Honestly no matter how much a person disliked Eureka and Bojza they should have shut the frick up and done something else in game. Why? Because the devs are japs and japs are autistic, if you shout loud enough they will try to cover their ears first and then remove the thing that is causing people to shout, as an autist would.
Because of this we had no Exploration zone in EW because people were far too loud in their dislike for Bojza and Eureka, and in this game it's the closest thing we have to MMO content, without it EW feels completely lacking.
I absolutely put blame on the devs but I also place a huge amount of blame on the playerbase who don't know the type of game they're playing, with the type of people who are developing this game. They're not Western, they react completely differently to a very vocal loud minority of voices than an American company does.
They do, although far less than the JP audience they do listen to the NA and EU playerbase (Oceania get fricked) especially if the complaint is loud enough, consistent and constant.
Did the eureka grind last weekend after dropping it a long time ago at level 20. Went from level 20-60 and did BA. It was a pretty based experience aside from the gays on aether trying to run past mobs instead of just killing them in BA.

It's insane how criterion (not the savage) difficulty is pretty close to a savage, but there's absolutely zero progression incentives for it. Why not give it 660 gear on a weekly lockout? It's insane to me that it doesn't. Criterion Savage should just outright give you a 665 weapon on a weekly lockout in addition to the gear. None of this tome upgrade bullshit. They made difficult 4 man content and then didn't give any proper reward systems, why the hell is it like this?
I'm confident they'll make criterion savage worth doing in Dawntrail. Another Alo Alo Island is really cool thematically, I bet the ones in Tural are going to be even better.
And seeing those FFXI crabs felt really good. They're so cool.
They also need to make criterion normal worth doing past a mount that costs 100 coins. Criterion normal is legitimately difficult to progress for most players even without the savage restrictions on resses/enrage. At the very least, several boss mechanics are above P9S level.
I'm surprised criterion normal doesn't drop tomestone gear upgrade materials. It'd be nice to be able to get them without always having to run the alliance raids.

felt like some mechanics were really cheesy, eg on first boss the spreads and point blank aoes were way bigger than they had any right to be
I liked how boss movement/positioning was actually rewarded on boss 2 and 3 cause tanks haven't had to do that for a while in savage
first boss is cancer on melee. I like being challenged to keep uptime, but being unable to melee for up to 7 gcds depending on the pattern is super boring and leaves almost no room for actual skill expression

Read your tooltips and love your fairy
If you have leftover stacks when it's time to generate more, blow them on Energy Drain
Use fairy heals (and other stuff that doesn't use aetherflow) first, they're free
If you need extra healing, use aetherflow for it, especially on soil and indomitability. Soil is a very strong move that does mitigation and a lot of healing.
You'll probably end up with a lot of fairy gauge, so spend it liberally on tanks or injured party members unless you really need to save it for something you have planned
Press aetherflow every minute exactly, so spend your stacks before the cooldown is up
Keep your dot active, keep your GCD rolling. Try to slidecast broil for movement, but fall back on ruin if you really need to run, it's much better than not casting. Use chain stratagem in line with raid buffs every 2 minutes (i.e. press it during opener and on cooldown afterwards)
Be careful about when you press dissipation
Use expedient at random to troll the party during a mechanic with precision movement. You gain Scholar rep if you can make someone run off the edge of the stage using this.l

It is a skill issue. 191-200 is a victory lap since it's easier than 181-190 and has no boss so you functionally have way more time to spend per floor + this is where you get to just burn all your poms since you don't need to hold them for anything anymore. If you timed out at the finish that's on you.

Honestly no matter how much a person disliked Eureka and Bojza they should have shut the frick up and done something else in game. Why? Because the devs are japs and japs are autistic, if you shout loud enough they will try to cover their ears first and then remove the thing that is causing people to shout, as an autist would.
Because of this we had no Exploration zone in EW because people were far too loud in their dislike for Bojza and Eureka, and in this game it's the closest thing we have to MMO content, without it EW feels completely lacking.
I absolutely put blame on the devs but I also place a huge amount of blame on the playerbase who don't know the type of game they're playing, with the type of people who are developing this game. They're not Western, they react completely differently to a very vocal loud minority of voices than an American company does.
They don't listen to anyone outside of Japan, it's also why the Ishgard ranking titles were homogenized and many other annoying changes.

It's insane how criterion (not the savage) difficulty is pretty close to a savage, but there's absolutely zero progression incentives for it. Why not give it 660 gear on a weekly lockout? It's insane to me that it doesn't. Criterion Savage should just outright give you a 665 weapon on a weekly lockout in addition to the gear. None of this tome upgrade bullshit. They made difficult 4 man content and then didn't give any proper reward systems, why the hell is it like this?
I'm confident they'll make criterion savage worth doing in Dawntrail. Another Alo Alo Island is really cool thematically, I bet the ones in Tural are going to be even better.
And seeing those FFXI crabs felt really good. They're so cool.
They also need to make criterion normal worth doing past a mount that costs 100 coins. Criterion normal is legitimately difficult to progress for most players even without the savage restrictions on resses/enrage. At the very least, several boss mechanics are above P9S level.
I'm surprised criterion normal doesn't drop tomestone gear upgrade materials. It'd be nice to be able to get them without always having to run the alliance raids.

I liked how boss movement/positioning was actually rewarded on boss 2 and 3 cause tanks haven't had to do that for a while in savage
first boss is cancer on melee. I like being challenged to keep uptime, but being unable to melee for up to 7 gcds depending on the pattern is super boring and leaves almost no room for actual skill expression

Generate aetherflow stacks every minute, those are what you spent on party heals or single target heals
Read your tooltips and love your fairy
If you have leftover stacks when it's time to generate more, blow them on Energy Drain
Use fairy heals (and other stuff that doesn't use aetherflow) first, they're free
If you need extra healing, use aetherflow for it, especially on soil and indomitability. Soil is a very strong move that does mitigation and a lot of healing.
You'll probably end up with a lot of fairy gauge, so spend it liberally on tanks or injured party members unless you really need to save it for something you have planned
Press aetherflow every minute exactly, so spend your stacks before the cooldown is up
Keep your dot active, keep your GCD rolling. Try to slidecast broil for movement, but fall back on ruin if you really need to run, it's much better than not casting. Use chain stratagem in line with raid buffs every 2 minutes (i.e. press it during opener and on cooldown afterwards)
Be careful about when you press dissipation
Use expedient at random to troll the party during a mechanic with precision movement. You gain Scholar rep if you can make someone run off the edge of the stage using this.l

You have an hour to clear each set of floors, 191-200 is the final stretch. If it sounds like a lot of time, it isn't as mobs have to be picked off one by one or avoided outright. The final set of floors doesn't have a boss at the end, but instead a forty second walk with no enemies to the item you have to pick up to end the run and stop the timer.
If you arrive at the final floor with very little time remaining, you can time out right in front of the finish line.

It is a skill issue. 191-200 is a victory lap since it's easier than 181-190 and has no boss so you functionally have way more time to spend per floor + this is where you get to just burn all your poms since you don't need to hold them for anything anymore. If you timed out at the finish that's on you.
