Piece of advice kid, stop parroting what you hear from your friends or media, eventually it will lead you to either alcoholic or drug addiction because you get so used to repeating whatever you see it becomes a habit. That's how you become a drone with fat wife and two kids who hate you.

Never played it, I appreciate the art and the overall feel they were going for when it came to interacting with characters, but apart from that it seems like a pretty big let down especially since there seems to be no updates, and their plans for multiplayer got axed. Completely mismanaged. Could have been a game to remember for more than it's abysmal launch had anything even gone slightly right behind the scenes.

yea and Martin Scorsese is Martin fricking Scorsese, he's got the name and he's got the wealth. I would agree however that people play up height and appearance too much.

Get off dating apps, find people naturally through real life events or hobbyist class shit or just generally going about your business in some social area like a park or something. The longer you're around someone the more they'll come around to your appearance and personality even if you're an ogre. The game is rigged against you, but it's not impossible, and Chad will certainly have his harem, but remember Chad feels for you so there's always something he won't lay his almighty hands on. Now getting a long term relationship where both parties are faithful? Good fricking luck.

moron, i suggest Nomad for first playtrough. It fits the best for someone playing the game for the first time since both you(the person playing) and the Nomad archetype have no idea about what is in Night City. Nomad and Corpo have been already living in Night City so they feel best for a second playtrough once you're familiar with the setting.

        Anonymous

Alright thanks man, I guess I'll just do it in the order that they appear on screen, left to right
I'm guessing that the different lifestyles also change the main quest and side quests?

          Anonymous

No, the different lifestyles have unique interactions, can change some quest solutions and have a small unique questline to each of them but the overall the game is the same. Still the amount of flavol added can really change the way you interact with characters.
          >the romantic rebel Nomad
          >the wienery ass Street Kid
          >the scumbag Corpo
Also i'd say the different endings fit the different backstories the best. Begginning as a Nomad and at the end leaving Night City with the Nomads felt super natural. The Legend ending felt the most fitting for the Street Kid and the Corpo is the one for the ARASAKA ending since you start as an ARASAKA goon.

            Anonymous

What lifestyle would I choose if I wanted to be Ryan Gosling from Drive? I'm guessing Corpo is out of the picture but would Nomad or Streetkid work better

              Anonymous

Probably Nomad? Street Kid is the most punk of all the 3. Drive doesn't really have the punk feel that 2077 has. It's more Noir.

moron, pick whatever attracts you the most, it makes 0 difference past the intro. There are like 2 unique lines per background in the entire game but the rest of the time V acts like a street kid so don't make a corpo or it'll feel wrong. There is absolutely not a single drop of flavor anywhere.
      t. played corpo on first playthrough.
And the endings aren't really tied to your background at all. The bgs all follow the same story so in the end the endings all feel natural. It's pure autism on his part.

Panam is a c**t, and the other girl is a dike you can't romance. They even failed the free points part on purpose.

PC players didn't have problem with it.
Console players on the other hand

It deserves all of the hate it got for its console ports being shit but playing it on PC at launch was pretty good. It had its issues but the random pedestrian AI being shit isnt that huge of a deal. Didnt run into any major glitches in my playthrough.

Everyone on a console should have gotten a refund though.

As usual making diversion by blaming all the critics on the bugs. I'm a PC player, didn't get any game-breaking bug (mostly fun ones) and I hate the game for various reasons.

The biggest mistake was the Keanu stuff. It locked you into such a limited story in the end where there is nearly zero replay value. Having so much of the game revolve around him was bad design.

It gave the game direction but the pacing didn't really fit. Starts coming off the rails when you're a little further along and can spend 3 weeks doing side missions like its no big deal.

if youre talking about photomode, turn off depth of field in its own tab.

if the game is blurry while playing normally, you might have a resolution problem with windows or your graphics card. Or are using some automatic settings, that are turning on FSR or DLSS on a performance setting.

Game is unplayable without dlss since I'm 4k, but even trying to lower res or graphics settings without dlss looks blurry. Warzone looks sharp as hell with dlss so idk about this game

                turn off clouds
turn off screen space reflections, you wont notice this one.
                ambient occlusion to low
                lowest fog resolution

those are the most demanding settings
                can remove distant shadows too

but it shouldnt look blurry unless you have something screwed up somewhere or using AMD or Nvidia performance tricks.

The game would have genuinely gone from a flawed 7 to a 10 if they hadn't gone for the moronic open world GTA shit and instead focused on hubs. Imagine if you just had several hubs that were each decently but not excessively big. Each and every space can be extremely rich with detail, alternative paths, things to discover, and generally just content that really immerses you into the world. The game's biggest strengths already were its audio-visuals and atmosphere, those were pretty 10/10 already even though the gameplay depth and mechanics were lacking. So imagine those aspects somewhere they can really shine.

The way I see it, you'd set it primarily in hubs like a mega-block in the main city, an open market or ghetto favela area by pacifica, a richer corpo area, and some specific buildings and locations you wind up doing raids on or otherwise going to one-off, something like that. It obviously still ends with a raid on Arasaka tower, but instead of just going around a huge city that exposes the shortcomings of the AI and the inexperience of the dev team with driving and making such huge cities, you'd just be overwhelmed by the depth of each hub and the characters in them, with a carefully crafted *facade* of a dystopian mega-city surrounding you.

