3 games is plenty. Remake was Midgar, they've already confirmed that Rebirth is going to be everything up to Forgotten Capitol, which I agree with Max that it's probably going to be moved to coincide with the events at the Northern Crater, and then 3 will be finding and healing Cloud, racing Shinra for the giant materia, dealing with the Weapons, going back to Midgar to finish off Shinra, and then going back to the Northern Crater to take out Jenova and Sephiroth. They also confirmed that they're saving Wutai for part 3 as well, so whatever they've been teasing in Remake about war between Wutai and Shinra rising to a boiling point again will likely be resolved there as well.
I also liked the idea that Max suggested about making the quest for Knights of the Round into an actual plotline of its own. Like they're ancient Cetra warriors who made themselves into a summon materia for when Jenova returned or something.
I'm not even sure how Knights of the Round would even work. Summons in Remake worked by having the summon be on the field in order to fight alongside you, culminating in a big frick-off final attack. Having thirteen of these frickers on the field at once sure as hell isn't gonna work.

It wouldn't be something that you could equip and use at any time, just something plot-specific. They'll almost have to do it that way, because like you said, it wouldn't work in regular gameplay.

Well I mean the problem is that even if it were in a context-sensitive manner, no one actually needs thirteen individual ally units on the screen at once. That's just an inconvenience.

They'll be cutscene fodder, I mean. You know they're not going to just outright leave Knights of the Round out entirely though, it's too iconic.

My money says that they'll probably be the big final blow that destroys Jenova or something. Or maybe they're the only way to stop the Weapons or something.

Nah. I think it'd be better off if they were a secret unlockable. It's boring if everything can be obtained normally from just playing the story.

Either make the active knight random, or make one of the active abilities be swapping knights between archetypes, and have them all attack in the limit break.
Anonymous
I guess that'd be interesting. Like an all-terrain type whose field unit changes depending on the needs. Also, possibly by who has the materia equipped. So Aerith summons Galahad, Tifa summons Percival, Red summons Gawain, Cloud summons Arthur, etc., etc.
Doesn't really account for everyone, but this should more or less cover all the popular ones.

My guess is pretty much the same as in Remake. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I am not so sure. In Remake with limited side content it was acceptable to limit summons to specific places and moments (except the "small summons" you could only get through pre-orders and worked in more areas than the regular ones, that was pure bullshit).
But in Rebirth there'd be a risk that we play for possibly tens of hours without a summon-area in sight, which would be kinda bad. So some modifications are in order here.

>Walking into some random ass cave >fight the first knight >an incomplete knights of the round summon materia is given >12 spots are open now around the map >defeat this hard boss battles against the knights and complete the knights of the round summon materia
thats what i would do
make them data battles
even better: since they are knights and they are all about honor, you have to fight with one characters. Ones are better than others for X knight, so you might have to choose between all of them

It can work if it's like the final trial in Heavenward, where they have 1-3 of them tagging in as you select their abilities or something.
I'm kind of just regurgitating Max here, but it would just make more sense from a storytelling standpoint to end it at the events at the crater. If you end it at Aerith's death (or whatever they do this time), the game just sort of "stops". There is the emotional punch, but beyond that, it would be very anticlimactic. Meanwhile, if you end it at Northern Crater, you get probably the best sequel hook in a game's ending since Master Chief said "Sir, finishing this fight," and one of the best "middle low points" since Empire Strikes Back. You get:
>Cloud losing his mind, handing the Black Materia to Sephiroth, and then disappearing into the Lifestream >The real Sephiroth returns to life (I'm assuming this is the "Rebirth" in the title) >The Weapons wake up >The party gets split up >Tifa and Barrett are prisoners of Shinra >Meteor looms in the sky, approaching to destroy everything
Then, to add into that mix, potentially Aerith or someone else dying and/or Zack showing up out of nowhere, and that's an insanely climactic way to end things, and keep people hooked until Part 3. Then, you cold open Part 3 with Tifa and Barrett being held prisoner in Junon, and give it a God of War-scale opening with them escaping while the Weapon attacks the city.

Oh I agree that ending it at the crater would have been better. I just think the devs have been pretty honest about everything so far and would have just said the game is ending at the crater even if the forgotten capital was moved there.

This is how I think it should have been split up:
1. Remake - up to Kalm flashback >game is split into 3 chapters >Chapter 1: up to plate crash >Chapter 2: up to Shinra tower >Chapter 3: Kalm flashback
2. Rebirth up to Crater
3. Rest of the game and finale
Putting Kalm in 1 allows a possible legit Seph fight and it allows more of the story to flow better.

Yeah. all this open world shit makes this thing so gay. world maps are soul. no ff games will ever have this feel again.
homie, they've said the game ends in the Forgotten Capital, which means it extends all the way to the first icicle area and covers the 2 main continents.
its not lost, SE is just incompetent, notice how it isn't a problem for Rockstar who have made tons of games on a big scale. MonoolithSoft does this several times and its on a console that's much weaker.
The few mandatory weapons, big materia, wheelchair cloud and return to midgar are like 6 hours of content in the original game. They have that+northern crater, so plenty of room for 20 hours of padding and compilation content

