Can someone clue me in to the Retroarch drama? It's been like a decade since I downloaded any new emulators for anything, and I have no idea what the big deal is about Retroarch in emulation circles I've returned to.
Once Retroarch hits Steam, there will literally be no excuse. Me included. I'm too fricking dumb to understand how it works, how to make it work, and people would rather spend their time laughing at me than actually showing me how to use it.
annoyingly the only problem I have with retroarch is it doesn't seem to work with my ps4 controller, I just set up a joytokey thing for snes and it's fine but no idea how to sort it out
The "filter" (it's actually a shader) is probably fine the native resolution he's playing it at. CRT shaders look great at their native resolutions/bitrates but rarely compress well.
Currently emulating Tales of Destiny for psx on my switch. Got a little bummed out when I found out the original japanese version has skits which never got translated.
I like how triggered nu-pirates get at the mere mention of ZSnes. That UI was top comfy and it ran on a potato, I don't give a frick if some random game game only released in India has sounds issues with it.
It's an interesting little fighting game for what was originally a pack-in game for a CG movie. I just wish the series got more love. Been watching SIGN and really enjoying it.
That was a series of RPGs I rented back in the day, they were really strange because they were pretending to be MMOs when MMOs were already a thing and I had FFXI account on my PS2 already. It was very strange getting the real MMO experience from FFXI and then renting .Hack where it was still pretending MMOs were a thing of the future.
>PC Engine Popful Mail is better than the Sega CD version >b***h to emulate because the emu needs to support the arcade card which was a hardware peripheral and few emus do >still locks up at a certain cutscene in any emu I can manage to run it in, even ones that are said to supposedly run the game right
I swear nothing out there can play this game properly.
I finally got Open PS2 Loader to work again, and tested out Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and San Andreas. Both have worked near perfectly, so it looks like I can now play pretty much any PS2 game on original hardware within a few hours. The LCD is kind of shitty but I'm hoping to get a CRT this week to replace it.
Is there any less popular game you guys would recommend? I've already played the same 'top 50 games' everyone usually suggests.
I know you're just trying to piss off emugays but I beat Sweet Home a while back.
>pcsx2 configuration drama thread
>NOOOOOO I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO BIOS, HELP MEEEEEEE
seiken densetsu 3
i'm at the end but want to get the best armor and weps and this whole planting seeds shit
yeah that's usually where I give up
gonna try to finish it this time
Lise, Hawk, Carlie so nothing super amazingly difficult.
Gonna start DQ IV
I'm finally playing Earthbound and I'm having a blast. On zsnes, of course
If you still aren't using Retroarch at this point then what the hell is your excuse?
I still have some self respect
I use Retroarch to have input methods stay consistent across platforms, but Big Box is the frontend I use
How much space does artwork and screenshots take up? I've thought about installing art for my VITA but I'm trying to conserve space on my 125gb SD.

It has a lot of great features but you need an IQ higher than 5 to use it.
popular = bad, typical Ganker sentiment
"XMB has it's downsides", that's 90% of the arguments against it.
The UI is made for consoles and is shittastic for desktop use and curating your library.

Use DS4windows.
I have that on my pc, playing on my laptop, and it's honestly more of a hassle than just using joytokey.

Horrible fricking filter.

No soul
Skyroads (DOS)
Translation fricking WHEN? I'm enjoying the game, but not understanding Japanese makes it kinda hampering that enjoyment.
>this year
>continuing your existence as EOP
zsnes master race, been using it for over 15 years.
any expert at emulation such as myself knows that BSNES or at least snes9x at the bare minimum is the way to go

I just got Sega CD working in Retroarch, what a fricking pain. Going to sleep and starting Snatcher when I wake up.
Tryinv to get a HeartGold nuzlocke run going, but the pokemon encounters early on fricking suck.

Also Virtua Fighter 5.
Oh god, you can actually see the motion blur. Here's a different shot.

True, but the MMO elements are pretty much secondary to the story. "The World" being an MMO is a framing device.

Have you considered the possibility that you might have a bad dump of the game?
What game is that? I thought it was kings field from the thumbnail but it most certainly is not.
Shadow Tower Abyss. There's even an English translation patch for it and it's rather well done. Just make sure you adjust the controls.
What
said.
I found that control type 4 works the best for me, since it maps attack keys to L1/L2/R1/R2 and also maps camera controls to the right stick.
I'm about 5 hours in so far and I'm loving the creepy, claustrophobic atmosphere and difficulty.
Goemon.
No thanks tomthat pedophile Kurt Kalata.

Valkyrie Profile 2 because emugays can't play it.
What sorta games are you looking for?
