It's not a big deal if you don't understand yet. It's meant to be confusing to people who don't pay attention, so that the reveal is more impactful in part 3.
>haters
Anon, people love the game. Talking about the ending and thinking it's awesome is not "hating" it.
This is the weirdest overreaction to not understanding the ending.
She's easily the best Compilation character. Partly for being a cute girl, yes, but also by not being an insufferably stupid and overdesigned Kingdom Hearts reject like the rest of them.
If they get it out on PC before the end of the year, it's a top contender and most likely will win after Dragon's Dogma turned out to be an mtx mess that barely functions on PC.
If it doesn't to PC this year, not enough people will care for it to win anything, and it will fade into the background.
Homeworld 3 will be this years goty. We were so spoiled last year with goty candidates coming out every other month this year is gonna feel really bad in comparison
Good gameplay excellent story fantastic music, well done open world that integrates well into the adventure, replayability, compelling side activities, beautiful environments, humor, challenge, fun pretty much everything you would want in your goty.
The problem is Rebirth's coolest factor won't be understood until the big reveal in Part 3. There are still people arguing about it who've beaten the game.
>dragon’s dogma 2 is baloney
I absolutely guarantee in 3 years from now more people will be playing Dragon's Dogma 2 than this. Technically more people already are and that will continue
But that's not how video games work. If you're not drawing interest to your games and not retaining a player base then your games just simply not appealing or it's not all that good. Final Fantasy is a well polished game. I will give it that much. But it's a lot less ambitious than Dragons Dogma. Rebirth is building on what they already started with part 1. Rather than do something interesting with their open world they take all the influence from Ubsisoft shit and mediocre at best side content. I can only imagine how much Square would fumble if they had to make an open world RPG, with their own engine(not generic UE) with heavy physics-based game mechanics. I guess they'd have to poach Capcom devs like they already.do.
You're honestly comparing apples to oranges here. They weren't setting out to have "heavy physics-based game mechanics" here. Anyway, DD2 has burned a lot of bridges with the microtransaction shit.
It really hasn't. Once they get performance issues corrected the game's going to have a very positive score on Steam. The microtransactions were there in Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 4 remake. Both of those games have high reception than Final Fantasy 7 rebirth. There's just a cognitive bias against this game because I guess internet talks been so relative the last few months for it.
It's fine if you like the game, but it's a little disingenuous to act like that hasn't pissed a lot of people off. I wasn't even aware of it until I started reading the steam reviews, and that's what all the negative reviews I saw were talking about.

The vast majority of people are pissed about the performance issues. Then to add on to their frustration they saw micro transactions for a game that they couldn't even play. Naturally made them even more mad. I will say the one microtransaction that I do not agree with at all is the $1.99 character editing option. Capcom's accounting department trying to make extra money doesn't suddenly make their developers and directors not talented though. I stand by what I said. When this game finally has all of its patches out on PC down the line, has it's PS5 pro enhancement, new Xbox enhancement shit, dlc, online etc, this games gonna be loved because the actual gameplay is fun and works. Unlike 2077 and Starfield.
Beat the game over the weekend. It's a solid 7.5/10. Could have trimmed some of the fat. The repetitive research tasks really fell off by the time I got to Gongaga. Temple of the Ancients was cool, but could have been cut in half, there was no reason to go back and forth between Aerith and Cloud parties twice. Was nice the Iron Giant was a gimmick mini boss tho. No idea why people were losing their shit over the ending though. It was pretty much on par with the rest of the sillyness and 4th wall nods the game kept dropping.
The original is still the better game IMHO, but the combat in this one really is a perfect balance between action and strategy, something I wish 15 and 16 was more like.
Well the repetitive bullshit and the fluff they added to the main story really dragged it down. Like it was getting grating near the end. I'll probably never ever replay this game.
The way it stands Rebirth will win GOTY very easily.
It'll always be some other terrible ameriacan-made dogshit that comes from out of left field. I doubt it'll be Rebirth.
Atlus is going to humiliate SE again with Metaphor.
>purse owner

L + you're homosexual
>"but the people who say how I have to think..."
Frick SE for turning a game's remake into 3 100$ games
All me. Ten years have passed, but I will never not be mad that Final Fantasy isn't turn-based anymore.
>mad about no sales
loool
I will never recover.
Won't be GOTY, too many people mad at the ending having a fake Aerith by Jenova manipulating Cloud, and that's just among the fandom.
Too divisive.
>Rebirth can't win GOTY because according to my headcanon Aerith is Jenova
This right here is an example of why it won't be GOTY.
Too many fans mad at the Jenova reveal.
Jenova isn't Aerith. Cloud is not Sephiroth. Lavos is not the offspring of Jenova-Aerith and Sephiroth-Cloud.
It's not a big deal if you don't understand yet. It's meant to be confusing to people who don't pay attention, so that the reveal is more impactful in part 3.
Don't be surprised that haters are spreading nonsensical headcanon to discredit the game.

Cissnei is so pretty bros

Zack should have put a baby inside of her before leaving
Dragons smegma 2 was never going to be goty. Rebirth seems the frontrunner for now but I can see it being dethroned. Not sure by who tho

What makes Rebirth a game of the year contender?
Good gameplay excellent story fantastic music, well done open world that integrates well into the adventure, replayability, compelling side activities, beautiful environments, humor, challenge, fun pretty much everything you would want in your goty.
>excellent story
>well done open world
>compelling side activities
These are very debatable.
name one game where the upsides are not debatable
The problem is Rebirth's coolest factor won't be understood until the big reveal in Part 3. There are still people arguing about it who've beaten the game.
Too anime. I think its between Wukong, Rebirth and some underdog shit like a live-service game ala Helldivers 2
>dragon’s dogma 2 is baloney

More people drink bud light than glenfiddich doesn’t mean the piss water is better

Low sales. Might win a nomination but will lose out to Helldivers 2