adding wutai vs shinra war shenanigans is more than enough to set up part 3
that with weapon hunting, huge materia hunting, searching for cloud, zack shenanigans and discovering the ancients and the power of holy can be easy done
>Market Ever Crisis as "Another possibility for remake" >It's cuts through massive swathes of story and occasionally forces you to stop and go play Crisis Core and some other compilation story nobody cares about starring three people that don't matter.
Is it so hard to just do that artstyle and sell it as a normal remake?
Ever Crisis is one of the most offensive games of all time. It's crazy how 10 years ago Dungeon Keeper on mobile was enough to make the entire vidya community go insane but nowadays people see this and just go "meh it's how it is"
I “played” it for a few minutes then saw how much the main menu tries to spam you with shit to buy and telling you about the swimsuit skins you must get now right away!
Deleted that game. It just feels gross for a Gacha to make weapons from a single player game and make it into “drops”.
What’s fricked is it’s probably Glenn as a cameo in Rebirth. So by the time that story finishes I’ll just watch or read a recap.
gachas are fricking disgusting and it's because of "people" that keep supporting shit like genshit that keep these predatory vile practices afloat. They will never go away because of you
>Make Junon and Midgar more distant so Reinforcements from Junon being late would make sense. >Nerfs the Great Sea because they didn't shrink the peninsula near Gold Saucer.
NuSquare is shit.
it doesn't really match exactly where junon is supposed to be in the EC world map (which like most assets is probably just ripped straight from FF7R/RB)
either the scale is really TINY and that is the whole eastern continent or it's just a small part of the peninsula and the open world is absolutely MASSIVE
hard to say until we see more
At this point, I'm honestly glad that they didn't. Remake was basically just the proof-of-concept, to see if they could pull off a FFVII remake, and even just with what they did, they managed to expand (or bloat, depending on who you ask) what was maybe 5-10 hours tops in the OG game into a full 40-50 hour game on its own.
>Remake was basically just the proof-of-concept
No, it was a genuine attempt, which is why it was so wildly expensive and had hundreds of people working on it.
Midgar is just a set up for the plot and relationship of the characters. It has fundamental elemens, like making Cloud get closer to Aerith and care enough about her to get into this whole shitshow.
People who talk about midgar not being that important are silly. The "open world" of ff7 only works because it is just a follow up of the events already built in Midgar.
One of the best ideas of Remake was giving more time and whole chapters of Aerith and Cloud interacting with each other. It doesnt treat their relationship like a speedrun.
Forget about fully explorable, you don't even go to the upper city after the start of the game besides the small quest with Jessie
The entire game takes place in the ugly as frick slums
Well yes since the original let you explore an entire planet. Granted it was abstracted to the point that you could do it on PS1 but it still felt like you were adventuring across a planet.
Now they insist on everything being real scale in rebirth so of course they're gonna make Gaia the size of an actual planet.
Nah, it's going to be a bunch of interconnected large hub areas. Kind of like they did with FFXVI, just with bigger maps, and actual shit to do that isn't just running across the map to bounties.
Sure, I didn't mean 1:1, just that it was sort of the VERY basic template. It won't be a hallway simulator like XIII and Remake were, but it's also not going to be a bunch of Witcher 3 maps either.
They fricking added ubisoft towers to FF7... I'm so glad I didn't preorder part 1 and fricked off when I learned about the time jannies and that it wasn't a remake, but an IF scenario spin-off
They fricking added ubisoft towers to FF7... I'm so glad I didn't preorder part 1 and fricked off when I learned about the time jannies and that it wasn't a remake, but an IF scenario spin-off
It's a bit sad, but I guess it's not something you can really ignore if you want the game to sell gangbusters. With an area as big as FF7's overworld, you either have ubisoft towers or you risk alienating like 80% of the playerbase. It's annoying, but this game probably costs too much to do that.
At the very least, you can probably hope that they give you the option to ignore these towers completely.
I think my problem with this is that a solution already exists. Final Fantasy 7 gave you a map with major locations already highlighted and any extra locations you had to go out and find. Granted it's a PlayStation 1 game from 1997 so there's going to be some limitation but you can't tell me that the concept of exploration is obsolete or that Zoomers can't go poking around the environment.
Bro I'm confused, is this implying that the next game ends at Junon? so likely the "final boss" is Jenova on the ship?
this game is going to be 20 parts long at this fricking rate the entire segment plot wise after Midgar to Junon is literally fricking nothing. >Kalm flashback >Chocobo ranch to cross swamp >Mithril mine mini cutscene with turks >optional ft condor and yuffie forest >Junon dolphin >Junon parade >Get on the ship
This shit takes like 3 hours at most to get through
how long and complex is a videogame of 1997 that his Remake need be released in pieces every 3 years? FF7 dont need fancy graphics and voices actors
Final Fantasy 7, on average, is 40 hours long. Despite its length you actually cover a huge amount of ground. Mostly because Final Fantasy 7 is the definition of brevity within the context of the series. Midgar is about two or three hours if you know what you're doing. 5 hours if you've never encountered a jrpg before. So put that into perspective when you consider that part one of the remake was forced to extend a 5-hour section of the game into 40 fricking hours.

in Remake 1, Midgar is just a long corridor with giant arrows pointing you to where to go. in Remake 2 you need the tower for unlock fast travel because zoomers hates walking in a overworld
>in Remake 2 you need the tower for unlock fast travel
No? You unlock fast travel by visiting locations for the first time and by repairing rest-stations. Nowhere did they say the towers enable you to fast-travel, they just reveal certain points of interests and we don't even know if those are all or if there are some actual hidden ones that the towers can't detect. You are basing your claims off both false, as well as made-up information.

Interesting, with everything new this remake shows I'm either filled with some kind of cautious optimism mainly thanks to nostalgia, and a genuine feeling of nausea when I see shit like this webm and Cloud in boyband clothes on a fricking segway.
FF15 would have been more fun with more in depth combat. A lot of the bullshit just felt like "press ATTACK until you win!" unless you were underleveled or something.
FF15 open world had nothing in it but monsters to kill and random little material pickups on the ground here or there. Hunts just place boss fights that didn't exist prior to taking the hunt on a spot, so I don't consider that part of the open world in either game. The only place that weren't pre-designated on the map by proximity as a dungeon or the like, and were actually worth exploring, was the sole place reachable by aircar.

That's a side quest that pretty much starts in one of the little gas station stop spots and is right outside it by proximity. So it's not open world exploration honestly, beyond "oh god where the frick is this single motherfricking bastard in this little tiny pond area".

fair enough
It still baffles me that you get to the other continent, it's mapped out for the most part, working traffic, a seeming attempt to have an actual world design to it, and all there is is railroad stations to interact with because they literally ran out of time to finish the game any more. Even with the big trailer earlier in 2016 highlighting Tenebrae as an actual explorable location (with a visual terrain bug in the trailer even).
Fast travel points were unnecessary in the original game because the original game was constantly pushing you forward up until the Temple of the Ancients which by that point you have vehicles that can make the return trip easier. But I also have a problem with it with regards to how it interacts with the player. You can't have a moment where you go poking around and find a cave that wasn't mandatory but you go in there anyway and you find Sephiroth's mother had isolated herself in there out of shame. You can't have a moment where you find a dude who is extremely knowledgeable about Chocobo breeding that can lead you to the most powerful materia in the game. Because every Secret is presented to you on a list. It's Skyrim game design. You don't have to soak in the world, you just have to follow the waypoint.
Fast travel points were also unnecessary because the world map was an actual world map where the only shit inbetween destinations was the occasional hidden thing and random battles thanks to condensing shit down. Since Rebirth is Chapters still, I feel like we're just going to get stretches of linearity progression as a point of no return, and then interspersed hub regions to frick around in for a while before starting the next no-return again. Not sure if I like that design, but I guess fast travel points are kind of necessary to make these hub areas not shit to navigate.
>I feel like we're just going to get stretches of linearity progression as a point of no return, and then interspersed hub regions to frick around in for a while before starting the next no-return again.
That's exactly what it's going to be. A series of big interconnected hubs dotted with odds and ends to do, docked together with the big cinematic story moments.
In hindsight that's literally what Remake did per sector stop point ala Yakuza games, but now they have a wider scale for it. At least the minigames look interesting and I'm hopefully not collecting fricking cats again.
The only thing I found with a strategy guide was Knights of the Round. Every other secret I was able to find on my own. Maybe not in one game but over the course of multiple. Which was actually a good thing because it meant that new playthroughs had something new to find and that I completely missed Vincent my first time around and Yuffie was not a late game disc 2 recruit
>Every other secret I was able to find on my own
bull fricking shit you did. I recall that one random ass cave somewhere that you had to go inside and talk to the npc old man at a specific timing on the internal game clock and he gave you an item. No fricking way anyone figures out something so 100% random without a guide

Well, that just cemented my plan not to get the game. Frick all this POI tower shit. It's just stupid chores. Why can't you just find this shit yourself without the tower? Why does the tower need to show you on the map where to go?
>vtubers in Yakuza 8
I could see that being an amusing substory. Kiryu learning what vtubers are and just being bewildered and out of touch. No reason it'd ruin the game. They've always done this shit.
I'm more significantly more annoyed by the existence of item crafting than this.
This at least has a point, and is over after you've done them all. I do not look forward to having an inventory full of crafting materials that I'm never going to bother figuring out what to do with.
The item crafting in this one seems actually interesting because it gives you a ton of useful elements. The problem of crafting is how most of the time you get a bloat of useless resources.
>The item crafting in this one seems actually interesting because it gives you a ton of useful elements.
How so?
In what was is getting these "useful elements" as a drop going to be better than just getting a normal item instead?
I dont remember exactly, but crafting will improve your character and give nice rewards, i will go see if i find an accurate explanation of how it works.

