Thanks! OP was dumb and didn't complete his word. >OP: noooo! It was a literary device, by suppressing the last word I was actually denoting the idea of surprise by having my argument contradicted by reality
lol u gay
In the case of handhelds it's not even a question. I'd much rather play on a GB300 or something over an original Game Boy Pocket with no backlight or rechargeable battery.
Isn't that standard for rechargeable batteries though? Standard batteries also start out at 1.5 but drop in voltage as they are used up. Rechargeable batteries stay at 1.2 volts until they run out of power.
It's not superior. Its authentic. Authentic is better than 'better'.
In order to have the authentic Super Mario experience, you must >throw your emulation machine out the window. >grow a moustache >complete an apprenticeship as a plumber >go into the forest and stomp on some real authentic mushrooms.
Authentically shit, I still own my Gameboy Colour, anytime I've turned it on in the last 5 years the shitty screen has reminded me exactly why I have no interest in playing through the games on it again.
No, Worm Lights were known to be worse than those light-up magnifying glass things (forgot their names) that had their own separate batteries, but I think they stopped making those by the time GBC came out. So, we were all stuck with Worm Lights at that point plus they look cool
Emulation often improves on the real thing. Personally, my way of keeping it 'authentic' is to use a similar controller to the original console. My drawer is full of controllers with adapters.
Does it make any sense to get a gb/gbc if you already have gba? Kind of getting autistic about the cartridge size but then again that didnt bother me back in the day.
Wtf is that? It's seems like Mario is karting on a png color chart. Look you can upscale all you want, I think it's nice to have this freedom, just don't call it an "improvement". At most, it's "different", a way to cater to younger players.
ng.
new game?

Yeah, this. Stop using worn out thread templates like this, OP. Particularly ones borrowed from Ganker and other equally awful boards.
>still coping because they wasted hundreds of dollars on shitty original hardware
lol never gets old.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA THAT JOKE IS SO FUNNY NO ONE'S EVER MADE IT BEFORE HAHAJHAHHAHAHHA
Seconding this. Had to stop and laugh for a few minutes myself.
I don't say this lightly - there is literally nothing in the entire universe that is worse than HAHAHAposters.

No one's said that anon
They say it's not as good as the real thing
True, it's usually better.
wow LCD screens can look like LCD screens?
In the case of handhelds it's not even a question. I'd much rather play on a GB300 or something over an original Game Boy Pocket with no backlight or rechargeable battery.
But you can't see shit with that under the sun, you are supposed to play the gameboy outside, like I did when I was young
>rechargeable battery
i've been using the same 4 eneloops for like 15 years
Are those pre-charged, rechargeable, ready-to-use Eneloop™ batteries, which capacity remains at 70% after 5 years?
The biggest problem with these are that they are 1.2v as opposed to 1.5v of standard AA's
Isn't that standard for rechargeable batteries though? Standard batteries also start out at 1.5 but drop in voltage as they are used up. Rechargeable batteries stay at 1.2 volts until they run out of power.
Just saying rechargeable batteries won't last as long as alkaline ones
>buy eneloop pros
>charge to full
>put them in my Quest 3 controllers
>70% from the offset
Meme product that discharge in about 3 weeks if you leave them sitting
crazy how good modern rechargeable AAs are, wish they were that good when I was a kid
but ur iPad didn't use AAs tho
>/vr/ will try to convince you into thinking that this is the superior experience
It's not superior. Its authentic. Authentic is better than 'better'.
for it to be really authentic you need your parents screaming at each other in the other side of the house
>sound of glass breaking in the distance
Ahhh, good times
So sorry you experienced that.
In order to have the authentic Super Mario experience, you must
>throw your emulation machine out the window.

the dot matrix looks great but the colours aren't right and it's way too clear. ghosting would just look like a cheap shader effect. hard pass.
this is the most accurate thing about this entire thread.
I don't know why I'm nostalgic for a shit childhood
Because your shit manchildhood is even worse?
Authentic sadly majority of the time is nostalgic cope, nothing wrong with that but that's what it is.
Authenticity is a spook
>Authentic is better than 'better'.
Nah cope.
Authentically shit, I still own my Gameboy Colour, anytime I've turned it on in the last 5 years the shitty screen has reminded me exactly why I have no interest in playing through the games on it again.
Try thinking for yourself sometime.
Authentic has its historical value for context. Better is just simply better though. Inarguable.

>gbc+wormlight+silver
endless bedtime hours were spent this way and i have no regrets.
No, Worm Lights were known to be worse than those light-up magnifying glass things (forgot their names) that had their own separate batteries, but I think they stopped making those by the time GBC came out. So, we were all stuck with Worm Lights at that point plus they look cool

100% right. I can play GT2 with my G29 thanks to emulation.
Super Mario Land will always be a garbage game, nothing could improve it.
Does it make any sense to get a gb/gbc if you already have gba? Kind of getting autistic about the cartridge size but then again that didnt bother me back in the day.
super mario land best video game soundtrack of all time
still just pretending to play the games
while owning nothing, pretending to be happy
MANY such cases, sad.
I own my harddrives with gigabytes of video games and shows, what are you talking about?
You own nothing
I own all that data
you are coping
M2 is one company that provides emulations that are better than the real thing.
can never improve on the real thi-
Anon, nobody says that. Of course emulators can improve games.
Many argue that the vast majority of software emulators are not accurate, and they are not if that's what you care about.
Soulless

Playing on a pixelated png color chart is no better.
Emulation on a jailbreaking console is the only soulful
If the glare of the sun isn't making the screen impossible to see, it just isn't authentic.
