They don't like the games they run, they never play them casually, they never learn the game or try to find new straits. Meka always played on hardest difficulty and did every non marathon safe strat he could. You don't see that too often anymore. And the fact that Meka can full that off in the games he runs and that other anon said he had that many runs denied while the shit he complains about get accepted, I kind of understand why he did what he did now. In the meantime the speedrunning community has lost itself trying to chase world records and leaderboards top spots. Basically noone gives a shit about speedrunning for the sake of speedrunning, the enjoyment and the love of games ( only a few really do). So you end up with a community blinded by records and leaderboards and marathons that just try to be giant circlejerks and unfunny entertainment celebrations. Catching up on the Worms Armageddon run, and jesus frick that runner has the whole thing calculated.
It's nice watching runs of people that actually know their shit.
That and plenty of backup strats without resorting to Let's Playing it until things are back on script.
Only thing that'd have made it even better is if he was a roping god. Plenty of opportunities for spikes or flings to save probably a couple minutes off the overall run, but he plays it safe every time.

The makers of [Plum's Game] could have made the actual game way more cemented by doing a different music video for this event. I know it would've cost a lot more, but it would have paid off by making the actual game and not just the character popular.
The Plum video succeeds except in marketing the game she's from, in that it's an utter failure.
They made a separate video that has the game's release date (September 1st), some gameplay, and some interview with couple of developers. However, it's not nearly as eye (or ear) catching as the Plum video, so it's probably gonna fly over people's heads.