Anon, are you blind? We literally saw the party in Costa del Sol, Cosmo Canyon, Gongoa Village, Golden Saucer, the Buggy and got the Tiny Bronco as well as the Forbidden Capital confirmed to be in Rebirth.
Are you perhaps one of those who "avoid watching trailers to avoid spoilers" yet still keep posting in threads like this? That kind of schizo-ness is not good for your mental health.
There's also a line of dialogue saying that Fort Condor is on an island now, so that will probably be its own map, and the doctor from Mideel is in the trailer, so you go down there at some point to, so that will be another map.
I'm genuinely looking forward to comfy times at Icycle Inn. Based on that shot of Cloud riding around on the Segway in the trailer, it looks like there will be wardrobe changes in this, so I'm looking forward to trudging around all bundled up at the northern glacier.
The world map was the least exciting part of FF7 so I don't care. I'm glad it's not that big I guess. Ubisoft towers are lame because now there's no reason to explore, just walk in a straight line to the nearest crafting material/chest.
Man, this is so pathetic to watch. People had some very good reasons to critisize FFVIIRemake, although they rarely really forcused on those legit points, they did still exist at least in a not dismissible amount
But the "criticism" against Rebirth is just such a funny joke. "Towers? Oh no, game ruined!"
THAT is the hill you chose to die on?
If you didn't like Remake, you won't like Rebirth.
But now there's reasons to not like Rebirth even if you liked Remake, one being ubisoft inspired open world slop.
Speaking of which, did you notice? The Soundtrack from the most recent trailer... is actually the BATTLE VERSION OF THE MAIN THEME OF FFVII! They actually fricking did it again. You seamlessly switch between that one and the regular main theme whenever you enter/exit battle on the world map.
I really hope Beck and his Bandit group are like a running joke the whole game and theyre their own party, but they end up doing something legit badass at the end.
nothing is allowed to be simple without being a retraux throwback. everything must be content-driven and timewasting to justify hundreds of millions of dollars of budget and then beat impossible sales expectations to please shareholders.
Tabata has laid the ground work for modern Final Fantasy games and Rebirth is clearly taking heavy inspiration from his work, FFXV, the greatest Final Fantasy of all time. He really was the hero we needed, but didn't deserve.
it's high time for us to admit 15 was always good. I shit posted 15 for years even though I have never played it until recently and I really have to say I'm sorry, that was bullshit. I'll never be able to play ff14 again
How badly are they gonna frick up this thing? Learning Beta from it was like a rite of passage. If you had the right setup you could do it. I really want this to be superboss tier where you have to be gud to beat it but odds are they're giving it the hellhouse treatment and just making it some spectacle storyslop fight
of course you can, doesnt mean it was designed that way, any regular player will skip it

