The Elden Ring has been the center of the world since the beginning of time according to Hyetta, who describes it as a golden star "breaking" the singularity of the world that the frenzied flame seeks to return to one.
In the age of Farum Azula, that was how the Elden Ring looked with 4 more rings, several other arcs and other differences.

Because you can create or remove runes from the Elden Ring, it's presumed that many of those Runes from Placidusax's rule were removed by Marika when she established the Golden Order as the new faith.

Where they went who knows, but I think they either became or were used to become the Outer Gods.

Her plan was to frick a lot and have lots of Chad children whose Chad descendants she would also frick. Godwyn was gay so she got rid of him.

    >What was Marika's plan
To topple the structure of the GW.
    >Was she involved with Godwyn's death
Hard to say, the Black Knives were Numen from the Eternal City. Marika is of the same race and her goals aligned with theirs in terms of fighting the GW.
    >Did she give the shards to the demigods personally
She gave them to her kids or they somehow got a hold of a shard each. They were told to do something or become sacrifices, probably referring to how the Fingers started working to replace her which would involve killing her children.

Granted, Marika was guiding the player the entire time through Grace, so perhaps the various decisions her children made were the wrong ones.

The Black Knives were working with Miquella, who had talked their brother Godwyn into undergoing a ritual that would make Godwyn into the new God of Death.
All the Black Knives are immune to sleep, which is entirely related to St Tirna/Miquella
Ranni was just the intermediary who made the knives, realized what Miquella was up to, and hijacked the ritual to get the Fingers off her back.

But Miquella tried to undo what happened to Godwyn, in castle Sol there's a ghost that laments to Miquella that his plan to save Godwyn via the eclipse failed.

Vaati has historically sat in Ganker threads and mined our interpretations, mainly because Reddit comes up with incredibly autistic things like "Marika is actually a silver tear that lives inside Radagon" or some shit.

Marika and Radagon always beeing the same person does not make sense
When married to Godfrey and Renala neither would notice?
Radagon is Marika is a clear copy of the Rebis the alchemical perfect being, but in Elden Ring Marika and Radagon are in oposition not in harmony
it make more sense that when Marika banished Godfrey, the fingers forced her to marry Radagon "Loyal Hound of the Golden Order" to keep her in check

Radagon is personality wise, what Marika should have been. The Golden Order is her religion. The entire world bows before the Erdtree because of her.

Yet in the end, she forsook her godhood and broke the ring?
It's like their personalities swapped, especially considering Radagon bears the traits associated with ruin.

Marika was a goddess and she wanted to godhood for all eternity. To do this she sealed death away in a rune and yeeted it out to a temple the sky.

Eventually one day one demigod didn't want to godhood anymore so she stole the death rune and did a weird thing so her godly body would die but her godly soul remained and transplanted it to a puppet that's also immortal. This causes the victim to sort of die but not quite. Still this was severe enough to cause and uproar among gods.

Marika threw a b***h fit about it, shattered the ring that wrote the foundation and rules of the universe, and her children and half children all began warring over the pieces.

And here we are, years later after warring. Many warriors were brought to the lands between to try to unfrick this frickup, however only one person is able to see the walkthrough of the game, (you).

She wasn't a goddess. She was a mortal human female one of a labely priestesses in the age of death goddesss - GEQ. Death rune was always in the elden ring..

it's clearly stated she is a goddess
because she holds the Elden Ring inside her
and only Empyrians can receive the Elden Ring and become Gods

          being empyrian ==being goddess
Look at a statues of priestesses. Marika was one of the them before she banished the death goddess to become life goddess.

the gloam eyed queen was never a goddess
Marika probably had her killed because she could replace her as the vessel of the Elden Ring if the 2 fingers wished so

she was. look at pre golden order death rites with burning bodies, death birds and even in farum azula's depiction of the elden ring the main rune is the death rune. she was placidusax's god. the god of the death.

How did Maliketh, without the Rune of Death, defeat the Gloam Eyed Queen if she was a Goddess then?

Gloam eyed is only ever referred to as an empyrean. I don't think she was Placidusax's goddess, rather when the goddess fled the Elden Ring was left wanting and two empyreans stepped forward.

Gloam Eyed was likely supporting the outer god associated with death though in the same way Marika supported the Erdtree.

      >Marika shattered the ring because Godwyn was dead
The Black Knives are associated with a civilization that hated the GW so much they feared sunlight. Marika was being slated to be replaced, likely by Ranni, or possibly even by Godwyn himself which may be a motive for his death.

By breaking the ring and handing its pieces out to her children, they could benefit from its power while the GW could no longer dictate reality and so it fricked off.
However Radagon was obviously very opposed to this and with the aid of the Elden Beast kept Marika imprisoned as punishment. Marika's children ended up kind of fricking themselves up in the shattering so there was no one left that could free her from this imprisonment. Radagon also not wanting to be replaced as Elden Lord, used the Erdtree as a "hostage" by having it seal himself in meaning no one loyal to the golden order (Such as Morgott) could free her.

So Marika called on the Tarnished to fulfill the task of getting her out

woman moment, this is why Gideon went mad. He figured out there was no fricking plan

It's not exactly that there is no plan, as much as that tarnished ones aren't supposed to acutually enter the erdtree and become elden lords, as much as Godfrey is supposed to become Elden Lord again and tarnished ones have no real place other than fodder.
