We don't know that yet. Their ideals could just be good intentioned on the ultimate result, but they are fatalists who don't consider other non destructive alternatives.
From the way he talked about "old world" in the end, it seems like they want to make things work based off some previous established thing, which for all we know, is just a misguided attempt at "going back to the good old days" because their god is a delusioned fricker. Ouroboros seems to want to avoid some ultimate end world scenario, or at least that's the implication. It kinda fits with the whole "fake sky" they have going on in Genshin.

I don't know why but last night I suddenly felt like building Keaya because I finally tried him with Barbara and Chong (and Yelan) and he's actually pretty fun with the perma freeze he has going.

It seems like the main message of the game is that you can survive without gods but there's nothing wrong with respecting them and their power even if they cause conflicts or issues. The Harbingers themselves seem to want to recreate the world like it was back in Khaenri'ah when humans ruled through their own power instead of the Archons so that they wouldn't need to rely on Archons. They don't seem to have any issue with the actual Archons themselves as shown by Zhongli just handing his chess piece over, they just don't want them to have the power to influence people or something.
Enkanomiya was about a civilization that had a god that cared about humanity but when it fell from its god it suffered from human corruption.
Khaenri'ah was about a civilization without gods, only Science™. Dain is also not fond of gods even if he tolerates them.
Liyue is about a civilization that lived in tune with their god but moved on from its protection even though they're still in good standing with his Adepti.
Aether in indifferent to gods in terms of worship but has no issues with them outside of the qt who separated him and Lumine.
Then you have Lumine who doesn't trust the gods at all because of her experiences not only from the qt but also from wandering Teyvat for who knows how long who wants to effectively rid the world of them and rule humanity through her own means.
Khaenri'ah and the abyss soldiers you find in the chasm seem to imply that humans were on top, and the gods "descended" to destroy them and impose a new order.

I have cleared them all 100% underleveled as a completely new player with only Yelan as anything resembling a damage dealer. You don't need good teams at all, at most you just need something that deals decent damage. I don't even use my fourth character for anything but puzzles, it's like 30 levels below everyone.

It seems like the main message of the game is that you can survive without gods but there's nothing wrong with respecting them and their power even if they cause conflicts or issues. The Harbingers themselves seem to want to recreate the world like it was back in Khaenri'ah when humans ruled through their own power instead of the Archons so that they wouldn't need to rely on Archons. They don't seem to have any issue with the actual Archons themselves as shown by Zhongli just handing his chess piece over, they just don't want them to have the power to influence people or something.
Enkanomiya was about a civilization that had a god that cared about humanity but when it fell from its god it suffered from human corruption.
Khaenri'ah was about a civilization without gods, only Science™. Dain is also not fond of gods even if he tolerates them.
Liyue is about a civilization that lived in tune with their god but moved on from its protection even though they're still in good standing with his Adepti.
Aether in indifferent to gods in terms of worship but has no issues with them outside of the qt who separated him and Lumine.
Then you have Lumine who doesn't trust the gods at all because of her experiences not only from the qt but also from wandering Teyvat for who knows how long who wants to effectively rid the world of them and rule humanity through her own means.
Khaenri'ah and the abyss soldiers you find in the chasm seem to imply that humans were on top, and the gods "descended" to destroy them and impose a new order.

It still baffles me that they can write background lore, and even drop hints like with Mt.shivering robots having coding they spout out that can be translated into a coherent lore hint, but their characters, and the main story itself is so weirdly bland.

I have cleared them all 100% underleveled as a completely new player with only Yelan as anything resembling a damage dealer. You don't need good teams at all, at most you just need something that deals decent damage. I don't even use my fourth character for anything but puzzles, it's like 30 levels below everyone.
