in ffta2, a rdm actually casts 2 spells every casts. a smn actually calls forth real summons with different effects. you can subclass rdm, use blood price to pay the massive summon mp cost with hp, and dualcast phoenix, which does a massive aoe heal and revive, with another summon that does elemental damage
in ffxiv mp is a meaningless meter for smn and rdm. dualcast is not actually dualcast and is actually still just 2 spells for 2 casts. summons are all merely reskins of a standard 5y aoe attack that every job from tanks, to healers, to melee dps and phys range also have, you could replace them with blm firaja and they would be functionally identical. in fact summons don’t even cost mp when traditionally ff summons require large amounts of mp to call. you don’t use, say, ifrit to roast a roomful of fire-weak enemies as elemental weaknesses don’t exist in this game and summons are only 5y in aoe size, so all summons are literally the same as a samurai doing an aoe sword swing

I'd just pick the one that makes me go wow the most.
I play the rotation for moron (dragon kick spam to realign after a while) and I still have fun. Feels great designing your own tomboy kick punching waifu. I will still appreciate more flavor to the job aka make my punch do more catchy light bullshit things. And maybe make it go faster because why not

Death's design is really my only issue with rpr. It's such a fricking moronic and annoying to use thing that you literally need because of that 10% damage increase. It was only like 2-3 days per week for a couple hours, but yeah, it's part of the reason why I don't want to bother with it again. I just can't feel bothered to put in the effort again, so instead I do different goals like solo Deep Dungeon, Savage, Relics, and just completing various things for my chars, and meeting new people for future networking.

It's all about time and resource management, knowledge of every possible mob's action and risk factor and what resistances they have, using every action in your kit (like for ranged DPS it'd be using heavy/bind), and knowing how to deal with the RNG it can give/do to you.
When Palace of the Dead was first released, it wasn't anticipated to be solo cleared, until Stormblood added the achievement and they gave us those regen potions a bit earlier.
dd solo clears are the most intricate, time consuming, and adverse content in the entire game. card swiper legend rats will disagree but that's out of spite and insecurity
There are people who cleared Necro on every job available in the game. Some jobs might have more utility for it but it really is 50% RNG and 50% knowing what every single mob does, how it behaves and what kinda skills it has.

I play Frontlines and PVP because it's entertaining, I got all the rewards months ago. It's genuinely more interesting to see what the other players will do against me than to memorize a 50 step dance choreography and hope to god all 7 of the other morons did too.
I think guides and access to internet played a part in lowering the fun you can have in doing savage/ultimate. If you want to clear you have to do this, this and this. Repeat 100 times so that it hits muscle memory then go on. It lacks the part where you discover mechanic and try to come up with a solution with the rest of the party. As of now, it is truly a choreography you are forced into to get your clear.

It's a mix of both. The content has to be fun and there has to be the promise of a reward. They keep releasing these half baked things like Criterion dungeons that are fun, but there's no point to doing it so everyone drops them.

I've dyed it Ruby Red already. The problem is finding a kabuto that also color-matches it (regardless of whether it's dyed), that I don't have to pay real-money for, and doesn't have an animal on top of it. It's the hat that's the problem, the coat dying works fine; both these items are Ruby Red dye, for reference.

SCH shields (shield equal to x% max hp), SGE mitigates (you take 10% less damage for x seconds). Naturally they share type of mitigations but SCH is best at raw shielding while SGE is best at mitigation buffs
Scholar has more options and a better regen system that isn't dependent on you attacking
Sage has tremendously better aesthetics/weapons and a more White Mage-like playstyle
Scholar's advantages over Sage aren't such a hard deciding factor that you should always take a Scholar, unless you really can't live without Chain Strategem
Scholar is better at actually shielding you, Sage is better at making you take less damage
Taurochole (single target) and Kerachole (Sage's Sacred Soil) so what's your point? Unless you are talking about keeping constant 10% reduction on tank.

