Halo reach had an awesome space shooter mechanics and only used them for 1/3 of a mission
it would have been so awesome to have this on more missions of featured in multiplayer somehow

wait for mods bro. it's gonna be kino
>it's gonna be garbage
Then why even wait for that? "kino" means garbage in french, right? That's why you always use it to describe shitty things? Answer me.
Kino is film in german, which Ganker started using to mean “good films” and then that spread to other boards to just mean “good”
i have started to use kino instead of based because based has lost all meaning and is literal normie trash.
So has kino.
time to steal another languages word for film
>i have started to use kino instead of based because based has lost all meaning and is literal normie trash.
Both are moronic. You are moronic.
everyone on Ganker is moronic.
Kino comes from Greek and it means “movement”, dumb anglogermcuck. You will never be European.
Stop spamming ubishit threads, you worthless gypsy. I know you're the one doing it, ubishit sucks ass bro.
I always thought that Action Sack should've had a space battle map with seraphs vs sabres. Or sabres vs sabres if balancing was a big issue.
Long Night of Solace was cool as a kid but looking back it's an exceedingly simple mission that overstays its welcome.
I agree they should have made a dogfighting multiplayer mode
Missed opportunity. Also high FPS apparently makes this mission impossible on legendary lol
I believe they fixed that issue a while back but yeah it was virtually fricking impossible on release. Same with that falcon turret section on Exodus.
Wait, what does FPS change about the space combat? I played Reach on MCC recently and this mission was kicking my ass, and I never had that issue with it on Xbox.
Not that guy, but it probably makes you take double damage. I remember that being a thing on Vanquish for PC.
The AI reacts and fires faster.
I don't know because I barely play Reach customs, but I've been on at least one map with Sabres on it.
They're a little too fast and unwieldy for multiplayer, and even tapping the map geometry will instantly kill you.
I could see some great maps being made with them. Forge world is a huge area so they could just make the maps bigger. Realistically if you clip the side of a mountain in a plane you’d be fricked so I don’t se an issue with that
>Halo reach had an awesome space shooter mechanics
Play a real space combat sim, zoomer.
like?
Freespace 2
played blazing star, star ixiom, strike suit zero, macross 30 and macross delta scramble
and i think this halo reach did it perfectly fine, not extraordinaire but it does the job.
>macross
anyone else think this sabre was designed with the vf25 in mind or just me?
Why didn't you save them?
>teleport behind gunner elite before dialogue even starts
>gun keeps shooting anyway
>savannah crashes into savannah
why didn't they just leave, like what the frick
they mention in the dialogue why, i can't really remember
It was jamming the Covy corvette's communications so they couldn't tell the Supercarrirer they were being boarded
🙁
I don’t trust 343 to fix anything
>hey should we put ourselves in one of the corvette's blind spots so it can't pound us into oblivion while our guys board it?
>nah frick that, let's pull along broadside and hope for the best!
The crew probably didn't deserve it but the captain sure as hell did.
>awesome space shooter mechanics
Now that's some consolepleb moronation if I ever heard it
It’s a perfectly fine arcade space shooter
It's a basic b***h vehicle section, it's interesting for mere moments. TIE Fighter and Rogue Squadron would blow your minds.
I played rogue squadron and the new Star Wars squadrons.
The saber fight is still fun and well made for an arcade space shooter.
I prefer descent tbh, love navigating the mines
I have only played Forsaken. I am interested in Descent multiplayer but afaik it doesn't have any active pubs across any of the games.
There's still a few communities out there. Check out Overload, it's got multiplayer and a not-quite dead community
I thought it had basically no players. As long as I can play pubs without having to go use discord.
based. this was literally my first game. fond memories of sitting on my dads lap and firing all the guns with the keyboard while he piloted the ship with duel joysticks.
you don't even know a single good space shooter
I 100% guarantee you that the random Sabre mission was Bungie playtesting mechanics for Destiny that ended up getting cut.
you're probably right. new mombasa was equally likely a proving grounds for a destiny free-roam environment
>new mombasa was equally likely a proving grounds for a destiny free-roam environment
you're probably not wrong. Joe Staten's ODST team were who started work on Destiny.
Yeah, there's also this poster that crops up throughout ODST.
>No Halo Battlefront game
>it would have been so awesome to have this on more missions of featured in multiplayer somehow
That mission was a test for Destiny, much like how a lot of Reach was a test for destiny. So the missions you're looking for got cut from Destiny.
halo reach was made on the tiger engine which they slightly modified to make destiny 1. which is why halo reach and destiny 1 have similar easthics.
They added Sabres and Seraphs to Forge.
Seriously? Then why do all the ship v ship maps only have falcons and banshees? (And flying wraiths lol)
Nothing in matchmaking does because those maps were made a decade before the former two were added.
No I mean custom games, where there are two floating “ships” and everybody flies banshees and flacons at eachother. Very fun
The damage was tied to FPS or something
Who here has ever read a halo book?
I just finished Fall of Reach and thought it was very cool.
Not canon lol
Even bungie didn’t care about the books. Frick 343 for their book autism
Cope and sneed, moron
I recommend the other bungie-era books, they're mostly bretty good
The forerunner trilogy is also based beyond belief
Thanks anon, I'm planning to hopefully read all of them. Have The Flood ready to ready for halo-kino
That's probably the worst one, honestly
There's some neat stuff in there, but get ready to subject yourself to a middle aged writer spending endless paragraphs describing a let's play of Halo CE
The only one I've read is Shadow of Intent after downloading it on a whim after learning based Halfjaw is the protagonist. It was pretty good but the depiction of Sangheili worlds as being somehow inexplicably stuck in the medieval period (complete with using literal animal-drawn carts to move stuff around) but with plasma guns and laser swords was really, really fricking dumb.
I read the first three: Fall of Reach, The Flood and First Strike. After that I read Contact Harvest and one or two others but my interest began to wane after awhile
Frick the Covenant
brutes are based
brutes are literally Black folk.
>board UNSC ship
>knock a couple of crew members unconscious and tie them up instead of killing literally everyone
>get to walk off with the ship and its ultra-valuable AI ezpz because some genius decided to make the AIs literally incapable of scuttling the ship with live humans onboard
Bit of an oversight if you ask me.
Just play ACE COMBAT.
