yeah sure, black and red armor and shit for the Empire down to the comical british accents vs the light and nice colors for the "Resistance" who speak a mix of languages and live in a highly diverse multiracial society.
Setting include a desert landscape with Oriental influence that is occupied by a foreign hierarchical hegemony. It's Star Wars down to a T.
there are no lightsabers in ff12, it has a greco roman aesthetic not an oriental aesthetic, the plot is about waring kingdoms and yo party helps the younger heir to stop his brother that's being manipulated by some god thing. it's nothing like star wars, I played this game after hearing how much of a rip off of star wars it was and nothing about it resembled star wars.
>stop his brother that's being manipulated by some god thing
i'll be a bro and let you know that's your clue to stop talking.

venat are masters of lying and manipulation, dude.
You keep saying it has a greco-roman aesthetic, yet Dalmasca, for instance, might as well be Turkey 2.0 with its bazaar, persian carpets, shawls, shases. What exactly is greco-roman when everything screams Oriental.

Turkey has historically for a long time been seen as part of the Orient. Why would they seethe over a historical fact.

predominantly because it's part of the eurasian steppes and they have a strong mix of european and near east culture, conflating them with asia is a meme that pisses them off and I find it funny.

Where do you think Turkish architecture came from. Spoiler: there is no Byzantine empire, just the Roman empire. The ottomans inherited Roman architecture (and Persian).

The base story, you mean of a rebellion fighting an empire? I think that may have been written a few hundred times before 1977. Not sure what you mean by aesthetically. Any specifics?
I want to grab Penelo's ass and use my grip to fling her high into the sky so she can use the momentum to strike down with a sword attack and produce a massive shockwave that would destroy every enemy near the landing spot, then we'd highfive over our great cooperation attack and grab all the loot, hopefully without breaking the chain because that small HP recovery when you loot something during a chain is one of the most satisfying vidya sensations i've ever experienced
>expected high-budget FFT >get this dogshit
I can't believe I fell for this scam >play FFTA >more furgay shit with le carding
fuuuuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
star wars itself was just an americanized sci fi version of kurosawa's movie the hidden fortress, george lucas even admitted as much himself. even then, there is nothing inherently wrong with telling the same kind of story in a different setting. the story concept just isnt as kino as say, matsuno's tactics ogre, which he based off the yugoslav wars of the 1990s. i love ff12 for the setting and ivalice has been utterly wasted in the final fantasy franchise, but the story is definitely the most underwhelming part of the game. i wish they had stuck to the original concept where you played as basch. coming off of vagrant story i was expecting a lot from a matsuno game and it just didnt quite deliver, maybe had he stayed in charge the whole time and not left mid development, but who knows.
Final Fantasy 12 was actually about this god or angel named Venat who decided that gods pulling the strings of history was fricking horseshit so he left the god realm to go do Satan shit and let the people have free will, but our heroes got in the way of all of that because they were trying to stop warfare in the region with a WMD that came out of a god's ass or something
The thing is I REALLY like the premise of Ashe's story. Ashe's general frustration at how everything was taken from her and her lack of power threatening to turn her power mad is a good idea for a main character to go through. Because her rage was justified but that rage could've easily made her start killing people who had nothing to do with it. Frick you got mine right? Except this story is so fricking boring and unfocused that any potential it has dies on the vine
They handled her in the worst way possible. The occur is gave her all the shit she ever needed to resolve the plot but only before she realized she was obviously being manipulated and the only reason she realized it was because of an asspull by Vaan. She never gets to the point where she actually does anything questionable and has to own up to her behavior
I actually score over 130 on most general IQ tests, and around 150 in a couple other subjects but do you want to tell us more about how you're a shallow-minded fricking homosexual?
>Having a non-existent one.
Yeah, nice conversation we're having here. Might want to try medication for those wrecked synapses. Anyways, this was a good thread, homosexual. I'm out of here.
Nah, one of the rare cases where the remaster is actually good.
The remaster is good, but it's too easy. The Zodiac job system makes it way too easy to become overpowered, and the rest of the game wasn't really balanced around it.
The job system in general was badly tacked on and Square didn't know what that frick they wanted the gameplay for FFXII to be like, its why they kept changing it every time it got ported. Luckily PC had modding so that shit is trivial.
What did they rip off?
How about everything down to the base story and the aesthetic.
nta but the story in ff12 is nothing like star wars and the aesthetics are greco roman
>nta
go back
lurk more newbie

