i think the actual reason is they didn't feel like implementing a system where your character's height changes based on footwear with heels, and considering most armor has some sort of raised heel or thicker sole it was easier to create the illusion of consistent character height by giving the "bare" model generic sandals
Sandals are built in because it keeps your feet in the same shape as if you were wearing shoes, otherwise your character height would fluctuate or look odd. The shoes shown here

I can assure you nobody who is clearing fricking DSR or TOP is complaining about weaving mit during a burst window, you have like 10 seconds for the post P5 Delta buster and you can prepop Rampart AND your 120 before the buster even starts. At most, you have to delay a shadowbringer by a grand total of a singular GCD to successfully execute your burst window mit in the single 'hardest' fight in the entire game. This will not affect your overall parse whatsoever, because you're pretty much always using double shadowbringer under two minutes anyways, so the clipping doesn't effect it overall.
Parsing is a fricking meme and parsehomosexuals in general are obnoxious because they'll 'mess up' due to bad crit RNG or wall in ultis if its 'too fast :('. level 1-50 footwears all have the features i described regardless of gender
It makes it weird for FViera since they have high heels in their starting outfit but they don't actually gain or lose height when switching footwear.

miniscule damage losses have zero impact on your ability to actually clear, a good group can clear most fights 2-3 whole minutes before enrage and it's common practice to have one person sac just so the fight ends right after a burst window

Changes like that pander to lower-end players, who cannot execute. They are not lowering DRK/GNB apm to pander to high-end players, who only play the jobs BECAUSE of the apm. It's because the players who average sub blue in 90% of content with BiS are complaining that it's too complex for them to execute.
I can assure you nobody who is clearing fricking DSR or TOP is complaining about weaving mit during a burst window, you have like 10 seconds for the post P5 Delta buster and you can prepop Rampart AND your 120 before the buster even starts. At most, you have to delay a shadowbringer by a grand total of a singular GCD to successfully execute your burst window mit in the single 'hardest' fight in the entire game. This will not affect your overall parse whatsoever, because you're pretty much always using double shadowbringer under two minutes anyways, so the clipping doesn't effect it overall.
Parsing is a fricking meme and parsehomosexuals in general are obnoxious because they'll 'mess up' due to bad crit RNG or wall in ultis if its 'too fast :('. But these changes are not for those people, because they just fricking execute. These are changes made for people who engage with that content, but are too inept to execute.

I farmed the moogle tomes by running Prae and having Youtube on. I got over 1000 moogle tomes doing that and bought the Domakin and Ufiti mount, put them both into my retainer inventory for later in the year when those things are rare again.
Domakin still sells for 200k gil on my server right now while its not rare and 500k before the event
