotely interesting or rewarding at the end?
>every five second
It really is exaggeration
>new dungeon
fair enough, there are many of them but most of the time they have same copy pasted texture and are just "open door, kill miniboss, get ashes)
>quest
they are very scarce, after 2 first location you get maybe 2-3 quests per location and that is only if you didn't miss some obscure npc that maybe told you that he will be somwhere there but you don't remember because it was 10 hours ago and game does not have journal, you can also fail quests you do not know about because you skipped them early and while this worked in semi linear dark souls it does not in big game like ED.
>new unique enemy
if you mean mini bosses then ok, I will give you that they are quiet unique but most of overworld enemies have low variety per zone
>something to find, secret location
most of them are related to quests and they are very scarce,
Most of dungeons have shit rewards like ashes or consumables. It wouldn't be so bad if upgrading ashes wasn't done with limited resources because then I would like to try them all but due to how they did it it was shit
The open world is empty, Anon. Stop lying. Besides collecting stuff to craft and looking for NPCs and caves, it's nothing but scenery.
What constitutes a 'full' open world to you? Serious question. Is it Ubishit collectibles every 10 steps?
you're a dumbass who doesn't understand what empty open world means. Copy pasted bullshit is not content
How is it copy pasted if it's always different? Sure some dungeons have the same aasets but they are still very different
>who doesn't understand what empty wod means
Empty world means a world that is empty, devoid of content, you know, EMPTY. Which ER cannot be since you find something new every 3 minutes
>but they are still very different
I think you're using the word "very" incorrectly here. They're SLIGHTLY different.
Ok, let's go even further and say the dungeons are extremely similar.
The main point was the world being packed with content
What the frick happened to me when typing this?
you forgot the difference between a comma and a period.
That goes for every game.
That’s higher than the average game moron
Take 5 single player games you like and look at their steam achievement or trophy completion rate. Most people will play a game for a few hours and never touch it again.
>linear
I don’t think you know what that word means
>I don’t think you know what that word means
dunning kruger at its best
open world isn't the opposite of a linear game, in fact it's still more linear than non linear
open world just refers to the physical dimension and means, that you could theoretically go to most locations right from the start of the game
in practice there is still a certain order as to when you will be where - a certain line that you will always follow
most of all, there is a beginning and an end that is always the same and only the road their varies slightly, but not enough to distinctively leave that line / order / road and reach a completely different end
looking at the other dimensions of a game, in terms of story, gameplay, character development most open world games are close to 100% linear
a non linear game on the other hand is a game that has no fixed beginning or end, i.e. a sandbox
Lets see Skyrim's numbers :^)
>People stop playing single player games after 1-3 playthroughs
Woah...
its a multiplayer game
If it's a multiplayer game, then how the frick did I play it exclusively solo, just like all their games?
By playing by yourself in a multiplayer game
Anon, it's a single-player game with some online elements, implemented in the worst possible ways.
if the base state of the game is single player, then it's single player.
you won't meet a single other person if you don't actively try to, you'll just see their ghosts.
Ok, but it's a multiplayer game. Thats why it has multiplayer.
It's STALKER a multiplayer game?
Ya it has multiplayer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrfINen_IxQ
Don't you have good games to play that you come to troll on Ganker? Guess you're waiting for Ragnarok impatiently, moron
Ganker is also multiplayer
Ha. As someone who played the hell out of the the DaS series PvP, there's no value in bothering with Elden Ring's multiplayer.
The lack of covenants and disconnect issues really killed the interest in pvp imo. Even casual players would at least try pvp if a covenant had a neat reward at X rank or whatever. Maybe any eventual DLC will add some kind of area or some shit that revives it a bit.
i almost never got summoned, was able to summon anybody. elden rings multiplayer is trash. even demon souls on the ps3 was waaaay better networking
People still play Skyrim and WoW. Huge cope
>skyrim
mod sandbox
>wow
mmorpg
the fact that you guys took this moronic obvious bait and gave him a legit reply is sad
>still play
>Skyrim
Skyrim has one of the best modding communities in gaming, nobody plays it vanilla
>WoW
Kids who experienced MMORPG heaven have turned into adults and refuse to let go because of sunk-cost fallacy (also new updates and expansions come out all the time for this one so what the frick is this comparison anyway??)
Not me
I stopped playing after beating it 4 times.
I don't really know what OP wants from me.
