Am is the same hero as always, able to farm hard if he gets a good lane and blinks around dabbing for a bit late game but falls off hard compared to other carrys

like lich was fantastic design. he didn't have stuns so he scaled horribly late game, but he had an extremely powerful lane winning ability. his ult was also a reliable way to stop an enigma ult because of its bkb piercing mini stun. then they removed the ministun and turned his deny into a watered down bane grip.

Frontiers is literally the single best patch Dota 2 has received and revived my interest in the game. Yes tormentors and Roshan teleporting sounds weird on paper, but it all works.
I love the patch, but tormentors are dogshit man, at least for pubs >Heroes which need tormentor will most likely never have it at any good timing in the game because they can't solo it and level one tormentor can easily require 3 people (even 4) to do depending on your heroes >Even if by some miracle you get 3 morons together to spend 1 minute doing tormentor for shard so your dazzle can play the game it's still not a guarantee, so it's just better to buy shard if it's core anyway
It's best to just look at tormentors as 1.4k gold value for your team
They're good but it's not worth the time and opportunity cost of wrangling your team over unless you're all already there

They finally fixed Roshan being favored by one side or another, first it was literally on the Dire side of the map forever then it was moved to the river immediately adjacent to their jungle which will be warded to hell and back by a competent team it was far easier for Radiant to bomb out of their triangle to Roshan than it was for Dire to move through their jungle unnoticed. For the first fricking time the thing is balanced.

Prevents the offlane from being a suicide washout and the safelane from being ultra safe, you can rotate the safe lane support up for a gank.
The game is faster and more interesting rather than just watching some butthole click creeps for the first 10min then move to the jungles for another 10 minute before a single joust or two that leads half the barracks going away. Everything got too predictable and too safe, its actually an interesting game for players that aren't bottom of the trench trash. Supports aren't always 10 levels behind with only brown boots and maybe a wand 35min in.
It's still overly favored to one side. Imagine playing Ursa and getting your early rosh timer...oh wait Rosh is on the enemy's side. Guess you're fricked because you're on the wrong side 🙂

1. Tormentor gives shard to one of the 2 lowest networth players in your team, meaning it usually goes to a support.
2. If you're playing a support and you have a useful shard, you buy it min 15 and don't wait to roll the dice with tormentor 5 minutes later.
3. If you're playing a core and you have a useful shard, you're going to buy it yourself either way because waiting to roll the dice with the second or third tormentor is absolutely moronic.
4. You're giving up map control to go to the furthest away place in the map possible to get shard that's most of the time going to a player that doesn't even need it.
There is not a single situation where it's actually worth going for without it being a side objective that you do when it's not inconvenient.

I was so ready to commit to dota after convincing my friends to leave league, but the random fricking bans absolutely ruin it for me. If my clinkz gets banned 3 games in a fricking row for no god damn reason then why the frick should i keep playing this game.

Before the bans, you'd see the same heroes in every single game. The game is way more healthy now that there's an actual variance to the picks and one trick ponies like you have to learn multiple heroes to play.
Huh? It’s not random man and I always have a handful of heroes to fall back to and a handful of situationals as well. Even then the other day my core pick was banned, my core backups were hard countered and I picked up a new hero on the fly. Wasn’t perfect but oh well.
I don't know anon, I haven't played in half a year and in general I haven't played in few years, but it isn't hard to play any other hero, I can practically player 90% of the roster in pubs no problem, I usually just ransomed whatever hero I get, you should try it, although I don't remember if there are any benefits left from that, last few years I only played turbo

Didn't Doto basically die out in China after the gaming restrictions? I know they have next to no competitive team for Doto since training has become next to impossible and last I read it's easier to just play for fun and stream and make money that way even for what used to be pros.
Well jungling nerf ruined it too, but either way tri required precise knowledge of spacing to not soak up your cores xp and ganking/pulling to keep your third in the tri viable. My favorite was when mid lane would have two mid landers using a pos 4 to not soak xp and give mid the lane and roam to top or bot for kills, it was hard to ping since half the time they were stacking or waiting outside of xp gain range from creeps anyway

I was in the beta. The only time I ever enjoyed Dota 2 was during the Dragon Knight tutorial, which doesn't even exist anymore. I fricking hate everything about this game, especially the UI. Not even the the voice chat or random item drops could keep me playing this shit, there is just something about this game that makes me uncontrolably angry. This goes as far as even hearing that godawful respawn jingle.

