You llterally only need 5 dudes with phones to shill entire days on Ganker. That's like 2k a week lol. It's literally free advertising and look at how it worked out, the board has been unusable ever since.
>small dev
The CEO is a billionaire who used to work for JP Morgan and was a cryptobro (hence his interest in AI). Just because his team is small doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the resources to hire a thousand pajeets to shill his shovelware.
stuff gets shilled every time by big AAA companiew, these were kamikaze devs with 10 people dreaming about going big, shut the frick up, that's not why
Meme marketing
Word of mouth
Controversy
Nintenbabies shitting and pissing themselves so much that Nintendo had to release a statement telling them to shut the frick up
Insanely good word of mouth
And most importantly, the game is fun and irreverent.
Open world survival games are a cheap dopamine fix, skinner box like an MMO but lower cost and effort.
It's got cute and cuddly creatures to give it a style that yet another dreary or yet another vaguely medieval open world survival game lacks.
Pretty sure open world survival game + gacha waifus would make gangbusters too
I kept telling the temtem devs that they should've put guns in the game and used a more contemporary "epic game" logo style, but they just wouldn't listen!
Gamers have been mindbroken by the relentless torrent of garbage released by triple A devs and will play awful games like Palworld in a contrarian effort to pretend they're still having fun.
In all honesty it doesn't make any sense for this game to be even half that popular. I mean yeah it's Pokemon on PC, but it doesn't have the Pokemon trademark to boost it's sales. There's nothing on the gameplay that makes it better than actual beasts like Baldur 3 and Elden Ring, but then again I also don't think that CSGO and PUBG deserve their spot on the top.
Wouldn't be surprised if they botted the playerbase. Lost Ark had the same happen and Steam did nothing about it.
fun
people want a good pokemon game even if it means playing a shit tier babys first unreal engine project
the power of shilling
How did such a small dev get this much marketing strength?
it was done for free by tendie cultists themselves

Why is no one else doing this? Even BG3 wasn't this effective.

Asmongold.
Im enjoying it after I paid money for it
shocking concept

It appears the mania is over based on your chart. It already peaked.
Yeah that's probably true.
Goyslop: Vidya Edition
this isn't the pokemon thread
The Elite wants a Pornicide and it's working splendidly.
Did that anon eat his hat?

I believe it's called a "trend" doctor.
2.2 million. we can do it.

people have asked for a 3d/open world pokemon forever, it's a massive failure on nintendo/gamefreaks part for not capitalizing.
Even if they made one, it would literally not have been available on any of the platforms where people bought Palworld.
sure, but the hype would be lessened if it was known as an inferior imitation. currently it's better than every modern pokemon game
This. Palworld is the Pokemon game that everyone who grew up with the franchise wanted.
26 dollars
FOTM
I can't believe people itt think that shilling x game on Ganker will make it a success. Are you seriously that fricking moronic ? Holy frick
They're schizophrenic, anon. They literally can't help themselves.
I remember when I thought shooting Pokemon with guns was fun. Then I turned 12 years old
Tons of vtubers picked it up so their viewers would try for themselves too
It's also like 3000 yen in Japan which is like 20 bux
Does it run on mom's old Macbook?
Millions of flies around a big pile of shit
Its open world Pokemon on PC, only a moron would not be able to realize whats driving the sales.
I literally can't. The game was pretty fun but I have no idea how it got so popular overnight.
They marketed to china because chinese actually buy games
It can't just be that it's a Pokemon clone.
temtem is a moronic name
One game is called They/Them
The other one isn't
>troony game absolutely mogged
As it should be.
I kept telling the temtem devs that they should've put guns in the game and used a more contemporary "epic game" logo style, but they just wouldn't listen!

It's a game everyone wanted for decades.

Is this the new big genre? We went from
Hero shooter>Battle Royale>Pokemon survival
Survival/Crafting games have always been extremely popular on PC, I remember playing Stranded 2 like 20 years ago
>Stranded 2
That reminds me, Stranded 3 has been in development for years
https://www.stranded3.com/
Oh nice, would make for a great nostalgia trip if nothing else
It was "new" in 2013.
How can it be a cultural phenomenon when people only talk about pokemon?
