I loved the frick out of it but i was living in a shitty place with shitty internet so i could barely enjoy the online races.

They would have made way more money by just selling cars and characters as DLC instead of putting them in the microtransaction shop that's ridiculously easy to buy things from without paying real money. They were so greedy that they accidentally were generous.
That would have soured the positive reception that the game had.
No one actually thought the paid promotions were handled well, and making kart customization paywalled would have gone over poorly too.
It really feels like the coin shop was Activision's way of trying to milk the game but Beenox fought tooth and nail to throw the players a bone by making coin farming ridiculously easy on top of the free grand prix events.
I would've preferred no coin shop, only unlock conditions for them. But I'm still overall satisfied with the gameplay.
I wanted to believe but after they closed up Tango I just stopped giving a frick. Videogames are over and Microsoft is as shit as everyone feared.
