Guys what should I do? RTW

I'm trapped on Kydonia and Rhodes, 79542 in debt. Any advice? Can I still recover?

    Go to Egypt and exterminate-

    >no ships

Never mind, you're fricked unless you want to disband your armies and wait 100 turns to be in the green. How did you get this way to begin with?

LMAO amazing. If you have no ships is it even possible to wait so many turns to get money back? Or cause a rebellion and then exterminate your own cities? But that wouldn't get you nearly enough cash.
Curious like said, how can you even rack up that much debt and have nothing to show for it, quite impressive.

Does he still whine everytime something goes slightly wrong?I stopped watching him when he started to focus on warhammer.

He mellowed out a bit over the last year. It's a bit of a bummer actually, I liked him insulting people, but I think it was messing him up and he knew it.

It's going to be about 150 turns before he's solvent again and the campaign will probably be over. He could disband every troop but then he'll have public order problems because he can't build a single building and disbanding the troops will skyrocket the population. This might actually unsalvageable. I would encourage him going for the "moral victory" in which he disbands troops until he's in the green, build a fleet and a modest force, and then sack Rome to save the Mediterranean before the game ends.

It's funny knowing that Anon's campaign began with this epic intro.

I don't even know how you get here. The AI is practically begging you to 1-turn siege their near-empty cities in RTW

OP is either Greek IRL and too moronic to handle money or he intentionally did this.

Theres a cheat that lets you switch to another faction, which i know because someone once played a seleucid campaign until they almost wiped out all the romans and then switched to julii and uploaded it to totalwarcenter as a "challenge savefile"
Judging by the fact that Macedon is still alive, OP probably just played a very weird and passive campaign with them and then just turned into Greece to make a funny thread

Because CA didn't want there to be too many Hellenistic factions, it's also why Egypt is so anachronistic. Somehow they were okay with making three nearly-identical Romes.

Faction variety is pretty lacking across all factions in RTW but three different Romans was likely just an advertisement and balance thing, if a unified Rome started with all the land the AI would easily steamroll newer players.

Rome has more content than other factions and would be OP if unified. Splitting it allows beginning players to start on a smaller scale and they can choose which direction to conquer in. Playing as one faction and trying to outdo the others is like being a Roman general trying to win power for himself while outwardly serving the Republic. It's a neat idea and they should add mechanics for future games to play as a sub-faction rather than an entire country and make taking over the whole country a faster process than conquering each city one by one (like winning a certain amount of battles ends the civil war and annexes everything).

              >muh campaign
Don’t care, the AI is an absolute joke and the only way to possibly have a challenge in the game is in multiplayer, where the actual total war gameplay focus should be.

It's been 'the focus' for some time but no one cares about it anyway.

Them and Pontus were meant to be playable. If you edit the text file to make them playable you'll notice on the faction selection screen that out of all the AI factions Pontus and Macedon are the only ones with a proper faction description. At some point before release CA decided to make them unplayable though.

That's a lie. Cappadocian cavalry is on the same level as cataphracts and bronze shields are around the same tier as silver shields

sure but lower tiers are total garbage, you can go around this hiring mercenaries but AI can't
didn't bronze shields had only 160 vs 240 of other phalangites units?
