Armored core as a series has got nothing on the Prime games. Nobody ever gave a shit about AC series. It's enjoyable for what it is but it's not a fricking cult classic. Never was, never will be.
nobody said anything about it being popular. are you implying armored core, as a series, is a cult classic? it's not even the best mech game series, let alone in general. you guys are just obcessed with fromsoft now, that's all it is. is AC6, this exact game was released by someone else you wouldn't even consider it for GOTY. You'd enjoy it, but it's not a GREAT game. Games like AC6 used to get scores of 7 or 7.5 back in the day. Rightfully so

Again you keep falling back on fallacious thinking.
>IT'S NOT A CULT CLASSIC >THE GAME JOURNALISTS DON'T LIKE IT! >YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT THE BRAND NAME!
You're not actually judging the game by its own merits.

I'll end this conversion with the following. If instead of AC6 fromsoft had released Lies of P, the exact same game you got, you would say it's GOTY.

I don't care about names or brand recognition or who made the game. I got a fun robot action game, which I consider GOTY. Runnerup to that is a super fun pizza-based platformer that had no previous IP or brand recognition behind it.
That destroys your argument.

The irony is that I don't even hate Metroid. I love Prime and the remaster is competent enough. It just isn't my GOTY.
Metroid Dread was a fricking DS game in it's scope. Lame by the numbers ''metroidvania'', if you paid full price for it then I'm fricking sorry. it had nothing that contemperaries on steam didn't have, and they're half the price.
>shit tier exploration >moronic chase segments in a metroidvania >reused mini bosses >no interesting new upgrades aside from flash shift (a dodge prime already had) >absolutely moronic story >shit music >poor environments >did nothing new with world mechanics, same old super hidden blocks >looks worse and performs worse with longer load times despite being 2D and looking worse than prime remaster
no, prime R makes dread look like an amateur project, only the boss battles are better
no, rooms load almost instantly except for the one that leads to the chozo artifact statue room where you fight ridley. The intro scenes were also sped up for each area. Game is a solid 60FPS without dips like Dread
Damn right. Metroid Prime is one of those pieces of media that's a classic for a reason. This is legit my #1 favorite video game, and it feels damn good to see a new generation appreciating it.
I must agree with this. I can look over and see my copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy right now, which I purchased for $50(Remember when games cost 50 bucks? I do.). It's more than a bit cheeky of Nintendo to sell Remaster for $40, like they're gonna sell off the trilogy piecemeal, likely offering a Trilogy version with all three afterwards.
remake in 2004 >complete reimagining of the entire game with the best core gameplay of any Metroid before or after, 2 new areas, like 5 new bosses, tons of new powerups, hard mode, expanded ending gallery for low% and 100%, and even includes the original version as a bonus
remake in 2023 >we made the graphics debatably better and added a new button mapping

Nta but there are a lot of games that get released as 'remastered' now when it just the same game with different color grading and a few new models to make it look updated.
It's a glorious time to be a Metroid fan lately. For some reason, Nintendo suddenly decided to give a shit about this franchise, and it's been really quite nice.
>Nintendo shits out a soulless plastic action figure slopmaster of a two decade old game that completely ruins the aesthetic and atmosphere of the original for full price >but tendies slurped it up and thanked Nintendo because it's Metroid Prime
Hopeless, all of you
>explore place >find powerup >backtrack to earlier place >find poweruo >backtrack to where you found the first powerup >progress a little further >repeat the entire game >end with a shitty backtrack quest across the entire game while you find the artifacts
Game is shit, the only thing good about it is that it's visually very pretty, especially for when it released.
What made it great was the feeling of discovering alien lands, a mix of exploration and combat that, when well done as it was with Prime, gave that feeling of plunging into another universe.
place >>find powerup
to earlier place >>find poweruo
to where you found the first powerup
a little further
the entire game >>end with a shitty backtrack quest across the entire game while you find the artifacts
Aw yeah, it's gaming time!
We got one Metroid game after years of dormancy. It's nice but it's hardly the 2002-2007 glory years.
True. The oughts were absolutely the high point of the franchise. Banger after banger ensured a healthy fanbase.
It's easy to forget we just got two games after nearly a 10 year drought.
One of those games being fricking Dread of all things.
No one cares. You guys are so threatened by other games being considered GOTY contenders because, without some arbitrary award ceremony that means nothing, Baldur's Gate 3 really has nothing going for it.
Where the frick do these dumb timesplitters gays come from? it literally had nothing on Halo 1 and 3, the BEST console shooters. you're the kid that was trying to get us to put Turok Evolution in while we were having fun in Halo 2's ascencion map. shut up b***h.
Unreal Championship 2 was also superior to Timesplitters.
Right? It's been two years since that happened, and I still have a hard time accepting it sometimes. the fact it was really damn good only adds to the surrealism.
It's impressive how well they were able to match the artstyle. Before seeing side by side comparisons it was hard for me to tell just how much they actually upgraded the visuals because the art direction is nearly identical.
I don't know. It hurts seeing Metroid fans act like the same console warring children that used to hate metroid for not selling as much as Mario or Pokemon. What compels them to act in such an obnoxious manner?
Prime 2 remaster next year, Prime 3 remaster in 2025, Metroid 5 around 2026, Federation Force remake probably in 2027
Nintendo will keep doing this until Prime 4 is ready for some trailers
That's like 20 years later, and I still mistook the original screenshot for the remaster. Whatever Retro did, they should do that all the time.
No company has that much talent anymore.
good game.
BG3 will win. Doesn't deserve it. not because it's a bad game or anything, it isn't. But nobody will give a shit about in 3 years.
I mean GOTY for actual humans, not the goyslop awards.
Then it still falls short compared to other games like Pizza Tower and Armored Core 6.
Armored core as a series has got nothing on the Prime games. Nobody ever gave a shit about AC series. It's enjoyable for what it is but it's not a fricking cult classic. Never was, never will be.
>IT'S NOT POPULAR, THEREFORE IT'S BAD
Ironic coming from a Metroid thread.
nobody said anything about it being popular. are you implying armored core, as a series, is a cult classic? it's not even the best mech game series, let alone in general. you guys are just obcessed with fromsoft now, that's all it is. is AC6, this exact game was released by someone else you wouldn't even consider it for GOTY. Metroid Dread was better
>SOUL vs SOULLESS
Super mogs btw.
Baldur;s Gate 3 has won, it's over. admit it.
Metroid Dread was a fricking DS game in it's scope. Lame by the numbers ''metroidvania'', if you paid full price for it then I'm fricking sorry. it had nothing that contemperaries on steam didn't have, and they're half the price.
>using DS game as an insult
Go away AAA bottom feeder.
If you weren't a poorgay and had a console and PC at the time, you knew the DS was just a timewaster with hardly anything good. don't deny it.
BG3 will obviously win the official goyslop awards to top off the astroturf campaign. That isn't what this thread is about.
>BG3 will win because all popular games are trash
>Armored Core 6 is shit because it's not popular enough
>shit tier exploration