Uh yeah you can. That's literally what your supposed to do, you ignore the tormentor until your team happens to be grouped near it. The shard is not nearly important enough that it's worth for your entire team to stop farming to go kill it and then have to go heal afterwards.

1. Tormentor gives shard to one of the 2 lowest networth players in your team, meaning it usually goes to a support.
2. If you're playing a support and you have a useful shard, you buy it min 15 and don't wait to roll the dice with tormentor 5 minutes later.
3. If you're playing a core and you have a useful shard, you're going to buy it yourself either way because waiting to roll the dice with the second or third tormentor is absolutely moronic.
4. You're giving up map control to go to the furthest away place in the map possible to get shard that's most of the time going to a player that doesn't even need it.
There is not a single situation where it's actually worth going for without it being a side objective that you do when it's not inconvenient.

That's literally the easiest way to throw the game. That only works if the enemy has absolutely 0 idea what your doing and wont contest at all.

beastmaster's hawk used to be freely controllable. then they turned it into a stationary ward. now it fricking circles beast master and doubles as an attack/cc. changing core designs like this is just jarring.

like lich was fantastic design. he didn't have stuns so he scaled horribly late game, but he had an extremely powerful lane winning ability. his ult was also a reliable way to stop an enigma ult because of its bkb piercing mini stun. then they removed the ministun and turned his deny into a watered down bane grip.

doesn't matter how many heroes you learn to play, the chance of your intended pick being locked out of being picked for no reason other than pure luck is one of the dumbest things i've ever heard. you should be allowed to play them no matter what in at least one matchmade game mode. at least league has blind pick despite it being a cesspool of garbage. random bans is probably one of the most unintuitive and genuinely autistic things i've ever heard of in a videogame. between league and dota, neither game gets the game modes right at all and it's such a shame because if they just fixed the fricking game modes instead of splitting them up into a pile of unfinished horseshit they might actually be enjoyable.

Before the bans, you'd see the same heroes in every single game. The game is way more healthy now that there's an actual variance to the picks and one trick ponies like you have to learn multiple heroes to play.
Huh? It’s not random man and I always have a handful of heroes to fall back to and a handful of situationals as well. Even then the other day my core pick was banned, my core backups were hard countered and I picked up a new hero on the fly. Wasn’t perfect but oh well.
I don't know anon, I haven't played in half a year and in general I haven't played in few years, but it isn't hard to play any other hero, I can practically player 90% of the roster in pubs no problem, I usually just ransomed whatever hero I get, you should try it, although I don't remember if there are any benefits left from that, last few years I only played turbo
You should commit to learning a handful of heroes at each position and you’d be surprised how easy and nice it is to branch out to one different hero bit by bit

Didn't Doto basically die out in China after the gaming restrictions? I know they have next to no competitive team for Doto since training has become next to impossible and last I read it's easier to just play for fun and stream and make money that way even for what used to be pros.

Nah, the pub standard was 1 1 2 and one afk jungler until they finally nerfed early jungling enough for it to stop.
Well jungling nerf ruined it too, but either way tri required precise knowledge of spacing to not soak up your cores xp and ganking/pulling to keep your third in the tri viable. My favorite was when mid lane would have two mid landers using a pos 4 to not soak xp and give mid the lane and roam to top or bot for kills, it was hard to ping since half the time they were stacking or waiting outside of xp gain range from creeps anyway

I was in the beta. The only time I ever enjoyed Dota 2 was during the Dragon Knight tutorial, which doesn't even exist anymore. I fricking hate everything about this game, especially the UI. Not even the the voice chat or random item drops could keep me playing this shit, there is just something about this game that makes me uncontrolably angry. This goes as far as even hearing that godawful respawn jingle.