Stormblood was already disliked enough with all the Garlemald bullshit. Having a full expansion dedicated to them and filler to get to the Zoidiark climax would have killed most interest in the game and would have been FFXIV version of Shadowlands (storywise).

meanwhile in xiv your songs do like 1% bonus damage and 99% of the population don’t even know or care what your buffs, do because it makes zero difference. you can’t actually tell if a brd is there or not
in ffta2, a rdm actually casts 2 spells every casts. a smn actually calls forth real summons with different effects. you can subclass rdm, use blood price to pay the massive summon mp cost with hp, and dualcast phoenix, which does a massive aoe heal and revive, with another summon that does elemental damage
in ffxiv mp is a meaningless meter for smn and rdm. dualcast is not actually dualcast and is actually still just 2 spells for 2 casts. summons are all merely reskins of a standard 5y aoe attack that every job from tanks, to healers, to melee dps and phys range also have, you could replace them with blm firaja and they would be functionally identical. in fact summons don’t even cost mp when traditionally ff summons require large amounts of mp to call. you don’t use, say, ifrit to roast a roomful of fire-weak enemies as elemental weaknesses don’t exist in this game and summons are only 5y in aoe size, so all summons are literally the same as a samurai doing an aoe sword swing

Theres a plugin that adds a marker on every burgercrown and ultimate title/weapon user with hidden logs, grey parses or if their clear happened with known boost sellers.
Theres also option to autohide these players. Limsa is surprisingly empty with it

It's all about time and resource management, knowledge of every possible mob's action and risk factor and what resistances they have, using every action in your kit (like for ranged DPS it'd be using heavy/bind), and knowing how to deal with the RNG it can give/do to you.
When Palace of the Dead was first released, it wasn't anticipated to be solo cleared, until Stormblood added the achievement and they gave us those regen potions a bit earlier.
dd solo clears are the most intricate, time consuming, and adverse content in the entire game. card swiper legend rats will disagree but that's out of spite and insecurity

None of the things you listed required much thought and were active hindrances to the core game design. So I play two chars, a main dude and alt girl, and my curse is that I do EVERYTHING on both. Big Fish, Necromancer, Lone Hero, World-Class Troller, All 90s, PvP Crystal, all quests/sidequests/seasonal events, maxed Squadrons, etc. Even have all minions on both too.
I've done one Relic for each expansion, but now I want to do all Relics, so I've been hoarding all Relic materials. Like I try to have the active quests for ShB so I get the drops.
I did all the Atmas for my main, and now doing it with my alt and a Zenith Bow. She hasn't done about 6 base ARR Relics so gotta do that next. I did get 12x of the Astral/Umbral nodes for them tho, from getting the crystals from the HW zone FATEs.

cringe conflict was fun for a season but will ultimately be abandoned by devs just like past iterations of pvp. there's no reason to play a ranked version when you can farm in casuals or frontlines. frontlines was made worse for the sake of CC and it wasn't worth it. new map looks like a worst version of volcano and waste another 90 minutes that could be spent on the only fun map, palaistra.

I play Frontlines and PVP because it's entertaining, I got all the rewards months ago. It's genuinely more interesting to see what the other players will do against me than to memorize a 50 step dance choreography and hope to god all 7 of the other morons did too.
I think guides and access to internet played a part in lowering the fun you can have in doing savage/ultimate. If you want to clear you have to do this, this and this. Repeat 100 times so that it hits muscle memory then go on. It lacks the part where you discover mechanic and try to come up with a solution with the rest of the party. As of now, it is truly a choreography you are forced into to get your clear.

They actually are undrstaffed. Not many key designers who could take over tasks.
My only regret is that there isn't quite any kabuto that color-matches the Heavensturn set, but Genji Striking's helmet does look the best on it. The only kabutos hi-def enough from Heavensturn to pair well with it are the Ushi and Tora (ox and tiger) ones.

The problem is finding a kabuto that also color-matches it (regardless of whether it's dyed), that I don't have to pay real-money for, and doesn't have an animal on top of it. It's the hat that's the problem, the coat dying works fine; both these items are Ruby Red dye, for reference.
Have you considered matching the kabuto color to the hard parts rather than the cloth?

SCH shields (shield equal to x% max hp), SGE mitigates (you take 10% less damage for x seconds). Naturally they share type of mitigations but SCH is best at raw shielding while SGE is best at mitigation buffs
Scholar has more options and a better regen system that isn't dependent on you attacking
Sage has tremendously better aesthetics/weapons and a more White Mage-like playstyle
Scholar's advantages over Sage aren't such a hard deciding factor that you should always take a Scholar, unless you really can't live without Chain Strategem
Scholar is better at actually shielding you, Sage is better at making you take less damage
One gives crit shields on demand while a bot auto heals.
The other makes everyone take 10% less damage without you knowing
Am I missing something? Scholar also provides 10% damage reduction vía Sacred Soil.
SGE has more 10% less damage buffs actions so that you can technically have them on cd and rotate them

I would always play with a blue/purple parser over a 99/100 one. The common way to get a top tier parse is hardly ever the easiest one and at the end of the day i just wanna play the content and get a clear. Not help you be #1 on some third party site for autistic WoWgays.