DS3 has very little original content.
>Lothric Castle (DaS3) == Boletaria Castle (DeS)
You start the game here, and the climax of the game is here (fighting twin princes/false king allant).
>Karla (DaS3) == Yuria the Witch (DeS)
Karla teaches forbidden hex magic/miracles/pyromancies that channel the power and rage of the abyss, Yuria the Witch teaches forbidden magic that channel the power and rage of demon souls.
> Stormruler (DaS3) == Storm Ruler (DeS)
Used to take down mighty foes with a legendary sword found in the corresponding boss arenas. Yhorm and the Storm King are basically the same type of "puzzle boss" until you find the sword.
Mechanics:
> FP (DaS3) == MP (DeS)
It's literally because the game is around 50% recycled DaS content, 30% recycled DeS content, 10% recycled bloodborne content, and 10% original content.
zoom zoom
>it's the seething DaS 2 contrarian disguising as a DeS fanatic
cringe
>
I didn't realize there was a sword to fight Yhorm until you pointed it out. I would have labeled Yhorm as the worst DS3 boss because I had to hack away at him for 20 minutes or so while he attacks the same way the entire time. I thought they just tried and failed to make a hard boss by giving it high def and lots of health, but it turns out it was just me who was moronic.
That’s pretty funny anon not gonna lie
What's your favorite souls game ?
All Souls game are repetitive to a veteran. If you started with Demons Souls and went on, the series has very few original ideas in terms of atmosphere, locations, characters and mechanisms. The 4th time I walked up to a crestfallen character who laughs nervously after each sentence or a character that laughs maniacally when you release them and then says very little about themselves, or I had to walk off an elevator mid movement to reach a ledge, I realized I was done with Souls.
>elden ring thread
>annoying homosexual starts ranting about DS3
He's just another butthurt Ds2gay. Pay no mind to him.
Also the game is dead somehow, a reality so damning that people are calling it a single player game to cope, despite the previous Souls games also being "single player" and not dying anywhere near this fast.
no anon, you ever think about people that don't post? it's not rocket science, just look at the enemies/bosses combos in elden ring and compare them to those in bloodborne or des/das. try to think for a second
strange how despite the similarities you're trying to pull out of your ass, DeS is a good game while DaS3 sucks ass.
Both are fricking fantastic
3 just happens to be Miyazaki's magnum opus
>roll spam souls 3
Hard pass. Anything aside from DeS, DaS1, and BB is shit.
this probably qualifies as mental illness at this point
Yes and? It's an perpetual online service game. You want them to add marketplaces and non stop nickel and dime dlc?
You cancerous little homosexual.
>the game is doing worse than every other comparable game but im coping so woah
woah
holy shit it still has 10% of its initial players 6 months after release?
thats crazy good
not for a souls game
>DS3 has 2% of its max concurrent players thats only 10% of the max concurrent of elden ring
Stay mad
Do maths please. ER retains roughly 4-5% of its players currently.
Dark Souls multiplayer servers were taken down. No shit the playerbase plummeted.
>DaS 2
>released 2016
>elden cringe
>released 2022
you're not even trying
ds3 has been intentionally sabotaged by from and their lackeys by removing the servers
>holy shit it still has 10% of its initial players 6 months after release?
No, moron. Take the calculator out.
I honestly haven't decided if I dislike ER or DS3 more.
>singleplayer game
>dying
No one beat it.
I did beat it so your statement is wrong.
You're like your console can't run it Tendie, because you would have been filtered so hard that you would be making rage threads here.
2 MM people beating the game is a lot of people.
Even the cheevo rates for some late game optional bosses is pretty high. Surprisingly high, even.
SEÑOR DEL ELDEN
And?
Most people don't beat games. That's not exclusive to the souls games.
It's a multiplayer game you dumb revisionist
multiplayer isnt even opt-out anymore, you literally have no interaction with other players besides messages and bloodstains if you dont want
Numbers are down
Less than 25% has one of the victory achievs.
That's just the average person's attention span at work.
That's surprisingly high considering it's 100+ hours long? 356% of players beat Stray and that game can be finished in about 4 hours tops.
Most people don't finish games, especially hyped releases like elden ring?
>Most people don't finish games, especially hyped releases like elden ring?
Are you confused, child? Why are you ending your statements with ??????? ?
38 % have beaten Loux.
Deserved.