Dicey.
Chocobros how come I haven't seen FF15 mentioned by SE as their inspiration for Rebirth?
The game is the bestest Final Fantasy, mentioning it would surely bring the game into an even more positive light with the fans and reassure them that this game was going to be good. Yet they haven't said anything of the sort as far as I'm aware...
Please tell me I'm wrong and give me the good news while tucking me into bed.
>Why didn't Nomura credit the devs who stole the idea he himself had prepared for FFXIII Versus, and further made a washed-out implementation of it??
Yeah, I wonder why?
Yep. But it is full of shinra/mako pipes, so it seems like a facade.
And about monsters, seeing how the Hell House became a bossfight, we should expect the same from Tankceratops.
keep going anon, one of the most fun thing about the remakes for me so far is how they reimagine the monsters, and how they dont pussy out on adapting the weirder ones.
>menu-based location selection/fast travel bad >levels bad >corridors bad >zones bad >moderate-sized but dense open world bad >huge but mostly empty open world bad >everything bad
Yes, as expected, this is Ganker, alright.
Im the only autistic frick that cared about this shit
but when i saw the grunt for the first time in remake, i got obsessed at wanting to see the rest moving and fighting. The grunt got a big glow up.
this is not the map if it ends at the forgotten city, very clearly it's gotta have the entire middle continent.
i hate it already though just looking at it. why is junon in the middle, it was very clearly at the fricking end on a corner. there's no room for fort condor here because junon is in the middle so fort condor would have to be like 3 steps away from it. the chocobo ranch was not on the ocean, it was in the middle of the fricking grasslands right next to the swamp for a reason.
the continent is shaped like shit too, where the frick is midgar meant to be on this? on that moron top left outcropping above junon? not where its meant to be, but its the only place they can put it because it too was basically right next to the ocean for a reason.
what are the islands to the south? unless its new areas they're adding that also makes no sense for it to be mideel and shit.
as always, if they change shit in a remake that remake is always bad, never any exceptions. the map should be an exact copy of the original map with original location placements simply made better graphically.
>there's no room for fort condor here because junon is in the middle so fort condor would have to be like 3 steps away from it
Fort Condor was already confirmed in the TGS demo to have been relocated to its own separate island.
In the pre-Junon area demo right at the beginning when a huge bird swoops in to grab one of the men in black hoods, and the party moves on you see dialogue where they discuss the bird, reaching the conclusion that the bird might be from Fort Condor, while Red XIII points out that Fort Condor is supposed to be on an Island that's no longer accessible.
>only argument is "but in the og!"
Excellent post.
yes, that's how things work, people create something that is good, that is then unchangeable fricking canon for every proceeding follow up. welcome to consistency and good world building in every piece of media to ever exist, you dumb homosexual
More like they fixed a minor continuity error from the OG, as it's ridiculous for Shinra, who conquered the whole rest of the world to somehow be unable to muster enough troops in their power-center continent that contains both Midgar and Junon, so close to Junon all this time until Cloud's group came into the picture. Rebirth's explanation makes much more sense.
I wish I could be mildly excited about this game as a big FF7 fan, but the braindead padding, modern game design sensibilities, and pants-on-head moronic story rewrites make me have zero interest.
Why did they lock the first game in just Midgard I don’t really understand…is it because they didn’t want to tackle the open world? Then why couldn’t you let us explore Midgard ?
Rebirth is the most important game in the remake trilogy. Everything after Midgar to the end of disc 1 was the best part of FF7. It highlighted all the regions you can explore while introducing new sidestories while you chase Sephiroth. It was also goofy and soulful as hell. Riding chocobos to run from a giant snake, Cloud messing around with Rufus' parade, exploring an abandoned manor with a goth dude living in a coffin, Palmer getting hit with a truck after he gives you the raspberry. We call that Real Soul.
They literally had just one job: take your highest selling modern attempt, iterate on what it did well, and fix what it did wrong. That’s how non-moronic companies grow their audience.
>Final Fantasy XVII will be a Farcry ripoff.
Am I an butthole for wanting a Final Fantasy shooter? I thought that mobile game The First Soldier was pretty cool, but then it got shitcanned.
Maybe not as a mainline FF game, but I think a shooter could work well enough.
I wouldn’t mind a FF shooter per se, but I doubt SE has the skill to make something better than Dirge of Cerberus tier.
Because Shinra was at war with Wutai, and I guess Junon would be a juicy target, so they build a big frick off cannon as a deterrant. That's what I headcanon anyway, I'm not sure if it's ever actually explained.
I'm sure the real reason is because it would look cool in magazine ads (which it did).
That game never stood a chance, following up aggressively disappointing dogshit like XIII and XV, exclusive to a console that still has highly limited market penetration even three years into its lifespan, and extremely bland characters (and I say that as someone who finished the game). The plot is also kind of a lamer version of FFVII's plot, only with giant crystals instead of Mako Reactors.
>no costa del sol >no gold saucer >no wutai >no nibelheim >no rocket town
its going to be an entire game about fort condor, isnt it? the worst fricking bit of ff7
thats what i think
Is this the full map? Because i can't understand how Gold Saucer and Costa del Sol can be here near Junon, since they are on another continent in the original.
>AYO TIFA I PLAYED AERITH'S THEME IN YOUR ROOM AFTER I SNIFFED YOUR PANTIES LMAO
It was but in the present since Cloud is wearing his normal gear, I imagine you can still play the piano there but you obviously wouldn't have the theme yet so you'd have to play it by memory or pulling it up separately
This is not the full map. Think for two seconds and you'll realize that this is the first minutes of gameplay and that immediately after reaching Junon you cross the sea to another continent. We've already seen locations from the other side of the sea.
Since they talked about weapons, does that mean the game ends at the north crater? It's like three times longer than the first part unless they rush and skip stuff like mad
and thats just one continent bros...
It's a tiny peninsula on one continent, this is the world map from Ever Crisis. No I will not circle where Junon is you should fricking know.
It’s not that bad to be honest
Three games won't be enough to cover everything. Unless they cut a lot of the content from the original game.
100 hours
3 has its plate filled with how rushed 2/3 cd was and how shit was just drop and didnt make much sense.
I guess that'd be interesting. Like an all-terrain type whose field unit changes depending on the needs. Also, possibly by who has the materia equipped. So Aerith summons Galahad, Tifa summons Percival, Red summons Gawain, Cloud summons Arthur, etc., etc.
>Cloud: Arthur
>Barret: Bors
>Tifa: Gareth
>Aerith: Percival
>Red: Gawain
>Yuffie: Tristan
>Vincent: Lancelot
>*Zack: Galahad
>*Sephiroth: Mordred
Doesn't really account for everyone, but this should more or less cover all the popular ones.
That’s not a bad idea giving them their own side quest
We haven't even seen how summons will exactly work in Rebirth yet, much less part 3.
I feel you on one hand, but on the other, I do also like summons being an event of sorts that you can't just spam. Pluses and negatives either way.
try feeling me with both hands
I never realized Knights of the Round and Organization XIII both had 13 members.
Goddamit Nomura.
>Walking into some random ass cave
>fight the first knight
>an incomplete knights of the round summon materia is given
>12 spots are open now around the map
>defeat this hard boss battles against the knights and complete the knights of the round summon materia
thats what i would do
make them data battles
even better: since they are knights and they are all about honor, you have to fight with one characters. Ones are better than others for X knight, so you might have to choose between all of them
It can work if it's like the final trial in Heavenward, where they have 1-3 of them tagging in as you select their abilities or something.
I feel like if they moved the forgotten capital up to the crater, they would have just said the games ends at the crater
You get:
>Cloud losing his mind, handing the Black Materia to Sephiroth, and then disappearing into the Lifestream
>The real Sephiroth returns to life (I'm assuming this is the "Rebirth" in the title)
>The Weapons wake up
>The party gets split up
>Tifa and Barrett are prisoners of Shinra
>Meteor looms in the sky, approaching to destroy everything
1. Remake - up to Kalm flashback
>game is split into 3 chapters
>Chapter 1: up to plate crash
>Chapter 2: up to Shinra tower
>Chapter 3: Kalm flashback
2. Rebirth up to Crater
3. Rest of the game and finale
Putting Kalm in 1 allows a possible legit Seph fight and it allows more of the story to flow better.
Remake Part 1 should have covered the whole eastern continent with JENOVA Birth as last boss.
Remake2/Rebirth the Western Continent+Forgotten City with JENOVA Life as Last Boss.
