The looker > The witness
>The Looker is a single-player game that respects you as an intelligent player, and it treats your time as... reasonably valuable (I mean, don't let me pull you off solving the Riemann hypothesis or anything). As such, I will level with you here—not every joke will be a hit, but there is no filler material, the puzzles are fun, and, if you really think about it, aren't the real solutions the, uhh... friends we make along the way?

Especially when the little light projector comes out of the bigger one, with the mirrors. Wasn't expecting to laugh so hard. But I think you have to play The Witness to get most of it

its audio logs are pretentious and the sound area is bullshit but other than that I loved the games puzzles, especially the final area.
I struggle with pitches too, but thankfully I can discern them well enough to manage. Which of the esteemed scientists, philosophers, and poets did you think were pretentious?
That 5 minute one on top of the mountain was pretty annoying.

my problem is i'll take a long break from this game, come back, and then theres some puzzles im not even sure if ive solved or not. some of them you can turn the screen off and clear the puzzle after you solve it the first time.
The obelisks track your progress with the environmental puzzles.

I prefer The Witness, but The Talos Principle is a good game too. Haven't played it in a while.

I am playing through it now and I find the setting boring as well as the puzzles, especially some of the stars so far. literally just walk around looking behind walls until you find the star, then walk around some more looking behind everything until you find the switch that opens the gate to depower the field. I am assuming with the boring pseud story there is going to be some subversion of expectation soon where everything is actually an illusion!!!! but man is it taking long, these mine puzzles and minigun puzzles are not really doing anything for me.
