I think low mov is more impactful than high mov. I think the sweet spot is 6-10 mov per turn, with 10 on the high end for feeling active.
10 mov is high for most FE games, I think of the first 12 games only FE1 has classes that have 10 mov default
I just don't like how Engage has foot units get 4 mov and cavs/fliers get a whopping 5
But then whoever gets the Sigurd Ring is just able to do way fricking more than everyone else because they get 12+ mov
For me, I'd prefer more of a middle ground. 5-6 for infantry, then 6-7 for mounted units. That way the gap between infantry and mounted units would be a bit closer while not making the early game feel like molasses with 4 mov.

For one thing, literally only cavalier type units can move more than 12 spaces (assuming no boots) and that's because they get a +2 boost. Every other class type can only move 10-12, and that's only while engaged with Sigurd, which only lasts 3 turns at first, and you can only have one Sigurd user. You're also missing Sigurd for most of the middle game. It's not like that unit just permanently gets 10-14 move for free.
Engage's overall lower movement actually makes positioning more important and even if you give canter to everyone, it just increases flexibility and opens up more options without being braindead like fe4/tellius

I think people are so adamant about FE remakes because half the series doesn't have an English release. Have we been able to emulate these games for years with translation patches? Yes. However, how hard would it have been for Nintendo to throw together an English translation when they put fe4 on the switch virtual console or whatever they call it. Would have made a few extra bucks off westerners for cheap.

I will always take a new game over a remake, but if I had to pick one of those it would be 6 just because it's the most basic and I'd like to see how they can make it more interesting, assuming they don't use shitty gimmicks to do so.

Im tired of remakes, so very very tired of remakes. FE4 is a decent game, but its gameplay is not too fun. A faithful remake would not fix this, while an unfaithful one would quash that identity of FE4.
I would say the only kind of remake we SHOULD get, is a FE6 and 7 duology, where some of your decisions on pairings and stuff in 7, such as which character Hector fricks, could optionally impact some of the units in FE6 and making it so you dont have moronic prequal writing and making it more cohesive.

I think the over reliance on ballistae is far worse. Warpskipping maps isn't even recommended because its about muh LTC but rather because its how you make the game tolerable.

Only stupid secondaries complain about the DS games visuals. Shadow dragon is a legitimate remake of fe1. The changes they made make it play entirely different with its own set of challenges. Fe12 is a different story.