Remake3 should have been Northern Crater onwards.
Remake 1 should have been the whole fricking game.
Yeah. all this open world shit makes this thing so gay. world maps are soul. no ff games will ever have this feel again.
revtuvn to sovl
bazed red piled
>he wanted Xeno Fantasy VII
Sadly not feasible from an asset creation POV.
homie, they've said the game ends in the Forgotten Capital, which means it extends all the way to the first icicle area and covers the 2 main continents.
They are adding more shit than ever before over the course of several games. They are milking this shit like never before.
>Unless they cut a lot of the content
That is the idea.
>1 game in 1997 was enough
>3 games in 2020-2030 isn't
Just can't be done anymore, we lost that technology.
Barack “that Black person” Obama
its not lost, SE is just incompetent, notice how it isn't a problem for Rockstar who have made tons of games on a big scale. MonoolithSoft does this several times and its on a console that's much weaker.
They did it all in one game 26 years ago.
WoW anon
Incredible
Now sequels of games take 6 years to get done. Look at Zelda
You arent a genius with these takes.
Who would imagine that doing games with low poly models and 4k would be vastly different.
Looks different from what I remember from ff7. I wonder if it's just my memory being wrong.
>Market Ever Crisis as "Another possibility for remake"
>It's cuts through massive swathes of story and occasionally forces you to stop and go play Crisis Core and some other compilation story nobody cares about starring three people that don't matter.
Is it so hard to just do that artstyle and sell it as a normal remake?
Ever Crisis is one of the most offensive games of all time. It's crazy how 10 years ago Dungeon Keeper on mobile was enough to make the entire vidya community go insane but nowadays people see this and just go "meh it's how it is"
What’s wrong with ever crisis
It's a gacha and not a videogame
that's besides the point and he doesn't care. anti 7re posters are disingenuous to their core. cap psnr2
Square gacha is notoriously horrible. I will never touch another one after having played Valkyrie Anatomia.
They will never go away because of you
you only roll for the swim suits.
actually, they give you one for free, and if you reset for a couple of times, you can get them both for free.
>Make Junon and Midgar more distant so Reinforcements from Junon being late would make sense.
>Nerfs the Great Sea because they didn't shrink the peninsula near Gold Saucer.
NuSquare is shit.
I can't tell if this is supposed to be the whole eastern continent or just the area around junon
Just the area around Junon, doesn't fit the shape of the continent otherwise.
it doesn't really match exactly where junon is supposed to be in the EC world map (which like most assets is probably just ripped straight from FF7R/RB)
either the scale is really TINY and that is the whole eastern continent or it's just a small part of the peninsula and the open world is absolutely MASSIVE
hard to say until we see more
Why wasn’t Midgard fully explotable ?
Because it wasn't in the original
That didn't stop them from fricking shit up in the Remake though.
That’s a gay excuse
Do you not realize the irony of using this excuse with FFVIR of all games?
the story doesnt allow it
At this point, I'm honestly glad that they didn't. Remake was basically just the proof-of-concept, to see if they could pull off a FFVII remake, and even just with what they did, they managed to expand (or bloat, depending on who you ask) what was maybe 5-10 hours tops in the OG game into a full 40-50 hour game on its own.
>5-10 hours
Midgar was only about 5 hours, depending on how much you walked around and talked with npcs
Takes me about 8 hours consistently every playthrough. I don't run from encounters and talk to everyone typically though.
It would have been fun if it was fully explotable
>Remake was basically just the proof-of-concept
No, it was a genuine attempt, which is why it was so wildly expensive and had hundreds of people working on it.
It's just a set piece, you don't even get to explore it before your sector gets ruined and you have to leave anyways.
>Cloud unintentionally got Aerith involved with a bunch of terrorist
Kek
To be fair she was with a cientist who wanted to breed her with all types of shit, i imagine that ecoterrorists arent that bad.
Tell us you just want open world gay shit AAA slop like Assassin’s Creed without telling us
What
Forget about fully explorable, you don't even go to the upper city after the start of the game besides the small quest with Jessie
The entire game takes place in the ugly as frick slums
>Sector 0 climb/Shinra HQ/another Reactor/Underplate/Traintracks/Pillar/Deepground/Speedway/Place beyond the Portal
>Ugly as frick slums
???
Nah, only Sector 7 exploded.
What is there to "explote"?
think smol pp in big vegana but instead of smol pp its a big pp and u get to new places and also get aids
so you can only walk on the colored parts? how will they transition to the others? overworld or cutscene or what?
Nomura has done it again
The open world is supposed to be the size of a planet so that's just a small part.
You expected them to do a planet or something?
Well yes since the original let you explore an entire planet. Granted it was abstracted to the point that you could do it on PS1 but it still felt like you were adventuring across a planet.
Now they insist on everything being real scale in rebirth so of course they're gonna make Gaia the size of an actual planet.
Nah, it's going to be a bunch of interconnected large hub areas. Kind of like they did with FFXVI, just with bigger maps, and actual shit to do that isn't just running across the map to bounties.
FF16 doesn’t have towns to explore though. This one will
Sure, I didn't mean 1:1, just that it was sort of the VERY basic template. It won't be a hallway simulator like XIII and Remake were, but it's also not going to be a bunch of Witcher 3 maps either.
apparently it's 300:1 scale so it might still be pretty huge
HOLY SOUUUUUUUUUUUL
Seeing this makes me extremely tired.
Why though? Did you sleep
Gaming really has homogenized across the board hasn't it?
They fricking added ubisoft towers to FF7... I'm so glad I didn't preorder part 1 and fricked off when I learned about the time jannies and that it wasn't a remake, but an IF scenario spin-off
>and fricked off when I learned about the time jannies and that it wasn't a remake
Yet here you are.
yes, reading a thread is not the same as buying a game
It doesn't appear to be ridiculously big so that's a plus for me
homie, really
AAAAAAAAA
People are stupid. Ubisoft towers are so widespread for a reason, anon.
how long and complex is a videogame of 1997 that his Remake need be released in pieces every 3 years? FF7 dont need fancy graphics and voices actors
Final Fantasy 7, on average, is 40 hours long. Despite its length you actually cover a huge amount of ground. Mostly because Final Fantasy 7 is the definition of brevity within the context of the series. Midgar is about two or three hours if you know what you're doing. 5 hours if you've never encountered a jrpg before. So put that into perspective when you consider that part one of the remake was forced to extend a 5-hour section of the game into 40 fricking hours.
FF7 (1997) is long because random battles with generic enemies and the long text dialogues that you cant skip
in Remake 1, Midgar is just a long corridor with giant arrows pointing you to where to go. in Remake 2 you need the tower for unlock fast travel because zoomers hates walking in a overworld
What's the point of open world games anymore because devs and gamers try their hardest to skip the open world with fast travel and icons everywhere.
>in Remake 2 you need the tower for unlock fast travel
Anon you do realize the people that post here are morons right ? Nothing you say will make the rationalize
Did you even watch the gameplay video or are you just parroting what other anons say?
What do you think. We thought anons didnt play the game to shitpost, now they dont even see how the game is.
Truly baffling.
The tower of this game is so not-tower that it doesnt even clears the fog, much less does shit like fast travel. What a moron lmao
You fricked up. Idiot.
>It's a bit sad, but I guess it's not something you can really ignore if you want the game to sell gangbusters. With an area as big as FF7's overworld, you either have ubisoft towers or you risk alienating like 80% of the playerbase. It's annoying, but this game probably costs too much to do that.
what the frick are you talking about
Nice
Interesting, with everything new this remake shows I'm either filled with some kind of cautious optimism mainly thanks to nostalgia, and a genuine feeling of nausea when I see shit like this webm and Cloud in boyband clothes on a fricking segway.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>ubisoft towers in a FF game
Is this real life?
is this just fantasy?
>>FF game
>is this just fantasy?
zoom zoom
are we pretending assassins sneed 1 and 2 aren't good games now?
I feel so beaten down by these towers; watching this WEBM has made me laugh IRL like I'm a fricking mental patient.
>FFVII Rebirth will have LOCATION SCANNING TOWERS
>Just like Assassin's Creed
>Just like Horizon Zero Dawn
>Just like Spider Man
Kek, I love how they found a way to implement that into a Final Fantasy game.
This is so strange. FF15 had open world that was fun to explore without any tower shit.
No ff15 wasn't fun in any way.
just like my ff16
its more fun than ff16 or 7r
>that was fun to explore
Ehhhhhhh
FF15 would have been more fun with more in depth combat. A lot of the bullshit just felt like "press ATTACK until you win!" unless you were underleveled or something.
you described every ff including 7r