Star Wars didn't invent any of that shit
FF12's art is not greco roman, please don't embarrass yourself
The base story, you mean of a rebellion fighting an empire? I think that may have been written a few hundred times before 1977. Not sure what you mean by aesthetically. Any specifics?
the story is about collecting shards/crystals
the word "empire"
And then Nu-Wars ripped off the word "resistance" so it cancels out
They did and turning Chewbacca into a smoking hot bunny babe was the best decision they had.
Too bad the game is a mess
holy ebin coincidence, here's your upboat
?

Is Vaan supposed to be Luke or R2D2?
Vaan is episode IV Luke, Basch is episode V and VI Luke
Which scene in SoiWars did Darth Vader turn into a boat?

The DS spin-offs spinoff, Revenant Wings and FFTA2, are the best thing to have come from XII and they were merely decent
star wars itself was just an americanized sci fi version of kurosawa's movie the hidden fortress, george lucas even admitted as much himself. even then, there is nothing inherently wrong with telling the same kind of story in a different setting. the story concept just isnt as kino as say, matsuno's tactics ogre, which he based off the yugoslav wars of the 1990s. i love ff12 for the setting and ivalice has been utterly wasted in the final fantasy franchise, but the story is definitely the most underwhelming part of the game. i wish they had stuck to the original concept where you played as basch. coming off of vagrant story i was expecting a lot from a matsuno game and it just didnt quite deliver, maybe had he stayed in charge the whole time and not left mid development, but who knows.

nothing like Star Wars
Venat = Palpatine
Checkmate, Froggo
What does that make Vayne
Venat isn't like Palpatine
who cares if it copied Star Wars
The problem is that it SUCKED
as a game, it sucked. But I enjoyed some of the characters and the world design
Fair enough
I wanted to like the story but it was lackluster and not to the quality you’d expect from FF. I think I even like VIIIs story more

It's not even close
Frick off with this reddit shit
why?
My boy Matsuno got done dirty
They did it with FF4 too.
there was a Final Fantasy 4??
They renamed the original at some point, it's called 4 now
>George Lucas invents fantasy
The Hideo Kojima of film
>it's like poetry, each verse sort of rhymes with the next
>hopefully they rike it
sci fi-fantasy, mind you.
>Japanese humor can't be funn-ACK!
EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH????
*camera pans up to the sky*
>What is Star Trek.
You are brain dead.
Explain? Star Trek came first, so how did Lucas create sci-fi fantasy film?
It was such an abysmally trash game that I forgot everything about it except for the MC being completely irrelevant and Ashe's ass lmao.
I liked it and Penelo's small round ass in that tight dress thing still makes me diamonds after a decade.
For me it's Ashe's skirt
Ashe was no fun though
Well I liked her, I supported her thirst for revenge because revenge is the coolest thing you can do
Ashe's skirt is fine but that tight dress on Penelo with those succulent breasts being pushed up by the leather band thing....
I prefer RW Penelo but tight bodied teenage girls are always welcome
It's probably my favorite FF story but everyone hates it lol.
That says a lot about you, my friend.
Remember those IQ tests you had in elementary school? I'm afraid they were accurate 🙁
I actually score over 130 on most general IQ tests, and around 150 in a couple other subjects but do you want to tell us more about how you're a shallow-minded fricking homosexual?
>posting your IQ and bragging about it as a retort
Hahahahahahaha

Yeah, nice conversation we're having here. Might want to try medication for those wrecked synapses. Anyways, this was a good thread, homosexual. I'm out of here.
What's the best version of this game anyway
Did they do any remaster bullshit to it like FFX
The remaster is actually good here unlike the shit that was X.

Nah, one of the rare cases where the remaster is actually good.
I want to frick and impregnate Fran.
But she won't say what her age is, what if the kid comes out older than you were made to expect?
FFXII is nothing like Star wars
yep we already covered this 15 years ago when it came out.