Game's multiplayer is completely barebones and broken (literally, you cannot be connected to another player for more than 2 minutes) compared to the previous games and the singleplayer isn't worth replaying in the slightest.
Maybe now the remaining players will focus on making fun builds, and all the sweat tryhards with their IGN guide have fricked off
How do homosexual OPs get the energy to keep making these gay threads? Is the power of homosexualry that strong? Why cant it be put to use powering the grid?
its genuine mental illness
kek and PC players still don't have DS1~3 to play
I'm playing them just fine
did they enable online for that ?
>Elden Ring has lost over 90% of its players
Who cares. People beat it and move on. It's not meant to retain players as long as they can like some live service garbage.
Man, shazam/tortanic gays really got mindbroken by this game.
>expects players to play the same game forever
I can't wait for summer to be over. The absolute state.
you will go back when summer is over?
Silly anon, summer hasn't gone away since 2014. It's ETERNAL now
What exactly did you expect to happen when people finish a game?
I've heard most people stopped playing Super Mario Bros 1. Never gonna make it.
The game released in February. How long do you expect people to play it? Stop being a twat and offering rent free space to it.
So why is Ganker so obsessed with player counts?
They conflate player numbers to quality - which is ironic when they hate everything that’s popular.
They’re contrarian about being contrarian.
>hurr durr i wonder why a dead playerbase is bad for a multiplayer game???
But we're talking about a single player game?
I don't understand. Shouldn't you be shitposting in the evo thread about whichever kusoge is dead?
Who cares? It's a game you play by yourself right?
lmao this is actually pathetic. imagine thinking this shit was goty. pull up the twitch numbers for a bigger laugh. game is fricking DEAD bro
>posting old images
anyway the pvp and co-op are nonexistant so ofcourse this singleplayer game is gonna bleed thousands of players a day
I am in the club of thinking ER is not that great, but you have unrealistic standards if you think a single player game is not going to shed player count after launch.
>shazamtroony thread n.16479603^12
yawn
So fricking what? It's a mostly single player game people will finish it and move on to other games.
Concurrent players doesn't matter for a single player game you morons
This what happens when you screw over PVPCHADS. Your game dies.
"PVPCHADS" are usually trannies or on their to transitionning. There is nothing to be gained by catering to them.
t. Got his ass handed to him by a naked man with a club in undeadburg and still seething to this day
Elden Ring is a single player not game as a service, it means nothing how many concurrent players are there, only how many copies were sold.
It's a multiplayer game. Sekiro is a single player game.
>It's a multiplayer game.
It's main focus is single player
It's a multiplayer game.
Anyone with a brain knows these games are single player first
It's a multiplayer game.
Man, discord trannies are really desperate to find something against the best selling from software game ever kek.
and it's still gotd
>Steam is the only platform that matters
Once again, the arrogance and ignorance is staggering.
The only point you're making is that the game:
>is not repayable
>has poor multiplayer experience
It's a multiplayer game.
I'm not going to chastise you for using the seamless co-op mod. I don't really understand what you expect as a reply from me.
Nobody forced you to reply. You chose to. It's a multiplayer game.
I didn't say anybody forced me to reply. I simply stated that I do not understand what you would expect as a reply by saying that, which is clear from your typing method that you're attempting to instigate.
It's a multiplayer game.
moron
How is it a multiplayer game if I played it exclusively solo, same as the previous games?
Multiplayer game means it's not singleplayer, which ER is
10% player retention after 6 months is actually insanely good, most mobile games are regarded successful if they retain 10% of their users at the end of the month they come out and they are regarded as service games, and are much more dependent on player retention unlike a single player AAA game with no outside monetization
It's pathetic compared to past Fromsoft games.
pvp is not the main draw of these games, it's meant as a companion to the whole experience, where sometimes you might get invaded, the people who play these games as pvp games are a very small minority, and they most likely went back to dark souls where the competition is at its highest
I never specified anything specific.
I'm going to assume you're the OP, because nobody else could be so fricking dumb as to not understand why it's important to state the nature of the game when talking about player retention.
It is in line with other games. The only one that didn't drop like a rock is DS2.
I had no idea Elden Ring was an mmo, might have to check it out.
