This reminds me of when I watched game grumps, theres an series of him play Super Mario Sunshine, and he was really struggling to do anything. He used the excuse of "I'm bad because I haven't played this game in many years". I never understood how that's an excuse, because when the game was new he had NEVER played it before. From that moment, I knew his opinions were invalid.
He put forward his opinions and points in an interesting way. Thats basically all you need. it doesnt matter if he was right or wrong, it was entertaining and was a good way of seeing his point of view on a subject while he obviously put effort into this content.
It reminds me of Star_ and his basically videos. Where it was 100% more effort and they were much better videos, but he had hissy fits about how they werent as popular as TF2 clip #2031 so decided never to do what he liked or put effort into again
But when he makes claims about objective game design and then proves he doesn't know what he talks about >Claim: Sliding traps offer no warning when approaching >Fact: They make an AUDIO cue not a visual one >Claim: Jumping is not hard >Fact: He fails repeatedly at jumping in every Zelda >Claim: Observational puzzles are not puzzles >Fact: He has gotten stuck on SEVERAL "look to the right and hit a switch" type puzzle
You CAN make claims but you have to be able to take criticism too.
Oh yeah I 100% agree, but my point is that the videos themselves are entertaining, full of unironic soul and his opinion and points put forward in a way that isnt a boring homosexual 2 hour essay.
Its similar to Dunkey and, as I said, Star_ in that once you take their content as opinion pieces (even though they try to put forward their points as objective fact and use a lot of misleading clips to muddy what a game is actually like) its way better. If youre unironically trying to argue against Egoraptors points then I personally think youre watching the videos wrong.
>If you judge a video where a guy makes points AS a video where a guy makes points, you're just watching it wrong, you're just supposed to laugh when he says poopy and not think about the baseless things he's saying
First one is still wrong since you can't see where it's coming from. And yeah, "LOOK HERE AND SHOOT THING" is still shit. You're right about the second one.
I just got beating both recently, and with all honesty as not a nintendo fanboy in any instance, Link to the Past is a fricking dumpster fire piece of shit game for little frick boys. Only boomers who grew up with LttP must think its good or moron "retro gamers" who mindlessly follow boomers.
OOT blows it out of the fricking water on literally every instance. LttP is a messy unorganized piece of shit with awful level design. I swear to god the later dungeons in LttP are more of a chore than an actual fun videogame.
Plenty of people basically agree with this. LttP deserves a certain amount of respect for 'advancing' Zelda by introducing elements that later games would do better, but it's so completely outdone by all the other Zeldas on either side of it's release that there's honestly not much point to actually playing it over them.
If you look at Jonathan Blow's interviews, you notice quick that most of Arin's "game design knowledge" comes from Blow. The difference is that Blow is actually very intelligent.
Isnt this the dude who sperged out on the og newgrounds people and when he got called out for being one of the main racists/fricked up jokers sperged out even more?
Growing up is realizing he's trans 🙂
>growin upis entering useless discussions about children video-games
>I told you to stop trashing Sonic but you just didn't listen. Take THIS!
All that you needed to know was gained from actually watching him play zelda on screen. He is actually moronic
I didn't watch much but seeing him struggle with the opening for windwaker was really something

>UGH POOPY DICKHOLE FRICKNUGGET THIS GAME IS LIKE BAD CAUSE I HAVE TO WAIT AND SHEEIT
Why did anyone listen to this moron
He is absolutely correct in his opinion that ocarina is overrated trash and no amount of seething will change this

Keep saying it

Link to the Past feels like an adventure. Ocarina of Time keeps telling you what to do.

ive never played OT or LTTP and i think hes right
I really loved Ego when he was still doing animations and voices, such a good and fun guy. People change I guess.
Growing up is having never watched this video or any eceleb's review of any game before.
This go was never funny even in new grounds. Just a bunch of yelling and lolsorandumb humour. Total hack
Yet he inspired a generation of animators.
Sad, isn't it.