Stop proving you never played xv
That fricking quetzcoatl in 7RB is literally FFXVs exact quetzcoatl too
Literally everything you do out in field in 7RB you do in XV too
How do you already know everything there is to do in Rebirth compared to XV when we're 5 months out from release
Surely you're not Barry just shitposting, right?
I'm talking based on whats shown
And based on what's shown for the open segments all that stuff is in xv too
it's literally xv-kun
>FF15 had open world that was fun to explore
Let's not get crazy now.
Don't forget catching frogs.
That's a side quest that pretty much starts in one of the little gas station stop spots and is right outside it by proximity. So it's not open world exploration honestly, beyond "oh god where the frick is this single motherfricking bastard in this little tiny pond area".
I was being a wiseass, just making fun of what little there is to do on that big ol map.
fair enough
It still baffles me that you get to the other continent, it's mapped out for the most part, working traffic, a seeming attempt to have an actual world design to it, and all there is is railroad stations to interact with because they literally ran out of time to finish the game any more. Even with the big trailer earlier in 2016 highlighting Tenebrae as an actual explorable location (with a visual terrain bug in the trailer even).
finding new fishing spots was always fun
>FFXV was fun to explore
you forget that the towers in ff15 were the restaurants were you could also get hunts and food
you left out ZELDA BOTW
but of course nintendo always gets a pass right
you've come along way from defending final flop shitsteen. acknowledge 15 was a good game and we will crush the xbots and nintengroids into dust
>15
>good
correct
No
the enemy of my enemy is my friend, when you want to start winning just say the words
>1:1 map size
Soul. Remember when people thought 7R2 would just be a bunch of railroaded corridors?
That's cool. Reminds me of Final Fantasy 8 with the radio tower.
I'm so very, very tired.
>NOOOOO, NOT A FAST TRAVEL POINT
Just don't use the towers.
>Because every Secret is presented to you on a list.
You don't know that. Anyway, Skyrim's a bad example. There are quest markers, but you discover random stuff all the time.
Everyone found all that shit with a strategy guide anyway
I wasn't being literal, autism kun
nice backpedaling, now enjoy your ubishit slop
>nice backpedaling, now enjoy your ubishit (slop)
just like my ff16
16 wasn't slop but this definitely is.
based to some
cringe to others
16 has way too many damn cutscenes and some serious issues [non battle movement is laughably poor] but it has a certain level of soul and care put in to the world I don't feel from any of the other modern final fantasies.
16 is the least ambitious final fantasy
I read this comment with a Ben Kenobi voice.
Please, XVI wishes that it had the ambition of an Ubishit game.
it's not even a fast travel point apparently the world map is littered with chocobo stops that you use to fast travel
>Assassins Creed towers
*Puke*
Lino
Well, that just cemented my plan not to get the game. Frick all this POI tower shit. It's just stupid chores. Why can't you just find this shit yourself without the tower? Why does the tower need to show you on the map where to go?
Modern vidya is pathetic
you can just not activate it and explore all this big pile of nothing instead!
Isn't that so cool?
Nah. It's clearly just filler like all the ? on the Witcher 3 map was.
you have fallen very far, the kino is over
I bought the collector's edition 🙂
And just like that I don't care anymore. Won't even buy on deep discount.
And I liked Remake.
>ubisoft towers in Rebirth
>vtubers in Yakuza 8
Man, this week has dashed any hope I had left for video games in 2024.
>vtubers in Yakuza 8
I could see that being an amusing substory. Kiryu learning what vtubers are and just being bewildered and out of touch. No reason it'd ruin the game. They've always done this shit.
What is this tool of satan called?
the slop maker
Ubigun
>map towers in Final Fantasy 7
Tendie falseflag chain, by the way. It's okay when Nintendo does it. BG3 is taking that GOTY award, lmfao.
wtf
remember folks, it is only okay when big babby company does it!
Rebirth is nailing on the rpg part, every system they talk about makes me interested in using it.
The absolute fricking state
Based, I fricking love Ubisoft towers
>ip count remains the same
You need a new IP count checker cause that was my first post and I had actually never seen that before
>that was my first post
it wasn't
said no one ever
HAHHHAHAHA
ENJOY YOUR SLOP
>implying that wrapping a food analogy into a "meme" makes it any less of a food analogy
Seething
But it doesn’t clear the map though
"FF7R will have ubisoft towers" is something I would have made up as a doompost back in like 2016
>2016
the good old days when you still had male genitalia
it's true son, your fat mother's gorilla grip pussy destroyed my dick when we were conceiving you
>it's true son, your (fat mother)'s (gorilla grip pussy) destroyed my (dick) when we were conceiving you
just like my yoshitpiss
Kek
it's one of my favorite comebacks, I get called a troony all the time and have learned many chud crushing retorts
Why are you called a troony
the chud was correct about my genitalia being surgically removed...
>Zelda have ubisoft tower
>FF7R have ubisoft tower
Mario will have ubisoft tower
GTA6 will have ubisoft tower
Elder Scroll VI will have ubisoft tower
Half life 3 will have ubisoft tower
What’s so bad about this ?
random explore good
ubisoft tower bad
You know you can always ignore it
>Ubisoft Towers in FF7
LOL
only morons play these demakes
>ubisoft tower
Hitting new lows with every new entry in this fricking series. Final Fantasy XVII will be a Farcry ripoff.
Yes, But a FF8 Shooter Prequel with the Laguna Trio would have been Acceptable.
Holy shit the tendies are getting desperate.
Yeah, this makes Bearposting before BG3 release look like the actions of fully sane reasonable non-shitposting people in comparison.
ubisoft towers could have saved ff16
AHAHAHAHAHAHA ENJOY YOUR SLOP
I aged three years looking at this
They want to be a western dev so bad
Why does everything besides the characters look so generic? Like it came out of some asset store.
Lemon Sky Studios is a computer-generated imagery studio that produces art for animation and video game titles, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Oh fricking boy, more ubishit towers
>more goyslop
My expectations were low and I am still disappointed
Put me on the screen cap