Translation for those who are not subhumans: 90% of the players have completed the game in every facet after 7 months and are now playing other games while they wait for dlc.
ok
Smash lost 100% on steam
watch ER fanboys in delusion trying to defend this with their excuses
ds1 kept its playerbase for years after the release and not just because ds1 had pvp
reddit ring is a mediocre game but redditors on Ganker won't admit it
stop sucking fromsoftware dick gays
All time peak for das is 12k, for ER it's 900k moron
Can't even shitpost right
>a game made in a time when gaming is mainstream is more popular than a game made in a time when gaming was a niche
really captain obvious, you dont say?
>2011
>niche
Kys
the amount of people invested in gaming in 2011 was nothing compared to today, gamergate fiasco didn't even happened
now go choke on reddit ring wiener a little more
Not being as big as it is now doesn't mean "niche"
the difference was still enormous compared to today, which makes the argument "elden ring peaked more players so its better" completely retaraded
You haven't even played the game, it shows.
and I think that you don't even care about this game you just wanna shitpost, about it.
assumptions are not an argument
concession accepted.
>sisters still going
what the fug
What the frick went wrong? This wasn't supposed to happen...
Its the game of the year, its going to have people needlessly hating on it. Where have you been this discord has been doing this for 5-6 months straight at this point.
They got mindbroken by the game, it isn't our problem though.
it's a shit game. I'm an exploration gay so I manage to have fun anyway but it's a dog shit game with copy paste elements everywhere. even fricking genshin has better exploration
Yeah its a really amazing game, probably going to get GOTY awards left and right.
Glad you liked it anon, going for platinum is cool.
stray is gona have goty not elden ring
i will take this post as 100% proven truth and fact since there is still no way yet to post a screenshot of someone else's video game completion percentage
>thread #5721 where I pretend not to understand that not every game is a GaaS MMO gacha zoomefest
Now the hype has finally died, can we just agree how disappointing the game was?
Its a 10/10, I just got it. Maliketh was an insane fight.
>Maliketh was an insane fight.
Maliketh was unironically a joke fight. He has no HP, his moves are easy as frick, and he dies in seconds.
Yeah it was a really good fight I loved the build up. I had no idea he was Gurranq. That twist got me good.
This is a shitpost.
I don't know why you'd tell me but okay.
NTA but I guess it's because the game outright tells you that he is Maliketh once you bring him enough Deathroots. Still it's easily missable if you are not a completionist
Bring him deathroots? what are those?
I'm not telling you, I'm commenting on the fact that your posts are memes and not real opinions that anyone holds.
I beat it 3 times and put in over 300 hours. There is only so much replayability.
>normalgays jump from one meme bandwagon to the next when its time is up
Truly shocking.
OP here, I realized it doesnt even have a battlepass?
wow these devs are sus, no cap fr fr
It's a single player game. People play those, enjoy themselves, finish it and move on. Aside from speedrunners of course.
It's multiplayer games where people have 10k+ hours that are the problem.
>b-but souls has pvp
only a small handful of turbohomosexuals care about that
test
Still more than Elden Ring used to have, and that game remained excellent.
While I don't really mind them much, I certainly don't need hordes of normalgays playing the games I enjoy.
Did Bamco fix Dark Souls on PC yet? I'd rather replay DS1 and 3 than Elden Ring
You mean the online? No they haven't as far as I know. I'm assuming they have no intention of turning it back on.
So basically...money stolen?
The games are perfectly fine without other players
I know, PvP is trash, but I do like reading signs and seeing ghosts of other players and sometimes even coop, if they just turned off one of the most iconic features of the series that means they scammed the players
No they didn't. You still have your game.
I wouldn't say that myself because honestly I don't summon other players and I don't enjoy being invaded or seek out PvP because it's dumb. But if that's why you play Souls games, then I suppose you're fricked.
No, you still have the product.
I have beat it 5 times and won 1000 duels what the frick else do you want me to do
The "omg it's hard!!!" gimmick can only carry you so far if the game itself has no proper content.
Noooo. Noooooo!! This is a call to action. Every anon go start elden ring right now! Leave the game idling when ever your not playing another game! Together we can save the ELDEN RING!!!!
How many players did Dragon's Dogma lose up until today? 99%? And that shit is still getting a sequel. Ridiculous.
Its a discord peddling 99% of it.
These threads always die when anons tell others its just a discord raid kek.
maybe because its not a discord raid?
people have other things to do, other boards and threads to visit
if this was an actual discord raid, they wouldn't stop just because you ""exposed"" them
Its a discord raid though. Always has been.
