Ranked/Competitive gaming is a trap to waste the competitive nature of young men on a corporate hamster wheel. It exists to waste potential and keep people hooked on a product with the illusion that what they're doing matters in any way beyond just recreation. All of these games just have you chasing this arbitrary carrot on a stick forever with xp systems, ranking, periodic loot, fomo shit, etc. It's all just meant to frick people's heads and keep them on the hook. This shit is even creeping into modern single player games because they can't compete with the multiplayer crack addiction unless there's a constant stream of dopamine.
Just sit down and play a real single player game that genuinely interests you, without being concerned over whether there's any hype or social significance. Play something you actually have to think about, that isn't just twitch reaction and adrenaline, or going from waypoint to waypoint mindlessly completing arbitrary tasks, like every fricking open world game now.
