Not really, the story and characters and writing in general sucks compared to OG fallout and NV but if it didn't had the fallout name you would see 4 as an OK game.
Gameplay is pretty good and exploration is great.
the exploration aspect is actually nice but the games animations, general jankiness and gunplay are absolutely terrible. story and the general atmoshere & tone are so lackluster in comparison to F1 and F2 it makes me want to cry

Compared to what? Its 100 better than any other fallout. Compared to a dedicated fps? C’mon, anon. Those games don’t let you do half of what the game offers.
My biggest complaint in 4 was the male protag. His voice actor was weak, and I have a had time imagining Nora with him. No doubt she would have gotten a divorce had the world not exploded. You can hear it in her voice. She definitely wears the pants in the relationship. So, Nora is the canon protag, and actually a 4th gen synth Shawn developed to take over the institute (which she does) to prove to his naysayers his dedication to synths was the right line of research. Nora then leads the commonwealth into a new age of peace and prosperity.
I dont agree with everything here but Nora skills as a lawyer could be more useful if bethesda didnt keep pretending the bombs JUST dropped

It doesn't matter how much you trannies and poos cry about 4 and 76, it will not change the fact they are great games and most people outside of this shithole loves them.
FO76 is unironcially the best 3D fallout game. It's map is unquestionably the best one, weapons/gunplay as meh but is still the best in the series, and the writing is decently interesting but still nothing amazing like every other game. It's not a great game but really none of these games are great just "good enough".

Also they really crank out the quirky reddit characters. It's not as bad as some people say but I'd put it below all other fallout games.
I hunted some reason down with a 5 cap bounty once and it was the most fun I ever had. I followed him halfway across the map and then repeatedly smashed his head in with a power sledge
For that scenario to even happen someone would first have to agree to pvp, then lose and put a bounty on the person. Literally requires someone to consent to being killed. They had a mode with PvP on but it died because again the general playerbase is gay and just wants to emote and be "le wholesome xD" with each other.
I think you also get a bounty for breaking into other people's locked containers.
F76 without other players is unironically a great experience. The world map is Bethesda's best and the atmosphere, while not bleak, is pretty strong and interesting. I didn't care about West Virginia before playing the game and now it is one of my favourite states history-wise. The dangerous mining industry, the coal wars, the civil war separation are all great pieces of our history, which we don't get to hear about that often. Gameplay wise, especially with other people it is quite weak, unfortunately.

Can mods even make this game tolerable? Are there weapon mods or shit that make the gunplay actually fun?
Fallout 4 is only tolerable once you rip out everything from the base game and are just playing stalker on gamebryo, it suffers from the same skyrim problem of having 500+ mods maxed out plugins but its still just Skyrim

The unfortunate thing is that the premise is good and interesting. An average person or group from the pre war frozen and unthawed hundreds of years in the future, you could do really powerful things with that. Now they wasted it.