Yeah and all your problems and shortcomings are becuz da jooz
what's the best fromsoft game? be honest
Cookie & Cream
Bloodborne or Sekiro
Correct.
Bloodborne Or Sekiro compete for best FromSoft game so far.
Just in terms of fun and jank, I like Metal Wolf Chaos.
I think Sekiro is a near-perfect game.
My favorite is Bloodborne, but I also like Chalice Dungeons so you can take that with a grain of salt.
you're gonna defeat Elden Ring one day, don't ever give up
Oh shit guys
Mario Brothers on the NES has lost 99% of its players
Oh
>Elden Ring has keep over 90% of its haters
GOTY comfirmed
Game is ok at best, dk y ppls make big deal out of it
It needs an expansion, bro.
I'm actually waiting for the Elden Ring Reforged mod to be completed before diving in again. It's looking like a massive overhaul that will change the way you play the game.
Post yfw Shazam won
I kneel
Won?
cool
damn today you guys sure are busy uh?
It's Over Ring.
>single player game is out for more than 5 months
>most players finished it and move on
Amazing. Almost mindblowing i'd say.
How is this a big deal? It's a single player game.
the game is good but it suffers from problems open world RPGs almost always do, especially open world RPGs with action combat.
I beat the game about 4 times and had around 400 hours in the first month
I don’t feel like playing it again until DLC comes
It's a very overrated game. Miyazaki obviously had little to do with it and is focused on something else. I don't blame him though, he has to be tired of making the same game over and over. Hopefully Armored Core is breasts.
hopefully. weren't the last few armed core games shit though?
yet it still has more daily threads than wow. amazing
no wonder why I never get to see any sign or being able to invade anyone except once in the last weeks
people are probably using the anti invasion multiplayer mod
oh great, what fricking shithead made this? WTF?
Someone who does not want to deal with invaders?
why buy the game then? That's moronic, just select offline. Ruins the game
Because he wants to see the phantoms and messages and just play without having to deal with kids?
I personally haven't bought a game in over 16 years, so no MP, but had I actually bought the game, I wouldn't want to be bothered while playing
>kids
Black person what are you talking about
The only people I can think of that would be mad they can't invade are kids, sorry if I'm wrong
The only people that would cry about invasions in a souls game are women.
well, you are 100% wrong and a dumbass
>Buy game
>Ruin it for everyone by modding out essential elements
Good job dipshit
But someone getting invaded might think invasions ruin his game.
>essential elements
MP was always a poorly implemented afterthought
It is part of the game, impossible to ruin anyone's game. What's next? Warzone with no other players?
>kids
because they finished the game, dumbass
Are you surprised? The game is absolute normiecore garbage and was marketed out the ass so a lot of people bought the game out of hype but barely got a quarter in much less completed several playthroughs or played online
Video games are casual as frick now, people buy them to feel like they're a part of something, not to play them
Almost every game ever made was never beaten by the vast vast vast majority of players that bought it. Achievements prove this.
I'm waiting to get back to it since I burnt myself out with rerollitis, when's the DLC? They gonna pull a Sekiro on us again?
Yeah? Its a 6 month old single player game
>single player game that has been out for several months with no new content has less players
I'm absolutely shocked
>Haven't played ER in months
>Hmm lets load up at start a new build
>Two hand halberd, no sheild
>See first NPC
>Hmm lets kill him, I already did his quest before
>Invasion items, cool
>Pop one at The First Step
>Guy with endgame gear, Rivers of Blood
>Die to weapon art before I even realize it
>Oh, they're still doing this
>Lose all interest in the game immediately
The community killed it
I was the only one that adored soul memory because no twink gays
God's mercy on you for being such a moron.
When you can edit the save with a fingersnap, memory just made honest players experience a nightmare.
Oh wow, homosexuals cheat? WOW WOWOW
I guess they LITERALLY CANT CHEAT if soul memory didnt exist. Just remove soul memory and cheaters will never exist again for the rest of humanity.
Meds.
I've hit people with fully charged MLGS R2s just because they decided not to roll after the first slashes missed.
this unfortunately.
a buddy and I were repeatedly invaded by the same homosexual using a typical cookie cutter build.
we died to it once and learned his bullshit
then when we had him on the run (and OH FRICKING BOY is there so much room to run) he would b***h out only to invade us again with full resources.
the invasion mechanic in ER either needs fleshing out completely or removed completely.
