How the frick does that relate to Street Fighter? Smash is a game not played by fighting game fans. The reaction to Terry and Mai is of course going to be different than when they actually crossover in another fighting game. People were excited to see Terry in FEXL because the community recognizes that character. It's the same shit with SF.

SNK games in general have been on that "I want to at least play one to see what it's like" list. I never played Fatal Fury or a KOF, and I've seen a cabinet for it maybe once in my life when I was very young and on vacation somewhere. They look like fun games, but I just never gotten around to purchasing an installment yet. I would like to purchase KOFXV one day because Ramon looks really fun and energetic.

aside from the skull, everything looks way better. Better hair, better textures, better shadowing, better colors, bigger breasts, removed the generic anime face that was already shared by a ton of other female characters in the game. One thing I do think is a downgrade though is the belt.

They're going harder on MotW than I originally thought, but the cuts seems fairly certain. Grant is obviously out. Kim is popular and they have a model so easy choice unless the boys get revamped. Freeman I'd like to see finally be turned into a decent character, but he isn't popular and Vox manages to also fill the whole edgy assassin guy role.
Have to remember that XV was set up to easily have a bigger roster than XIV at launch but they chose not to. Samsho also just had 16. There are character's that'd make sense to bring back like Yamazaki and Blue Mary who could just be XV transplants. However they weren't hinted at in the teaser so I doubt they'll pull in the likes of Rick and Xiangfei.

AoF 3 is not canon, the literally title in japanese is "ryuuko no ken: an alternate story" or something like that. The "3" is only mentioned in the western release.

That's pretty normal for fighting games. Usually you have every character with their own unique ending and of all those there's maybe one or two that actually stick to the canon. iirc there was a Tekken game where the only canon endings were King and Wang's.
If I had to guess the canon endings from MotW are going to be Terry, Rock and maybe Freeman because nobody cares if he's dead.
KoF and Fatal Fury / Art of Fighting are not canon to each other. What happened in KoF00 never happened in the FF/AoF continuity. That said, they can always retcon stuff and what not.
In Mark of the Wolves they are in Neo South Town because the original city was blown away in KoF 2000.

I know usually they have a separate timeline but the event of blowing up the city was because SNK went bankrupt. It was a "goodbye" sorta of event, shared by KoF and AoF/FF.

It wasn't, NESTS and that event only happen in KoF. Nothing and nobody has ever stated their existence in that timeline. It doesn't even really line up cause MotW was 99, and the merger didn't happen till 01.
KoF original started with the idea what if we squashed the AoF/FF timeline so the characters could fight each other. Quickly the concept expanded to some new characters and more crossover. So they were split from the start. AoF/FF work in a fairly realistic manner for fighting game where time actually moves forward as you'd expect. KoF basically doesn't care about its timeline making any kind of sense. Characters are whatever age the game needs and if they dead then no they didn't.
In the first AoF Ryo and Robert story happens at the same time, in fact both are in the finale...it was never Ryo or Sakazaki focused story.
Even the AoF 2 canon ending (Ryo winning the KoF) feature him and Robert.
AoF 3 is not canon.

She's probably got 2 hidden supers. Her level 3 in KOF had mostly the same animation, but one was the counter activation and the other was one you could use in combos.
