First of all it's 5-6 hours max, okay. Let's not be liberal here. Also the game completely stops everything to do the funny splosion funny. It's the punchline like 10 times and it wasn't even that funny in the first place.
honestly I never found undertale's humor to be that funny throughout the entire game. like short bits out of context get a giggle but actually sitting down and getting barraged with the same jokes over and over again just starts getting numb. its like the game was designed purely to be experienced via screenshots, gifs and 10 second youtube clips
This describes all modern adhd media nowadays. Cartoons like Gumball solely rode off of people making le epic reaction images out of nonstop shitty exaggerated faces.
>its like the game was designed purely to be experienced via screenshots, gifs and 10 second youtube clips
Or maybe it's just a funny game that's not your type of humor.
I don't understand this modern tendency to rationalize everything you don't get as being for some "inferior" group. It's just not for you, man. Nothing wrong with that.
Maybe I'm too much of a zoomer to understand it, but what's so wrong with "random" humor when it's not completely overbearing? The joke with the explosions seems pretty good to me. >The inherent comedy of an old early 2000s stock explosion in a game with pretty decent pixel art and budget >The fact that said explosion was commonly used in old Gamemaker games, with Deltarune running on more recent iteration of that engine >Said explosions are usually happening in scenes that already aren't serious to begin with and aren't really meant as the punchline
Seems like pretty decent visual comedy to me. I know it got a chuckle out of me a good few times while playing.
Because it just looks out of the place in the very same game that deals with heavier themes. Another thing why it's like that is because it takes quite a lot from Homestuck, which features the very same kind of humour and heavy story which they both don't mesh with each other well.
I'm not sure if shows like ATHF conditioned it into me or if I just have some kind of specific brain defect but the whole "stock explosion effect on thing that shouldn't explode" gag has never stopped being humorous to me.
so le randumb like me
actual redditors
yes i do browse reddit is that a problem?
R-REDDITCHAD... I KNEEL...
This except unironically.
Just like ATHF.
but ATHF is funny
this
And so is Queen, who would fit perfectly inside an ATHF episode.
Le funny momento
le narwal bacon XDXDD
I liked it because it was the same old Gamemaker stock explosion I saw on Yoyogames constantly as a kid.
Maybe once is okay. Thrice is pushing it...
I dunno, it's used pretty sparingly when you consider it's being done over the coarse of like, 6-8 hours of game.

100% correct. Queen is old internet humor inside a robot.

In this instance it is though
I'm just glad that the goat is even cuter in this game!