final fantasy has fallen

You guys are such fricking morons
First day on Ganker?
HOVY SOVVVVVVVVVVL
So is is part 2 going to end at Junon or something? What a shitty game.
You fricking morons have ADD or something
We see Gold Saucer, Costa Del Sol, Nibelheim, Gongaga, and it's been confirmed to end at the Forgotten Capital.
bullshit. too many locations
don't know what to tell you other than watch the trailer and read interviews. they literally confirmed the game ends at forgotten capital.
>ubisoft towers
lmfao
Gats
Come home, jrpg enjoyers.
>DQ12 is an ARPG for "adult audiences"
you lost
Implying you know anything about DQ. You people always parade FF like this ever changing series. Meanwhile it stagnates while every entry of DQ brings something new and tangible to the genre.
no fricking way
are these the same fricking towers from all those ubisoft games?
>ff troons spend years complaining about towers in botw
>karma strikes back tenfolds
Fricking based
>ff troons spend years complaining about towers in botw
youre just making shut up
why does nobody freaks out when Zelda does it
Bro I'm confused, is this implying that the next game ends at Junon? so likely the "final boss" is Jenova on the ship?
this game is going to be 20 parts long at this fricking rate the entire segment plot wise after Midgar to Junon is literally fricking nothing.
>Kalm flashback
>Chocobo ranch to cross swamp
>Mithril mine mini cutscene with turks
>optional ft condor and yuffie forest
>Junon dolphin
>Junon parade
>Get on the ship
This shit takes like 3 hours at most to get through
This is just the first continent
It fricking better be. Honestly I'll accept nothing less than this second game ending at city of the ancients with the death of aeris (s)
It is anon. It’s literally just the first continent
thats exactly what they said they are doing you fricking troglodyte lmao. go back to lurking
I'm guess there will be two or three "world" maps, this one for Calm to Junon, one for the western continent and one for the north.
So playing all 3 parts + DLCs will be over 500+ hours?
Crisis Core is canon too, so you can add that to the pile as well.
The world map was the least exciting part of FF7 so I don't care. I'm glad it's not that big I guess. Ubisoft towers are lame because now there's no reason to explore, just walk in a straight line to the nearest crafting material/chest.
I'm trying to make sense of this map, where's the river north of Junon? How much is being cut off, Midgar's not even in this segment.
>It's gonna be another FF15 "open world" with hyper realistic rocks and fricking nothing to do
knowing this game will have a world to explore is exactly what I need after playing ff16, can't wait to play this
Where's Mexico?
no beaners or Black folk in FF games, sorry paco (sometimes they have respectable black people though)
too much water
Man, this is so pathetic to watch. People had some very good reasons to critisize FFVIIRemake, although they rarely really forcused on those legit points, they did still exist at least in a not dismissible amount
But the "criticism" against Rebirth is just such a funny joke. "Towers? Oh no, game ruined!"
THAT is the hill you chose to die on?
If you didn't like Remake, you won't like Rebirth.
But now there's reasons to not like Rebirth even if you liked Remake, one being ubisoft inspired open world slop.
Haha, you're right. A couple of Ubi-slop towers won't stop me from enjoying-
>Influenced by Horizon
NOOOOOOOOOO!
(repeat for 100 hours)
Speaking of which, did you notice? The Soundtrack from the most recent trailer... is actually the BATTLE VERSION OF THE MAIN THEME OF FFVII! They actually fricking did it again. You seamlessly switch between that one and the regular main theme whenever you enter/exit battle on the world map.
The first time I played Remake, I about shat myself when I heard the battle version of the Mako Reactor theme.
>seamlessly switch between that one and the regular main theme whenever you enter/exit battle
Happens in XVI too, good stuff.
lol
?
I really hope Beck and his Bandit group are like a running joke the whole game and theyre their own party, but they end up doing something legit badass at the end.
Like
Running a Johnny train on Tifa.
Now I am thinking what other mechanics can they add aside from ubisoft towers?
physics puzzles
sandbox building
the bird in the air that lets you scout or the use of binoculars
tall grass stealth is confirmed
now only need some parachute/glider and the drone/bird that lets you tag enemies
>now only need some parachute/glider
Green chocobo is already that from the the trailers
crafting
farming
building
survival elements
minecraft
*yawn*
ahh I'm so sleepy I can barely keep my open to read all these super entertaining posts
boring game gets boring posts
I'm gonna pass out an
why didn't you just post this in the other rebirth thread? this really isn't worthy of a separate thread
Its really depressing they can't even make a full world map anymore. The lies we have been sold about 'progress' in video games are just that.
nothing is allowed to be simple without being a retraux throwback. everything must be content-driven and timewasting to justify hundreds of millions of dollars of budget and then beat impossible sales expectations to please shareholders.
What is a proper open world for you then anon?
The overworlds in FF1-9
Kiss those days good bye
I already have
It’s good
comfy wool socks
cool fall air
advent children blue ray on the tele
sleepy bros achieve effortless rem sleep
decently big, nothing insane, a good size for a map so that every corner can be filled with handcrafted details.
Tabata has laid the ground work for modern Final Fantasy games and Rebirth is clearly taking heavy inspiration from his work, FFXV, the greatest Final Fantasy of all time. He really was the hero we needed, but didn't deserve.
Shut up Barry
tabata is a good man
SE management is to blame for the chaos not him
it's high time for us to admit 15 was always good. I shit posted 15 for years even though I have never played it until recently and I really have to say I'm sorry, that was bullshit. I'll never be able to play ff14 again
Looks nice
How badly are they gonna frick up this thing? Learning Beta from it was like a rite of passage. If you had the right setup you could do it. I really want this to be superboss tier where you have to be gud to beat it but odds are they're giving it the hellhouse treatment and just making it some spectacle storyslop fight
Considering you can go back, they are just gonna do the simple thing
go fight it, its too strong, come back later and get the e.skill
pussy shit, you can get it the first time if you don't suck
of course you can, doesnt mean it was designed that way, any regular player will skip it
thats like saying just because some autistic girl beat malenia using a dance pad it means that the game is easy or some shit
its an equipment check, if you have fire+elemental materia in your armor you just need to be lucky with who it flicks away
wasn't there some gimmick to the AI in that fight to make it only flick away 1 person and not 2? I forget
>finishing clive's game soon
>then I gotta play zack's game
>then I get to start remake
Good year for me
havent played any other final fantasy besides x2 (which i also dropped mid way). this looks very interesting
what's final fantasy about anyway?
is there character customizaton? i did see a character in two different clothing options
the fire quadraped and cat are also playable right?
Combat looks so fun! I wanna play it for the combat. So many combo attacks.
NOMURA KINO INCOMING
The Diamond Age is Here for JRPGs...and many other things are entering a new age too.
If you are not Ready, then things might get a little...
Dicey.

Bowie will come out of his Fake Death Show to reveal the Truth about All Things in FF 7 Part 3
it seems we have some of the same sources at SE...I was certain the bowie stuff was misdirection...
I'm only halfway certain. There are Many webs being laid...even a Spider such as I can go down the wrong one.
does the acronym NFC mean anything to you?
Yes, that's the one guarantee...
Nomura Full Control is Inevitable

of course. my source will sometimes text NFC to me, if i ask what it means he'll reply "it's imminent"

The Diamond Age is Almost Here.

Frick is that picture? Proto-Chad? The younger version of the chad that the MC would meet in the Gigachad prequel?
Why did they have the NEED to make it open world slop? Frick Horizon ZD and westoids.

