Nice one, pretending to be moronic.
corridor level design means you put one corridor after another, so there is no confusion about where to go, aka Final Fantasy XIII, aka Half-Life.
That's not the case in Doom. Anyone saying otherwise is a liar.

No that's how the shooting works actually. You have to wait until the reticle centers to have "accurate" shots, maybe try playing the game you're commenting on instead of looking like a moron.
you can bypass the limitations of low skill shooting by just shooting in close quarters. the game doesn't apply a hit chance like a CRPG, its just reticle bloom like Rainbow Six. combine this with stupid AI that likes to charge blindly at your position and its a non-issue.
you dont need to be particularly smart to play deus ex. the AI is too stupid to take cover or lay down suppressing fire so combat can be cheesed by funneling enemies near a hallway and stealth is inconsequential because they likely won't cause damage.
it's ChatGPT Steam shills.
Half-Life was never a good game. It's gimmick was the gimmick of walking simulators, which is tons of scripting, which is anti-game.

Half-Life's good and all, but much like Super Mario 64 or Doom II, I think people should really try to branch out into the modding scene, what with all of the fanmade campaigns and TCs.

Now the base game is dogshit but maybe with some modding it can be a worthwhile pickup

It's still the stupid double shot with single pump that never made sense. >the kick does about as much as the crowbar
It's not about the damage, it's that it knocks any monster on their ass and it takes them forever to get up.
There are certain explosive barrels/boxes that always trigger a crash on some levels. It generally likes to crash with explosions and/or when a lot of decals are drawn when you gib a lot of monsters with one explosion. I just had to learn to not touch some of those and for the most part it was fine, still frustrating tho.
Because Valve is a cult, just like Apple. >And Half-Life started with this shit, and that's why it needs to be called out for setting a trend.
nah. it didnt set the trend, it was part of it. the march towards linearity and scripted sequences started with Duke Nukem 3D, and other shooters that came out in 1998 like Shogo and SiN had mostly linear levels with tons of scripted sequences BEFORE half-life.
why? turns out running around in arbitrary mazes searching for arbitrary switches and keys isnt as fun as just giving players shit to shoot and explosions to look at. simple as. want first-person exploration? play something that actually does it well, like a Looking Glass game.

Without Steam PC gaming may still be alive too.
Anyway the point is that Half-Life is a bad game and started with walking simulators, that are spectacle, but no game play.
Also see the cutscenes, where developers pretend that it's not cutscenes. But you are locked into a room and have to wait for shitty dialogue to play out, wasting your time. It's not skippable either.
In good games, all of that trash would be at least skippable, or at least it would be entertaining.
Listening to 2 homosexuals talking to another is not entertaining, it's boring and shit. And just because you can still move the camera doesn't make it not a cutscene.

It's an arena FPS with thousands of players. Stop b***hing and start fragging.
i don't think he realizes it's not the cost, the item, the cashier, the reason, the experience...
This
I don't even know what half life means in gaming, I just know that I was here when it happened
And it was hype
it was the start of "narrative driven" linear corridor "games", which is what Half-Life is.
Just a bit of time before that there were actual games like Doom or Doom 2, with complicated level design.
Not so in Half-Life. It's corridors.
It's literally Final Fantasy XIII corridors.

Half-Life has sub part shooting mechanics, and terrible platforming controls and design
That makes it objectively a bad game.
Cope
Take those mechanics out of Half-Life and put it into an experience like Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries, and they would suck.
Meanwhile RE4 mechanics are properly designed and that's why mercenaries rules.
>terrible platforming controls
god it's fine. they're perfectly serviceable for the shit the game has you do.
people need to get over first person platforming. develop a sense of spacial awareness
>perfectly serviceable
lmao
no one does first person platforming, because it's garbage and a bad idea.
you are one of those people, who pretend that Last of Us game play is great, right?
>People being happy about free game makes me angry enough to make a thread
How much you loosing on the deal?
Why did they update the original instead of the definitive Source port?
Source cucks have been btfo
>continue to support going forward
what do they mean by this?
>definitive Source port
Because it fricking sucks
I personally don't give a frick, but I'm happy for all three of the vidya boomers who are having the time of their lives replaying their old favorite.
