All they needed was for everyone to get their memories back when they got their powers, so everyone knew what you did and Serena and Veronica thank you profusely for saving Veronica's life.
Because at least then the second act wouldn't feel like a complete fricking waste of time.
The biggest problem with act 3 is Serenica going back in time since it invalidates the whole game, but they also wanted to shove things from act 2 like Sylvando's parade even though it didn't make sense. Their memories is the least of the problems.
Third act. Time travel is going to be a challenge to write if its not integrated in the main premise. They didn't handle it well. I believed that Act 2's main focus was for the world and characters to keep pushing on despite their tragedies and hardships. The way Act 3 handled the time travel plot invalidates a lot of that. Not that a time travel plot couldn't have worked. I think all the characters could have developed differently as a result of time travel. Instead it feels like a regression more than anything else.
>I think the implication is that the time travel creates a new timeline whenever you do it, DBZ style
Which is even worse, since in the first timeline that would mean that they not only lost Veronica, but the protag as well. That's also a world that would need him.
It's also kind of dumb to abandon your "world" and timeline to go to another one.
Honestly, the game is better off if you stop playing before the time travel shit,
Third act is good but could be structured better.
If they’re going to market S as the Definitive Edition and replacement for the original they shouldn’t have put those side chapters after act 1 in the game. Serious damage to the pacing and removes the surprise of where your party members are.
Apart from that absolutely loved it. Sunk roughly 180 hours into it doing all the crafting and beating the game on harder battles draconian mode. Game ran and looked absolutely stunning on my PS4 Pro

Act 3? It’s alright, enjoyable if you like DQ combat which I do. It’s set up to be more like DQ3 or something where you have freedom to tackle a bunch of mini quests in whatever order you want, and they have a super dungeon with strong enemies that gives powerful unique equipment for your party members to power them up before the final boss. Super dungeon is a little disappointing because it’s revisiting areas you’ve been with some twists. But some of the boss battles are fun and the equipment/costumes are nice.
Excellent game but, the S version have more content but worse graphics than the original, even on PS4.
The translation is sometimes a fan fiction,
Names were changes, we got Erik instead of Camus and several other. The different towns have "real countries" accent, Italian and others, which was not in the original text. The worst one being the village where they talk in haiku because muh japanese like village, next time they should just make them say ching chong ping pong and eat raw fish it will be even funnier haha
The translation is dumbed down
But it's still a great game, one of the best jrpg of these last year.
Post-game is boring.
Erik and Serena sucked.
It's a JRPG.
The third act

The goddamn soundtrack. I’ve never had to turn off the music in a game up until this one.
The orchestral one is good. Just the midis sucked.
It’s better, yes. But still way too repetitive.

Yes anon the protag is leaving everyone else to be with his soulmate
Gross ass art-style

No turbo mode.
The "romance" is fricking shit.
>unvoiced protagonist
>only one overworld theme
Apart from that absolutely loved it. Sunk roughly 180 hours into it doing all the crafting and beating the game on harder battles draconian mode. Game ran and looked absolutely stunning on my PS4 Pro
>only one overworld theme
Did... did you finish the game?
One overworld theme for the majority of the game* didn't think I had to clarify
And yes I obviously finished all 3 acts I spent 180 hours on it
MC is gay.
The main DQ guy was antigays and as soon as he leaves homosexualry makes it into the series.
This. Right here. homosexualry personified.
Frick you, Sylv is awesome.
you mean the best character in the game?
Sylvando is by far the best character in the game and one of the best JRPG character in recent memory.
>t. Avarith
Sylvando's great.
>one of the few characters in the series with any character development
Nah, Sylv is based.
everything
it's by far the worst and blandest DQ game ever made
How is it in terms of gameplay?

They are all dressed and not engaging in sexual activities.
its a dragon quest game so it cant ever be better than a 7/10
No cute wolf girls.
Which Dragon Quest had them?
None. It's a very egregious flaw, and the devs still haven't corrected it.
They have never had non human party members right.
Not so - there's Healie, Sabre, Lizzie, and technically Ruff. Also I think Psaro hangs around in one of the versions of his game.