>singleplayer game
>"losing players"
>after 7 months
>7 months of being a worldwide phenomenon and bestseller
>but this singleplayer game with MP options is now fully a multiplayer game because I'm a PVP autist
You losers.
game
Its multiplayer tho
Explain how I was able to beat the game offline?
by not playing the multiplayer portion of a multiplayer game
>by not playing the multiplayer portion of a multiplayer game
Do you even make sense of what you just said?
woah, do single player games really??
well fromsoft completely destroyed the pvp aspect, so there is no reason to stick around after beating the game a few times.
Only Smash threads seems to rival the autism on display in ER shitposting threads
well deserved to be GOTY too
>Hey I want to play this game's open world with friends
>TOS TOS PLAY BROKEN PVP
God why must people be such cry babies
Remember the guy obsessed with the FO4 lone wander perk working with dogmeat?
No, it's
>hey I want to trivialize the game and avoid intended consequence and consequently worsen the game for everyone else
The guy who made the rant has a point
>worsen the game for everyone else
*a tiny group of players so reviled that no one plays with them
After like 6 months? Still has 40k on steam and who knows more on consoles?
For a single player game that's great.
>caring about player numbers in a single player game
I wonder ~~*who*~~ is behind this
Kind reminder that Ganker is a souls board.
https://strawpoll.com/polls/kjn1jKaoGgQ/results
Am I really in a minority? Did everyone play Souls game?
Yep.
>Discord raiders still failing to make the game fail
lol
lmao
Interesting. I thought there was more lurkers who just wanna see the shitposting.
What a game not being on the BING BING WAHOO tablet does to nintencultists
Why are you still trying as if you homosexuals weren't caught trying to cause a war between zelda and ER fans.
>Did everyone play Souls game?
Yes. Ganker used to make really great comics about demon souls/ds1 back before it got popular and therefore wasn't cool to talk about anymore.
no wonder is the worst board on Ganker, it's infested with obnoxious gen z who never played anything else except DS3 and ER
>How's Hatsune pedo simulator treating you
treating me wonderfully, thank you
>buy game
>play game
>beat/quit game
>move on
That's what the vast majority of people do with every single player game.
It's very rare for people to keep playing through over and over again, such a thing is only reserved for autists, record seekers, and bored video game streamers.
But Fromtroons keep saying ER has a lot of replayability
It does, but replayability only matters to autists.
>game is either replayed by %100 of it's players or 0%
why are trannies like this
Why would anyone continue to play it?
Anything after the first playthrough just feel like a chore. Needing to navigate in the giant empty map.
I like to perfect the boss fighting, to make new characters with different builds, to enjoy the duels at Raya Lucaria and sometimes invade some other people.
I do the same for literally every single from game with the exception of sekiro for obvious reasons. In elden ring it just feels like a chore.
And that's where we differ my man.
Literally a you problem. I don't like DS1 but I dont make long rambling schizo posts about it.
>I don't like DS1
you have shit taste then. Opinion discarded.
normal for a single player game, fricking moron.
It would be catastrophic for a multiplayer game, like i dont kow BF2042
Well yeah, we all played it for 300+ hrs and went back to work lmao.
How's Hatsune pedo simulator treating you
The worst part about this game is that 99% of the time the rewards are completely useless, to the point where it almost feels insulting. Fighting through a dungeon only to get a smoldering butterfly or some shit at the end, its absurd. It'd be much better if the treasures you earn were actually cool.
It's so fricking boring and empty and what little content they put there is obsessively repeated throughout the game. And I don't give a flying shit about this one's story at all; the devs have gone full late-stage Nolan filmmaking on us
>empty
You haven't played the game
106 hours in with everything but haligtree 100%ed, suck my wiener and enjoy your 2-mile long cavern in the wall that ends with a ctrl-v boss and a companion ash
Then if you really 100% it you'd know the world is stupidely packed with shit to do and find, if anything, there's way too much content
That or you missed everything. Game is full of issues but being empty isn't one of them
ah yes, I'm so happy to fight generic pack of mobs #68 that's guarding a chest containing 3 mushrooms
Some people are naive enough to think copy paste rooms and enemies hold the same amount of value as well constructed ones.
To add to what this guy said, in DaS3 you at least had weapon arts unique to new weapons, making them feel special to collect, but in ER the ashes of war have to be searched for separately and even when you do find them they are poorly balanced, with the majority feeling boring and useless, and a select few being significantly OP to use that you would always just pick them
>stupidely packed with shit to do and find
>with shit
100% as well.