While not 100% how I'd do it, I would point out how intensely immersive and soulful something like VTMB is with exactly that sort of hub formula, and it has you actually returning to hubs rather than shit like Deus Ex where it's basically one-off for most of them. Sure, you can walk and hit the walls of reality without too much effort, but it's like a big stage play. You get to play the role of protagonist mostly however you choose, and a world that's very alive, you just have to stay confined to the general predetermined plot points that you're anyway interested in seeing through to their end.

I thought the open world thing would be a mistake but it's honestly not terrible like I was expecting. Being an open world mostly works. It's definitely missing /something/ but I'm still not really sure what it is. I don't think it's needing a hub design though.

      >no filters
      >just with depth of field blur and sometimes cropping

I guess you have absolutely no clue what a snapchat filter is
depth of field: not a filter
      cropping: not a filter
sepia tone: yes that's a filter

If you're going to use the english language, use it properly

DOES THE GAME LOOK DIFFERENTLY WHEN IN PHOTO MODE, WHEN COMPARED TO NON-PHOTO MODE?

          >DOES THE GAME LOOK DIFFERENTLY WHEN IN PHOTO MODE, WHEN COMPARED TO NON-PHOTO MODE?
It doesn't look different; Depth of field exists in the regular game and you can disable it in graphics settings if you want. Photomode just takes what you're already seeing and compose it better

Here's an example of first person view without doing anything in photomode

Nah, it totally needs hubs. The ways the open world works are mostly in just seeing this massive city in such detail, and all the people in it. But then you take a close look at anything other than the scenery basically, and it tends to fall apart. Hubs would fix that by allowing lots of refinement to a smaller area, while still keeping the "feel" of being in a huge city by merit of being surrounded by it and still visiting different locales.

Cyberpunk's best moments are almost all in parts of the early game where you're super restricted where you can go, and in Johnny's memories of 2013 and 2020... when you're again similarly restricted. It totally needed to focus on even more of that, not try to be an open world where wow i can drive 4 miles away through almost non-existent traffic before i reach the end of the world anyway. At least with a hub you have a more manageable start to the herculean task you have before you in game dev, while still offering plenty of player freedom compared to purely linear design.

the world is lifeless. I loved the story and side jobs but gigs feel terrible. Very shallow

This game is both incredibly overrated and overrated; it has a lot of flaws and a lot of value but I think its biggest failing was simply that it built up more hype than it could pay out. It's far from perfect but if it hadn't been so much of a letdown I think it could've stood on its own as a very fun and pretty game.

what if they released it with no marketing at all
would it be better or worse

Assuming people would still magically know it at least exists, I think better. A more solid look on what the game would be from the start might've helped too, it felt like both the marketing and the fan hype were riding on aesthetic alone most of the time.

people would likely forgive any hiccups they ran into, because they would be to prideful for finding a hidden gem. playing and underdog game. kinda like how little games blow up over night. cdpr's marketing caused people to dream about a game that reality can never match. then released a pc game on consoles, during a supply shortage and cryptomining boom making gpus unafforable.

with no marketing and a pretend world where everyone is on a decent pc, people would be fawning over the game.

They didn't build up the hype. That was shazamtrannies.

Can't count the number of times I saw some ridiculous horseshit being posted about the game here, and then two hours later someone taking all of those and making a list saying "wow this thing they didn't talk about won't be in the game"
A whole frickload of things taken out of context, purposefully misconstrued too - take the flying cars for example. There's little to no information about flying cars except they'll be in the game and you probably won't fly them. The game releases, you don't fly them and they're in the game. The shitposts: Wow they added flying cars to the game but you can't even fly them!

That sort of bullshit happened constantly. A lot of people didn't even hear about flying cars being in the game until there was some moron shitposters kicking up a fuss about not being able to fly them - as if it were THE make or break feature for the game.

Is this shit worth playing now? I'm guessing most of the bugs have been fixed but that was never the biggest problem of the game.

Have they actually added any content or is it still a fake empty "open world" game?

It's eh... it's a piss-weak modern day Deus Ex game at best. Most times it's not even that.
The highlight is the cityscape and that's just about it.

The highlight is the freedom of riding around on your motorcycle and completing gigs and side quests. Those are the parts of the game that feel most like what it was hyped up to be. The main story is nice most of the time too but the side missions and gigs feel the most satisfying to complete, considering they’re not nearly as heavily scripted and railroaded as the story.

It's pretty mediocre. I did like Keanu's character and his story line, singlehandedly carries the game. Wouldn't play more than an hour if not for that.

The problem with Ubipunk, besides the bugs, is that it tricks people. Nice graphics, mediocre story, and okay combat which all come to together to make a mediocre game. Its a dime a dozen, a needle in a pile of needles, a turd covered in cake. If you picked up a ubisoft game, you would get the same mediocre experience this game gives. These types of games do the bare minimum to get your neurons fired and people fall for it every time. You basically paid 60 dollars (for some of you even more) on a game you can get anywhere else for almost half the cost and the same replay value. Hell, you could make fallout 4 look just as good as some of the screen shots for all of a shit game it was.

TLDR - Just play any open world game and get the same experience you would get playing cybershit.