Doesn't Prime R chug compared to the original or was I tricked by Ganker again?
no, rooms load almost instantly except for the one that leads to the chozo artifact statue room where you fight ridley. The intro scenes were also sped up for each area. Game is a solid 60FPS without dips like Dread
Ridley's boss arena loads so slow in the original that I thought it froze a couple times.
Other M has a better gameplay loop than Dread.
Basado
>Only for nintendo gamecube
And Nintendo Wii
And Nintendo Wii U
And Nintendo Switch
And PC
shhh that's supposed to be a secret
Damn right. Metroid Prime is one of those pieces of media that's a classic for a reason. This is legit my #1 favorite video game, and it feels damn good to see a new generation appreciating it.
#2 for me
#1 is OoT
There are two big posters of each in my GAYMUR room.
>ruined the lighting
>ruined the doors
>goty
No.
I agree with the lighting but what’s wrong with the doors?
stupid hyperbolic gay
SOUL vs soulless
Yup. It’s that good. Sucked me again even though overall the GC version is better.
Prime is great, but it wasn't even GOTY back when it came out.
>not remaking 2 and 3
frick nintendo
It hasn't been long enough to lose hope yet.
I must agree with this. I can look over and see my copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy right now, which I purchased for $50(Remember when games cost 50 bucks? I do.). >we made the graphics debatably better and added a new button mapping
This. People really like to slop up graphics for some reason.
>and added a new button mapping
Which is all Prime needed.

There's Black folk in Metroid Prime Remastered?
>SHEESH ITS BEEN A WHILE PRINCESS
>That's my house Black, Anthony.
For some reason, I thought you were doing Slowbeef's Ridley. Now I can't unhear it.
>IT'S A LIVIN'!
I watched those let's plays too many times
I guess it's time to remind them again.
>Game not called a 'remake' in any official material
>Game literally has REMASTERED on the cover
yo dis remake b bussin fr fr
>tlou remastered
>not in the remastered section
lmao at whatever tard made this
Nta but there are a lot of games that get released as 'remastered' now when it just the same game with different color grading and a few new models to make it look updated.
Because it's not a remaster, it just tries to sell itself as one.
It's a glorious time to be a Metroid fan lately. For some reason, Nintendo suddenly decided to give a shit about this franchise, and it's been really quite nice.

It what happens when you don't accept slop. Imagine the state of the Metroid franchise if everyone just accepted Other M and Federation Force.

GotY in 2002 for PS2, XB, and GC is TimeSplitters 2 you fricking homosexual. have a nice day.
Where the frick do these dumb timesplitters gays come from? it literally had nothing on Halo 1 and 3, the BEST console shooters. you're the kid that was trying to get us to put Turok Evolution in while we were having fun in Halo 2's ascencion map. shut up b***h.

What parallel universe did I slip into where Dread actually released?
@658522670
have a nice day
What's the correlation between being a gamecubegay and having an obsessive personality?
I don't know. It hurts seeing Metroid fans act like the same console warring children that used to hate metroid for not selling as much as Mario or Pokemon. What compels them to act in such an obnoxious manner?
Prime 2 remaster next year, Prime 3 remaster in 2025, Metroid 5 around 2026, Federation Force remake probably in 2027

They can still do a Metroid Prime Hunters remaster too. So we can say 2028
>MP1 is 21 years old
the remasters are pointless
you can remaster the game yourself using dolphin
same. remaster releases don't even register in my mind. I forgot that they remastered Metroid Prime until this thread