You're full of shit.
>People finish single-player game and move on
Nothing wrong with that. And yes, ER multiplayer sucks. Invasiongays can go frick themselves.
>Played through blind
>Made 2 other builds and played through the game
>Made a low level pvp character
>Got to Haligtree at level 20
>Made a character specifically to kill early game bosses and invade people to drop end-game weapons like rotten crystal spears, beast greatswords, and flame monk weapons if they aren't ganksquad homosexuals
Still having a pretty good time with the game, all things considered.
Are you a seething Tendie?
>beat Demon's Souls/Dark Souls/Dark Souls 2/Dark Souls 3
>play it again with a new build
>play it again with a new build
>play it again with a new build
>etc
>beat Elden Ring
>play it again with a new build
>get board having to ride around through the bland overworld constantly
>tons of copy paste dungeons sap my will to live
>quit
>Beat Dark Souls 3
>Play it again with a new build
>Get bored having to walk through the bland overworld constantly
>Tons of copy paste soldiers sap my will to live
>Quit
This is me rn, I really really wanted to do NG+ in Elden Ring but I completely lost interest and moved on to other souls games.
Are people supposed to keep playing this game after they finish the story?
They did for Dark Sous 1, 2 and 3.
Or at least they used to before the servers got shut down lol
Did they now?
Anon there's literally a bar graph that you can compare to the bar graph in the OP in your picture
streamers stopped playing it so the npcs( pc players) stopped too
That's still more players than whatever your favorite game is on Steam
Yet has retained 90% of it's autistic hate posters.
This is normal. A lot of people buy From ganes but only a minority even finish them, let only keep playing them.
>normalBlack folk eventually get bored of annual le epic superhard and trendy souls game ever made again
Color me surprised
I'm not knocking the game, but normal Black folk are scum who hype up everything, its gonna happen again anyways like always
>Single player game with a campaign that ends
>Complete the game
Wow shit I'm a genius!! I figured out why people stop playing the game after they finished it!! You guys are absolutely moronic ameriBlack folk and I am now your god!
ok but when are the servers from the other souls games are coming back
you make this thread every other day for what? its a primarily single player game that still has nearly 50k people still playing it several months later, how is this a bad thing?
elden ring has more players than monster hunter rise/sunbreak and that came out like a month ago and is mostly played with multiplayer lmao
Game literally punishes you for playing multiplayer. Bosses are much easier solo with summons.
Those numbers are fricking huge for a single player game.
have a nice day with such a dunce cap bait.
Invaders running out of hosts to invade on PC is hilarious.
>single player game
>not a live service
>people play the game and move on after 6 months
pvp trannies cope and seeth
It's not even PVPgays, I feel sorry for duelists and fight clubbers that get shit on because of invaders. Do invaders even count as PVPgays when they specifically hate fighting experienced players?
Invaders don't hate fighting experienced players, invaders hate consent
45'000 playing an hour ago. Is that low or high compared to most games a month after launch?
Bloodborne > Sekiro > Elden Ring > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls 1 = Demon Souls > Dark Souls 2.
ded game
ur ded game!
Haven't played Elden Ring but is it true that they deleted the handcrafted levels and turned the majority of the main game content into copy pasted chalice dungeons?
How could anyone enjoy that?
>is it true that they deleted the handcrafted levels and turned the majority of the main game content into copy pasted chalice dungeons?
... no? Where the frick did you see that lmao
Single player game play counts going down only matters when it's a game Ganker hates
Show me 5 single player games that have better player retention
Literally what do you want from me? To play nothing but elden ring until the day I die?
Ds3 is soulless garbage despite being the most soild game from a technical standpoint .
I can barley remember any of it despite beating it twice and putting In 150ish hours, just that the starting longsword was op and made finding other weapons pointless
BB>DS1>ER>Ds2>Ds3
i wanna play it more but i feel bad for spending 300+ hours in it already
i wanted to prioritize work this year ;-;
ShazamBlack folk will never ever get over it
does steam count modded ER too? That's how I've been playing it
This gets posted for every single game that comes out with a large marketing budget.
Does anyone know the marketing company posting this trash? They sit here bumping the thread pretending to have a conversation with each other, and it's annoying to see the fake controversy
