Ranked queue is a thing in most games, yet you see a lot of tryhards cowering out of it because they are not good enough, yet good enough to dunk on casuals in casual queue. What's the point? It's a pathetic behaviour and it does more harm than not.
Casual queue is still public. You're never going to stop the meta unless you come up with a strategy, build, or tech that radically changes said meta.
Just. Play. A. Different. Game.
Also what the frick is this "meta slave" bullshit, isn't this just one big contrarian movement to legitimize playing like shit because you're no darn meta slave?
>isn't this just one big contrarian movement to legitimize playing like shit because you're no darn meta slave?
Yes. Noobs who don't find the way a game is optimally played can't stop coping and want the game to change based on their selfish expectations.
>That kind of mentality pushes people who shouldn't even be playing away. Gatekeeping is a good thing.
Yeah let's gatekeep a game that NEEDS people to play it in order to stay relevant.

Real players don't give a shit how relevant their preferred game is. We'll still be having fun with communities of 5 people while the people who only play (Current Newest Game) bawl their eyes out over a metagame not catering to them.

Could you project any harder? You're another one of those players who refuses to improve. Stop playing video games.
>You're another one of those players who refuses to improve.
Yep, not wasting hundreds of hours to grind and optimize my gear to dunk on casuals means i refuse to improve. 100%.
I'm not playing competitive games tho. That shit stays in ranked. I know my place and sit in casual where i'm supposed to face people who just want to have fun.

It doesn't matter if the game has both "ranked" and "casual" queues. A game with RPG gear will never be a competitive game worth taking seriously.

Well, people still do take it seriously, and take their tryhard shit in casual queue. That's a party wrecker.

homie it's not a party, it's a matchmaking system. It pairs two strangers with no emotional connection together to play a game. That's it. If you want a community and emotional connection then play with friends. On some level it's the devs fault for destroying dedicated servers to better sell microtransactions, but you're still a whiny homosexual

I just want to have FUN while playing a GAME and think that the people doing the same with me in the lobby are entitled to the same. I don't think it's an absurd concept.

Maybe it's my fault. Maybe i tried to explain myself the wrong way. So here's another perspective: Would you go all out while playing basketball against middle schoolers? Of course not, you know full well they wouldn't be able to keep up, and that's just not fun. So, if you don't want to have to deal with that, you go play with people of your same skill level and leave the others to their own devices. It really is that simple. Do you understand what i'm trying to convey here now?

Maybe I wouldn't play with stupid fricking brats because I'm in control with who I play with. I don't give a frick about your excuses, you're the one who chooses who you play with and what you play. If you can't accept the realities of matchmaking then don't use it, just play with friends. It's pretty funny you compare yourself to a kid because expecting random strangers to bend over backwards for you is exactly how a little kid thinks

No.
Inventive and creative noobs that have decent execution can win against meta slaves that have poor execution and rely on meta as a crutch.
Gud players shit on meta slaves as they are predictable and even when ther execution is perfect they play with an open hand of cards.
Its only the really shit noobs and 0 creativity and 0 passion midwits that suffer against meta slaves.
> noobs that have decent execution > meta slaves that have poor execution
how do you imagine this to work? How is a noob going to have better execution than a meta slave who's been doing it long enough to be considered a damn slave?
Also what the frick is this "meta slave" bullshit, isn't this just one big contrarian movement to legitimize playing like shit because you're no darn meta slave?
Well I play vidya since the eighties and was really good at Quake 3. When I start playing a new game I do not play meta but start with good execution and as my game knowledge accumulates I need to be less and less creative innovative against meta slaves to win.
Player with great execution that has lots of game knowledge and knows the meta in and out transcends the meta slave and shapes the meta so he is above a meta slave and the noob.
Perhaps the words meta and good and player and noob have different meaning to you.
>Play fite game >Match with a dude with horrible fundies >Tries to land one poke the entire game >Succeed once or twice >Everytime proceeds to switcy to autopilot and goes with the same flowchart everytime >Acts overly proud the two times he lands the combo even though he drops it halfway both times. >Ends up losing >Get salty pm in the inbox.
I remember playing against a new Ken towards the end of USF4. I taught that fricker not to jump, I swear. Jumped nonstop at the start, and every time he jumped, he got an anti air. Nothing flashy, just a button knocking him out of the air with 100% consistency. Near the end I could see him not jumping in spots where he would've at the start. I was proud of that random little fricker.
They've only ruined games that were badly designed in the first place. Rocket League has quite literally never suffered from metagaming homosexuals, and funnily enough has also never suffered from cheaters. If your game is capable of being metagamed, it's probably just got design flaws in the first place.
The problem is you always get whiners when you don't follow the meta and the meta is usually made by streamers. This means every meaningful change isn't accepted until the streamers do it.
That's fricking annoying as hell and it shows how little most players understand about the game.
Understanding why meta works goes a long way at understanding a specific game on a deeper level to make comparable builds or loadouts better suited to your own strengths and weaknesses. What is wrong with learning from other people to get better at something?
Based. Frick metaslaves >tfw I accidentally created a new meta in CoH2 because of Osttruppen spam >now my favorite unit got slapped with the nerf bat hard

Frick metagays
Not being allowed to stray from the meta kills games. Getting banned for experimenting is moronic. Finding out that the meta is actually sub-optimal and said new meta-shifting tactic/equipment/strategy/whatever getting nerfed to keep the status quo is not fun.
Only when they barge into the casual queue and ruin my fun. Take your competitive shit elsewhere, you are ruining everyone else's experience.
Cope, shitter
Play to win or stick with playing private games with your friends. Seriously. If you don't like a game's meta, that game is not for you.
Ranked queue is a thing in most games, yet you see a lot of tryhards cowering out of it because they are not good enough, yet good enough to dunk on casuals in casual queue. What's the point? It's a pathetic behaviour and it does more harm than not.

That kind of mentality pushes people out of the game, in the long run it's harmful to the same game you want to enjoy.
If they need to come after a noob to feel good and have fun maybe they are the ones who should play a different game.
That kind of mentality pushes people who shouldn't even be playing away. Gatekeeping is a good thing.

>meta is now an acronym for "most effective tactic available" instead of being short for metagaming
wtf when did this happen
Go play a harder game then. If 99% of a game is knowledge then don't be surprised when low level players just copy the top level
Mostly, yes. Not providing a reason is the new meta. I’m just right.
only if you let them
They've only ruined games that were badly designed in the first place. Rocket League has quite literally never suffered from metagaming homosexuals, and funnily enough has also never suffered from cheaters. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
No, but pandering game design to vocal minorities and forcing a meta by designing a game with a meta in mind has.
Also simplification of mechanics is a result of this.
Overwatch
Street Fighter V
Are recent examples
The problem is you always get whiners when you don't follow the meta and the meta is usually made by streamers. This means every meaningful change isn't accepted until the streamers do it.
