Genuinely puzzled why Noivern isn't one of the most popular Pokémon of all time. When I think "embodiment of Dragon Type" like what Machamp and Alakazam are to their own respective Types, I don't think of Dragonite or Salamence, I think of Noivern

really difficult to use ingame as it evolves really late, also is a kalos pokemon
48 is earlier than most pseudos and Unovamons. It evolves late, but it doesn't evolve really late by any metric and in its debut games it evolves just a few levels after you catch it (or the level after, if you got it in Victory Road).
Charizard's a salamander crossed with a dinosaur, not a dragon.
Neither salamander nor dinosaurs had wings. Checkmate, atheists.
TN: according to paleontological classification, dinosaurs can be generally described as archosaurs with hind limbs held erect beneath the body. Thus flying and swimming extinct reptiles from the same time period (pterosaurs, mosasaurs, ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs) are not considered dinosaurs.
well that's just you being weird
Noivern isn't just a dragon it is THE dragon of this franchise and if you think different yur dumb
What else we got? Barney? Salamander? Slug Barney? Frick you, Noivern is THE dragon
Fug is THE dragon
Nah. Duraludon is.
>When I think "embodiment of Dragon Type"
I think of Charizard. Noivern is a wyvern. Wyverns are not dragons, they are a separate species.
Dragons are fictional creatures and dungeons and dragons doesn't decide what is and isn't a dragon for all mediums.
Since the sixteenth century, in English, Scottish, and Irish heraldry wyvern and dragon are completely different beings. It's like saying that whale is a fish.
its exactly why i hate numons
>bat and dragon blends exponentially well together and doesn't need anything else to be simple but effective dragon design
>but then a completely unnecessary and moronic looking ear speaker gimmick is slapped onto it just because
what a shame
>An animal that relies on echolocation gets a sound-gimmick
>Slapped on
No aesthetic taste. Go back to Discord.
Noivern is unlewdable, that's her ruin!
stop being a dumb pleb FOR ONCE
>her
wrong
Its not a dragon, its a wyvern
Wyverns are a type of dragon, you absolute double-digit IQs
Yes, but bats aren't
Your point is?
What?
It is a zubat alt skin
I caught two in an X save and bred a new one for a save in Y. I've had it since the start of the game and will be able to use it on my team the whole way through. It's my fav dragon.
Its theme is the SOUND, so no. It's not a regular Dragon.
Wyverns are literally "more dragon" than any "normal" dragon.
Noivern is based but if you think anything other than Salamence is the archetypal Dragon mon i don't know what to tell you.
wyverns aren't as cool as dragons, sorry i don't make the rules
Charizard is more dragon than any dragon type pokemon
Have you seen it? Its ugly af
It's awful to use in an actual playthrough, although I like the design a lot. I couldn't use it until Leon in Sword and there it was still an underperformer.
I just see a lizard bat. I don't really think of a dragon.
Plus I don't really like his design that much, the wings, ears and feet are just weird. It Barely look like a dragon at all.
It evolves way too late.
If it evolved at level 30 it'd be only slightly on the strong side.
>The wyverns are not dragons argument again
The snake looking Asian dragons are dragons, and they don't even have wings normally.
Big fatty fat fat-fat dragons are dragons, and their wings and limbs are ornamental.
Suck an egg.
>The wyverns are not dragons argument again
It isn't an argument, it's a meme.
This thing is colored like a fricking fursuit with the blue green shades.
I never noticed this before and I wish I stayed that way. what the frick.
Are you for real?
ugly ass Pokemon
YOU'RE AN UGLY ASS POKEMON
Looks like a big zubat.
Pathetic
Noivern is one of my absolute favorite Pokemon, top 6 for sure. Too bad it's so underrated and underused.
Noivern is great, but Dragon Pokemon are usually known for their power. Noivern excels more at Speed or utilities like Tailwind or Super Fang. It's not bad, and even kind of unique, but people will usually gravitate to something that's "tough" like Garchomp.
Stats for reference. Fricking crazy Speed, but Special Attack is barely scratching 100.
>When I think "embodiment of Dragon Type" like what Machamp and Alakazam are to their own respective Types, I don't think of Dragonite or Salamence, I think of Noivern
For me it's Fug. If we are not counting legendaries it's garchomp or Haxorus. If we aren't counting pseudos it's Tyrantrum.
When normies think of the "embodiment of dragon type" they think of Charizard, simple as.
>inb4 not dragon type
Doesn't matter, it looks more dragon than most dragon types.
Because CHARIZARD is what people think of when they think "Dragon Pokemon".
now its popular
Noivern is a good dragon type but I wouldn’t call it ‘the embodiment’ of the type nor even call it close.
To me that’s be a Pokémon that looks fearsome, has high offensive power, destructive capabilities and has all the traditional “dragon” qualities that should be expected of the type (has wings, can fly, breathe fire, powerful roar, etc).
While It’s far from my favorite, personally, I’d say that the quintessential dragon type is probably Salamence. Even if one thinks the wings are a little silly, they still fit the design and don’t hinder how cool it looks. It helps that it has intimidate, so people in-universe certainly find it, well, intimidating. Helps that he’s frequently used as the ace of dragon type trainers.
If not him, then runners-up would be Garchomp (an odd concept for a dragon and lacks traditional wings but has everything else), Fug (he’s Fug), Hydreigon (probably the best ‘evil’ dragon design in the series), and Haxorus (similar reasons to Chomp but he can’t fly). Personal favorite dragon is Kommo-o, but as much of a Chad that Clanger is I don’t think he’s “the” dragon type. He’s just a really fricking cool one.
Noivern's dragon typing is secondary. Primarily, its a bat
Remove Noivern's tail and its literally just a big bat
I like noivern but he literally just looks like a big ass slender bat, not really a dragon
China virus originated from bats in china
its because its stats arent that impressive for the level you get it. the only stat that breaks 100 is speed
if it were an early route mon that evolved at say, level 20-25, it would be more popular I think. but it undermines expectations in a bad way when you're usually waiting till after the 8th badge to use it
not to mention there are countless much more powerful dragons in this game
