the real flaw in his performance was getting too defensive with Zed about his decision. >get off my back
a problem with authority, like they say. those whole interview segment is kino.
The tests existed to see if the participant(s) could think outside of the box during an unusual crisis situation. Nothing more and nothing less.
Also this
Everyone failed it. He just failed it in the least wrong way.
and this
The other people shot on sight, Will Smith shot after assessing the situation.
K ACHTUALLY knew who J was all along cause due to the time travel shenanigans in 3 he helped distract young J from his father's death and told him his dad was a hero. 3 is the weaker film of the bunch, it's still good but don't expect to love it. You should watch 1 btw, as it'll help you see why this twist is stupid.
>Will there ever be another good [,,,] movie?
Probably not
The most recent movies I've seen and liked were Annihilation and Hereditary, both 6 years old at this point
>Zero good MIB vidya
It seems like it would be a good IP for a game but it's more of a character-driven adventure movie. The action can't be turned into something more generic to fit into a game without taking the soul out.
Pretty sure they killed that with the 4th movie. Also, Tommy Lee Jones is getting old and we all know what happened with Will Smith. Unless you want new people with a chance it could be better than or worse than MIB: International, it doesn't look like it's happening.
no
it honestly shouldve just been a one-off movie instead of doing what hollywood always does aka: making too many sequels for no reason other than to cash in easy money
It's hard to say, but the way they handled both 2 and 3 I agree with you. K shouldn't have made a come back. J should have been more competent in 2. The second film flies in the face of the first films development of the characters and the time skip already gone through multiple partners. There was still good in the second film.
I wouldn't want any modern western studio to touch any more classic franchises.
I remember watching the independence day sequel and how offensively bad it was, i would have walked out if not for the sheer curiosity of how bad it could get

2 was lame but I thought 3 was pretty damn fun obviously not on par with 1
Here's how I interpret the scene: >It's a shooting gallery. They're supposed to shoot things. >Everyone immediately starts shooting things >James is just looking at the bizarre situation he's in. Why are they shooting at cardboard cutouts of monsters? What the frick is this shit? >Figures, well, he needs to shoot SOMETHING. >Sees the one "abnormal" piece in this ridiculous scenario and decides "Frick it, I'll shoot that." >Is questioned about his reasoning >Shows spectacular talent for bullshit which impresses even Zed >Zed, notably, has no complaints about his actions, just his problem with authority, which K actually seems to like
Incidentally, J is consistently the only one who questions things and shows proper problem-solving skills. >No one knows why they were invited here >All the military guys are just like "We're here because we were told to come here, it's not our job to question." >James is the only one who questions this clearly bizarre situation >Paper test >Everyone's having a hard time with the paper test because none of them were given desks. But they make no effort to try and make it easier on themselves. >James is the only one who goes "I mean there's a perfectly good desk there so why not fricking use it?"
very close to my interpretation, also J ends with "but that was a good shot though, right?" making it pretty clear he knew the other guys weren't buying it but he at least showed some skill
>Tommy Lee Jones actually complained that his character didn't get any jokes unlike Will Smith's character
Good thing that director stepped in. J and K dynamic was perfect.
Polpot would've loved having that black guy around. Under Polpot's regime, smart educated people and dorks with glasses got killed on three spot. Wouldn't want them threatening the status quo.
He still shot an unarmed person on the suspicion they might do something evil.
Good
He was being an butthole. He wasn't taking the situation seriously like the hardcore military types.
sounds like a perfect US cop
The other people shot on sight, Will Smith shot after assessing the situation.
As good inteded
Why did she have those books walking around the streets at that time of night?
the real flaw in his performance was getting too defensive with Zed about his decision.
>get off my back
a problem with authority, like they say. those whole interview segment is kino.
but that's a minor...
With quantum physics books at the middle of the night alone with monsters everywhere. She was starting something or the one controlling them.
>Black person doesn't understand what a genius is.
Couldn't outsmart a bullet
It's white so it's ok
>White girl in the ghetto with quantum physics books
Justify it
white girl is an alien in disguise, doesn't mean she deserves to be shot. MiB protects and helps hide good aliens, shoots bad aliens
Why would an alien in a street full of em’ be in disguise if not for nefarious purposes?
I know, right? If there's one thing I learned from Men in Black, it's that the world always matches my human understanding.
Why would a Black person start running from the cops if bot for nefarious purposes?
J was a cop before he joined MIB
He should've failed the test.
if shooting her was the wrong answer then there would be no objectively correct solution in the setup. aliens were doing nothing wrong either
Bull shit, the best scenario I ever went through was a no shoot one.
Everyone failed it. He just failed it in the least wrong way.
The tests existed to see if the participant(s) could think outside of the box during an unusual crisis situation. Nothing more and nothing less.
Also this
and this
what test?
Watch the first MiB movie
The test wasn't about shooting, it was a out how you'd react to being questioned.
3's dumb twist ruins 1 a little.
What was it? I only watched 2.
K had always known J since he was little and had been watching him ever since.
Josh Brolin was damn great as younger K though.
Yeah. The stories and circumstances were rather poor in the second and third films, but the characters were top notch.
K ACHTUALLY knew who J was all along cause due to the time travel shenanigans in 3 he helped distract young J from his father's death and told him his dad was a hero. 3 is the weaker film of the bunch, it's still good but don't expect to love it. I meant as in 2 was the only sequel I watched. I never seen the cartoon either.
>I never seen the cartoon either.
It's pretty good, in fact I consider it the actual canon alongside the first film.
That intro is so fricking good man
The only problem was that Jay never developed in it and stayed rookie to the end.
Will there ever be another good MIB movie?
no. franchises are doomed because every moron studio wants them to be the next marvelslop
>Will there ever be another good [,,,] movie?
Probably not

I can easily see this being adapted into an L.A. Noire style game
it was carried by smith and smith went full schizo after getting cucked so no
Pretty sure they killed that with the 4th movie. Also, Tommy Lee Jones is getting old and we all know what happened with Will Smith. Unless you want new people with a chance it could be better than or worse than MIB: International, it doesn't look like it's happening.

I heard the independence day sequel was horrible but I never bothered to look into why
>mfw I just found out there's ANOTHER Ghostbusters movie to be released
Hollywood has been creatively bankrupt for years, don't expect anything good anymore, especially from a "revived" franchise.
Yikes, haven't seen any since 2
2 was lame but I thought 3 was pretty damn fun obviously not on par with 1
>Zero good MIB vidya
i need to rewatch this kino
A MiB watchtogether with Ganker would probably be pretty fun.
Sure, why not?
Frick this "spam" filter has been aids for over a decade.
DUM DUM DID-DAY

Congratulations on being able to watch and understand a movie correctly. That puts you in the 99th percentile of Ganker.
>HERE COME THE MEN IN BLACK
>It's the MiBs
>UNH
>HERE COME THE MIBS
Viewfinder. Short but fascinating game.
What? You didn't like it?
What happened with that rumored PS5 exclusive MiB game?
Baba is You!
eggar yer skin is hangin offer bones
I wish that Jump Street crossover wasn't cancelled.
>be black
>be surrounded by dangerous monsters
>immediately shoot a little white girl in the head
I don’t know, seems pretty realistic to me
>Tommy Lee Jones actually complained that his character didn't get any jokes unlike Will Smith's character
Good thing that director stepped in. J and K dynamic was perfect.
Animated Series actually showed us who Tiffany really is.
Ganker did one good thing and allowed a drawfriend to work his magic
>thread emptied out to watch the movie
