Depends on how the devs coded the thing that needs fixed. Most of the time when you have a large project with a lot of people working on it, shit isn't documented and stuff is all over the place.
Sometimes things will work/break and the dev's have no clue why because no one was keeping track of the dependencies involved.
Usually this happens due to a mixture of incompetence and the devs being rushed.