>Ugly asiatics
Does Cloud's VA also voice the "shinra grunt" that comes with them?
Who?
the one that follow Sephiroth, Cloud, Tifa party.
I remember there were two
Oh, the real Cloud. I see what you mean. I thought you meant in "present day".
Yes. It is a nice touch.
it honestly sounded like zack's VA to me
The crystal cave you go through to get to Junon must be fricking massive.
The mithril mines
Chocobros how come I haven't seen FF15 mentioned by SE as their inspiration for Rebirth?
The game is the bestest Final Fantasy, mentioning it would surely bring the game into an even more positive light with the fans and reassure them that this game was going to be good. Yet they haven't said anything of the sort as far as I'm aware...
Please tell me I'm wrong and give me the good news while tucking me into bed.
nomurians know kino when they see it and need no reassurance, you wouldn't get it
>Why didn't Nomura credit the devs who stole the idea he himself had prepared for FFXIII Versus, and further made a washed-out implementation of it??
Yeah, I wonder why?
damn I have been btfo and tucked into bed, I'll sleep comfortably now, thank you wise and powerful nomurian
This is a fact.
Ubisoft towers in here is good because you have good characters, good combat system, good gameplay loop and a good story.
Ubisoft towers in ubisoft games are bad because the characters are sleep indusing, repetitive gameplay loop, and bad ubisoft shit.
Context matters.
ADDED THE MU FROM THE CARDS
There is a type of dragon-like enemy at the end of yesterday's presentation. Is it from the old game?
Im pretty sure quetzatcoal isnt an enemy in FFVII, thats completely new
Cool. Really curious to see the new monsters. Who do you think it will be the new summon? i bet in gilgamesh, nomura likes him.
90% sure the "wutai" zone we saw was the gilgamesh summon quest
Yep. But it is full of shinra/mako pipes, so it seems like a facade.
And about monsters, seeing how the Hell House became a bossfight, we should expect the same from Tankceratops.
Nice
Remake enemy designs are pure SOUL
>b-but MUH ubisoft towers! You are not allowed to say anything positive about Rebirth because... you just aren't allowed to, OK?
>YOU HAVE TO PRAISE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE.... THE ENEMY DESIGNS!!!
I can do it too, shit for brains
keep going anon, one of the most fun thing about the remakes for me so far is how they reimagine the monsters, and how they dont pussy out on adapting the weirder ones.
>menu-based location selection/fast travel bad
>levels bad
>corridors bad
>zones bad
>moderate-sized but dense open world bad
>huge but mostly empty open world bad
>everything bad
Yes, as expected, this is Ganker, alright.
This place is full of morons
cell block Ganker
Im the only autistic frick that cared about this shit
but when i saw the grunt for the first time in remake, i got obsessed at wanting to see the rest moving and fighting. The grunt got a big glow up.
SOUL remake
>no rhino tank
You think it'll end up as a boss like hell house?
its too obvious
Soulful. Atmospheric. Kino.
XV Was Always Good
FF7R confirmed to be as good as BOTW
Both have ubisoft tower
this is not the map if it ends at the forgotten city, very clearly it's gotta have the entire middle continent.
i hate it already though just looking at it. why is junon in the middle, it was very clearly at the fricking end on a corner. there's no room for fort condor here because junon is in the middle so fort condor would have to be like 3 steps away from it. the chocobo ranch was not on the ocean, it was in the middle of the fricking grasslands right next to the swamp for a reason.
the continent is shaped like shit too, where the frick is midgar meant to be on this? on that moron top left outcropping above junon? not where its meant to be, but its the only place they can put it because it too was basically right next to the ocean for a reason.
what are the islands to the south? unless its new areas they're adding that also makes no sense for it to be mideel and shit.
as always, if they change shit in a remake that remake is always bad, never any exceptions. the map should be an exact copy of the original map with original location placements simply made better graphically.
>only argument is "but in the og!"
Excellent post.
>there's no room for fort condor here because junon is in the middle so fort condor would have to be like 3 steps away from it
Fort Condor was already confirmed in the TGS demo to have been relocated to its own separate island.
Point it out please
In the pre-Junon area demo right at the beginning when a huge bird swoops in to grab one of the men in black hoods, and the party moves on you see dialogue where they discuss the bird, reaching the conclusion that the bird might be from Fort Condor, while Red XIII points out that Fort Condor is supposed to be on an Island that's no longer accessible.
?t=486
Well shit
so dogshit then
yes, that's how things work, people create something that is good, that is then unchangeable fricking canon for every proceeding follow up. welcome to consistency and good world building in every piece of media to ever exist, you dumb homosexual
That's a big gun
4sapphire
I wish I could be mildly excited about this game as a big FF7 fan, but the braindead padding, modern game design sensibilities, and pants-on-head moronic story rewrites make me have zero interest.
Give this one a chance
Nah frick that, not for $70, maybe in 6 years when the full extent of whatever dumbfrickery they're doing with the story is known
Is Jessie going to be in it ?
she got plate'd
She got Wutai'd up.
She'll be a performer at the Gold Saucer, guaranteed.
>XV walk so Rebirth can run
Joking aside I actually like that SE finally stop being moron and stop reinventing the wheel for once
They literally had just one job: take your highest selling modern attempt, iterate on what it did well, and fix what it did wrong. That’s how non-moronic companies grow their audience.
I wouldn’t mind a FF shooter per se, but I doubt SE has the skill to make something better than Dirge of Cerberus tier.
Wait, remind me again why they had a gigantic city sized cannon that could only shoot in one direction? Its been like 50 years since I played FF7.
It was 1997 and the average age of the video game player was around 17.
I hope you don't mean Midgar because if you actually played the original you'd know
It's more or less a big dick that point at Wutai as a frick you I won
Because Shinra was at war with Wutai, and I guess Junon would be a juicy target, so they build a big frick off cannon as a deterrant. That's what I headcanon anyway, I'm not sure if it's ever actually explained.
I'm sure the real reason is because it would look cool in magazine ads (which it did).
It was a show of superiority largely. The "utility" was simply to own that section of the sea.
XV was always good
nigtengroids and xherbox drones die slow
I’m excited
I think it's time for me to play 15 again since rebirth is clearly designed with it in mind.
>IP count didn't go up
prove it
(113)
(You)
(114)
I hope you play as hard as you work, snoyim. thanks for keeping track of the ip count for us
ff16 will forever be the black sheep of the series from now on
That game never stood a chance, following up aggressively disappointing dogshit like XIII and XV, exclusive to a console that still has highly limited market penetration even three years into its lifespan, and extremely bland characters (and I say that as someone who finished the game). The plot is also kind of a lamer version of FFVII's plot, only with giant crystals instead of Mako Reactors.
only 13 and 14 was dogshit
I will play this game with the vigor of 1000 toiling snoys
Nice
Why didn't they give Aeris an ass like this?
Damn look at that cake
How long until onlyfans
I'm a nigtengroid so instead of playing 7re I'll just have to rub my nigtengroid switch on my mangled xherbox one gender
Gay
this makes my tower ubisoft
Give it to me straight Ganker…are the Time Jannies coming back ?
get to work snoyim
>no costa del sol
>no gold saucer
>no wutai
>no nibelheim
>no rocket town
its going to be an entire game about fort condor, isnt it? the worst fricking bit of ff7
thats what i think
ip #118
did you watch the trailer
ends at forgotten capital
>did you watch the trailer
flashbacks dont count
Literally everything other than Wutai will be in the game, lmao.
I gotta ask is rebirth the full ff7 game but remade?
Wait so the first two games were linear and this is the third one, but it's open world? Huh? Or is this its own thing
Looking forawrd to Junon. Wonder what theyre gonna do with the marching minigame.
Theyre gonna censor the gas chamber arent they
This part is gonna be hot.
This will be moronic. Tifa is a fighter. She'd absolutely HEEM Scarlet
Scenes men will never understand
they're gonna turn this into an epic moronic over-the-top boss battle, completely missing the point
Is this the full map? Because i can't understand how Gold Saucer and Costa del Sol can be here near Junon, since they are on another continent in the original.
I hope that piano was in Tifa's room.
>AYO TIFA I PLAYED AERITH'S THEME IN YOUR ROOM AFTER I SNIFFED YOUR PANTIES LMAO
It was but in the present since Cloud is wearing his normal gear, I imagine you can still play the piano there but you obviously wouldn't have the theme yet so you'd have to play it by memory or pulling it up separately
wait so is rebirth its own thing? NOT part 3?
Remake part 3 is not the official title, dear moron
This is not the full map. Think for two seconds and you'll realize that this is the first minutes of gameplay and that immediately after reaching Junon you cross the sea to another continent. We've already seen locations from the other side of the sea.
the translator tag-team during tgs was hilarious
Since they talked about weapons, does that mean the game ends at the north crater? It's like three times longer than the first part unless they rush and skip stuff like mad
Crazy what you can do when you have a smooth development pipeline
>nomura was the voice of god
so its basically a more janky ffxv
That's only a portion of the map you fricking moron. There was a shit ton of areas outside of that region shown.
How many small corridors will I be funnelled through to hide loading times?
Is that Mideel down the bottom? It looks squished in comparison to the overworld map for ff7 original.
Temple island, Mideel is more down and to the right
Ah, so this is just Junon area? I thought I was looking at the whole Eastern continent.
Not the whole thing, just most of it. Midgar and Mideel are cut off
Important revelation regarding Aeris
HOLY SHIT
She's ours now chud! Cry about it.
>The older games were so much better because they had open world!
>What are you doing! Are you lost! You can’t go that route!
BRAVO
Zelda is not a tower
cmon now
