The one thing that confuses me about Vengeance is how much of the new content is going to be incorporated into the old storyline, and whether or not the old storyline will even be worth touching as a new player.
The old storyline is going to be the original game + new demons and new sidequests. It's basically only there to avoid an SMTIVA situation. Like this you have the OG game and the new story in one package.
AFAIK Vengeance is basically like purchasing 4 and 4A as a single game and you select which one you want to play at the start.

I won't rule you out, but I wonder why we'd be able to get Abdiel. Tsukiyomi just about makes sense since there's a smaller degree of separation (what with Susanoo and Tsuki being brothers), but if Abdiel is an option? Then who can't we form a Nahobino with? That can just break the lore they established if they abuse it
They could always asspull Amaterasu and have her be the Law Nahobino. I thought it was surprising that there was a mainline game without BOTH Masakado and Amaterasu.
Otherwise, it would make sense for Abdiel to sub in since if you look at the Tsukuyomi Aramasa equivalent, it's Light element. The most powerful Aogami attacks are Almighty. A fused Abdiel would almost definitely be Dark element, especially considering her Fallen form.

It’s a completely separate story. You can choose the story from the first game though, but we don’t know if they made any alterations to it yet.
It's a new story from the halfway point of the original game. Like many other people, my opinion of the OG's story is that it was literally unfixable, so I'm completely fine with this (as long as the new one is good, obviously).

Somewhat low, Shekinah Glory is the name of the Miracle God has created to allow Tokyo to keep existing. If the new dungeon we see is the Nexus of this Miracle, it could be possible we see Shekinah being attacked by the Qadistu and fight a corrupted version of Her. Otherwise, She's not in.

If you can play it at 4k 60fps or planning on buying the Switch version of SMTVV, then just play the original. The story barely matters and if you like it, you can buy it next time you will replay it. Only reason to wait is to play it on better platforms or you really liked the original. Atlus re-releases rarely improve over the original significantly.

Mainline SMT games are very interesting to me because to me it's a always feels like the game doesn't like you. It does not want you to have fun. You have to pry the fun from the games cold clammy fingers. But when you do, and you get a basically an entire extra round on your first turn and you just annihilate whatever your fighting and don't give them a turn. It feels amazing because you've been on the receiving of that before, so it tastes so much more sweeter.

Steam may be good for now. But other companies havent been. Blizzard takes all your games away if you are banned. If a friend comes over to your house regularly to program with you and they get banned, Google may flag your account as an associated account and will even block your cellphone usage if you use them for cell phone service.

Something you have to keep in mind is that for most of the series, Law and Chaos doesn't REALLY mean "stability but with no free will vs free will but destruction", that's just morally how it plays out. In most of the games, Law is YHVH and his forces, Chaos is Lucifer and the demons of Hell, and Neutral most importantly is the pagan and indigineous religions of the world pushed aside by Christian dominance. This is pretty consistent in the games and the one time they inverted it, where the angels sides with Chaos in 3, it makes perfect sense because in reality Law has always believed in might makes right the way Chaos does, they just believe Law should be the mightiest forever. So of course in a world where they're no longer in charge, they'd side with the person that's the quickest path to them taking over again.
