>Game becomes utter shit in the last act >Journos still give it a perfect score because they only play for 20 hours anyway
Basically if you're a dev, you're better creating a long game and frontloading all the good content.
>tfw you remember when every critic shat on Mass Effect 3's ending
I don't blame nudevs for making 200 hours long snoozefests at this point. Not like anyone is going to finish them and play 20 hours then move on. Even gamers don't finish these games. BG3 has one of the lowest completion rates of any of the RPGs.
It's not. But class based dialogue options REALLY dry up, and it's pretty buggy. Nowhere near the shitshow that were Pathfinder games on release, you can beat it no problem.
BG2/ToB definitively resolved the bhaalspawn crisis, remember? Then it's been retconned countless times, in novels and dnd books. BG3 is nice fanfiction, but ultimately drivel. Much like 5e.
I remember ToB being a piece of shit and the final Bhaalspawn enemies being completely underwhelming forgettable garbage compared to Sarevok and Irenicus.
They're not "prequels" and they weren't fricking made by Beamdog, you goddamn moron. Beamdog is just the company that made the "enhanced edition" versions. BioWare is what made Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. Keep in mind this was back in 1998 and 2000, so it's a totally different BioWare.
I could understand not liking Throne of Bhaal which is a victory lap excuse to throw lots of max level spells but BG1 and BG2 both had good last few hours.
>Just got to Raphael >Epic music with organ and violin >Raphael starts singing in the fight (for only one round of lyrics, then it switches to instrumental on the loop of the fight)
This is so fricking kino I can understand if nothing peaks this
I was actually enjoying the game immensely, had like 30 hours over the course of 3 days and got to the point where I'm pretty sure the game goes into act 2 (elevator in the duergar grymforge) but the choice of continuing or finishing up loose stuff in Act 1 crippled me. I took a look at my questlog and saw all this other shit I can still do, didn't want to go into act 2 and risk not being able to complete these quests, but also didn't want to spend too long in the starting areas again.
Finding the urge to get over my mind goblin and booting the game back up to continue

Or they look past shit that will be fixed like performance or bugs and rate the game as is like Cyberpunk got glowing reviews.
The last act is literally 1 hour long. What a fricking scam.
Game is 30~ hours even on easy unless you know exactly where to go and what to do.
>Ganker homies be like omg the last hour is bad111!!!1!11!
>i did zero content and fricking zoomer'd my way thru the main story
Frick are you on about? You mean the endgame bit? There is a lot to do in Wyrm's Crossing plus the city. That's the third act.
moron
A lot of quest flags are fricked and there are other bugs, but act 3 is certainly not shit, there is more content than 2 but less than super chunky 1.
I have to he honest I dropped the game after 3 hours, for some reason it's not like DOS2 (which I loved) and I can't force myself to play it...
Cumbrains gate 3 is a shit game.
The first 2/3 of the game are so good that I don't care if Act 3 is worse.
It's not. But class based dialogue options REALLY dry up, and it's pretty buggy. Nowhere near the shitshow that were Pathfinder games on release, you can beat it no problem.
Act 2 is shit because you're railroaded into the ending
>Game becomes utter shit in the last act
Woah just like BG1 and 2
There were two baldur's gate games before this one???
They were prequels made by a different dev called beamdog. They're OK but skippable now that larian is at the helm.

why is the ugliest character in the front?
Just jumped in the Mindflayer colony and I already feel my investment plummeting.
End of act 2? It's not THAT boring. Yet.

>if you're a bard you can play your own music over his singing
Kino

SAD!

You can go back, only the tiefling thing auto resolves. Starting act 3 locks you out of the rest.
It's worth finishing up the shit you can still do.
starting Act 3 is a true lockout of sorts, you can go back but the quests will be gone
>Has terrible Act 3 because of moronic decisions made in Acts 1 & 2
>NO NO it's everyone else that's wrong!
