All the exploration and fixing up the city would be great and they would know how to work in a story and make it worth reading too. But the genre of pet adventure World is doesn't have any experts. So I am not sure they can make that side fun.
I just want a company/dev that could pull off the proper feeling of the digimon anime within an RPG. Having cool/cute partner digimon that react to the world around you and the characters you meet/have tag along with you on your adventure, fantastical areas and realms of the digital world to explore alongside parts of the real world, proper character growth and decisions + consequences that affect how you, your friends and your partners develop a la Survive, that kind of thing.
Just a meaty and enjoyable RPG that feels like its own anime season.

What is the best game for someone unfamiliar with Digimon and who has never watched the anime? I like pretty much anything, turn based, action, puzzle, open world I don't care.
I kind of only play casually but I check new option cards on the regular and look for new angels to utilize.
I mean I know what its most current meta version looks like but when it involves throwing in yellow/red searcher for tamers and dropping big money on Lucimon I say frick it.
Plus I'm satisfied with my more defensive playstyle to justify using this lady.
