I made a full length RPG Maker 2002 game when I was 15. It's cliché and corny, but I'm proud to have made such a polished, bug free game at such a young age.
I take it back, it was RPG Maker 2003. It was a long time ago.

I only ever posted it to one website, which is now defunct. Additionally, the custom soundtrack I used for the game kept causing it to crash, so I had to substitute all the music for stock music right before I released the game. If you're still interested in it, I can certainly dig up the files from my old desktop, but odds are this thread will be nuked by then.

What a swell guy. I changed some of the music, that was my only contribution. Ended up getting an A in the class.

I've made like 7, all of them have no more than half an hour of gameplay with the exception of one infinite scrolling one where you're a kayaker and have to avoid rocks (kayak has physics) that I've played for several hours. Made them all for college.

I keep pretending like I want to but I have zero drive or discipline in my dopamine fried ADHD brain to anything that requires effort besides playing games and doing my day job. my two ideas were a fusion of FTL and a tactics game and tarkov in the future but singleplayer (extreme customization of future weapons essentially), both are too hard.
ADHD isn't really an excuse, took me a year or two to retrain my brain to be productive, but I'm a lot happier for it. All I can think about now is making games.
How'd you retrain your brain anon?
I gradually reduced the amount of time I spent procrastinating by cutting out things like social media and I started limiting my play sessions for games I know I will play for hours. I also had days where I wouldn't use my phone or other distracting tech at all. It doesn't take too long to see increases in productivity from doing this, and the longer you do it, the more your brain can recover from years of instant gratification.
I also gradually began to increase the amount of time I spent on small projects, giving myself arbitrary deadlines for completing them. Small but varied projects are how you adapt yourself to deal with crunch and you'll learn how to rapidly learn something (it is possible) and not give up or give in (due to not having time to give up and having already put in a lot of time on it).
At some point, the scales will tip and you'll find that you actually enjoy developing more than you do instant gratification, which is where I'm at now.

there is some legit criticism in here. i remember them talking about being close to half way done (if not more) on bibbi babbi rabbit puncher (or whatever the frick) while they were still regulars on oneyplays and that was in 2018. This is probably Corys biggest downside. I've noticed it a lot when listening to sleepy cabin. He insists on interrupting everyone, to the point of screaming over them, to either finish a rant, or completely change topics because something flashed across his autism riddled mind and he refuses to wait for someone in the middle of a story to finish first. There's multiple episodes where everyone is yelling at Cory to shut the frick up because he will yell over them to change topics randomly.

I used to make a lot of games in game maker when I was a kid. i've gone back to it a few times. It's very fun and satisfying but making something that people are actually willing to pay money for is so fricking time consuming, so big respect for indie devs

just being honest here, i don't think there's a plot to scam people out of their money or anything, i think that dingdong is very much a perfectionist type. Like, he'll have a pretty competent prototype made, and if he's not completely satisfied with it he'll redo a lot of work on it. I understand why he'd want to do that, but there comes a point where you should probably just move ahead and save the improvements for a sequel or something. Game dev is extremely time consuming and it's not really meant to be done by a two person team, but indie devs do it anyway bc people are so passionate about games. It's kind of insane.
