Game would have been 10/10 with just these two. They have such interesting and different backgrounds. Micheal is so generic and boring and is a third wheel.

Lamar was supposed to be a main character too
Lamar gets you set up and jumped repeatedly. I think people are sick of having a brain-dead protagonist.
Franklin is the most boring of the 3
idk ghetto homie reminds me of cj.
cj was boring too
Wrong, CJ had a great personality. Franklin is an empty shell. His only emotion is “yooo these homies crazy”
Yup. Franklin has no personality idk how anyone can say he's interesting.
I think Franklin was supposed to have more of a story with Stretch, you know the guy who you meet in one mission then don't see again until Micheal goes to take him out in the option C ending. I think a lot of Franklin stuff was cut.
franklin is basically a non-character
it has the same issue cyberpunk has
"do one thing, suddenly you're just IN. Just accept that's normal"
There's pretty much no progression
Why would they even meet? Trevor was a fricking desert goblin and Franklin was stuck in his trashcan LA neighborhood. Their locations IRL would been a 160 mile drive away from each other. Theres no reason for Trevor to leave not-Salton Sea if he didn't see Michael on TV.
There are a million scenarios where they could meet anon. The hard part is writing a good story.
>There are a million scenarios where they could meet
Pitch one.
NTA but some Los Santos gang jacked one of Trevor's shipments or fricked with his business somehow. Trevor goes to frick shit up in that gang and in the process of doing so, runs into Franklin. Multiple different options, for example Franklin could have been walking Chop & be seen as a witness Trevor chases down. Franklin could block Trevor's car, causing Trevor to get pissed and chase Franklin repeatedly ramming his car. Hell it could have been a tow truck mission, Trevor parked in the middle of the road so tow truck was called up to tow it away & Trevor has to track down the motherfricker that towed it.
Another avenue is to have Franklin go closer to Trevor, for example Simeon could have paid Franklin to make a delivery close that area, Trevor sees the car and wants it so he jacks it and Franklin (obviously) has to get the car back because otherwise he's in deep shit with Simeon.
Micheal is alright but his family is shit. They have better interactions with Franklin and Trevor than with him.
>Micheal is so generic
i liked him for the most part but still decided to kill him at the end just to free him from his nightmarish family. The scenes with them trying to patch things up and be a family again were fricking awful.
michael is the only one with a remotely interesting character or story. franklin is alright but a bit too generic and doesn't feel like he makes a single decision in the game
trevor is just le epic cuhrazey reddit quip character.
>hahahah he is le cannibal and talks about piss and shit xD
frick you
Gta6 needs a Ganker quip characzer
On the contrary, the game would have been fine with just Michael, these two sucks
all 3 are boring as frick.
You need shit to make good shit pop. You need darkness to see the light
What the hell are you talking about? Franklin is the most boring character of all, he's barely even a character. Trevor is the 'le psychopath redditor XDXD" while Michael is the best character in the game.
The average American who abandoned his past and turned into a failed cuck who only serves to financially support his family, with no respect from his wife, children, and friends. Completely demoralized, unmotivated, and without dreams, he only watches the days go by as if he had no agency in his life, like a leaf being carried by the wind until it finds its destiny
I actually like trevor because he is the perfect contrast to michael. Michael gave everything up to try and get a normal life and is miserable because of it. Trevor simply did not give a single frick and kept doing what he was good at and having the time of his life despite objectively being in a much worse state than Michael is.
I think Michael on his own is a decent character and Trevor on his own is a bad character but when put together they're both great.
the fact that this thread has supporters of the three characters just says that the characters are fine and the only thing is that everyone just picks the ones with the personalities he/she likes.
that being said, i wish the character switch mechanic wasn't done as it was, or at least there were more story missions. this game's biggest fault is not fleshing the characters more.
where's the franklin supporter?
>Micheal is so generic and boring
Ironic how you say that when Franklin has the personality of a plank of wood.
I can't believe we still have these threads after 10 years later.
>Micheal is so generic and boring and is a third wheel
you completely missed the whole idea of GTA V's core meta concept
Michael and Franklin are way more interesting characters than Trevor. Trevor is just the "lol so random" comedic relief character.
what's interesting about Franklin
How is this hard for people to understand?
Franklin - urban youth who is culturally and socially oppressed by the local police force (ostensibly falsely incriminated)
Trevor - ex-military conspiracy theorist who got screwed by the government for opportunities (and therefore resources)
Michael - city slicker who achieved his funds less than legally, eligible for revenue investigation (or potential blackmailing)
They are united by their common hatred for the law and their shared interest in disavowing the agencies. In an overtly raunchy fashion; they find themselves ironically working coherently with the very same bureaus that would exploit them. That's the whole theme.
