This was a great game. I had no idea about the ending when I finished it the other day. Bluepoint should have added additional Colossi in the remaster though.
The game doesn't need more Colossi. 16 is perfect. Fumito Ueda originally wanted 48 Colossi but it wasn't possible on PS2, so he scaled it to 24, then to 16. So glad he did, it would've ended up being a slog otherwise.
>a slog
the game lasts 6 hours you dumb frick, it would have greatly benefited from more colossi and the games creator even said he hoped that bluepoint was going to complete or reimplement some more of the colossus that were tested
Yes, a slog. 16 is the perfect number before the battles begin losing their significance. If Wander had to defeat 48 Colossi to save his waifu and collapse a hall of 48 idols, that's not an interesting story, that's a checklist.
20 year old stale gameplay everyone wishes would evolve but they will still buy substandard games with the name on it so it will never evolve, absolutely nobody plays pokemon because they think the gameplay is great except competitive spergs aka 0.00001% of people who play
no one care about pokemon story people only play because the gameplay. if the gameplay was not the main focus then pokemon showdown would not be so popular, there would not be so many rom hacks and challenges like nuzlocke would not be so popular.
Don't even try to fricking lie Ganker SMT gameplay is bashing your head against a wall, and the fans that pretend they don't constantly grind in these games/claim to have beaten bosses several lower levels that they actually were are pathetic
I've been playing SMT3 and I've beaten the last 8 bosses (mostly being fields) first time and I did no grinding. Overpowered for a couple of fiends sure, but generally on level.
People always popping up in my stream chat to talk big about how hard it is and how the dungeons need 200 IQ and then my stupid ass waltzes through no problem anyway?
I really enjoy the vibe of SMT but it really seems overblown by how hard it is if people actually engage with the game systems. And then I think people like to pretend it's extra hard for some obscure ass gamer cred.
As the first major boss he was the only one that took me 3 attempts, all others being less. He's defo a wall, but I detest grinding.
You buy a magatama that blocks force just before fighting him, have that equipped. Stack loads of buffs and debuffs as usual.
Literally every big fight = spend the first few turns buffing and debuffing. You'll have to adjust accordinly as some bosses clear buffs more often, some dont at all.
>not gameplay
There's something about the controls of ICO and SOTC that are just satisfying entirely by themselves. weird mix between a more outlandish platformer and a more subdued action adventure game like prince of persia. It just feels good to leep and stumble from ledge to ledge.
The gameplay of 2 is good though because it lends itself well to the tense atmosphere the game is trying to create. My only complaint is that the monsters don’t really pose much of a threat.
Pretty much the whole TES series. Makes discussing criticism really difficult since so much of what makes the games good to some people is based heavily on very subjective feelings. You would be a millionaire if you got a dollar for every time someone said "comfy" in a TES thread.
This is my feeling about Bethesda games and most open-world games in general, I spend hours upon hours trapped inside that Skinner box and when I'm done playing I can't recall doing a single fun thing.
What do you mean more examples? You haven't posted one yet.
sir good morning sir enjoy video games sir
Sotc is amazing to play.
This is accurate,though
Both are perfect and their gameplay is excellent
The gameplay is janky as hell but you can get used to it (it's still not good though), it's the level design that's irredeemable trash.
SotC is the most popular Team ICO game specifically because of it's more appealing gameplay.

Not every game has to meet some imaginary time limit. Frick people who think that
At least for me. I didn't give a frick about the gameplay. I was there to jam to the music.
gameplay is as good as the music
Shit you mean?
>
gameplay is shit you will only be repeating the same 2 combos
light/light/light/heavy attacks or /heavy/heavy/heavy/heavy
the only good part of the gameplay are the bosses because you have to dodge and parry several times
None of these games have actual gameplay.
I don’t see any overrated games there.
ALL nintendo games
This
They are still more based than snoys
Does SOTC run decently on PCSX2 now or are there still a ton of issues?
Huh? The gameplay is fine. More than fine, in fact. It feels good to climb giant stuff and stab it to death.
Gee it sure is Contrarian O'Clock in here.
this
pokemon is 90% gameplay anon
20 year old stale gameplay everyone wishes would evolve but they will still buy substandard games with the name on it so it will never evolve, absolutely nobody plays pokemon because they think the gameplay is great except competitive spergs aka 0.00001% of people who play
regardless of it being stale fricking no one plays it for graphics plot or music
No they play it for the cute pokemon and because they are consoomers, definitely not for the awful gameplay everyone has begged to change for years
no one care about pokemon story people only play because the gameplay. if the gameplay was not the main focus then pokemon showdown would not be so popular, there would not be so many rom hacks and challenges like nuzlocke would not be so popular.
This is the most boring, aimless 3d platormer ever made and it got 10/10 because nintendo fans and critics are absolute fricking shills
Agree
I like Mario games, and I consider myself a Nintendo fan in general, but Mario Odyssey was just too flimsy.
Don't even try to fricking lie Ganker SMT gameplay is bashing your head against a wall, and the fans that pretend they don't constantly grind in these games/claim to have beaten bosses several lower levels that they actually were are pathetic
>I can’t do it myself therefore no one can
yeah no, stop projecting casual
>Woah RNG went in your favor after retrying it 50+ times what incredible gameplay!
there are very few instances of you having to grind in SMT and half of them are 4/4A DLC
see
so do you have examples or not

Okay, wise guy, talk us through how you beat Matador without grinding. We're listening.
>He grinded for matador
Holy shit, learn the game.
having this homie
As the first major boss he was the only one that took me 3 attempts, all others being less. He's defo a wall, but I detest grinding.

you're either very successful but or get a load of this guy :')
bait***
No you're just bad.
the music is based though
FF XIV
Pic related is buggy as shit and is nothing remarkable in the gameplay department, but people gush over the story and characters.
Honourable mention goes to RDR2.
>not gameplay

Silent Hill series but 2 especially

Soniic heroooooos
SoOnic heeeerooooos
Are you trying to start some shit or something? The gameplay is the best aspect of the game
Pretty much the whole TES series. Makes discussing criticism really difficult since so much of what makes the games good to some people is based heavily on very subjective feelings. You would be a millionaire if you got a dollar for every time someone said "comfy" in a TES thread.

I just downloaded this screenshot for another thread and it's wonderful how reusable it is for all these "bad game" threads.
bump
Gameplay is mediocre, but god damn, I love almost everything else about it.
the entirety of the survival horror genre barring Resident Evil
